Bug, it maybe a roach but can't tell as it was completely flattened.

It pains me to write this review. My family and I have come to this bakery for almost a decade. We loved their bread. We tried their tamales about two years ago and although they're not the best, they were okay for when we craved Tamales and didn't want to go far to get them. As I was eating the very last tamal of the batch I ordered, I found a bug. I cannot describe with words the disgust, rage, disappointment and sadness I felt at that moment. I can't! Just can't . We are obviously not coming ever again, but need to share so it doesn't happen to you too. Enjoy the pic .

a piece of cake on a plate

I also went to this location for a tres leches cake and it was horrible. It felt like I was eating a sponge. And it was Raw... WARNING don't go here

Skip the tamales. This is my third attempt with their tamales, both the regular and Oaxaca style, are all masa barely any meat.

No les recomiendo ni los tamales ni los atoles. Definitivamente solo regresaría por el pan; tiene estacionamiento y el lugar es accesible.

The pan dulce is really good, never had a stale or underbaked one. That's all I buy so I can't speak for anything else.

Right on the corner opposite the metra with plenty of street parking. When I entered I knew it was going to be good. Plenty of housemade breads and cakes throughout the shop. The ladies were super nice and accommodating. In and out in no time. You could sit inside to hangout too. I went with the slice of chocolate raspberry and the pistachio chocolate tart. Chocolate raspberry slice was very moist and full of raspberry with every bite. The pistachio chocolate tart had a fluffy and creamy top with a not too dense tart. Perfect bite every time. Well worth the stop!

That alone was worth the five stars. The pastries were ok, but they wouldn't be the reason I stopped here. They sell bread and I'd be interested in trying that, but what I'm really looking forward to is paczki day--it's an old school Polish bakery, and I expect they know how to do a good paczki! They aren't just a grab-and-go place; they have several tables around and they have some food beyond the pastries. I saw them preparing a sandwich or two, and they had some pepperoni pizza and savory pastries when I was here. There's no dedicated lot, but there's street parking all around as well as a municipal lot or nearby and it's kiddy-corner from the Des Plaines Metra station.

Donuts, apple fritters, and eclairs were very tasty. The custards were yummy. Cons: Place was dead, not one customer to be found on a Saturday morning at 7:30am. Stop going to the chain coffee joints and try a small place that needs us. I preordered a little leas than $100 worth of cakes, pies, and pastries so I grabbed some of the cookies to make it $100. The butter cookies are $33 a lb. Ouch! As soon as you take a bite they fall apart and crumble everywhere. The kids didn't like the taste and didn't eat any of them, a waste of $12. No prices anywhere other than the boxed goods or coffee signs. 4% fee for using a credit card which I get, but have it posted better. Couple small signs I caught over by the fresh stuff saying price tags reflect cash price, but yet didn't see prices anywhere other than on shelves by boxed stuff. Have prices posted. French silk pie was very thick and not very chocolaty. No one really cared for it, def would not get again. I looked back at receipt after I left and see a random charge for "open retail" for $3.12, no clue what that is. So was over charged for something I didn't get.

I was a little disappointed with the Dubai chocolate cheesecake this time though. It didn't even look the same as before, and the pistachio paste tasted less natural than I remembered. I went in early this morning, before 7am, to pick up some paczkis, their awesome cinnamon raisin bread and my dad's favorite, the Swedish Flat. And we weren't disappointed. So the front counter space is big. Their inside space to wait is, I believe, a little bit bigger compared to their old location. They still have their shelving in there with kolaczkis, assorted breads and pre-boxed paczkis. They are still getting everything together from their move and they didn't have a lot of pazckis available, which is ok because we aren't at Fat Tuesday yet amd last year you could place an order for them online. But their customer service is great as usual, and customers leave with smiles on their faces. I asked one of the employees there how have the longtime customers taken to the new building and she said so far it's been a mix. I love the new place and can't wait to see how they perform when they are all don't acclimating to their new home. Also, they have a awesome looking espresso machine but it isn't up and running when I was there. Thanks for being able to replace my hole in my heart when our local bakery closed a ling time ago.

It has that traditional neighborhood bakery feel with display cases full of cookies, donuts, pastries, breads, and cakes. The bakery has been around since 1959 and is known for making many of its items from scratch, which really shows in the quality. Jarosch Bakery +1 The selection is impressive. Their butter cookies, coffee cakes, sweet rolls, and donuts are standouts, and everything looks fresh and carefully made. If you're picking up dessert for a gathering or ordering a custom cake for a celebration, this is the kind of bakery that has built a reputation for doing those things really well. The place can get busy, especially around holidays, but that's usually a good sign that people keep coming back. Prices are a bit on the higher side compared to grocery store bakeries, but the quality and traditional baking make it worth it. Overall, Jarosch Bakery is a great spot if you appreciate classic bakeries that focus on fresh, scratch-made pastries and desserts. It's the kind of place that feels like a local tradition.
