I took the first of a new type of class and way of painting. The studio lighting was low with candles on the stations next to our easels. The class was a contemporary painting that included new to me techniques and was inspired with a guided meditation. First we traced "Sacred Geometry" or a flower of life on the blank canvas for healing and transformation. Then a base color for grounding and next a guided meditation (my mom came through) then we to painted blind folded. It was a great experience. Timree is a genius and intentional without being stuffy or strict. I'm a long term paint club member it's great value and this class was priceless for me.

Most of the artists had a seconds box with pieces that were discounted due to cosmetic issues, but were still fully functional! I bought a seconds mug from an artists under the name Salty. My wife paid for a class here as a surprise for our 9th wedding anniversary. A family situation…read morecame up, so we called ahead -- we were told on the phone that they would take us as long as we got there within 10 minutes. We rushed. My wife got out of the car and was at the door inside that window. They wouldn't let her in without me, and I was still parking. I walked in 11 minutes after the start -- one minute past their cutoff. There were maybe four to six people in the room. I explained the family situation involving my son. I told them it was our anniversary. My wife was distraught, and I pleaded with them and tried to reason with them. They turned us away anyway. We weren't asking anyone to slow the class down or stay late -- we would have caught up on our own. My wife left humiliated on the day she had planned as a gift. I get it -- you have to run a business, and you have to start on time. But she was there inside the window you gave us and you wouldn't seat her. It came down to one minute and two people standing in front of you, and you chose the minute. The class started without us. So did the last impression I'll have of this place.

She was incredibly flexible with scheduling and working with me on the event planning. The location was easy to get to in Newport and the studio itself had the perfect amount of space for my group of 7 people. Be aware that you will have to pay for parking, but it's relatively inexpensive and done via app. During the event itself, Jeniece was patient and made jokes which we were very grateful for given that many of us hadn't painted or attempted visual art since high school. She provided the final product options and we voted on which we'd all complete. She was very attentive in the lesson -- she both demonstrated and walked around the class to see how we were progressing. She was incredibly positive with her feedback. I would recommend Jeniece and Art + Soul to anyone doing a work team event. Her flexibility and positivity were exactly what we needed!

My 7 years old boy started with Artist Lab since he was 3 years old. We have been seeing all the…read moregreat programs and the teachers they have at the Artist lab Their programs are fun, practical, and easy to follow. The teachers are very patient and good at bringing the best out of the kids. Seems to me, those teachers have a lot experiences working with kids, they know how to make the kids working hard in a fun and motivated environment. All their teachers information are posted, I think all of them have art degrees. The Artist Lab also have events for kids showcase their productions which my son is absolutely looking forward to. During pandemic, my boy joined their online classes and went back onsite classes once they reopen. They have the dividers between seats. Kids and teachers are required to wear masks all times. They also measure the temperature every time. Parents are no longer allowed to go in inside, but I think I also saw some dyson air purifier machines on the floor. So I feel very confident sending him back with all the safety measurements they take in place.
