I went to Artistic Dentistry for a simple cleaning and ended up in a two-year ordeal I wouldn't wish on anyone. I was told I needed a root canal, trusted the recommendation, and from there everything went downhill. The crown fell off, was replaced, and never fit correctly. I went back multiple times for adjustments, but my bite was never right and the pain never stopped. What's worse, I was refused routine cleanings for TWO YEARS because the dentist insisted on fixing this one tooth--something that never actually got resolved. I even asked about removing the tooth and was repeatedly dismissed. Finally, I sought a second opinion. Turns out the tooth was fractured and infected all along and should have been pulled from the beginning. Now I'm dealing with an abscess and a much bigger problem than I started with. This was a long, frustrating, and painful experience that could have been avoided. Please do yourself a favor--get a second opinion before committing to major work here read more

Dr. Pete ended up being the worst dentist I have ever been to. He was doing a crown for me and decided to do a crown on the tooth beside it without my consent. I had to let him finish and ended up paying about $4,000.00 for that visit. I hear the dentist that took over the practice is as bad if not worse. I will never go back or refer to them. read more

I called and got a same day appointment for a quick cleaning/X-ray to just check up on things as I have not been to a dentist in years due to a very horrible experience when I was younger. I walked in and the front desk lady was very kind and took me back right away. I explained how I was not a fan of the dentist and had some ptsd with coming in. She let me know everything would be fine and they would not do anything that made me feel uncomfortable. Before I knew it, she was working on my cleaning and was very gentle and calm. Once she was done, the dentist came back and went through my X-rays and was very polite and nice. He then cleaned my gums and examined my teeth and sent me on my way. This has got to be the best place I've been ever to be seen by a dentist. I don't think I'll go anywhere else. IF YOU OR YOUR LOVED ONE HAS A DISABILITY DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE! Dr. Shea Wilson is by far the worst experience. Currently banned from his office and will absolutely not be looking back. My MIL has dementia, Dr. Shea Wilson was working in her mouth and she flinched a couple of times. The doctor was fully aware of this situation but continued to speak to her in a condescending and rude manner. At one point he THREATENED to numb her up. I'm putting the emphasis on threatened because he absolutely made it sound like one. When she again flinched he told her "to grow up and stop acting like this, that children sit better" all of this was incredibly shocking. Her final flinch, he took off his gloves threw them done announced that he was no longer working on her and stormed off. While the dental assistant, my MIL, and I sat in absolute shock. My MIL began crying, I was trying to comfort her, and the assistant and (forgive me if wrong) secretary where in shock and tried apologizing for his behavior. He came around at this point again said that she was dismissed as his patient and she could leave. We gathered our stuff headed to the car, MIL was still very upset and didn't understand what she did wrong. I got her to the car, I'm in tears at this point because that was the must unprofessional and childlike thing I had ever seen from a medical office. I'm not ashamed to admit that I did go back and had words with the doctor. Not only did he not apologize for acting this way but kept insisting that he did nothing wrong. After some more arguing with him I gave up because obviously he is not worth the paper his dental license was printed on, flipped him off and left. While I agree that the doctor has every right to refuse service to whomever he wishes for whatever reason, I cannot believe he acted this way. read more

Absolutely horrific experience. During a procedure, I experienced a panic attack due to pain from him tearing my lip and sinus issues from my head being lower than my feet . When I signaled to stop, Dr. Shea Wilson stopped and then responded with shocking verbal abuse, telling me "No one gives a f*** about your panic attack", if you didn't serve in Iraq no one gives a s***, chill the f*** out and then dismissed me as a patient. He removed a filling from a tooth, left my tooth open and exposed, caused a large laceration to my cheek, and I needed emergency treatment from another dentist and oral surgeon. When I reported this to police, they said they were there a couple of hours ago because he done the same thing to another patient. This practice is dangerous, unethical and should be investigated. Employees need to speak up and report this behavior . Avoid at all costs. read more

