Again, at time of illegal tow (I was outside my residence before he backed up to my car presented key and offered to immediately move it, he chose to not communicate at all) he then ran my legs over with the flat bed on private property. To make matters worse, after paying $235 for my car I was verbally assaulted by the same driver. Rude and unprofessional staff. I called on Nov 24 at 8am and some guy answered and told me no one would be in the office but that it would reopen Friday and the total would be $160. Well, when I got here Nov 25 for my vehicle they came up with a ridiculous total of $315 and claim no one spoke to me (I showed proof of being on the phone with THEIR OFFICE NUMBER !!!) and said If I want to argue with the lady there about the total / opening on thanksgiving day, to go for it. Called into our subdivision by Streamwood police department at 1230 am today for a vehicle fire and towed it away and never cleaned up the scene lots of glass and melted car parts and debris left near our storm drain that goes to our pond! It was the tow truck drivers responsibility to clean area and tow. We cleaned it up and wasn't my car I did for my neighborhood. I'll never use this company or Recommend them. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would! This business is horrible. In may I got into an accident and the company was called to tow my car. The tower was so rude. It was my first accident so I didnt know how it goes so I was asking him questions and he was rude. Then when we were driving back to the lot he pulls over and jumps out of the truck while I sit there to go help in another crash. He did not say anything just left me. I was crying and thank god the cop was there who was there on my accident and drove me to the station. The kicker was the auto shop I took my car to their shop could not start work because the jerk of a towman had my keys in his pocket. When I called to ask if they could drive them to the stop they told me no and I'd have to wait. I told him that was not my fault but he wouldn't assist me any further and told me hed drop them in the mail. Even my auto body shop (ACR in palatine... Amazing btw) tried calling too, but nothing. Word of advise never use this place, they are unprofessional, rude, and they're the biggest thieves, they quoted me one price then once they picked up the vehicle they charged double. I made sure to double check the price when i called them to get the vehicle picked up and then they still doubled the price. when i tried to call them back they said either i pay or they take the vehicle to their impound lot then i would have to pay storage fee and the tow back. literally the worst place i've ever dealt with. read more

A WORD OF CAUTION My truck was towed by Artie's due to a mechanical failure. That day they could not deliver my truck to Carol Stream as it was "outside of their service area" The next day however, they could, so long as i paid an additional towing fee and additional per mile charges. In addition, my truck, towed around 7pm, and picked up the following morning by 10am, was billed for 2 days of lot fees. As a mechanic, I knew better when I saw the driver hook my truck, THAT THIS DRIVER HAS NO IDEA WHAT HE WAS DOING!!!! but since the vehicle was broken in the roadway, I had no choice but to get it hooked and out of where it was. Additional damage happened to the truck as a result of this driver. This company is a greasy, inconsiderate hack job of a towing operation. I would not recommend by any means, if Streamwood or Elgin explain they are calling a local tow for your vehicle, politely ask that they call any other company. read more

Terrible experience. The lady on the phone identified herself as the dispatcher but refused to give her name. Terrible, rude, unprofessional customer service...but don't worry! If going through an insurance company you're not their real customer! Called my insurance provider to cancel and reschedule with any other service but Artie's and the lady had already called to cancel. When my insurance provider got back on the phone they were even frustrated. Would never recommend a company who is rude and unprofessional to "customers" when they're clearly in a terrible position for even needing the service.
