Art Walkers replaced the engine in my '98 Mustang Cobra. They were great to work with on this relatively complex project. There was a lot of back and forth, and logistics dealing with the new engine. Communications were excellent, Jerry did not hesitate to keep me updated on all that was going on. There were a couple of glitches, as you might expect, but they were ironed out. I have had some recent repetitive issues with my vehicle that have required multiple tows back to the dealership for repairs. During these issues I had dealt with over 7 different towing companies in various ways, with the majority of them were extremely poor in regards to reliability, punctuality, professionalism, and vagueness on timelines. My latest issue requiring towing had requests dropped or denied by 4 different tow companies leaving me stranded for over 12 hours. Then comes in Glen from Art Walker towing. He was extremely professional, friendly, but most of all understanding of my situation. He was knowledgeable and transparent on the availability of his drivers and trucks and his explanations gave me a realistic understanding of his capabilities and availability. Once we arranged a meetup time to pick up the vehicle it was smooth sailing from there on out. The driver, Brian, also extremely friendly and professional, showed up 15 minutes EARLY, (a first for me) he helped push the vehicle into position to load on the truck, we were loaded and on our way in 20 minutes. Whenever my car is due for a state inspection, I always take it to Art Walker. This no frills place has always been straight forward with me about my car, I never felt like they were trying to up-sell me. Yeah, it's a tiny place and you should definitely expect to drop off your car at this busy place. But for me it has always been worth the wait. The last time I was there, I was standing in line behind a lady and overheard her saying that they saved her a lot of money on a repair job for her van. I needed a tow today and Rae showed up very soon after my call to Art Walker's. She was so absolutely friendly and helpful, not to mention knowledgeable. I was very surprised by the price, $70, for a decent distance. I'm quite sure it would have cost well over that anywhere else. I have experienced some pretty terrible customer service with companies lately I was beginning to think it was the new normal, I actually signed up for Yelp just to start calling companies out, I didn't think I'd actually be writing a good review! They took apart my car to inspect and then failed it after they broke a part off of my car and then they didn't even do my alignment that I asked them to do in the first place instead they wanted $800 from me in order for them to do an inspection. Which I don't understand because all the parts were $20 or less but the labor was $95 for each part when even some of the work was for my light bulbs to be replaced. I will never go here again or recommend this place to anyone instead tell them to steer clear or they will get ripped off. read more

Will get you for every dime they can. Do not trust them and their work is faulty. You'll be back in for the same thing they just "fixed" shortly and not to mention they're unreasonably priced. I was recommended to come here by my coworkers and have been happy ever since. I moved here from Chicago where I used to have a good friend take care of all my auto needs. So finding a mechanic I can trust is worth everything. Recently I went to Midas just for an oil change since Art's is kinda far from me. Next day I had knocking in my tires. Midas tells me I need new bearings to the tune of 500.00. Took it to Art's who took everything apart drove it many times and found out I didn't need anything. May have been a stone from all the water and flooding we had from a hurricane. Honesty is priceless when it comes to your car. I recommended these down to earth guys all day! read more

When my car decided to take a stand and demand a repair immediately, I wandered the Internet and phone lines trying to figure out the best way to get it to an auto doctor. Treadquarters was nearby and recommended Art Walker's towing services. I called them and got an old-timey cheerful gentleman who assured me they took both cash and cards, and said I would have someone arrive in half an hour. Possibly early, at least on time, Sparky arrived! Not only was he funny and pleasant, but he showed me how the flatbed tow system loaded the car. Once in the truck and on our way, he told me about his fun seasonal work as a Santa (he completely looks the part; no fake beards here) and showed me pictures with kids enjoying their Christmases. Once we arrived he swiftly offloaded my car, explained their billing system, and rode off into the horizon. I got in an accident and trusted this company because the VB police department called them out for me. I was told that it would cost me $140 to tow it to their shop and that my insurance company would cover it. The owner said that I wouldn't be charged a holding fee as long as I removed the vehicle from the lot by 24 hours. He also offered to take the truck off of my hands if I released my title along with the $140. No thank you, Sir. The next day my price jumped up to $265. I would recommend avoiding this company at all costs! read more

Do not go here total rip-off. Happened to me twice this year. I'm the type of person to fix my car myself and I'll take it to a shop when I have exhausted all means. so earlier this year April 2019 my car will not start and I replaced a whole bunch of things including my fuel pump. After finally giving up I had it towed to art walkers. they called me and told me I have a bad fuel pump and will cost $900 to replace it with a brand new one. at this point I was just frustrated and just one of my car on the road so I agree to it. Little do they know I just replace the fuel pump brand new and I purposely didn't tell them. so I told them to save the fuel pump that you take out that supposed to be bad so I can return it, which I did. car started after the fix but I believe they changed it with a used one because it takes a long time to crank before it starts up indications of a weak fuel pump. Fast forward to December 2019 this year I'm getting a check engine light. again I tried numerous things replace multiple multiple things before I take it to a shop. one of the things I replace was a mass airflow sensor which is the number one cause for my check engine light problem so I obviously ordered one and replace it myself. To replace one of my car is literally to Phillip screws in a plastic connector 5-minute job. again I take it to art walkers because it didn't fix my problem so I take it to them to get it diagnosed and to let me know what I need to get it fixed. they call me the next day and tell me the mass airflow sensor is bad and it'll cost $340 to replace. again I just replace my mass airflow sensor a week ago and it's two screws and a plastic connector 5-minute job. I told them about it I'm going to test a Mass Air Flow sensor when I get home to determine if it's really bad or not. I just finished testing at myself and the mass airflow sensor is good this place is a total rip-off. read more

The WORST SERVICE WE EVER received. My wife of 34 years took our new Jeep there with the top off. We are lifelong residents of Virginia Beach. It started raining and after inspecting they put it outside in the pouring rain. Funny thing is they said they are too busy to keep it inside after she rejected a 45.00 up sale. The Jeep was drenched with water damage. When complaint brought forward the owner is a coward and would not come talk to us. The workers(henchmen) have attitudes the size of their fat bellies. They got fat off of taking advantage of good people in my honest opinion and experience. Only a fool would take their vehicle to this place IMHO. BEWARE! read more

The have always done above average work and I've always considered their prices to be fair, however, I recently used their service to plug a tire. I was charged over $50.00. If I was informed of the cost before the work as done, I would have gone elsewhere. read more