I feel like I have been stolen from by this doctor's office. I spent $1,500 up front. I went to artistic dentistry to get a crown put on. The doctor put a temporary crown on that I was instructed to keep on for two weeks (and broke twice in those two weeks ). I finally get the permanent crown on by this doctor and it comes off as soon as I get home. I then had to wait another two weeks, without any temporary crown this time, for another permanent crown to arrive, which SHATTERED in my mouth 5 hours after being put on. I've called the doctors office many many times and have only been able to reach the front desk. They tell me the doctor will call me back and I have not heard from him or them in almost three weeks. With a hole in my mouth. I called them every day trying to get ahold of Dr Shea with no call back. When he was finally "available"to talk, he denied my refund and told me I would have to wait another year before he had an open appointment to fix my crown. Even though I have an appointment for cleaning coming up that I also paid for up front. He has stolen over $1,500 dollars from me and treated me like I am not worthy of his services, even though they have already been paid for. I've never seen a doctor act this way. This is completely unacceptable treatment. Completely unprofessional. He also told me I was harassing his employees by calling everyday, yet I was told I would get a call back...and never did. If a patient does not receive a call back from their doctor, they call again. I am now left with a hole in my mouth that he made worse and more sensitive. It hurts and has major sensitivities to heat and cold. I am having issues biting down on that side due to the pain. It was not like this before his "care." And to have to wait for a year to fix it? If you want to spend hundreds of dollars unnecessarily this is the office for you! I went in for a cleaning and specifically asked for removal of glue from teeth gems I did for an event which was not done. My cleaning took about 3 minutes maximum the assistant went by so fast the brush barely touched each tooth for more than a second and I still had paste in my mouth. There were no other patients in the office just myself. I was then told by the doctor that I had to come back in 3 months for a "check up cleaning" even though I had no calculus or excessive debris on my teeth. They maxed out my insurance to the point where I had to pay more than $200 out of pocket as well. For the entirety of the appointment I was being persuaded to purchase a toothbrush that the office had for sale. I was told I had cavities even though less than a month before, I went to a different office where they did a thorough examination and found none. At that point they introduced a payment plan to treat these cavities before I was even told where they were located or anything related to it. I was charged $1060 for 25 minutes. Supposed to be a deep cleaning, I was in the office at 4:30, waited 5 minutes, the hygienist worked on me for 20 minutes, the dentist for 5 minutes. I talked with the insurance lady for five minutes and was back out in the parking lot just after 5:00. Usually a deep cleaning is two appointments lasting an hour each. These guys miraculously did a deep cleaning in less than 25 minutes and chaged me over a thousand dollars for it. read more

