The atmosphere and workers there are phenomenal. They're even knowledgeable about the beers they serve allowing them to accurate recommend beers you might enjoy. Haven't had a single bad beer yet. Which brings me to my next point. Places like world of beer that have a billion beers on tap, but don't always seem to have good beers. I would assume that the owner tries the beers out before adding them to his massive collection rather than just having a ton of beers available. read more

I haven't tried the food yet (will update my review once I do), but the bar and atmosphere are fantastic. It is a cozy place to have a craft beer on draft or a really cool cocktail. Pluses first. Food is fantastic - I had the Tuscan which was delicious although I think it would be perfect if it had been pressed as a panino - my wife had the Arsenal which was just right. The service is great, friendly and attentive without being pesky. The atmosphere is nice and interesting, music at just about the right level and decent selection. Negatives... I was really put off when I was asked to give them a card before I had even ordered. I FELT UNTRUSTED AND INSULTED. I've never had that asked of me ever. That could make me not go back again... Seating is limited and not comfortable. Nothing but bar seats or outside which isn't an option on a hot summer day.... prices are high for sandwiches. Bottom line, good experience, good food, some simple changes would make it phenomenal. read more

So happy this place opened- it was exactly what I was missing, and I didn't even know I was missing anything! The beer selection is on point, and there are just enough brews offered to not be overwhelming. The bartenders and servers are friendly and extremely knowledgeable and take the time to learn your name. I love that there are at least two sour beers on the menu at all times that I've been in, and I like that many local breweries are profiled. The atmosphere is nice- I like options for seating and there is a cute den area with couches, a larger area with high tops, and an outdoor patio (with heat lamps!) and nice lighting. The grilled cheese menu is decent- I do wish there were a few more vegetarian options (or a veggie burger patty offering). The sandwiches I have tried have been very tasty. My only complaint is the appetizers- I have tried the pierogi and the fried onions, and both taste like/have the appearance of coming out of a mass-produced freezer bag. My criticisms of the food are not enough to take away a star, however. I'll be back for sure! read more

Such a fun and relaxing place! I almost don't want to share this new-found secret! There is a small wine selection and large beer selection. While they advertise grilled cheese and tater tots, the menu is more extensive than bread and cheese. Good place to relax with, or without, the kids. Arsenal is a neighborhood bar and kitchen in the Summerville area that specializes in craft beer and pub fare. The feel here is like being at a personal home that also happens to have an excellent beer selection, probably best in the city. The food menu has continually evolved and thankfully grown into something more substantial than just grilled cheeses. I have nothing against a good grilled cheese but options such as fried avocado and steamed pork buns excite my taste buds slightly more. These two were my dinner during my stay and the buns were perfectly soft pillows encapsulating juicy pork which more than satisfied my cravings after a few IPAs. I was excited to try a special release Creature Comforts which I saw was available via Untappd. The beer list is lengthy (about 150 choices) with some good hard to find ones albeit mostly consisting of local breweries. Craft beer bars are quickly becoming easy to find but Arsenal is one that is good for Augusta and would keep me coming back. read more

This is truly a hidden gem! The atmosphere is super chill and the staff is fun to socialize with. You can sit outside by the heated lamps for a calm ladies night out or bring the guys on a game day to check out the big flat screen TV behind the bar. Belgian beers you rarely see anywhere in Georgia. 25+ taps, and tons of bottles and cans that you can also get to-go. The food here is just absolutely delicious. You can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches and the loaded tots are a must every time you eat here. They have a pretty nice selection of beers as well, with some being more limited than others. The beers can be a bit pricey though in my opinion, maybe more so than many other places in Augusta. However, I'm glad the Summerville area has a nice place to grab drinks and food from now. read more

I wish I could give them 2 1/2 stars. I decided on three stars because this place has potential. The biggest issue, is it's way overpriced. I ordered a specialty sandwich that had pulled pork, macaroni and cheese and pickles. I would say the portion size is well below average. You're going to get around 2 ounces of pulled pork and a quarter cup of macaroni and cheese. This sandwich cost $12.50. And it comes with no sides. They pride themselves in tater tot's, but they don't include them with any of their sandwiches. There is nothing special about their tater tot's. Just standard cafeteria style tater tot's. If you want tater tot's with your sandwich, you have to pay $2.50. So now you're talking about $15 for a sandwich and tater tot's. That is way overpriced. Something you would expect to see in downtown San Francisco, but not in Augusta Georgia. The food overall tasted good, but the portion sizes were small and therefore not very filling. They have an excellent selection of bottled and draft beers. But like the food, it's overpriced. Expect to pay 6 to $10 for a draft beer. And like their food, their portion sizes are small. They come in 10 to 14 ounce glasses. We had good service, and the ambience is great. However, I would not come back to this restaurant unless they reduce their prices by 25%. read more

Service was extremely slow tonight! We ordered sandwiches and a half hour later we were told they were out of the ones we ordered. So we ordered 2 different ones and the server came back and said there was only one left we ordered. We've been there before and although we think it's kinda pricey we haven't had service this bad. read more
