One of the nicest restaurants in Prague! Prague has a lot of history and culture already, but this little restaurant has an artist that paints just for this restaurant. I was told that the men's restroom has a lot of mural and art as well! (Women's restroom doesn't have it but it's very clean!) You have an option or a la Carte, prix fixe menu with options for wine pairing as well. We had quite a bit of food so chose to do a la carte. Everything came out in a timely manner with the perfect presentation! See the photos! Also every dish was so delicious! It's reasonably priced for this type of food. I arrived in Prague a bit hangry on a late flight to a rainy city, and factoring in the time in takes to get into the city from the airport and find and check-in to a well-hidden hostel, I had low expectations for dinner. Thankfully, like any self-respecting foodie, I had done my research prior to arriving in Prague and selected ART&FOOD as the most promising late night option. I made it through the door with 10min to spare (last order is at 11) and enough time to hear the last song on the piano! ART&FOOD is well-situated if you're coming from the old town- you'll have a gorgeous view in either direction while crossing the bridge- even in the rain! The restaurant/wine bar itself has a great funky feel, with modern art covering the walls, and small, low wooden tables set with wine glasses filling the floor below the piano, which sits on a raised platform near the entry. The food surpassed all my expectations. I ordered the chicken, which was paired with a local Pinot Grigio (at my request for something citrusy). The chicken with a pea purée, gnocchi and ricotta was so good that I may have licked the plate... although the wine pairing wasn't perfect (I would leave the requests to the staff, in the future) the wine itself was beautiful, alone, and I would definitely order it again. The food was absolutely delicious, we decided to do the A La Carte as opposed to the tasting menu since we weren't sure we'd like everything on the tasting menu. Plus we were able to get a bottle of wine, shared most of the other courses and got one main course each. Picked an item from every course and literally everything that came out was delicious. We had the beef tartare, cauliflower poached egg, 42 day aged sirloin steak, tortellini and rhubarb desert. The staff is friendly and helpful and even provided a little wine tasting on the side to help us decide which bottle of wine to buy. Wish K took more photos of the food but it was so good I started digging in! Highly recommend if you're looking for a nice/special dinner. It is a bit on the pricey side but definitely worth it! read more

We were looking for a different experience and found art and food thanks to yelp! It was quite a treat. We had the five course tasting menu with wine pairings and each course was wonderful. We had several czech republic wines which were a treat as we had been drinking czech pivo for a week now (often as a substitute for water). One wine we really liked was an orange colored one that tasted like sauvignon blanc married sauvignon franc. Trè bièn. Price wise this is more than standard czech faire but was well worth it. The star for me was the venison. Perfectly cooked and delicious. Second star was the pasta. Insane how tasty it was. Dessert was the third champ. I could have eaten three of these! Romantic? Check. Artsy? Check. Flavorful? Check. Perfect service? Check. Lots of checks at this "czech" restaurant. As with all czech restaurants water is not included. We had two bottles of sparkling water to fend off "tanin" issues wines can cause. read more

Had a wonderful meal here last night. We did the five course tasting with wine pairings. The menu changes daily here, so it's tempting to go back and see what the chef offers today. The wines were all Sourced locally and did not disappoint. The food was wonderful and our server was extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a large selection of art on display that is available for purchase. Prices seemed a bit huh on the art, but we felt the food was quite reasonable. My husband and I took my mom to this wonderful restaurant and we all had the tasting menu as well as the matching Czech wines wine paring. The price value for this combo is really great. They use almost only local and farm-to-table ingredients, which you can taste in every dish. The composition of the dishes as well as the entire menu, including the wine pairing, was excellent. Very well combined and served. The only thing that we would recommend is adjusting the desert - I do love "krupicova kase" but it is a way too heavy end for such a wonderful menu. Not bad, not great. Sat down in a virtually empty restaurant at 7pm. Uh oh. When we asked to see the wine list and learned that there was no list we were a bit surprised. The restaurant's solution, we were informed, is to tell them what you like, and they'll suggest the wine. Okay, that's bizarre and inefficient. They had us go up to the front of the place where the wine is kept and pick out a bottle. They would open ANYTHING, and if we didn't like it, they'd open something else. Huh? Okay, so we tried a few wines, had no idea what the price was until we asked, and found a sparkler we enjoyed, along with a Czech red for the entree courses. Food was pretty good, and presented in an "artistic" style to be sure. Waitstaff worked hard to please. Overall it was okay, but probably not rushing back the next time we're in CR. read more

I went here after a friend from the US recommended it. It was the first place I went to when I got off the train and I'm so glad I did! It is such a quaint romantic little restaurant. The service was very attentive and they were so nice. Lastly the food was impeccable. It was extremely fresh and cooked perfectly and served at the proper temperature while still being reasonably priced (for an American). I did the 3 course with wine pairing and loved it. The only item I didn't care for was the ice wine that was paired with dessert but I think that is just my personal taste. I recommended it to every person I met in Prague and highly recommend to all of you! read more

Just had a lovely meal that joins a select list of memorable meals both for the food and service.

This place is so cute and so wonderful! It was recommended to us by a friend, so already had high expectations, but our experience totally surpassed that. I would equate this to dining at a Michelin star restaurant, but for half the price. My husband got the 4-course meal and I had 2 a-la carte dishes. We also got wine pairings. Our waiter was completely attentive, friendly, and so helpful with deciding the wine since we are not wine experts. He even gave me some extra tastings and glasses to compare. The food was absolutely delicious. Between the two of us, we had a beef carpaccio, a carpaccio of beetroot and goat cheese, wild garlic soup with a poached egg, meatloaf, roasted trout with mashed potatoes, and strips of beef steak, all finished with a mousse cheesecake in raspberry sauce. Just thinking about it now makes me want to eat everything all over again! Every bite was accompanied with a "..mmm. this is sooo good." Wonderful experience at Art & Food. We ate at Art & Food in June 2015. It was the best restaurant we went to in Prague and we went to many of Yelps top choices. The food is farm to table so the menu changes. Everyone of our meals was unique and obviously prepared by a well trained chef. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. In addition to the food the service was friendly and it was clear that they cared about our enjoyment. We were offered to try two different wines before making a selection -which never happened in Prague. When we said that we did not want desert they surprised us by giving us each an apple cognac to finish the meal (and they did not add it to the bill). They also had a piano player who added to the ambience. Don't think that this is a stuffy restaurant. It is casual with a young vibe. I hope this restaurant takes off because they really do deserve success. read more
