My sister and I went in for my second ear piercing on my upper lobe and I was pretty nervous. I was searching for a place that was clean and well rated and this place lived up the hype. We were greeted at the door and provided information about the piercings. Our piercer was Lucy and she was very nice and laid back which made the whole thing a lot less nerve racking. My 2 best friends and I went in to get matching tats on our wrists. 2 of us got ones the size of a half dollar coin and 1 was the about a quarter size. All black ink and just an outline of a heart in Morse code... All in all it took about 2.5min per tat. When we went to pay they charged us $100 EACH and had the nerve to ask if we wanted to leave a tip!!! Ya, we should of asked price up front, but we have been waiting to get these tats for 10 years or so. The artists were both nice and did a great job, it was just that we got over charged by A LOT. The shop is beautiful and the staff is friendly, unpretentious and obviously artistic! I had some tattoo work done by Spiro and was extremely pleased. He is light handed and accommodating to your needs. He had great ideas to collaborate with mine. I wish more tattoo shops were as nice as this one. I live North of Austin but am willing to drive to Katy to go to a shop as nice as this one. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a solid artist in a clean location. Have not gotten a tattoo from here, but I have gotten 4 piercing ( 3 cartilage and a forward helix) from Jay and he does a great job. He was friendly and very informative with the cleaning instructions for the piercing. Won't go anywhere else to get piercing because I know Jay always does a great job. read more

Been here 3 times and wouldn't go anywhere else. I've had Andrew do 2 tattoos and he did a phenomenal job!! Went in last Friday to meet with Jay because my nose ring that was done by someone else, kept getting a nose bump and even got an infection. Jay informed me that what I thought was titanium and what I was sold, was not. He put titanium in and it's been 4 days and my nose is all healed up, no bump, no more itching. I've been here 2 times once to get my industrial piercing and once to get a tattoo. The tattoo artist was super friendly. However the piercer (Jay) is probably the rudest person I have ever met. He acts superior which bothered me because previously when he pierced my ear I gave him a great tip. If he pierces your ears just be aware that he will suddenly become super friendly at the end to try to get a good tip. I will never come back to this shop just because I cannot stand Jay. read more

Sick and tired of crappy shops and rude artist, I decided to do my research for my next tattoo and wasn't disappointed...I went to the cypress location with my fiancé...it was my bday and I had a bunch of ideas for several different tattoos I wanted, all of which were large... just walking in without appointment Andrew and Chris were extremely funny and friendly, they took the time to walked me threw each idea I had, adding their own artistic opinion on each one (two were cover ups)...being as they were good sized tattoos I made an appointment with Andrew to start one this coming Sunday! Andrew took the time to explain that he will not have me walking around with his work looking bad, that alone I appreciate... so we made the appointment, but while we were there wanted to get something lol...they have a coin machine with tons of drawings in it, you pay to turn the handle (lower thank their shop min) and see what you get...it was extremely exciting and I've never seen it before...so we did that I got a small kitty, my fiancé a rose...both of which came out awesome with a cool story behind it...we will see y'all Sunday!!! Do not get a tattoo done by BB unless you want to be treated like trash in the process. He is extremely unprofessional, obviously high, and is rude and does not tend to customers' request (which when you're getting a tattoo that's going to be on you the rest of your life is pretty damn important) Hopefully he will not work there much longer with lack of work. read more

I had received 2 tattoos in a very visible area that turned out horrible! Shoddy, splotchy, messy lines, lines out of lines, etc. I had actually emailed the owner at 3 different email addresses they provide as they have stated multiple places, to contact them if not happy. I explained how rude my artist was, how crappy the work is; everything in detail and included pictures as I wanted to provide them the chance to correct it before going public. These were emailed back on 11/7 and 11/12 and to date, I have heard nothing. I have actually had 3 tattoos removed because of bad work so I vowed to do my best to make sure it didn't happen again and these were the first tattoos I have gotten in 10 years since I had to have those 3 removed because I wanted to be sure and this is what happens?! I decided that it was time to get my third tattoo which I had wanted to for a year or so. I am new to the area, and thus didn't really have someone who could point me in the direction of a tattoo shop, so I yelped it and Artistic Impressions was the first that came up. I called beforehand to see if they were busy, and I talked to Danny who very nicely invited me to come over to the shop and check out their setup and artwork. I was pretty anxious about going in, partly because I don't know much about tattooing. But even more so because getting tattoos is always very personal for me, both the experience and the design, and can be difficult to share with a stranger. After feeling like I was stumbling over my first couple words, I told Danny what I had in mind, and he directed me to a couple of books of the artists work while he helped someone else. Then he came over and we started chatting. Wow, I was not expecting the ensuing conversation. He answered all the questioned I had about tattooing. Everything from the equipment, to his first tattoo, even to how he got into tattooing. It's rare that I hit it off with someone as well as I did with Danny. We chatted even after they were closing up. Anyway, long story short, Danny is an awesome dude who truly wants to make, not only the tattoo badass, but also the experience. He's got some mind-blowing artwork and has experience with graphic design. I went into the shop the next day with the design I had drawn up, and Danny transferred it lickity-split. He answered all the questions I had about the gun, sanitation, and tattoo techniques. I went in with my own design this time, but if I'm around Houston when I get some ideas for number 4, I will mos def have him work his magic! read more

