I decided to get a private beginner ceramics lesson for my mom and I as something fun to do. The private lessons and classes are really affordable! The staff was very quick responding to all inquiries and questions before my class. Our teacher Alexis was so helpful and friendly. She first did a demonstration and then walked us through all of the steps. In our 1 hour private lesson we really learned a lot about the basics. Starting from scratch you definitely won't be able to make any masterpiece in just an hour class. At the end of the class you can recycle your clay, have your creation fired with a glaze for a little bit extra, or come back for another class to glaze it yourself. They have open studio for very low rates an hour, you can use their clay and wheels. There definitely seems to be a community of artists who use this space. But even as a beginner I felt very welcome here. My mom and I are both excited to go back! I would highly recommend this place.

I was principally interested in the Hudson River landscape painters of which there is an impressive number; I was not to be disappointed, from the giants to the lesser known Hudson River Landscape Atrist, many are represented there. I was, also, quite surprised to see the number of Aaron Draper Shattuck paintings on display, a New Hampshire artist who I have long admired. The Loeb Museum is fascinating; you can easily spend an entire day and merely scratch the surface of this incredible collection. Located on this very beautiful picturesque Vassar College Campus, the Francis Lehman Loeb is worth a visit anytime of year, the campus setting and museum is truly a visit you will long remember.

It is ranked number four of the top ten community colleges in New York. The campus is very diversed. There are many different clubs and sports for my daughter to choose from. The grounds are very clean. The dorm rooms are pretty spacious with a mini kitchen in each dorm space, no community bathrooms thank goodness. The cost of attendance is about 16k per year that including the room and board, but not books. This is a wonderful option for parents that have children who do not qualify for TAP or PELL (us). I'm hoping my daughter decided to go to this college. It's a perfect transition from high school to college.

Update - it got worse. When leaving the building to go to the next part of the tour, the guide did…read morenot wait for me. I took the elevator down and they just took the group on the stairs and took off without waiting. So I had to leave. I took the issue to admissions and they had nothing to say. If you have any mobility needs don't go here. Nope! Came here for a campus visit and the guide mumbled something and then took the group off at a fast pace, to climb three (or four) flights to the lecture room. Zero access for people with disabilities. I raised with them (as it was not accessible for us) and the first question asked was "did you fill out the form for people with disabilities?" Yes we did. But that is all you got? They say in other reviews that this college is too "woke." How about not woke enough?

Once I signed up, the invoices began to come much in more expensive than had been shared. The masking policy was misrepresented as well. I was told one thing on the phone before registration and fund another thing upon our arrival to the first class. This was important to my decision to register. I was told that make up sessions would be applied to the account for any missed classes and that those would never expire. I was also told that adjusting regular sessions to other days in the week was allowable with notice if needed without penalty. However, when I did this last month for November, they marked it as use of make up sessions and will not adjust. So they are stealing from me as I paid for those sessions but will not allow me to use them as indicated. I paid for December sessions and planned to use make ups for others. I have now been told I should take my kids someplace else. I have not been refunded my December payment and my kids will have had no lessons. I was not allowed to watch the services being provided to my children and have no idea what they have learned. I had to wait in the car. When I asked, I was given a hand written, undated, unsigned page with some note about what the kids were to have learned. In two months, my oldest does not even know a scale on the piano. I don't know that my kids received any music lesson services. This company uses unclear and poor communication, does not honor its word and seems to want to take payments but not provide the services.
