The build-your-own omelet is a worthy breakfast, stuffed with two veggies and two meats of your choice. Cheddar, diced onion, and two types of bacon inside three eggs was a winner. Be sure to get some thick bacon slices to go (mango habanero, maple glazed, honey-cured) - always nice to chew on during that nine hour Sunday evening drive back to SoCal. And unlike those anorexic slices that fast food places put on their burgers, you can actually taste this bacon. Open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., they serve lunch too and if you're in 'growling stomach mode', try the Boarrito but be forewarned - this is a pork-fest of a monstrosity that's not designed for consumption by weight watchers or thoroughbred jockeys. A large tortilla filled with ham, sausage, bacon crumbles, pulled pork, guacamole, sour cream, and pico de gallo is then wrapped on the outside with countless slices of more bacon, smothered with cheese sauce and sour cream...now I need to take a nap just thinking about digesting it. It's a massive meal and I feel like the waitress could have positioned me on all fours in front of a feeding trough in order to graze on it. Bacon Nation is located on the D's second floor inside a very clean and bright dining room with lots of booths, a counter, and an ultra-pleasant hostess named Angel. Bacon Nation was a must-stop on our Vegas trip--everything was absolutely delicious. The portions were huge, so big that half our group couldn't even finish their meals. It was super filling and exactly what we needed to recharge. Service was a bit slow, and our bride-to-be didn't receive her food until several minutes after everyone else. Nikki and I went there around lunch time. They serve breakfast all day. Nikki ordered the biscuits with gravy and scrabbled eggs. She has a choice of bacon or sausage in the the gravy she only wanted sausage. The sausage was ground and on the side. Not asked for that way. The sausage was dry and the gravy was thin and not much taste. She didn't eat much. I ordered the D burger. Nothing to write home about. The bacon on it was good. My family and I were visiting Vegas and we were staying in Fremont, so we decided to check out this place since one of our family members was staying at The D. The wait time wasn't too long, we came twice, The first morning it was only 5 of us, the food was great, service was okay, they never brought us extra napkins when twice. The second day we came as a group of 8 and the wait wasn't long either. This time around the food was still good, only thing was that my cousin order a sandwich with a specific type of bacon and they took 15-20 min to get it back to the table while the rest of the family was enjoying g their food and almost done. When you see a place called "Bacon Nation" it's inherently intriguing to say the least. Ever since it opened i wanted to try it.. I went for breakfast so here it goes.... The concept of the café is definitely solid, and I have to say, it was clean and most stylish. However, the service left a lot to be desired. No really. Our water and drinks went unrefilled, and we weren't checked on at all. The only fast part of the service was them picking up the check from us (because it's money ) As for the breakfast itself, it was just okay--truly nothing to write home about. Yeah we went here since we stayed at the D. Convenient but not worth it. The place is on the second floor in the back but close to the elevators. The hostess sat us at a table and I saw a booth open and asked if we could move. She was busy and we took the stuff over there and when she finally saw us, she said that area was closed. She then said she would let us sit there. Kind of weird since there were people next to us in the other booths. After that it seemed like they avoided us. We didn't get the waitress till a long time later. As if she punished us for sitting where we wanted. I wasn't impressed with the name of the restaurant since I didn't even see that many bacon items on the menu. Nothing special. I got the omelet combo since it seemed to be the best price to get what I wanted. It was 3 eggs instead of 2 with the eggs any style. I wanted French toast which I had to order separate. We came to Fremont Street to watch the fireworks with the kids. Located on the Fremont Street and located in the D hotel downtown. They have a quite a number of breakfast and lunch items; we came here for breakfast and the menu is very wide from pancakes, French toast, egg, dishes, omelettes but they're claimed to fame is all these different thick cut bacon strips either with marinade or honey or black pepper. We came here for breakfast, the Mrs. got the French toast she loved, the kids got pancakes, one smothered with bananas, the other one plain with maple syrup. They also have a special breakfast for 10 bucks every day, from 7 to 9. I tried that that special breakfast came with two strips of bacon, one sausage link, two eggs and toast for 10 bucks. Great meal I didn't need all the carbs so I just ate the eggs. bacon was good crispy, sausage was fatty, but flavor good. The kids loved their pancakes and the wife loved her omelette. My server along with a second server recommended the 1/2 pound D burger. The order came quickly. However, the sides dish was incorrect. Additionally, the burger was so dry. The bacon was unedible. I was kind of surprised to see the lunch specials didn't even have bacon on them - that's weird, I'd think bacon would highlight every menu option/ I mean we are at Bacon Nation after all. I ordered a turkey club and my friend had a chicken club and orders a side of tater tots and a slice of thick bacon for us to share. The thick bacon was really the best part of lunch. The sandwiches came with potato salad and you could add fries or tots for $2.50- no substitution. The food came out pretty quick and looked pretty good. However the bacon on the sandwiches wasn't any different than the bacon I make at home and the potato salad tasted like the kind you buy at the grocery store in a big tub. Sadly o wasn't impressed at all with lunch and don't think I'll go back even though the service was good and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. I stay at The D and it's too convenient to not just deal with it when it's 2 minutes away from my room for a Daybreak breakfast special after coming from Reno to work from 9a-3a.
