Anika is a fantastic instructor. My son had zero driving experience (we don't live in the U.S.) and she trained him so well that he passed his driving test with flying colors in less than 6 weeks. Anika is very calm and competent and has just the right combination of firmness and kindness for teenagers. My son got very comfortable with driving in just a couple of lessons. Anika and ARS driving school have been very good with scheduling and rescheduling lessons. We really appreciate that Anika came on July 4th (a holiday weekend) to do the driving lesson with my son. Also Anika came on the Sunday before the test to do a dry run with my son at the DMV. ARS has an excellent website that can be used for lesson scheduling. I chose ARS because of their ratings and liked the fact that they have a package where you can use their car (because I didn't want my son to have to drive a huge suburban) for the driving test, they make the appointment, pick up for a last minute practice and drop off back at home...it made the whole DMV test day less hassle and worry free. The pre-test lesson helped calm her nerves, and Anika was even able to get the DMV to correct the spelling of my daughter's surname on her license - something I hadn't noticed when we got her permit. I had gone through another driving school previously with my oldest. He had never been behind the wheel at all and within 1 week he had all 3 of his 2 hour driving lessons and was overwhelmed and couldn't remember much of the instruction. I knew the next time needed to be different. So I researched more for my daughter and was impressed with many things about ARS. First, the consistent 5 star ratings stood out and I know why. There is a high level of professionalism starting with the information on the website to the communication on the phone and explaining the process and down to the regular emails confirming payment and upcoming appointments. Second is the driving lessons themselves. Good sized, clean cars provided with second brake made me feel reassured. All 3 lessons are spaced out within the 6 month permit time which allows the information and experience to be fresh in mind. Plenty of discussions to thoroughly explain what to expect before, during and after the lesson helped my daughter to retain what she had experienced. The practice runs, again with plenty of discussion and reminders, around the area of the DMV location she would be taking her test at were also a very big help. And third, is the follow up emails that provide the review that the students, but also the parents, need as well as personal notes that reflect what your student personally needs to pay attention to. Everything paid off! My daughter passed her driving test on the first try with a very high score! Learning to drive can be a very stressful experience for the teen and the parent. The worst customer service I experienced, very incompetent registration person. Very hard to make an appointment, they require one month in advance to make one. After I made an appointment two months earlier, it was cancelled. Anika very condescending on the phone, not caring , not a single apology for messing my schedule. I had a great experience with ARS driving school. Anika was a great driving teacher because she was patient and encouraging. She talks a lot during the lesson which is very helpful when you are learning because she always reminds you what you need to do. I was able to pass my driving test on the first try, but the examiner said that I was not good with the residential portion. We only did residential in the first lesson, and I wish we went over it in the other lessons. However, I know commercial and other areas when driving can be more challenging and there is a lot more to look out for. I appreciated all of the reminders for the lessons and the notes. The notes were especially helpful if I felt overwhelmed with driving in the lesson, I could look over and review a little later when I was calmer. I thought having the two lessons shortly before the test was helpful to remind me of the errors that I should fix, so I would definitely recommend ARS to anyone looking for behind the wheel training! read more

I was running out of time to start taking my driving lessons and to practice since my permit was going to expire in a month and a half. I was very nervous and afraid that I would not be able to hear back from a driving school fast enough to get through my lessons in time, but ARS Driving School responded back to my emails promptly and scheduled my lessons, and even the drive test, swiftly. I really loved the driving lessons with Anika as she was always calm and patient whenever I had any questions or confusion with something, and she is an amazing teacher and person in general. ARSE driving school! Do not rely solely on the Yelp reviews when choosing your school. My instructor, Anika, took a month to schedule my 1st lesson. When the day finally came, she was 20 minutes late and she refused to proceed with the lesson with the excuse that I didn't have corrective lenses on. I never wore lenses for god's sake. There was a typo on my permit which DMV is fully aware of and has given clearance to proceed with lessons as long as I get the typo corrected when I get my license. Anika wanted to charge me $100 for that but she decided to wave it. The next appointment she scheduled was more than 2 weeks later! Seriously? So I cancelled my package with the school. There was a $75 admin fee charge which I was fully aware of. Anika wanted to charge me an additional $100 for the previous cancellation, which she has already waived in the past. Seriously, what a loser! Its not written anywhere in their terms and conditions that any previous waiver will be forfeited if you later decide to cancel your package. I had a great experience with Anika and ARS. I'm a fresh immigrant from the Philippines who has no driving experience at all. I signed up for ARS's D package, which was three lessons, 2 hours each, plus a 3 hour DMV behind the wheel exam day. They space out your three lessons so you can practice driving with your own car, and they help you progress after every lesson, saying what you should improve on. They also schedule the DMV behind the wheel test for you. Overall, it was a complete package to help me pass my DMV test on my first attempt, and I would totally recommend them to anyone. read more

First day Driving is one of my greatest fears. Ive been nervous thinking about my first driving lessons but on my first day i felt comfortable because my instructor,Anika, was very professional, calm, accommodating and nice. She is very skillful as a teacher, knows how to teach in a way students will understand easily. I like her pointers that she suggests that will help me drive more confidently and be able to remember things in an easier way than just memorizing. She explains steps to follow in a particular scenario which is very consistent.Knowing the rules of driving in a more efficient way as how she explained made me feel that driving is not as scary as i used to believe.
