We didn't want a cake topper, and we were only using real flowers for the wedding and not reception so we opted for flowers made from icing (which turned out really neat!). We wanted a cool ombre look because our colors were navy blue, light blue, white and silver. It turned out really neat without being so blue everyone's teeth would look like Smurfs lol. But the pastries do not taste as good as they look behind the counter. I admit, I did arrive about 20 minutes before closing, but that should not affect the taste that much.

That's just for the record, but it doesn't take anything away from the excellent and very reasonably priced products here.

Tous Les Jour is a Korean bakery that has hit on a winning formula. I have personally gone to at least 6 or 7 TLJ's in Chicago & Chicagoland. TLJ is international & have also eaten at locations outside the US. For me they have a great selection @ a reasonable price & availability @ numerous locations both nationally & internationally. Sometimes I even buy two boxes--one to eat on the way home and another to share with my wife when I get there. They have delicious, fresh donuts every day, and I especially love the donut holes they sell on Fridays. I also love that they carry Ideal Bakery's kolaczki and some of their other products. They offer fresh bread that they can slice for you when you order, or you can take it home unsliced. The staff is extremely friendly and patient while taking your order, and they never make you feel rushed, even when there's a line of customers. I ordered a cake and a dessert table from them for a party, and they did an amazing job. Salma was incredibly helpful throughout the process, offering recommendations and assisting us with our order. She took the time to answer all of our questions and made the entire experience stress-free. Keep up the great work, Jarosch Bakery!

I also tried the milk bread with custard inside, and it was absolutely delicious. The bread was soft and fluffy, and the custard filling was the perfect addition. As employees were already putting away the bread, I politely asked if I could grab a piece before everything was picked up. I was told that the bread was being moved to the front and that someone would assist me there. While I waited, two other groups entered after me. They heard the same information and ended up being helped before I was, despite the employees knowing that I had been waiting first. I politely asked twice for assistance and was told to continue waiting while the other groups were served. What made the situation more frustrating was that the customers ahead of me were taking a long time deciding what they wanted. I had already put on a plastic glove and was prepared to select my own bread, but I was told that wasn't necessary because an employee would help me. While waiting, I witnessed one of the teenagers from a group point directly at the bread, and another teenager pushed their hand into it. This happened in front of the employees, and no one addressed the situation or reminded them not to touch the food. As someone who was trying to follow proper sanitation practices, I found this very concerning. Not only did this happened once but 2,3 times infront of them. Yet nothing was addressed. After being ignored, waiting while others were served ahead of me, and seeing unsanitary behavior go unaddressed, I decided to leave without making a purchase. I was disappointed by both the customer service and the lack of attention to food handling standards.

When you walk in, you grab a tray and a pair of tongs, and you just go case by case picking out whatever catches your eye. They have everything from cakes and pastries to breads, and a lot of savory options like pastries with hot dogs, plus sandwiches and salads to go. If I'm being totally honest, the pastries themselves are a bit light and airy for my taste, and they do leave a little bit of an aftertaste. But the sheer variety of sweet and savory delights makes it worth the trip. It's just a great, fun place to meet up with friends for coffee, grab some lunch, or pick up a box of treats to bring home to the Hubby! I'd definitely recommend checking it out!

Note that Illinois considers food from Paris Baguette to be classified as 'food prepared for immediate consumption', and thus is taxed at over 10%. This would not be the case in California.
