I contacted this bakery in October over email with a quote inquiry and to see if they were capable…read moreof doing this cake-- they promptly responsed saying they were capable of doing this cake for a reasonable price for the original 100 guests (~~$730). I was excited and told them I needed to discuss it with my Fiancé and we were still solidifying the guest list so we would be in contact when we had a better idea of the amount of people, and that my wedding was 6 months away. (A groomsman recommended this bakery, so we were going to go with them because of my fiance). November, December, I attempted contact over 5 times-- to request an updated quote with a new guest amount of 180, no response each time. I continued to attempt to contact them each month after, until finally having to go in person to talk with them. they told me that the poison who did the quotes was out, but if I put my deposit down, and started my file, they would GUARANTEE call tomorrow morning with the estimate. So, they took a $350 deposit, and ensure they would call The Next Morning GUARANTEE . The next morning, no call. The next week... no call or contact.... I got so frustrated and upset, I went online and looked up cake tier sizes and Serving amounts MYSELF, and sent ANOTHER email saying, Just give me a price quote for this cake tiering with lemon cake, rasberry filling and buttercream crossing. They in child emailed me back $1824...... from $730 to $1824..... That's a 150% increase, and their reasoning was, "we charge be the Serving size". Instead of having the "250 servings" They said their cake would serve, only about 80 guests attended..... this cake WOULD NOT HAVE SERVED an additional 100 guests.... Let alone, the audacity of the "Capabilities" of matching the reference cake-- They INSISTED AND disregarded my rewuests each time I brought up my preference for a buttercream outside instead of fondant Because I HATE FONDANT-- they said the flowers and decorations wouldn't gold on buttercream...they didn't color match the burgundy, the gold was yellow, the flowers were fake and the other fake decorations were attached with sticks (so they could have been used in buttercream), the "piping designs" was a single dislocated pressed on stamp of block frosting, and the rasberry filling was BARELY there, and when we cut and separated the cake layers the cake crumbled apart. This was THE WORST part of EVERYTHING!! I even think in the contact they were so cheap to put in that they were to get their fake flower decorations returned... What a joke!

I would never buy a cake from Aileen's. After placing the order for our wedding cakes, Aileene's…read moreinformed us that we could get test cakes. We ordered the test cake. First, I had asked for the icing to be an Italian buttercream. When we picked up the test cake, I asked if it was the Italian I requested or the American buttercream made with shortening and powdered sugar. They lied right to me telling me it was the Italian. I own a bakery, and Italian is all we use. I know Italian buttercream versus American. This was their American buttercream of shortening and powdered sugar. She lied right to me. In addition, the cake fell apart in the crumbs as soon as we cut it. They knew that I own the bakery and knew that I knew the difference, and yet they still lied to my face. Under no circumstances would I recommend anybody go to this Bakery.

Based on previous experience with this establishment we ordered a cake for a very important…read moreoccasion, our parents 50th anniversary. However, I cannot stress enough, this bakery is living off of a legend of the past and is doing nothing but false advertising!!! The pictures on their website are from the previous owners, this is not what you can expect to receive today. Our cake was supposed to be a beautiful cream cake with a gold metallic drip, ready to host a 50th anniversary marker. What we received was a dismal cake, with an uneven top, amateur flowers piped around the edge covering what can only be described as runny Smuckers looking caramel. There was no shimmer, no metallic effect, only fools gold that made the cake appear as if it emerged from a horror movie. Cutting into the cake took too much effort, especially for such an expensive and important cake. The outside was covered in enough fondant to protect it from bullets, an obvious and tragic attempt to cover up the awful bitter taste of a dry spongy cake. What was supposed to be a beautifully light almond cake with fresh fruit purée between the layers was a dense, spongy chemical concoction that was held together with artificial fruit gel that almost glowed in the dark. Even if I were starving I would not eat this cake. I would do less than zero stars for this bakery. Sadly, the tasty treats they used to deliver are simply memories. See the pictures below showing the advertised and promised cake and, sadly, the subsequent pictures of what was delivered instead... (note the dent in the top they spackled over with frosting, see the caramel "mucus" that was supposed to be gold metallic cascading down the side). We managed to save the day, luckily, by grabbing a Chantilly cake from Whole Foods, which used real fruit filling and a gentle amount of frosting to cover a moist, light and delicious cake texture... If you have an important event, LOOK ELSEWHERE! They cannot bake here, and your event's centerpiece will leave a bitter taste in everyone's mouth....

First, I read that this bakery is under new management. So this review is for the Fall of 2023. I…read moreordered a cake and 12 cupcakes for my son's bday. I was so disappointed and will never buy from them again. The art/design was cute, but the cake/cupcakes were burnt. They were dry and tasted awful. I asked for whipped cream and strawberry filling. I got a yellow cake with strawberry pie filling (thick gelatin-like) in the middle. No cream. Most of the kids at the party didn't even finish their cupcakes. We threw the remaining cake in the garbage. It wasn't edible. Total waste of money. Besides the cakes, they never answer the phone, and the store hours are ridiculous. They are supposed to close at 4 pm, but on two separate occasions, I got a call one hour before saying they "were closing early today and I needed to come get my cakes." I ended up having to reschedule because I could not make it. It was inconvenient for me when planning a party. I understand if there is an emergency, but this happened twice within two weeks. Most people cannot get up and leave their jobs in the middle of the day. If the store hours are 9-4 pm, they should be open during those times. Closing at 4 pm is difficult enough to manage for working people. I rarely write bad reviews unless it is just awful. Little London Cake Shoppe is just that!

There is plenty of seating in the dining area. They have a nice coffee selection. I opted for the Dutch Bullet Coffee. I also purchased an apple muffin, a coffee cake with walnuts and a cinnamon roll for a friend. They also have a small pantry area to purchase various Dutch bakery and other sweets. They sell plenty of Dutch pancake mixes too. Their bakery items in display cases are impressive. Plenty to choose from. They also offer various fresh baked breads. Prices are reasonable too. Staff is very friendly. I liked the female staff member who waited on me. Apple muffin was fantastic. It was moist and had small chunks of apple inside. Their coffee cake is one of the best I ever had. Overall, I was impressed. I would definitely consider returning here again.

The éclairs are a bit small, but they're incredibly fresh and delicious. The white loaf ($5.25) has a wonderful, fresh wheat aroma and contains no additives. The Boston Cream birthday cake features a rich, firm chocolate topping with a moist, cheesecake-like filling inside. This has become our family's favorite place to order birthday cakes. Highly recommended!
