A friend recommended we stop here for breakfast or lunch on our way to Zion, Utah. We always make a stop in Vegas to stock up on groceries and grab brunch before heading to Zion for camping. The food here is incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious - but they really need to step up their dishwashing and make sure the food is served hot. There's nothing worse than ordering coffee and seeing purple lipstick on the rim of your cup. It makes you want to leave right away. Then comes the inner debate - do you say something and risk being that customer, or just wipe it off and move on? On top of that, getting food that's supposed to be hot but arrives cold is frustrating. You sit there wishing you were at home where you could just microwave it - because the food is that good and would taste even better at the right temperature. Our experience wasn't helped by our waiter, who seemed disinterested after the lipstick incident (same guy mentioned in previous reviews that comes off rude AF/ agreed!). We didn't feel like asking for much after that. On the bright side, one of the waitresses was amazing - she looked like she was carrying the whole place. The chef clearly knows what she's doing because the food coming out of the kitchen was fantastic. That said, attention needs to be paid to cleanliness and serving hot food. There's no excuse for that. Despite these issues, I gave it five stars because the problems are fixable and don't take away from how incredible the food is. For reference, we visited on Friday, January 3rd, in the morning. There was a nearby parking structure and no wait time. The decor is a mix of farm-to-table and modern bistro - nothing overly exciting or disappointing. We were just looking for a good brunch spot, and this place is truly a hidden gem. Stopped by for a quick brunch since we were in the downtown area. The restaurant was full so we had to wait for about 20 minutes before being seated. It has a rustic, darker ambiance and not your usual bright and sunny brunch spots. The menu not too big, but offered enough varieties that we decided to try the biscuit and gravy as well as the corned bee hash. We also got house coffee and they were from mother ship coffee. Food came out quickly, but they were lukewarm and felt like it was already made and just put under a food light to be kept warm. The biscuit was good and soft, but the gravy was a little too salty. The corned beef came in a smaller portion than I expected, and the beef was diced too thin that they didn't have great texture and flavor. Coffee was good, but overall food was not as good as we'd expect. Service was average, the waitress was nice but didn't offer much service besides bringing out initial water and coffee over. Wife ordered biscuits and gravy: EGGSHELLS INCLUDED. Wife explained the dish was barely warm, like they tried warming it up in the microwave and didn't taste good at all. We think the best thing on the menu was the hot tea we ordered, which was store bought. Service, never even got asked if our food was okay. The perfect low key hide-away away from the tourism riff raff! Eat is such a hidden gem! Far away from the strip, nestled in its own little corner downtown. Its small and quaint but very inviting. The food offered here embodies true American cuisine. There are vegetarian options as well as Gluten free options, and I love how the dishes come with a side of fresh strawberries. To sum it up, there's a sign inside that says, "Be nice or leave,". I was good with all of that. I looked over the menu and saw that there was a Tofu Scramble. I just wanted to confirm with the server that all the ingredients and preparations were vegan. He confirmed and I felt reassured. One diner ordered the biscuits and gravy and the other diner ordered the pork chops but with modifications. I was afraid that he was going to be told no, but the server took it in stride and took our order to the kitchen. Our order was ready on time and looked homemade and freshly prepared. I asked for some Chalula and Ketchup and started on my chive potatoes. Crispy, crunchy and tasty. I could have eaten a bowl of those potatoes and would have been content. The other two diners didn't say much so I couldn't gauge if they liked their meals or not. Very tasty brunch place. We came by on a Monday around 10:00. The place was busy and we still sat very quickly. We ordered the Deviled Eggs to share. They were very tasty. The hard boiled egg part is fried with the cream and bacon crumbs on top. Would order again. The bagel sandwich was also delicious. We added avocado. The bagel was soft and warm. The potatoes were ok. They had a good flavor but the texture of some were a bit chewy. The chilaquiles were also good. We enjoyed them. They were our least favorite out of the three items we ordered. Today I had