My fiancé referred me to Artistic Dentistry and told me Delilah was the best dental hygienist, and she was right! Delilah was very friendly and did a great job thoroughly cleaning my teeth. The office staff was polite and helpful. I like that they have some evening and weekend hours. Another cool thing is they have text reminder options so you don't have to return any calls to confirm your appointments. You can do that via text if you choose. Dr. Pete was very personable and funny. When he came in and did my exam I liked that he seems to care and know his patients. He asked questions about our upcoming weddings and me and my fiancé. The first time I called, it would take more than a month for a appointment to meet our schedule. I called my previous dentistry, it would take longer. So I called Artistic Dentistry again, it was so lucky this time I got a good time. They spent almost 2 hours on a new patient teeth cleaning and X-ray. The teeth are deeply cleaned now. Don't go to this dentist if you have any fear or anxiety about dental work because you will find zero compassion here!! I've never been treated so badly by a dentist or healthcare professional! The first thing he did was insult me saying that he works on children and doesn't understand why an adult would be so fearful! He showed no compassion or caring nor did he even try or give me reason to trust him!!! My first clue should have been the empty office and him as the receptionist! I, as well as the other reviewers, originally came to Artistic Dentistry on a Groupon, and absolutely LOVED it (not something I have ever uttered in regards to a dentist's visit!) The secretary was pleasant when I made the appointment and treated me like a fully-paying client ( I have been frowned upon and forgotten at a few establishments due to my Groupon status). I waited 15, tops. My hygienist, DELILAH, was, as everyone has already mentioned, AMAZING! She explained everything she was doing, cleaned and examined every tooth (they use high-tech x-ray machines, and proceed to go through each tooth and type up a full report on the state of affairs in one's mouth!) This was THE MOST THOROUGH cleaning I have ever gotten. The dentist, Dr. Pagano, came in afterwards, greeted me warmly, and wrote a referral for an issue that needs taking care of. I felt like a VIP throughout the whole process, and came back a few weeks later to get my CUSTOMIZED whitening trays!! (I got before photos taken, was shown how to use them, and am happy to say my teeth are now at the whitest shade possible!) I would HIGHLY recommend Artistic Dentistry. The whole team is professional and fun. I left feeling like a million dollars and had spent only $57! (I have set up future appointments and refuse to go to another dentist again!) I wrote a review shortly after a bad experience at Dr. Pagano's office, but decided to remove it a few weeks later because 1) I wrote it in the heat of the moment and 2) They called me and asked me to come in and discuss my experience with Dr. Pagano. After letting this sit for several months I decided that I wanted to come back and write a brief review and just share my experience. It is important to hear good and bad in order to make good decisions.. First, I must say my first appointment was a consultaiton with Dr. Pagano and it was fine. I had a cleaning with Delilah which was outstanding. Dr. Pagano is personable and gives a good first impression. There were a couple of things that made me feel a little unsure, but not enough that I didn't go back. I will say one of those things was Dr. Pagano asking me if I had ever thought about braces. I do not have perfectly straight teeth, but if anyone else looked at me, they would not say I needed braces (see my profile picture). Also, in my 50 years of living I have never had a dentist suggest them. To me, it seemed like they saw I had orthodontic coverage under my insurance plan, and a slight imperfection was an opportunity. I had a couple of old fillings that needed to be replaced, so I went back to have two done (two molars next to each other) at the same time. Dr. Pagano was booked, so I was scheduled with Dr. Bockhorst. I do not have dental phobia and have never had a bad dental experience, until this one. When I went for my dental work, Dr. Bockhorst didn't speak to me, except for a "Hi, I'm Dr. Bockhorst." Then, she injected the numbing medication and immediately went to work without any wait time to allow the area to numb. She started to drill and that was horribly painful because the numbing medication had not done anything yet. I put up my hand to signal her to stop and said it wasn't numb. So, she waited a tiny bit longer to begin. There was also a mouth piece inserted (covered my lips and helped to prop my mouth open) and it was painful and pressing on my gums, and rubbing with every movement. So, now I had my mouth full and couldn't talk, and they weren't even saying, "Is this comfortable?" As a side note, I had painful canker sores for days afterwards, from that mouth piece rubbing. The dentist nor hygienist did not offer me an opportunity to rest my mouth (from holding it open so long) in between filling 1 and filling 2. She chatted with the assistant the entire time and didn't say another word to me. It felt like she had lost sight of the fact that she was working on a person. As she worked to fill my tooth, the pressure on my gums from the mouth piece was painful. I eventually l lifted my hand and said stop. By this time I had tears in my eyes and explained that the mouthpiece hurt and that my jaw was aching from being open so long. I had to do that a couple of times during the work. My old dentist would pause once in a while and ask if I was doing ok, and during lengthy procedures, would give me a chance to rest my mouth every once in a while. This dentist never paused, or asked if I was comfortable, and did not give me a break from having my mouth open for so very long. I left the office feeling very upset and shaken. I couldn't eat dinner, and it wasn't because of a sore mouth, but because of feeling so emotional over the experience. I wrote a letter to Dr. Pagano's office about it later, and he invited me in to discuss it with him. He listened and responded appropriately and was apologetic. I mentioned that I had a problem with the dental work itself, as well.... The two back teeth Dr. Bockhorst filled were next to each other and there was now a curved space between the two teeth, and every time I ate food would stick between the teeth and I had to floss it out... and even that wasn't easy because the shape of the filling seemed to hold food pretty securely in there, so flossing it out took some time. My gums were getting inflamed between those two teeth. Plus, there was a rough spot that was rubbing my tongue sore. Dr. Pagano asked if I would come back and allow him to redo the fillings. The fillings are much better, much smoother, but I'm still getting food stuck between those two molars. (However, it is still improved and not rough.) I really wanted to like this office, because the people are nice. Dr. Pagano did try to correct the wrong... but it much more expensive than other dental offices, and the services are not all I expected them to be, especially in light of the price. I personally will not go back. read more

