First off I wish to note that all the staff I encountered today at AO were kind and professional. i drove an hour to my appointment this morning scheduled at 830am. i arrived and checked in 5 minutes early and I was directed to sit and wait until my name was called. i was called back for my Covid test within a few minutes and the test took just a few minutes. i was again directed to sit in the waiting area and wait to be called back for my actual appointment. I waited until 930am before I asked the recepiton desk if there was a problem as every other person in the waiting area when I arrived had been called back & I was still waiting. they said they'd find out what the hold up was. 20 minutes later I was told they were waiting for a room for me. i waited... at 10:40am I was finally called back to a room & told the PA would be in shortly. The PA arrived in the exam room at approximately 11am. and my time with the PA lasted about 12 minutes. a 12 minute appointment took almost 3 hours. Very little communication from staff considering I had to address them and ask what was going on. If I were 15 minutes late for my appointmen, the appointment would be canceled (rescheduled). When a professional is 2 hours late for my appointment I don't even get an apology for having to lose hours of work. How is this professional? read more

Terrible experience. My mother has chronic pain we waited for an hour to then be herded in like cattle and then seen by the rudest specialist for literally 7 minutes. He didn't care about my elderly mother. He told her she needed to stop taking drugs. This is why we were there to get help. He was not interested in anything we had to say and then got up and walked out while we were still talking. He didn't even tell us his name. I had to ask the office staff(Dr. Schneider) read more

When I met with a surgeon about my cervical stenosis, he had told me several years ago that eventually I would have to have surgery, this time after 10 years of pain, he brusquely told me, "You just have to live with it." So I go to see a pain management doctor there who says, "It's not so bad." Again I felt brushed off. As I left the office, another patient chatted with me on the elevator. She said she felt brushed off because the doctor left the room and she didn't even know her consult was done. So it isn't just me. read more

The front office staff and nurses in the spinal department are unprofessional and rude. They clearly do not like their job and are lazy. I have made several calls to get referrals and appointments etc. they don't communicate with each other or write notes in your chart so that others can see what is going on. I was given a date for surgery and after talking with the hospital I did not feel comfortable moving forward as their was a lot of information that had not been disclosed on requirements pre surgery and restrictions post surgery. I called the office to relay my concerns and they cancelled my pre op appointment and stated I needed to discuss my concerns with the surgeon and not the PA who my pre op was scheduled with. A new appointment was made with the surgeon. I then received a call from someone asking why I cancelled and she stated that the info could have been answered by the PA. I let her know I only called to inquire and the person who answered cancelled, Then another woman called and left a voicemail to inquire why I cancelled my appointment and asked me to call back to reschedule. Clearly there is a huge lack of communication amongst staff. I finally saw the surgeon and he answered all my questions and I told him I felt more comfortable rescheduling and he asked me to think about it and his staff would call me the next day. Well they didn't call me on Friday like they were supposed to, instead they called on Monday. The woman asked if I would be having surgery next week and I said no I would like to reschedule and I know the Dr told me it's about six weeks out. She said, he doesn't know his schedule he is booking at the end of December. I said okay let me know what dates are available. She said hold on(in a rude tone) while she contacted the vascular surgeon. She came back on and said I only have December 20 available, I said I'm sorry I can't do this surgery 5 days before Christmas and be in the hospital. So I asked for another date and she said January's calendar isn't open you can call back at the end of November to get a date. I said, you can't call me. She said, I can but I want you to call. I will not tolerate being treated poorly by anyone and will be asking to be referred to another office with kinder staff and more integrity. read more