a delicious breakfast for a reasonable price, one of the best places to grab breakfast or lunch, and you have to get off the strip for it. We were walking around the container park and I remembered it was there. We were in a bit of a time crunch and we asked if we could do takeout, the server said no on weekends, but she assured us they are really fast. You had me at Fried Chicken baby! I was just complaining that you can't get real Fried Chicken anywhere in Vegas. Then I got an update from Eventbrite for this event! I would call it a pop- up however the Chef runs this place for Breakfast and is just open for this "One Night Performance"! We came not sure what to expect. We left feeling like family. As soon as we walked through the door, the friendly staff could be seen buzzing around in preparation for the evening, yet they were gracious and greeted us each time they passed by! The spot at EAT is comfy and not cluttered. The Chef was effortlessly moving around directing staff, socializing with guests and putting her approval on plates coming out of the kitchen. I feel fortunate to have scored tickets early as the event was packed, with a wait and several takeout orders were staged for pickup! The food; The Cornbread and Biscuits are amazing and came out fresh and warm, what a great starter! The sides were all good, simple but good. As is appropriate for a meal such as this. I've been coming here since it opened. I've never have experienced such rude behavior from an employee named Mike (tall Caucasian, with long gray hair in a pony tail). Today is the first time i brought my parents and they felt not welcomed and discriminated by him. Whenever I come to Vegas I always make sure to try small local loved spots. I have no clue how EAT hasn't popped up on my radar before, but I'm so glad it did today. I'm staying downtown and was looking for a new (to me) breakfast place within walking distance. After reading some of the reviews I knew I had to give EAT a try today, and I'm so glad I did. Everything about the restaurant impressed me. From the benches out front, to the owner greeting and seating us, the food, and the way the staff all worked together like a well oiled friendly machine. The owner was the one to greet us and seat us, she told us the story about how a local artist made the benches that are out front and just gifted them to her. Said she came to work one day and they were there for her. They have song lyrics engraved into them, and they're beautiful. We ordered the deviled eggs and biscuits and gravy. Both were outstanding! I consider myself a connoisseur of biscuits and gravy, as it's one of my favorite things and it's rare I don't order it if it's on a menu. This is easily one of the best biscuits and gravy I have ever had. The biscuits are the perfect density and fluffiness, the gravy was flavorful but not too heavy. Eggs and bacon were both cooked to perfection. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the food you get. I loved watching the staff work. Everyone helps everyone. A table leaves, anyone available quickly cleaned it, not waiting for a busser or anyone else. There was a sign that said they were celebrating 10 years this year, I hope they're here for at least another 10. Came with some family/friends on Sunday morning around 9. We were afraid there would be a long wait if we went later on. It was a great idea, had no wait for a party of 6 plus a baby. I usually never eat pancakes (as you can tell I went out of my comfort zone lol), but I saw a different table order it and they looked great. The short stack was two actually decent sized pancakes. Definitely enough for a meal. The pancakes were fluffy and SO buttery and delicious. I truly have never had better pancakes in my entire life. One of my friends looked at his mom and said "they taste like grandma's pancakes!" ... that's the ultimate compliment. They also did not disappoint with the extra crispy bacon. My husband ordered the pan fried pork chops with pork gravy, scrambled eggs, and chive potatoes. The pork was thin and perfectly tender and paired perfectly with the gravy. The eggs were cooked the way he loves them- with a little browning on the outside. Just like home cooking!! Loved it. Those chive potatoes??? LORD they were so good! Big chunks of crispy potatoes perfectly seasoned. One friend ordered an off menu special, which was a chicken eggs benedict. I could not repeat everything the server said was in it, but it did sound incredible and had a citrus hollandaise sauce to tie all of the flavors together. The plate was huge and a bit overwhelming but he said he loved it! It was certainly enough for two meals. Another friend ordered the prime rib hash. You check in to be seated and have a full view of the kitchen no matter where you sit. Service was excellent and friendly throughout our meal. Food was delivered quickly. So why 3 stars then, my dining companion had the corned beef hash and found it to be under seasoned. I had the Huevos Motulenos, which had a robust flavor but there was so much sauce that muddled some of the beautiful flavor. But the kicker for me was that it was served to me on a partially cracked plate with a mark on it from either something on that plate or a previous meal that was stuck on it. However, I would be interested to give them another try with their pancakes in the future as long as the plate mishap doesn't happen again. read more

