Isaiah came out to tune it after it had rested in its new environment for about ten weeks. It needed attention. After he finished, I played it for about three hours in the next two days and I concluded it hasn't sounded this good since it was in Eugene where I had an excellent tuner. Isaiah was prompt, thorough and his attention to detail was obvious listening to its tone. It sounds great, a bit brighter. It's getting a lot more use as a result. After speaking with one representative and getting one price, I was told to call another person and got a different price. They decided to honor the original price that I had been given and I thought that the challenges of dealing with this company would end there. If only! When talking to the second person, Ed, I was given a time that they could move the piano. I told Ed that I would check to see if that time worked and call him right back. I did. The time didn't work with our family friends who had been taking care of our family piano for many years. I immediately called Ed back. It went to voicemail. I left a detailed message telling him that the next day (the time that he had offered) wouldn't work and asked if they had availability the following Friday after 12:00. I never heard back. I planned to call Ed the next day to find a time that would work but before I could, a truck showed up at our family friends' home to pick up the piano! It blocked in their vehicles, causing them to be late to an important appointment. The friends couldn't reach me. It was a nightmare! As soon as I found out what was happening, I called K&D frantic to find out what was going on and where our piano was. I still haven't received a call back. Yet, today, my check was cashed for the cost of moving the piece. The men themselves who moved the piano were polite and hardworking. They seemed embarrassed for the mess that their company made of the situation. I hope that they go to work for a better outfit or that the company figures some things out. Either way, I would NEVER recommend K&D Piano Moving to anyone.

We hired Almighty Movers for a confirmed move on November 22, 2025. The owner, Justin, personally confirmed the night before at 4:50 p.m. that a 4-man crew would arrive between 8:00-8:30 a.m. the next morning. He knew from my earlier email on November 13 that we had only three days to complete our move after our home closed on November 19, and that we had to be out that day to meet a strict contractual deadline. There was no flexibility at all, and he accepted the job with full understanding of this. One hour before the scheduled arrival time, I received a text from Justin that said: "Move will need to be postponed until Sunday. Hope that's okay." There was no phone call, just a text. I called immediately because postponing was not possible. He did not answer. I texted back explaining we had a hard deadline and needed the crew that morning. He replied briefly that he was "on it" and trying to find a smaller crew. That was the last communication I received. He did not return my call. He did not provide an update. No one ever arrived. At 10 a.m., after receiving no information at all, I asked for my deposit back. It was refunded through Venmo, but I received no message confirming the refund or acknowledging the situation. Communication simply ended. Because the cancellation happened with only one hour's notice, and because the company was fully aware of our immovable timeline, my husband and I were forced to complete the entire move ourselves -- including all packing, furniture, boxes, and garage/outdoor items. This was roughly 36 hours of professional labor we had to replace in a single day. I have lupus, and the physical strain triggered a severe flare. I was unable to work the following Monday, resulting in lost wages, along with significant physical pain and stress. The entire reason we hired movers and were willing to pay the $2,500 price tag, was because of my health limitations, and being abandoned like this caused us tremendous hardship. On November 25, I emailed the company with a detailed description of what happened and offered 14 days for a reasonable resolution. I received no response of any kind. I have since learned through the Oregon Department of Justice website that this is not the company's first complaint, something I truly wish I had known before hiring them. As someone who has worked in real estate, I understand how critical reliability is during a move, and I have notified colleagues so they can help protect their clients. I cannot imagine this happening to an elderly couple or someone without the physical ability to complete an entire move alone. I have filed formal complaints with: * Oregon Department of Justice * ODOT Household Goods Movers Enforcement * FMCSA * BBB My hope is that sharing my experience prevents another family -- especially someone medically vulnerable -- from going through what we endured.

But the administrative side is hardly available. I called to ask about rates. 2 weeks go by. They said they would get me on the promotional rate. The rate was good, so I signed up. I would call or text whenever I knew I was going to miss a lesson, just wanting my instructor to know he could go home early. Days after my lesson, I would get a text saying "hey, no one was here but thanks for letting us know." No idea if my instructor was given a heads up. I had an emergency which required significant funds. I checked and my charge didn't go through which was embarrassing. At this point I realized my rate had increased significantly for a couple months. I hadn't had a lesson for the month yet. I called on the 3rd and you have to cancel by the first. I really liked my instructor and wasn't going to mention the rate increase. But they insisted that I pay for a month of lessons because of a technicality. I am only being petty because dude decided to be passive aggressive with me "It's unfortunate you didn't want to honor your agreement. We would have been happy to adjust your rate closer to the promotional rate." Why even play a sneaky rate increase game then? Just stick to the honest rate. You would keep a lot more students that way. I have to call in 4 months and ask them not to charge me more please? On top of that, I have to hope someone is even answers the phone. If the administrative side was functional, it wouldn't be difficult to send a courtesy email to notify students that promotions were ending. I truly hope most of my rate went to my instructor and not just some guy who owns a building. If you have kids, it may be worth it. Otherwise just look for an instructor you can build a personal relationship with that doesn't require a contract. Someone who understands that students come and go but will likely return if you don't try to squeeze them for money. If you do go, ask for Jordan. He is a sweetheart. Utterly distasteful business.

I found this place on CL where they offered two free (30 min ea) lessons-I've been wanting to learn how to play guitar so i seized the chance to check them out. My first instructor was Jordan. He was trained in classical music and had extensive experience playing/performing. Instructing was easy to follow & my homework was fun. Sadly he moved on but i was paired w/Bradley. His preferred style of music is similar to mine and I continue to have lessons with him. From both instructors, I've learned repetition & practice are key! I struggled with finger articulation but Bradley had suggested a variety of different exercises to improve my skills. Cost is very reasonable when compared to say the local Guitar Center music store. After my first two free lessons, i agreed to a 13 week course at $85 monthly. I'm almost done with my initial commitment but I intend to continue on. As a novice I'm eager to learn & this place hasn't disappointed. Check out there free lessons, what do you have to lose?