I'm not sure why Kaiser referred me to this clinic but when I got there because I was a new patient they charge me $200 upfront something about a high deductible. I just feel like when they call you on the phone they should tell you what the amount is going to be not get there and be shocked I knew if I didn't pay it, they weren't gonna see me and I needed to be seen about my knee, smh. Almost a two hour wait without a apology or explanation for the delayed appointment, extreme incompetence. Once I was about to walk out & said I was leaving, suddenly Dr. Wood was available. I have carpel tunnel in both wrist due to typing for 22 years at my job. I was diagnosed and scheduled for surgery in Pasadena. Unfortunately, this particular surgeon left the medical group to open her own practice in cosmetic surgery; therefore workman's comp referred me to Dr. Wood in Redlands. While I was waiting in room # 1 the room next door had a bunch of employees and the Dr. Looking out the window due to a vehicle getting their catalytic converter stolen from their car (this already happened & they kept looking out the window). They were caring on laughing and kept on and on about it for at least a half hour. Instead of attending to clients the Dr. was yucking it up, which was infuriating after waiting almost two hours & their air conditioner was not working. Once Dr. Wood came in, he asked who was the surgeon I was to use previously; I told him her name and in a condescending tone said I have never herd of her. He asked my symptoms, I explained what they are etc, etc. Dr. Wood then asked which hand was worse. I informed him both hands are the same. He said let me repeat what I just said, which hand is worse. I told him again both are the same. He then demanded that I choose a hand which I then informed him that they are the same & that I type using both hands so they are the same. He was raising his voice to me saying I have done thousands of surgeries (No one asked him). I let him know that he is trying to make me say what he wants me to say and that, that wont happen. Then he told me his clients always choose their dominate hand. I told him I want to start with my least dominate hand to see how the surgery goes first Dr. Wood again kept arguing with me about everything in a raised voice. He finally said we started off on the wrong foot and I don't think you would want me to do you're surgery. I said you are absolutely right and walked out. Dr. Wood was unprofessional, condescending, and demeaning. People who suffering pain don't need to go through with a Dr. who do not have their best interest at heart. Ask your case worker to refer you to a different surgeon. You do not have to be stuck with a Dr. you do not approve of. Some Dr.'s are due to retire. read more

After my experience with Daniel Patton MD, I would never suggest that anybody I know go to see him. He is rude, abrasive, sloppy, & a total jerk. I had a terrible outcome from my operation and I believe it is due to his utter incompetence, and I really believe that his actions were MALPRACTICE. I could go on and on, but I won't. Arrowhead orthopaedics was great! From the moment you walk in the entire staff was welcoming, patient and helpful. The man who put my sons cast on talked to him in jargon that he could understand (as an 8 year old) so he was excited instead of scared. When removing the cast Jose was also great with him and answered all questions he had and explained what he was doing completely to him. It was a very patient centered approach. read more

1st time waited 1hr before getting called back, fine b/c 1st visit and new. Next 2 visits waited 45 minutes before getting called back and no lobby was not filled. I get to wait another 40 minutes in the room and this is for follow ups not after a surgery or anything. I understand they're busy but lack of consideration regarding people's time is amazing checking in can take 5-10 minutes with 1 person in front of me & 2-3 employees at the front. I'll never recommend this place to anyone not sure if it's because it's work related and private insurance is treated differently but to waste multiple hours when it's not crowded is mind blowing. Dr Ghazal was able to find a break in my thumb and jacked up ligaments. After I had seen 4 other Drs, he's the only one that found it. He referred me for surgery the next week. Surgery was with Dr Wong as he's a hand specialist. So the minus star is for customer service for Dr Ghazal staff. They had us wait almost 6 hours and were very rude. The girl that did all my check in stuff when I was placed in a room needs Jesus. She's rude for no reason. read more

Dr. Hadley spent very little time, didn't even LOOK at my knees, said he'd make a referral elsewhere (didn't file the paperwork, so the referral didn't happen), said he'd order an mri (didn't file the paperwork, so I had to call twice to ask for the paperwork to be sent to imaging), and is impossible to follow up with (even though I really only want the referral). Really, really just a terrible experience. Zero stars for the medical staff, but one star because the front desk gals are so patient with the clients. read more