I'll start by saying yes, I'll recommend this spot to anyone looking for a place to eat in Vegas. It's off the strip no need to deal with that headache. It was super accessible by car with street parking. When you walk in, the cafe is the cutest! I love the bright decor and openness of the space. It was definitely not what I was expecting. It took me a moment to decide how I wanted to review Eat. We lived in Las Vegas for several years and Eat was always a breakfast staple for us, when we could get in. We would often see lines waiting for a table any day of the week. Their southern style breakfast was always flavor forward and Chef Natalie is a well renowned name in the Las Vegas area. So it really hurt to make this review. First, the place is still very gorgeous with the simple but nice design. They have stuck with their staple menu. However the rest of our experience didn't hit the spot. First, we enjoyed our first server as she was very nice and answered a lot of questions, but we didn't see her very much other than our beverage order and the check. We had ordered several iced coffees. Then a guy took over and things got real odd. We ordered the deviled eggs (which used to be our favorite), two sausage and gravies and one pork chop. For the pork chop we were a bit confused when he asked for the sides on that item as well if he wanted to add an egg. Which, the item mentioned it came with potatoes and two over easy eggs. Our friend stated potatoes and yes on the eggs and we moved on. When we got our food and he was presented with a BLT we got extra confused. As well as being upset when finding out the fryer was broken so no deviled eggs. Naturally it was a bit odd to have our friend not have their food placed correctly as well as the deviled eggs being out, and were a bit annoyed that our eggs weren't the way we wanted. I was the only one who ordered sunny side up eggs but all of the eggs came out sunny side up. Not a big deal but disappointing. It was also very annoying that the male server returned to give us our check before the pork chops even came out and then tried to make a joke about it, which just left things awkward. This was the last time we saw our servers beside dropping off the pork chops. For the dishes... The biscuits and gravy were very flavorful but under seasoned. I am not sure what it was, but I did end up spending the rest of the day with an upset stomach. I am now assuming it's due to there possibly being dairy in the gravy. I had mentioned to the first server that I was lactose intolerant, but I don't believe they had communicated that to each other during the multi transition of our table. The pork chops for being made on the fly were extra disappointing. They are indeed thin pork chops (which is mentioned) but unfortunately that also affected the texture as they were overcooked and difficult to cut and chew. With all of this occuring as well as the under seasoning on the whole meal we definitely left dissatisfied. After dropping off the food we weren't really checked on which really sucked as I think my friend would have returned the pork chops if given the option. We ordered Two eggs any style apple wood smoked bacon with chive potatoes, prime rib hash New Mexico green chillie pico de gallo and sour dough toast, side of grits and cheese and La Kay's deviled eggs. The deviled eggs were really good but not the best in the area and not as exciting as they looked since they were fried, I expected a bit more from them.. the grits were spot on! The prime rib lacked seasoning on the steak and the salsa on it wasn't spicy or flavorful at all.. the two eggs and bacon were good as also at a breakfast place. The service here was awesome though! Our server was very informative and helpful! It was a hot morning and I brought my water bottle and asked her for two cups of water so I could fill my bottle for walking around all day and she offered to just fill my bottle and put ice in it! Today started with breakfast at EAT in downtown Vegas. Small local joint serving breakfast and lunch. I had the special, Chicken Benedict with citrus hollandaise sauce and my friend had the biscuits and gravy. The Benedict came with spinach, fresh tomatoes and perfectly poached eggs, not