Knowing that I need frames for at least 5 paintings I stopped by to look at what is available. Right of the bat I was told they work by appointment only. I told the lady ok, can I just look at the wall of frames and see if anything interests me and I want to make an appointment. Because if I don't see anything I like then what is the point to make an appointment and drive back here from where I live. So I found a frame that I thought was interesting. I pulled out my phone to find a picture of the painting that I was thinking to match it with. The lady cam up to me and said no pictures please and asked me to leave and make an appointment. I was shocked as it is not like I need her help to determine if it would work for my painting. She had no clients in the store and while I am seating here in the parking lot writing this review for the past 15 min no one came in for the appointment either. How do you do business with people like that? Seems like she just didn't care. All I can say it is probably not her business because otherwise it just wouldn't make any sense. He picked the table up and returned it. For those of you who do not know what a drum table is, the center of the table goes around. Mine was badly broken causing the top to be very tilted. I told Mr Burkett, if he could not fix the table to turn and just have the top be connected to the part that turns, I would have him do the job. He came over and looked at it and said he was pretty confident he could fix it. I also have my grandmother's secretary and one of the doors was too warped to close, he fixed that too and now it closes perfectly.

I dropped off a Chinese scroll for repair back in October 2022. I was told it would be ready in a month, in time to surprise my husband for our one year wedding anniversary in November (it was the Paper anniversary and the scroll belonged to his late grandmother). I called the day before it was promised - no response. Deadline passed. Further calls and emails either went unanswered or he would pick up, say "I'll call you back" and then never would. He finally said there'd been a death in the family (which made me feel terrible, but I'm not sure why he couldn't have said that the first time I called??) I waited months. Christmas came and went. So did January. When I tried checking in (about once a month or so) he seemed not to be able to remember the project. I finally got my scroll back after saying that I was driving over to pick it up the next day, finished or not. Then mysteriously it became ready. It looks . . . ok, I guess? Some of the things that were promised (such as doing paint touch-ups) were not done but at this point I just wanted my scroll back since it had such deep sentimental value. But this entire experience was a huge waste of time & money and a giant source of stress for me. Very unprofessional, would not recommend.

I can see why the staff put up flyers stating to be mindful with how many books the customers get as they're priced pretty low, allowing you to collect a decent amount. After visiting nearby ZavaZone with our seven-year-old daughter, we stopped into Second Story for a few minutes, which easily turned into an hour. Every book is 50% off. We left with 15 books for just under $21. The books are well organized and maps help navigate visitors to each section, but know that the warehouse's narrow book aisles can get cramped. It adds to the appeal! There are even harder-to-find rooms with other items like posters for sale. They also sell CDs and DVDs. Staff are helpful. I lost my wallet and within an hour a staff member messaged me on Facebook letting me know they found it and it was safe at the checkout desk. If you have used books, Second Story Books buys them from people.
