Sophia to get her hair cut tor 415. She had to book it a week in advance as Sophia gets busy and she really liked the work she did last time. My mother had told me 430 earlier in the day so was going to pick her up and and drop her off by 425ish (we only live1 minute away) but as im about to pick her up the calendar reminder had a pop up that the appointment was for 415. So call the place to let them know we are on the way but will be a few minutes late. The person on the phone says she will have to check with Sophia and then proceeds to tell me they have to cancel my appointment. Then the next appointment they had was for 10 days from now. They might be good for haircuts but their scheduling assistant is horrible. Update for response: when they cancelled my appointment my mother was in the car with me and said we would be there in minute which would be 5 minutes before a 15 minute late grace window EVERY place gives you with booking. She still said they had to cancel the appointment and proceeded to give me a booking date for 10 days later. She was just really just trying to cancel the appointment rather than assist me. Bad customer service. read more

Art and Craft Salon just continues to do a fabulous job on my hair. Sophia is an amazing colorist and has never failed to wow me in the 15 plus times I've been here. First, I booked an appt for a balayage and cut- and I'm one of those people who has no idea what she's doing and what she wants- so I'm sure that's fun for anyone in customer service dealing with me. Jen to the rescue. She literally had a call with me after I sent a few pics and ideas of what I like and what I may be looking for. Fast fwd to our appt, she talked me through EVERYTHING. I literally felt like I was the only person that mattered. Jen did such a great job with really honing in on not only what I was looking for, but also what would look good. Got a beautiful haircut from Anastasia! The salon is taking extreme precaution when it comes to sanitizing, washing hands, and social distancing. Right now the waiting area is closed so you have to call before entering the building. Overall my service was fabulous. Anastasia texted me before my appointment to see what I was looking for or to send her any pics I was using as inspiration. On the day of the appointment she talked through different styles (and even pulled up Pinterest for me to see as reference!). Never did I feel I was being pressured to buy products! I left feeling great about my hair and my new style. Some things to note: if you are paying with card they do not allow tip to be added to the card, make sure you come with cash or ask for their Venmo. Parking is VERY easy and convenient. If you are familiar with the Norwood downtown, the salon is across the street from Vicos and there is a public parking lot where you can park for free. First, I was sent an email prepping me for what I wanted done, so I felt at ease when I went in, then when I arrived, I was welcomed like family & offered snacks & drink. Jen is THE BEST. I first went to Jen when I was cutting my hair for the first time in almost TWO YEARS. She cut off 16 inches total off my hair and then I was able to donate 12 of those inches. Jen styled my hair into EXACTLY what I was looking for. She made me super comfy when I was making this big choice to chop it all off. I have been going back to Jen ever since and I love her. They had me send pictures of my hair and inspiration styles in advance, and Bekah was very attentive to what I wanted. Only one star for color, cut and customer service. I met with the owner Jen and asked for a straightforward cut and color that I've had before: 2" cut off and lighter hair with bolder and blonder highlights. She completely ignored what I asked for. Her website says that she's "unique in wanting to listen to her clients" but she didn't pay any attention to me. When I walked out of the salon and looked in my car mirror, I couldn't believe it. My hair was darker than before with only about 1" snipped off. I wanted to be courteous and resolve the problem so I wrote Jen and then we spoke on the phone. This was the second abuse - her attitude and tone were beyond dismissive. She tried twice to hang up on me. She was dishonest, saying it was the same coloring as before when I can compare receipts showing she gave me a "root color melt" this time, for the first time. The interaction with Jen was unpleasant so I'm writing this review to give a heads up to others who may have similar situations. read more

Cutting Loose is great! I loved my experience. It was easy to get to. Booking online was a breeze. Services were very reasonably priced. The environment was clean and inviting. I was welcomed into the salon with a warm smile. I had my appointment with Caitlin. She is kind and very customer service oriented and extremely talented. One star because the receptionist is excellent! But my hair was a disaster after I left this place. Went to have a blow drying and trimming. Even though I said to the lady that my hair was thin and to put the styling products on all hair, she only put them at the ends and in the bang she put mouse, that it's not the best option. The she decided to dry my hair using her hands as a brush. No lady, that only works for straight hair. She was so convinced that she did wrong, that when she finished, she didn't ask me if everything was ok or show me the work. She just said, all set and "boom", go (onomatopoeia added by myself). Absolutely love that they have online booking so I could book very early in the morning for the same day. Very convenient location with plenty of parking. Gotten a ton of compliments on my new cut. I went for the first time today and am absolutely thrilled I choose here! I'm notorious for going to your typical chain hair cutting place that does just an okay job, but I decided to get a real haircut. Well, they did not disappoint! Caitlin was the one who cut my hair and even though I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, she created the perfect haircut for me. It's so cute and perfect for my face shape! I went to see Jen for the first time about a month ago, and it was a great experience. I have had a real difficult time finding a salon I like since moving to the Boston area a couple of years ago, but Jen came highly recommended here on yelp, so I decided to give her a try. So glad I did. Finally, someone who can get my dark-dark brown color without it fading out to red! Also, she was extremely flexible with scheduling. I am a terrible procrastinator, and needed a color quick before an out-of-town business trip. She was able to squeeze me in within a matter of days on really short notice. I am also a huge fan of the online scheduling. And to top it off, she even followed up with an email to welcome me to the salon and make sure that I was satisfied with my color.
