This place is constantly making the best foods. The food is stupendous, delicious, flavorful, fun, professionally made, wonderfully crafted with fresh fresh fresh ingredients. They even pop into the grocery store next door to them frequently to buy fresh ingredients as they prepare food, nothing frozen or sub-quality. Almost unheard of in the dining experience today. The chef who prepares the food is always making the most mouth watering, addicting meals and appetizers. The food looks equally delicious. It smells amazing. All made to order and the portions are generous. They are so friendly. We have literally never had a bad experience with them in over 4 years. Even if a mistake was made on an order, they have always been courteous and apologetic, they immediately remedy the problem in which everyone is happy. I just love the owners...I think Brewster is very lucky to have them in their town. We have several favorites on their menu but honesty, we haven't found a dud yet. Their hollandaise sauce is scrumptious and addictive!! I could eat it on an apple. The salads are fresh and creative. The specials are always a treat. For the prices, which seem a little high....i don't think they are. They provide fresh food, prepared by a legit professional who has common sense and a great knowledge of flavors and flavor combos. They give generous potions and you never feel like you were ripped off when devouring their creations. I would eat here daily if we could. We came here as a midway pit stop for lunch on our road to Ski Butternut. The location was perfect, right off the main road and there's parking right out front. Once inside, the atmosphere was friendly and pleasant. Spacious enough for multiple tables and very kid friendly. The waiters were very attentive to you and your family, they made sure to check in when they had a chance on anything you might need. The skillet and crispy chicken sandwich was great! The skillet came hot and topping it off with fresh avocado just hits the spot. The crispy chicken sandwich was also delicious, chicken was super crispy and the tangy sauce they added was a very nice touch. We also ordered a strawberry waffle and the kids devoured it. The best breakfast Ive had in a long time. I was so happy they offered a caffeine choice besides black coffee. I was able to order a nice looking hazelnut cappuccino. First my Dad's breakfast he got something I think called 2 by 2. He got two eggs his way; two sausage links, and two fluffy pancakes. My brother got scrambled eggs, hash browns, corned beef hash, and toast. Finally my breakfast was a french omelet which had ham, bacon, onions, peppers and cheese. It came with toast and a mini cornbread casserole. I also ordered a homemade corned beef hash to share with my Dad. All of us loved our breakfast not one complaint at the table. Eggs were cooked well yet still fluffy. The homemade corned beef hash has pieces of corned beef, was crispy on the outside and minimal grease. I can imagine this spot has to be very busy on a weekend. Luckily, we went on our day off during the week The restaurant has only about four or five spots for parking. Luckily there is a busy diagonal across the street that looks pretty empty that could be used for parking. This restaurant also offers lunch, dinner, and pizza. Had a great breakfast in Brewster at this small diner/pizzeria next to Kobacker's Market. Service was great, we were seated immediately and got refills on coffee often, which is the mark of a good diner. My partner and I ordered two skillets, I got the special Maduro Skillet ($23) which came with skirt steak, black beans, plantains, cheese, scrambled eggs and hash browns while my partner got the Farmer's Skillet with bacon, ham, sausage and sliced avocado. Our ordered came hot on a cast iron skillet and were absolutely delicious, and filling. My skirt steak was tender and well seasoned, and the hash browns were hot but I wish they were crispier. Overall a great comfort food breakfast. The side cornbread casserole was also delicious- super rich with butter but tender crumb and a good sweet corn taste. I saw many orders of their sweet breakfasts pass by and would love to come back to try their pancakes/french toast. Terrible service, didn't get to try the food. Popped in on my way from CT to Somers, because I wanted to have breakfast with a mimosa. First the server denied me a table by the window, even though the place was nearly empty, there were at least theee tables by the window. Then she denied they had almond milk even though I saw it in the fridge when I walked in, then she acknowledged it. Finally, seeming pretty annoyed, asked me for an ID when ordered a mimosa, I'm way over 40 and don't remember the last time I was asked for an ID at a restaurant. Unfortunately, my physical ID card stayed in my pool bag. Although, I offered a photo of my ID I keep on my phone that I present everywhere when I don't have physical card on me. She didn't care, just said she could not serve. I walked out. Never had such a poor experience to have some breakfast- not worth the stress and aggravation, I just drove to another restaurant where I got my breakfast with a mimosa :) read more