Back in January my daughter fractured her growth plate in her ankle roller skating. We were referred to Arrowhead Orthopedics by her primary and saw Dr. Patton. She was terrified, only 8 years old, and Dr. Patton was so compassionate with her, took his time, made her feel at ease and answered any questions her dad or I had. I was then referred to here and it was a completely different experience. I saw Dr. Solomon and I felt so rushed. My primary referred me because I fractured my wrist. The receptionists were very friendly & thorough but Dr. Solomon was the complete opposite. I think I spoke with him for less than 5 minutes and he seemed like he couldn't wait to get out of there. Really upset about how I was treated at the office by the doctor. read more

I have spend probably an hour over 2 days calling Arrowhead attempting to find out what an upcoming, procedure, I've already scheduled will cost me and they can't tell me. Then, the person I was speaking with was arguing with me and hung up on me. Really? Who is getting paid here... It took me this long and that much frustration to find out what the procedure codes are, which I need before Medicare can tell me the cost and coverage. After chatting with Medicare this morning I have my answer, but the big question is, why can't the staff who works with Medicare and insurance companies give me this information prior to the procedure. This SHOULD be a standard practice for all medical billing offices. A friend just got an unexpected bill for $800 because she THOUGHT her procedure was covered. read more

I saw Dr. David Wood for continuous injuries to my back and neck, etc. The appointment started with several X-Rays, which was a relief because nobody had offered this thorough of X-Rays before this visit. Dr. Wood then reviewed the records I provided and talked to me about my injuries and conducted a physical exam. After the exam he ordered additional advanced imaging to hopefully determine what is causing my chronic pain and develop a successful treatment plan. Thank You, Dr Wood read more

This is a bad practice with very little concern about patient outcomes. The Dr is always running late. They cancel appointments last minute. They reschedule surgery the last minute. The reception area is maintained like a bus station. When I had complications after my surgery, Dr Elsissy said "God heals everything." And then he asked if I would like to pray with him. It's very concerning when the only help a Dr can offer is prayer. As you can guess, the prayers didn't work. read more

Spoke to my mother's Doctor, Dr.Patton, he clarified information and was apologetic to my mother. Thank you! BE ADVISED, TELE APPTS In case anyone make a telehealth appt (phone appt) be aware that the appt day is scheduled but the time can be flexible, so do not anticipate ur call to be the exact time scheduled. Be sure to have ur phone by you the day you are scheduled because they will either call u before or after the appt time (which we never knew or were informed about) Be mindful of Doctor being attentive to patient based on the urgency and needs to each patient. I want this to be aware so no one has to go through the hassle of missing doctors calls The office and staff should really make this aware to patient because every office works differently Happy holidays! read more

Worst place ever do you have an appointment that make you wait an hour and that's how you going to be there for this before ours more it's so ridiculous no one explains when you go in that you going to be there for a long time so pretty much I just wasted gas time. I don't even know where to begin with this place. I have been going there for about 12 years. The experience at arrowhead orthopedic with Dr Grames was phenomenal the staff phenomenal. However, as they grow bigger and bigger it got worse and worse. You wait months for someone to call you back regarding an appointment, authorization for surgery and no one seems to give a damn. It breaks my heart that there are such amazing doctors there and such a crappy staff. It's so unfair to be in this kind of pain and have to wait on the broken promise that they WILL return your call. It NEVER happens. Here's a perfect example of what I'm talking about. My husband sees a doctor and he needed a knee replacement. I was at my appointment seeing Dr Grames and expressed to him that he had been waiting and waiting and waiting for someone to call him back and Dr Grames told me to hang on and he quickly returned and we finished up my appointment. My husband received a call that day with all the details that he had been waiting on. That's why I say the doctors are great but so unaware of how crappy the staff is. Messages are not being given and promised returned calls never happen. The overall experience of it all is heartbreaking. Especially if you've been a patient there as long as I have. I watched it go from great to mediocre. In this day and age with all the technology it should not be like this.
