Quoted price and said they had everything in stock. Showed up , installed stereo and then said a part wasn't in stock and said it was going to cost more. This is after it was paid for. Have quote in writing and Grant said it was quoted wrong and he would not honor it. Additionally I priced everything with Crutchfield to get a price comparison and this shop was making almost double just in parts. They just lost any business from me in the future or any references. I scheduled a appointment at 1:30 in the afternoon it took the owner Grant 2 hours "3:30" to start any work on my truck which only took 30 minutes to do. I sat and waited while he worked on other vehicles that got there after I did, got lunch, and talked and talked with other customers. I've done business with Grant a lot now, NOTHING has changed about him! I'll never do business with him again and never recommend him ever again. What a joke! read more

Probably the last shop in the region with employees very knowledgeable about high-end audio and home theater systems and they make house calls. I was having problems with by system and they not only fixed it but discovered my center speaker had blown its tweeter. I decided to forgo the cheaper price for a replacement online and purchased it from The Music Shop, and glad I did because there was a problem recalibrating the system. I phoned Scott, one of the owners, and he explained how to fix the problem. A service I wouldn't have gotten from the online retailer. read more

Went in this afternoon looking for an end table. Yes, they have furniture. Not $300 gorgeous antique end tables, but a great selection of interesting and fair quality used $40-80 tables. I wasn't sure what height I needed, so the lady who worked there measured and wrote down some notes for me. Not pushy. Just helpful. :) read more

The lady that works here is RUDE!!!! The old lady is nice but the 50 something year old is a total witch. I went in to this store and she acted like I was a burden and wasting her time. Didn't take time to listen to me and continuously interrupted me with her rudeness. They have an ad in the local paper stating the BUY furniture and when I went in there she said "No, No, No , No" Literally no reason besides saying that the only furniture they buy is cheap old JUNK. Do not go here if you prefer good customer service and polite people. If you have nice furniture don't go here to sell it. Obviously she hates her job which is sad because she may be the owner. read more

I personally am doing a home theater and Scot has been ultra helpful and even though he has more expensive merchandise he wasn't pushing me towards that but helping me finding what is right for my situation. I took a older cd player in to have it looked at. We use in our shop for music. It appeared that a disc was stuck or not centered. When I went in the first thing that was said to me was that the antique store is down the block. I was not even asked enough information about my issue before I was being told to get a flash drive and get rid of my CD's and use WIFI. First of all I just wanted to know if it could be fixed, I cant use WIFI in our shop as it is too far away from the house. I was insulted, and Grant does NOT KNOW HOW TO LISTEN. Customer service is horrible anywhere in Grants Pass for the most part, but I have to say that this was the worst. I went home and shook out the cd's in the machine and Waaalaaa damn thing works again. Thanks for nothing Music Shop, you should be selling used cars. Steer clear. read more

Have you been in here? You NEED to! Go see Grant and son - they are awesome - and so are the other installers and the gals at the desk! We bought a used car at Corvallis Subaru and Toyota As Is but expected the CD player in the high end JBL audio/navigation system to be working as advertised. Realized the CD player didn't work after we had dinner and after they had closed. The next day my husband spent a couple hours trying to figure out what was wrong but it was indeed broken. A phone call to the dealer and the dealer made a phone call to Grant at the Music Store (and a few phone calls ensued, but nothing extraordinary), and within a few days, we had a brand new (ok, display model, but still ...) audio/Nav system in our car to replace the 2009 state of the art one that was broken. The dealer did the right thing (thank you Clay and Gary) but they didn't legally have to do anything. They paid almost 2/3 of the new system. How's that for customer service! And now I'm under the Music Shop's warranty and they are there to help with the system 24/7. Well, almost. Restores my faith in customer service! Like one reviewer stated, the markup is HUGE. And when you are going to overpay for something you expect 2 things, great quality and great customer service. You will get neither with the music shop. The owner is very pushy and rude, always trying to up sell you. My wife and I wanted a head unit that would allow her to listen to music on her iPod while the kids watched a DVD on the screen in the back. This of course he told us, required a more expensive unit then we had already picked out. When we found out later that our that it wasn't actually capable of that, we returned to the store where he just ummmed and ahhhed saying that he never told us that. Later, our back up camera stopped working. Stopped in to see him about getting it fixed, he wanted nothing to do with it, all sales final! After lengthy debate and argument he at least agrees to send it back to the manufacturer to be refurbished, tells me could take up to 6 weeks. A few months go by and I've heard nothing, so I stop in to see what's going on with it. I get a "what?! I would never do anything like that!" Since my recipts showed otherwise, he finally offered me a $10.00 Chinese knock off (the original camera cost me $120.00) and he'd install it for me for only $50.00! Trying to get him to see how he's trying to swindle me gets me nowhere, until I finally walk out with a camera worth a fraction of the one I originally paid for, and that I would have to install myself... read more

I have had the most horrible experience ever visiting this shop. WHat should have been a 2 hour job turned into 6 hours of pain and suffering. it was awful. Do not ever visit this place for any car electronics job... They have been in business for years but unfortunately never learned the skill to do proper electrical wiring from college, instead they learned through experience and youtube. That's horrible. How can a store stay in business for years with no electrical savvy technicians. My guess is they make their revenue through selling products that are only accessible through ebay or amazon, with a markup of about 150% to sustain their position in the market. They are smart business handlers but this family unfortunately is dysfunctional, 2 brothers and a sister, the sister is the awkward element, a real rough individual, Grant the oldest brother maintains a really figgy salesmanship. Not only does he try to sell you his products, but he also tends to elongate your stay in the shop so you get the urge to buy more products at a really high markup... The mother is the maestra.
