This is more of a pick up and go spot. They have some stools but there's dine in seating. Parking was not difficult to find. The slices are massive and bigger than your average pizza. This place used to be serving good pizza. These are very pricey pizza $34 for a pie. However, we thought it was worth it as the pizza tested great. However, that's no more the case. The pizza crust is 50% thinner than earlier. The pizza itself does not taste good. Redusing the quantity makes it a very pricey and unaffordable pizza with no taste as such. Artichoke pizza is one of my favorite non traditional pizzas to get in NYC so when I saw they were opening one in New Brunswick I was definitely excited. I ordered a large artichoke pizza to go. If you don't know, their large sized pizza is much larger than your normal pizza spot. At first glance it looked just like the original in NY. The issue with takeout though is that the crust gets a little soggy (which it was when we got home). To make up for this I heated it up in a pan and it was as good as new with a perfectly crispy crust. The artichoke topping was very rich and creamy. My only critique was that it was a little salty but if you have a small piece of crust with each bite or break off the crust and dip it in the artichoke it makes it way more balanced. Overall I would recommend this place. If you're craving artichoke pizza and don't feel like going to NY or Hoboken I wouldn't hesitate to go here. read more

So I hate to do this because I actually was super excited for the artichoke pizza to open after having gone to another location of theirs in brooklyn. I was a bit disappointed by the quality of the food. As far as service and ambiance go, it was all around pretty good. Staff is very friendly, prices are reasonable, and it was done fairly fast. However, the largeness of these slices does not make up for the lack of quality flavors and freshness!! There are many other pizza places in new brunswick with similar sized pizza that is 2x as good so I don't really know if its worth coming here unless you something special. The artichoke slice itself was good, but very saucey and the artichokes tasted a bit sour! My friend got the Sicilian and the Margherita and said the sicilian slice was wayyy better. So at this point in time I've come to artichoke pizza several times, located right next to hidden grounds. It's in a decent spot on Eastern Ave in New Brunswick. When I first heard the prices for the slices I thought it was a little much. Around $7 a slice made me think inflation had hit an all-time high. However, when I first went there my wife really wanted to try it specifically of the artichoke slice and I figured if it would make her happy. What's a few extra bucks a slice. Well I'm glad we tried it because the slices are not only really good. They are also ginormous. Since coming here the first time we have been back at least once a week to get a slice or two for a lunch on the weekend. We have a newborn and anything we can do to make our lives a little easier is worth the extra expense including picking up lunch every now and then. As a person can normally eat two to three slices, two slices of their pizza would be a lot. I will typically have one slice for lunch and that is enough to keep me associated. Of all the slices I have tried the artichoke, the Staten Island are two of the ones I like the most. There is also a crab slice I've had. Once that out of morbid curiosity I tried and was also up there and was way better than I thought it would be. As there's quite a following for Artichoke Basille's, and they haven't quite made their official debut, i wanted to try it before the college kiddies get back and the line trails out the store and you have to wait 2 hours for a taste. This is a review in their soft opening time. There were only 2 guys working the oven / counter, but they were still steady. Get there while you can ! It goes up against an entire street / town of pizza on Easton Ave and they stand out based upon the quality of the pizza. This is a small location that has been rehabbed and gutted to reflect the Artichoke Basille Pizza brand / style. Is there tons of seating? No, this is New Brunswick, standing counter space (with perhaps a couple stools if u'r lucky enough to get'em). Make note of the classic leg lamp, or you might "...poke your eye out w a slice of pizza..." if you're not careful with their L A R G E R slices. With the place being so tiny, I wonder where they keep their extra dough, cuz as we all know; the older the dough (longer the ferment) the better the pizza, makes me worry if they could possibly sell out if they've not prepped / stored. They offer full sized pies at an 18" or 16" size. My opinion, go big or don't go at all, get a pie, and get it fresh, it'll be worth the price for the quality. Their single slices are a bit larger than the 18" and they tout that as a selling point for them. The single slices are reheated, not bad but for the full experience get a full pie made fresh and eat it crisp and hot. They also have a 2 slice with beverage deal that's their supersized slices if u cant get a couple folks together to manage the pie. Cheese slice: A goto slice for a classic! it's light, crisp, and has a great feel and crunch. Their dough formulation is airy and while you might not get a hard char, i'm sure it could be asked for. the sauce is tasty goodness, bright fresh and pairs well on the cheese which doesn't leave you dripping with grease on their slices. Artichoke slice: If you could make spinach and artichoke dip on a pizza this would be it. It's their signature slice and it's phenomenal. If you like creamy goodness for a white pie this is gonna be a solid goto. The perimeter crust on this slice is like a bread stick which when eaten alone, you can taste a slight fermentation in their dough (a good thing as an ideal would be a 72 hr ferment) Grandma slice: this pizza had your touch of basil, a fresh bright sauce and a typical grandma yum that you'd look for in a slice of grandma, slightly better than your typical. Will I swear off the other pizzerias in the area? hhmm depends on how my pockets feeling at the time. However for a quality slice where i don't have to travel to Coniglio's in Morristown, Delorenzo's in Robbinsville, Prima in Somerville, or DeLucia's in Raritan, this will be a new local collegiate goto setting the standard for pizza. read more

The place looks nice and staff is friendly. I adore artichoke pizza but this didn't taste right and it upset my stomach. I'm guessing it was sitting out for too long, and tasted too cheesy, with a weird sour/bitter aftertaste. Hardly any artichoke taste. And it barely includes spinach, so it's mostly just an extremely cheesy slice of pizza. My stomach is weak, so that could be why I didn't like it. If the slice was fresher, I'd be able to stomach it. Fair warning to those stopping by. If this isn't an issue, then you might enjoy this spot. It's expensive, but the slice is giant. read more