I'm a traveling social worker and on the rare occassion I have a gap in my schedule, I love supporting small local businesses. I saw on a previous review that this cute place was now serving dinner, so I stopped in. I'm so glad I did! Lucky I was there early, as the place picked up and the take out counter got busy too. I was expecting a "diner like" menu, and was totally surprised a full dinner menu was available too. My chicken piccata and mashed potatoes were delicious! I ordered a side of spinach, and it was cooked just the way I like it at home, with lots of garlic and just done enough that it wasn't soggy. The bread and sauce was absolutely yummy. My waitress was super busy manning the phones and counter too, but was friendly and helpful. The holiday decor and life sized Santa made the entry extra festive. To top it off, the bathroom was spotless and while it sounds silly, to me it's a good indication of the care taken behind the scenes. We decided on the chicken Caesar wrap and the Brewster turkey wrap. So fresh, so tasty and so satisfying. I had my wrap with a salad on the side. Every item in the salad was fresh. My husband had the turkey wrap and it was equally as fresh. His French fries were crispy too. It did take awhile to get our wraps, but it was well worth the wait. Our lunch was handled with care and not thrown together. I know I keep using the word fresh, but lately it hasn't been the case at some places. The servers were friendly and they are working hard . Very different take on breakfast and lunch, just 'different type' of offerings -- very healthy selections! Some things priced a little out-of-whack but mostly within reason I suppose. Had a great mimosa in addition to brunch and again, pleasantly surprised of this little hidden gem -- and it is 'little.' I've heard it's a disaster on the weekend -- there's barely any place to wait indoors for a table. The wait staff 'seem' to rush you to order, pay and leave (in my opinion). I felt that way at least. I visited Country Kitchen today around 4:20 p.m. This was my second visit. My first experience was exceptional, which is why I decided to return for lunch. The waiting staff was very polite and welcoming. When I arrived, I noticed only three people in the restaurant. I stood at the front for a few minutes before a male waiter acknowledged me. I asked if I could sit anywhere and pointed to a table, and he told me yes. I then went to the restroom to wash my hands. When I returned to my table, I was approached by a woman--who I later saw behind the cash register--who told me in a very rude tone, "You don't just come in and sit down where you want." I explained that I had already asked the waiter and was told I could sit there, but instead of clarifying, she confronted me with an attitude. The food and service from the waitstaff were very good, but the management needs serious improvement. That is not the proper way to address a guest. A simple question to her staff before speaking to me would have avoided this unpleasant situation. read more

Have been here twice and each time really liked it-it is no frills but exactly what you want when getting tasty and affordable food. It has the vibe of a diner/deli when it comes to the menu and you can get breakfast anytime of the day/night which is awesome. The layout is very simple and nothing fancy which is fine. The service is fantastic and the waitstaff is very friend. The food is a very fairly price with a nice varied menu. Everything comes out fresh and made to order and it is the feel good type of place where all the food tastes homemade. I had the chicken soup earlier (tasty and delicious) this evening along with the Southeast Chopped Salad and I added Avocado and Grilled Chicken--the salad was fresh and tasty--really enjoyed it and there was ton of fresh chicken on it. My friend had the "Big Boy" Roast Beef Sandwich which he said was very flavorful and the sandwich came on Garlic Bread Ciabatta which was amazing. I've been there 3 times. Had the meatloaf and potatoes dish the last time and it was delicious. Good homestyle cooking. The portions are generous, too. So why only 3 stars? Because the service needs a lot of improvement. The hostess, who, from my understanding is somehow connected to the owner, is gruff and unpolished. Rude and obnoxious. She always acts like she's doing you a favor and it makes one feel uneasy. Honestly, she makes me not want to come back. Then theres the waitress. Nice girl, but doesnt speak a word of English and can't communicate. She just looks confused whenever you ask her for something. She usually has to call the hostesss over to help (oh no!). And One single woman has this joint running all by herself with the help of a newbie waiter who was very cute and very friendly. He still needed to learn the routine absolutely necessary during busy brunch time. So if this woman is on the payroll she deserves part of the profits! The food is good. Hash brown home made and delicious. The poached eggs to die for. The cornbread a special mix with real corn. Coffee is good and prices are reasonable. The parking for this restaurant is horrible. But that's New York! The restaurant itself is also quite small. Smaller than I got the impression of from the Yelp reviews. Came here with my mom for brunch. The food was good. It came fairly quickly and tasted right. Nothing to write home about because it is just breakfast food. The service was a little below par. Not super friendly there but also not the worst service we ever got. I think the thing I'd say about this place is that it is average. Not amazing but not the worst. Would I go back? Maybe if the place I actually wanted to go was closed. But I wouldn't make a special trip. read more
