I forget the name of the sandwich I had, but it was hot soprosatta (sp)prosciutto fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers on amazing bread. Family owned business with a solid food quality. I survived on their sandwich for last few months. I love chicken and their chicken cutlet was the best I have tasted nearby. Their bread is so fresh and it was perfect with their freshly fried chicken cutlet. It is owned by the father and two sons who are so friendly. Stopped in for lunch out of convenience because I had a meeting across the street. Wonderful spot. I got there before the lunch rush and the service was quick and informative. What a Great deli with tons of Italian delicasies. I got an Italian Combo on a sub and it was really delicious. They offered either sweet or hot peppers which was nice. There could have been more meat, and there were no onions, but I'm splitting hairs. What I really like is they put plenty of oil and vinegar. The staff were really friendly. The place was CLEAN which is a huge + for me. I walked in and ordered and had my sandwich in less than 5 minutes. The place was BUSY, but runs like a top - extremely efficient! You could tell the staff take pride in their work. There were several table to eat in, which I did. The tables aren't crammed on top of each other- also a plus for me. Overall this deli is worth going out of your way for and I will certainly be back for a return visit, especially after seeing all the panini sandwiches available! I wouldn't come here. I've been here many times and the owners are pushy. The food is OK. I wasn't in here for years, but I can't say that I used to get my haircut there and the same shopping centers in Italia bars and I used to get my laundry done there so realistically, I can say That I wouldn't come back one positive thing I can say is that they make the best sausage, egg and cheese and have the most amazing cheeses and the most amazing cold cuts. hands down the best italian Deli around. They know how to make a sandwich that's filled from edge to edge not just the center of the bread, with fresh ingredients. You will not be disappointed. I have several favorite hero's which include the Chicken cutlet, lettuce, tomato, mayo, salt and pepper with America cheese melted on top. That's my go to But the turkey, Swiss with coleslaw and Russian dressing is also so good. Customer service is amazing and they treat you like family. Went here for the first time today and got the best panini I've ever had. I think to call it a deli misrepresents what to expect walking in. The space is big, roomy, and meticulously kept. Everyone behind the counter was happy, friendly, and helpful. They have freezers full of every ravioli you can think of (I can't wait to try mine), imported Italian groceries, ready to go options like soups and sauces, and a case full of tons of amazing looking options. I got the "yo cuz" panini which was absolutely incredible! They have tables and chairs so you can eat inside. I know this is a small thing but they brought the sandwiches right over to the table on beautiful dishes - which was such a classy touch. The prices are incredibly fair as well. I usually go to A&S because that's the best place I could find in the area. Arthur Ave deli beats them in price and quality. Do yourself a favor and give them a try - thank me later. What a disappointment! The day before Easter they close 20 minutes before they advertise ! I called to ask what time are u closing today . They say 4 pm . I arrive at their door at exactly 3;40 pm to buy what I needed for my holiday gathering for Easter. There are workers inside and they locked the door! How aweful! Not neighborhood friendly ! If I could give zero stars, that would be my preference. Mozzarella was tough and stringy, reminiscent of day old mozzarella. I believe it was left in salted water for hours to arrive in that state. I used to work at a deli and have a lot of experience and I can say these guys are organized, fast, and very friendly. They had my sandwich ready before I even grabbed my drink! Food was delicious, you can taste the quality and care they put into their food, and they presented the sandwich well. The Hammer is a great specialty, would totally go here again. Chicken Cutlet was crispy, eggplant was flavorful, lettuce and tomato were fresh and crisp. Exactly how a sandwich should be made. Storewise, it is clean, tidy, and the menu is large and readable. First, be careful you don't go when they run out of hero bread. Only Keizer rolls and sliced bread. Second, don't be put off when they couldn't care less when they tell you they are out of sub bread. Third, when you even consider having your "meatball wedge" on a "roll", do t be put off if the guy behind the counter asks you if you have time to wait because he has to heat up sauce. Fourth, don't be surprised when you say ok we will come back earlier next time they don't care one bit you're leaving. Not the Arthur Ave I grew up with. On the real Arthur avenue they never run out of bread and welcome you to have something else if the ARE out of something. These boys must be doing pretty well to not give a flying "shoot" about you.