As a graduate student, I went to the low-income clinic for the past year and a half, trying to scrape by. It was horrifying. I've never really been impressed by a dentist. I actually like getting my teeth cleaned though, so I've decided to work some extra hours so I could have a decent dentist. Delilah cleaned my teeth and did AN AMAZING JOB!! The most thorough, kind cleaning I've ever had. Fantastic. I floss and brush religiously, but apparently the shoddy past teeth cleanings had taken their toll, and Delilah brought them back to their former sparkling glory. They have a mini teeth camera to show you where you have build up or cavities, so it really connects to show you where you've not quite been reaching. Dr. Pagano was the perfect doctor as well, quick, gentle, and humorous (but not corny and weird). I came in on a Groupon, and I was not pressured to come back for my cavities or anything else. There was no hard sell to upgrade at all. If you have a chance grab at their Groupon if it comes around again. They won a new customer for sure- I'm a dental-aholic so they've got a good customer in me! Worth the money I'll be spending. read more

I had a groupon but was treated like a regular patient. Hands down GREAT costumer service!! The only thing I did not care for was the medical radio station playing. I went to Dr Pagano asking consulting for my wisdom tooth extraction. I was referred to a specialist to have my teeth extracted as they were too complicated for Dr Pagano to do himself. After that they gave me a whole load of crap about why I should clean my teeth and gave me a ridiculously high quote for $1200 to clean my teeth. 2 days after the the consultation I got a card with Dr Pagano's face saying how great a customer I was. I have never seen such marketing strategies even from car dealerships!! He's a doctor for crying out loud, not a car saleman!!! Anyways, despite the numerous attempts to coax me into his clinic, I decided not to do this procedure with Dr Pagano. The next thing I hear is that I have to pay $35 as cancellation fee to an apt I never intended to have in the first place. A month later I received a notification that a $1 fee would be added as finance charges to an apt I never went to. Please be warned, this guy is worse than the bankers on Wallstreet!!! He will rip you out of your last penny without any remorse. And he will try to smooth talk you into doing procedures which are absolutely not required!! I will never step foot within 50 yards of his stupid clinic. Unfortunately La Bonne Bouche is right next door to his clinic. read more

We were visiting from out of state and my daughter had a horrible toothache on one of her baby teeth. From the moment I called the office, Stacy was so helpful and understanding and got us in there right away. Dr. Pagano instantly made us feel at ease and we knew we were in great hands when he told us the tooth needed to come out. He took care of everything and they even took our insurance. The cost was very reasonable which was a nice surprise considering it was an emergency visit. The entire staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. In a word "SHADY" Arrived for appointment which I was told was for impression. Even brought cashier's check. Quickly turned into mini ambush with Dr Pagano and Della. Have informed Dr as well as staff I am uncomfortable speaking to him alone. My concerns clearly didn't matter to them as I was given no notice. There were some concerns over money. I NEVER ASKED FOR ANY FREE SERVICES. What I asked for was to be told when charges were being added to my bill. Which never happened He then proceeds to accuse me of taping conversation and insisted on seeing my phone. Why would anyone object unless something in the conversation wasn't meant to be heard. He then ask me If I thought this was the free clinic. By the way did I mention I have paid this man over $46,000 cash up front for a treatment plan. The charges in question were items THEY left off the treatment plan! Office Manager/wife phones me to tell me of their mistake. I agreed to nothing. Oh and by the way it was eight months into treatment plan. She wanted consult. I resisted stating I wanted someone with me. She then stated "Dr P can tone it down " She then asks me haven't things gotten better? So obviously a preexisting knowledge of how he treated me was quite well know. I asked about warranty which is clearly stated on my treatment plan. He then proceeds to tell me there is no warranty paper. If I had known he wasn't going to honor warranty as stated I would have bailed out a year ago!!! No one deserves to be spoke to the way I was! I tried to make it work because of the warranty!!
