The service was slow, but they were short-handed, so we will give them a pass. The shop offered, Morning beverages and various lite breakfast items. We came to have a good breakfast here cuz we're staying at Grand Downtown Hotel . And this spot is in the ground floor. Unbelievable what we had experience this morning. Terrible service that they have here . They made me come back to get 1 cent . Cuz I wasn't really short of a penny actually. I just did want a 99 cents on my change so I don't have to carry a lot of change in my pocket . All of my change was in the room . She made me go up to 7th floor for a penny . I do cash register all the time when I was working and as a cash register I wouldn't think that I will get fired in case my register will be short for a penny . We call the housekeeper to bring water bottles and of course we give a tip cuz we know how they work really hard . Especially in big city like this . Quick stop we thought for coffee and tea...unfortunately there were only 3 people running the joint for a line of 15+ people. Service was slow, they didn't have enough people. Coffee ok, chai tea tastes like almond/hazelnut- blah. Everything bagel toasted is ok, doughy and almond croissant was big, expensive and not flaky, bad. Art Bar is really more of a lobby bar inside Downtown Grand. Nonetheless, it has pizazz. The ceiling is loaded with framed artwork and the seating is equally fashionable. Lounge chairs have decadent red plush cushions and gold frames. The bar itself is open and spacious, and over the two times I visited, the bar was never crowded. I found myself at Art Bar because the lure of $1 draft beers was irresistible. The Downtown Grand was running a special during Life is Beautiful where patrons who showed the bartender their LIB wristbands would receive $1 draft beers for the duration of that weekend. The bartender told us that beers were normally $8. What a deal! Art Bar had three drafts to choose from: Stella, Blue Moon, and Goose IPA. This is more related to the cafe rather than my stay. If you plan on going to the cafe definitely do not, walk a few minutes to Dunkin' Donuts or whatever cafe or coffee related business you would like to order form but do not bother wasting your money or time at this cafe. The guy taking our order was names Brent and he truly showed me a good ol time painfully taking my order. It just seemed like he definitely didn't want to essentially work but like damn I didn't tell you to get this job. Definitely was not engaged in really taking the order, he was not really speaking loud and clear when taking our order and he just kept looking at me and my partner like we were really inconveniencing him and his "work" which is kind of funny considering he didn't seem like he wanted to take our order anyway. But once we got our drinks mine was made in an incorrect size because he was not relaying this information to the barista making the drinks. Instead of her making it all over again he decided to essentially tell her to dump it in a bigger cup. The food was also trash, it tasted like it was made a week ago and left for everyone to either buy or pass. Again do not waste your time or money, service is trash and so is the food. read more

The bar is located in the lobby of the Downtown Grand Las Vegas. It is oddly NOT open 24/7. Well, since it only has two walls (an open design to the lobby), it's never technically closed and allows loitering. We were there on a Friday night and the bartenders left around midnight? No warning either. I also didn't see any signs showing their hours. A group of us were in the area for dinner, so we decided to check out Downtown Grand and settled on Art Bar based on its vibe (nice decor, beautiful furniture, and relaxing). That was probably the only enjoyable part of our evening. The bartender tended to us rather quickly, which was very nice. I chose the "Mozart" from their cocktails menu composed of Ketel One vodka, Midori, and a splash of pineapple juice. My friend chose the "Monet" (Hennessy cognac, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup). The drinks were all right and after discovering the Yelp check-in offer of a free cocktail with cocktail purchase, we stuck with our beverages. What followed was an odd experience. The bartender was unfamiliar with the check-in offer and continued to tell me that it was for the "other Art Bar" - um, what? He claimed it was the one located inside the Mob Museum (the Mob Bar?). I said, "No, it's here" while showing him photos of the bar that was posted on their Yelp page. He looks at my phone again and asks if he can take it to his boss. He comes back with the same confusion because his boss is not available, but then says "okay" to the offer. So, besides the bartender trying to convince me that there was another Art Bar when he didn't know about the Yelp check-in, he also forgot an ingredient in one of their signature cocktails, so my friend had to take it back (there were only three ingredients). Oh, and he called it a Mo-NET. Fail. My advice? Avoid this bar! There are SO MANY other competent bars in Vegas! read more

This is my review of the Art Bar located at the Downtown Grand Hotel and Casino. I normally ate here late at night/early morning. They are open 24/7 and is a great place if you have the late night munchies after playing the casino. Menu: so their menu is limited, not like a full fledged restaurant but the food they serve is quite good. As mentioned earlier I usually ate late and Peter was always my server. Peter is great, attentive, polite, and very pleasant to be around. In short, Peter is awesome! Food: my first time there I had the ham and eggs. I wanted to order potatoes as well but Peter told me they came with the dish. Nothing stood out at first, but the food was very tasty. Grilled bone-in ham, eggs over easy, house potatoes, and wheat toast...it was all delicious. On a different night I had their burger. It was after midnight, closer to 1am and I had just landed from a day trip in Los Angeles and was dead tired but needed a burger. It was a very good burger, cooked perfectly (the way I asked), and to be honest was better than the burger from Gordon Ramsay BurGR. My last night there was also after midnight, had to try the Pot Roast (I love pot roast) and again I was not disappointed. It was not as tasty as Triple George but it was still very good. Summary: if you are staying at the Downtown Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, and get hungry late at night, give Art Bar a try! read more