This place is incredible. I have some fantastic tattoos from Spiro, and I plan to come back to him when I'm ready for my sleeve. I've referred many friends, who now have amazing work done by Spiro. The place is nothing to look at from the outside. If you're just driving by you'd think its was the kind of place people warn you about. Once you go inside your everything changes. The artwork and the ambiance is something to rave about. I didn't have an appointment so I just walked in and asked if the piercer was in. After about 20 minutes J came in and took me to the back. He made me feel insanely comfortable despite me feeling completely vulnerable. It took about 10 minutes and they came out looking great. I made an appointment a week in advance and was told my drawing would be complete and ready for me to be inked when I arrived. The artist showed up and hour late to the appointment and hadn't even started on my drawing. I waited 3 hours before we ever started tattooing. The worst part was, the stencil he did had incorrect spelling so I corrected him on it. No big deal. But the FMer still tattooed the wrong spelling on me!!!! I am furious that I will now have this botched "o" on my arm bc the artist was too busy talking on the phone while doing my tattoo. Very painful but quick piercing process. Jay is very experienced and knows what he is talking about. It was my first time in AI, and the establishment is very clean and open. There is a separate room for piercings. The price of my piercings were a little higher than their website led me to believe they would have been - about $20 more - but I was satisfied nonetheless. The entire process took me maybe 20 minutes, if that. Jay advised me on which soaps to use and not use during the healing process and I was given a card with suggestions and advice on piercing aftercare. I had 3 sessions with Henry for a heavily saturated color piece on my arm (almost a half sleeve and a cover-up as well) and I couldn't be happier with it! Henry is such a nice guy and definitely takes pride in what he does! When I went there, I had reference pictures and an idea of what I wanted but after Henry drew it up, it was better than I could of ever imagined. He's not just a great tattooer but is also a very skilled artist! I have several tattoos but this is only the second one I have gotten at Artistic Impressions (my first one was with Spiro who also did a really great job) and I will never go any place else! Having seen many peoples tattoos walk out of there in all the times I have been there, I can honestly say that every artist does amazing work. If you're looking for that "budget" tattoo or don't want to wait a couple weeks to get in with your artist, then this is not the place for you. So I have gotten many piercings done here by Jay. To be specific about 7. I was 15 when my mom first took me here to get my belly button pierced and I'm now 20 so I have been a loyal customer that tips well. Jay has never once remembered me nor been really that nice or welcoming. I get that he has many customers but I mean really I've been coming here for five years and I'm an easy customer, piercings don't bother me and I have always tipped him generously. That is not what made me write this review however. I got one nipple piercing done by him and thought I was happy with it. I recently moved to San Antonio and decided to get the other one done. When I took off my shirt to get the other one done by a different guy, he immediately changed my jewelry in the first piercing because it was too small and was irritating my skin. Next he mentioned nicely that it was obviously crooked and not done very well. Needless to this was the final straw. I am done with Jay and wouldn't give him another dime. read more

i'm not one to write reviews no matter how much i dislike whatever i've gotten but this is ridiculous. the bottom hole is far from where it should be so it looks extremely awkward and out of place. i asked if it could be more horizontal like top of the ear and it's definitely not. i got it pierced in november and i was soo excited for it but now that i actually realize how it looks, i kinda always want my hair down. this was like 70-80 bucks i don't remember. it's also too small of a bar, the top piece is making a dent on my ear but it still hurts too much so i don't wanna get it changed out yet but i feel like it hurts that much BECAUSE the bar is so small. it makes my ear look funky when it's literally the most normal looking ear?? the bottom hole is way too far back. the day i got it done, jay was really stressed out and rude so i should've just followed my gut and left. he pierced it incredibly fast and kept saying things under his breath about how he needs to pierce a certain amount of people in a certain amount of time so he can go home. i understand how you want to go home after a long day but come on man, now my ear looks so screwed and all these painful months of healing are all useless. i'm going to put myself through the longest and most painful (in my opinion) healing process once again on my other ear at a different shop because i dislike this one that much. read more