to mention chive potatoes.... Sooooo good. The Benedict is only available on weekends. The biscuits and gravy was delicious as well, but my friend had to switch her meal to pancakes as some herb in the gravy did not agree with her. I tasted it and loved it and would order it. The pancakes were fluffy on the inside with nice crispy edges and she tells me the in-house prepared maple syrup butter mix was amazing! Unfortunately, the service here has gone downhill and become, frankly, rude. I've supported this location and the former Summerlin location for years. The Covid Delta variant is raging, we have a renewed mask mandate, and when I called about pickup orders, the hostess said there was no pickup on weekends anymore. That isn't listed anywhere online or on the website. When I pointed out that they state on Google that they offer curbside pickup, she said they don't do that at all. I suggested then they should update that information. It's deceiving to people during a pandemic hoping to support a local business and expecting a business to honor services it lists. Instead of answering me, she decided to become completely silent for a weirdly long while, to the point I said, hello? Then she sarcastically said "alrighty!" When in Vegas.... you still have to eat good! After 2 days of going HAM in the drinks (and in the heat), I figured my body deserved some delicious carbs to restore itself. I mainly came here because I read all the amazing reviews and the Chicken Fried Steak looked absolutely mouth watering. So I pulled up to this spot and paid for the street parking. It was super busy and you can't make reservations ahead of time, so I ended up waiting 35 minutes. I got to the table, already knowing what I wanted (shoutout Yelpist and the menu photos!) - the deviled eggs and the chicken fried steak. Keep in mind there is a weekday and weekend menu, I came on July 5th which was on a Monday and is a holiday. I assumed I could order the Chicken Fried Steak which is on the weekday menu since it was Monday... but Nope! Oh and... the Deviled eggs were sold out :( Not to worry though. I had a back up. I ended up getting the biscuits and gravy with an over medium egg, along with a side of cheese n grits. Although it was not what I had wanted... YAY!!! My tummy was still so so so satisfied. This meal replenished my insides and had me feeling like I could go hard in the drinks again. The biscuits and gravy are probably the best I've had, and yes I ordered extra of that gravy sauce because I like my biscuits wet. Not to mention that this meal COMES with applewood smoked bacon so there's no need to order extra. Gosh!!! Such a good dish. The cheese n grits also go hard. It was perfect. The inside is cute as well, I love the interior color pattern. The waiter was super kind! It's moments like this where I just have to write a review because of how tasty everything was. I don't eat breakfast but when I do, I HOPE it's from here! I am a non-local and decided to try this place yesterday. Items ordered: *Cinnamon Biscuits (5/5) *Deviled Eggs (5/5) *Corned Beef Hash (5/5) The hostess was polite and was able to answer our questions about the menu. It was about a 15-30 minute wait around 1pm. Once we were seated, we ordered right then and there b/c we already viewed the menu by scanning the QR code while waiting. It was only around 10 minutes before the food arrived! I was shocked by the efficiency. The food here made me never want to eat breakfast again in Cali. This brunch/lunch spot is awesome and I can't wait to come try it out again! Already recommended this place to family and friends (both local and non-local). Horrible experience and food not made right. Service was lacking during the entire experience. I stopped by for brunch with a few people and felt the vibe was off. Such a nice lil Sunday brunch spot! We got here at 10 abs surprisingly no wait!!! It's always busy so I guess the key is coming as early as possible! We had a super simple breakfast. $12 for eggs,bacon,potatoes and toast. Super yummy the sourdough toast was thick and butterd and delish! These eggs were extra good! Which is odd cause I usually don't care for them at restaurants. Pancakes, cause how do you come here abs bit get pancakes! They are super thick and three was a really too much for us. Next time we will order 1 as a side. They are so buttery and delish it's a must buy anytime we visit. Service was quick and fast, our bill was like $30 you can't beat it! read more

Parking is tough if you want free parking the parking by the place is paid parking the place itself is not too big and seems like a popular place people waiting to be seated. The breakfast menu has a good amount choices to choose from. I got the biscuits and gravy it was very good. Our server Carissa was awesome the whole staff is friendly.