This is a happy hour review.... Hub and I chose to go here because we had a show at Golden Nugget at 8pm. Sat down, was pretty crowded, probably because of the Zappo's employees being so close and it was a Friday night. Waitress was prompt and took our order, she looked stressed but did a really great job considering how many people were in there. Hub ordered a Stella and I ordered a glass of Cab. We ordered three 5 dollar apps; cheese plate, ham and cheese sliders and pretzel bites. Food came out and it looked beautiful. 4 very generous portion cheeses with fruit and crackers....(5 dollars!). All the cheeses were exotic..I loved it! Hub really liked his ham sliders and we shared the pretzel bites with 2 sauces, a cheese sauce and a mustard sauce. Our bill was 25 dollars with the drinks......you MUST GO! Plenty of food for dinner. read more

I will be back again to try some of the other drinks on the menu but I did try the Burning Giraffe (which was missing the smoke), Night Watch (delicious), and a absinthe in the traditional way (did not like, not the fault of the bartender). The only reason I'm taking off one star is because they missed the smoke in the first drink and they no longer had a bar bites menu like they were still showing online. I came here after a long night of exploring downtown Las Vegas, it was down in the first floor of our hotel and held a quirky sleek design that caught my attention. This had a dressing menu, interesting to say the least. The bartender Angela was nice enough to tell me that I was last call 11:57. I asked for a red wine & Ginger/jack. I was also starving which lead me into seeing the creative appetizers like pizza rolls. I asked if I could order some and she let me know that she will try! Turns out she made magic happen, we enjoyed sitting in the open footed art far past her time there. On the ceiling they hold random art. The reason for the less one star was the price for drinks, although mine was really strong, size was rather unfair. Cute little place, just wish it was livelier. Also, don't bother with check in Yelp deal, they no longer serve food. There is a happy hour that offers $4 draft beer and well cocktails. Draft selection is Stella, Blue Moon and a hef I can't exactly recall. Bartender was chatty and personable, though atmosphere was very quiet and somber, even though it was a holiday and Veteran's Day parade brought some traffic to downtown. I really hope things go well for these guys and they don't follow in the footsteps of the now closed Mob Bar around the corner. read more

I would love to give the Art Bar 5 stars. Which at one point I would do without second thought. However, they moved the employee that made this lobby bar worth going too. I am a LV local, so it's hard with so many people coming and going to get settled into a place that the bartender remembers your name, what you drink, how your family is... John was that bartender. Now he is working the furnace bar at the casino and it's not as good. Your just another face in the crowd. I wish the Grand would figure it out. I was staying at the Grand so this is the nearest place to get coffee. For three days I ordered a extra shot of syrup w my coffee . It was still bitter . The service is bad . On day three instead of tipping a dollar a drink . I tipped one dollar for two drinks. The two ladies working behind the bar in Spanish talked about how little the dollar tip was . They are lucky I gave them a mercy dollar for subpar coffee . This location and atmosphere has such a tremendous about of potential . If I hadn't been a guest of the hotel I would have gone elsewhere . I recommend you do the same . read more

However the wine & beer list is unimpressive & they were out of the only 2 sparkling wines on the menu. I can't rate the cocktails because we didn't have one. As for the service, watch your bill to make sure it's correct. Some of our items were full price when they should have been half off. 2 out of the 3 times we paid the bill was wrong. During a recent visit to Vegas, I thoroughly enjoyed some Absinthe (real deal). It was served with the burning sugar cube, cold water drip and natural emulsion in Pernod Absinthe. The bar tender was very knowledgeable about libations and the colorful history of Vegas. The atmosphere at the Art Bar is loungy and elegant. For a unique experience, I highly recommend partaking of the Absinthe despite any consternations you may have. Bon chance! read more

As of my visit in March, 2015 they discontinued happy hour and introduced low cost well drinks and a limited selection of $4 drafts. Big props to the incredibly warm and prompt staff, but with so many options in the greater Downtown and Fremont areas, I wouldn't make this a destination. read more

Located in The Downtown Grand in Downtown Las Vegas. this bar is a little off the beaten path, but I must say the happy hour specials were very reasonable, the drinks were ok, nothing spectacular but still quite drinkable. I will also say that this is not the typical dive or seedy joint that one would find downtown, I will be curious to see how they do. I hope they make it. The ceiling is awesome and the seating is cool.. Probably the best parts of this place. It's small; right off of the lobby of the Downtown Grand. Most of the seats were taken but I saw one at the bar that I thought I would take while waiting for my friend. The server (cocktail waitress?) was talking with the bartender and completely blocking it.. Saw me standing there & didn't move or say anything. She didn't say anything to me at all when I was there, actually. Seemed much more interested in the male customers. Anyway, I sat down when she walked away and the bartender finally acknowledged me, saying "what did you need?" So yeah, not a great first impression at all. Seeing as I wasn't trying to go find a different bar, I stayed. I chose a cocktail from their menu with tea in it and it was gross. After that, I just ordered beer. The bartender gave better customer service once my friend arrived which is odd but whatever. The bar itself is beautifully decorated. It has classic famous paintings on the ceiling, which is a really cool touch (Hence the name 'Art Bar'). Comfortable couches & chairs to lounge in while you are sipping your cocktails. Fortunately for me, I was attending a work happy hour and drinks were free, so I can't speak to the service. There were waiters walking around clearing & asking everyone if they wanted another drink which I thought was really nice. They definitely didn't want anyone to be empty handed.
