I shared my design and color ideas and he put together 3 different combinations for me to look at. He nailed it! I have honestly never encountered worse customer service. The first time my daughter and I visited the showroom the salesperson had an attitude, he was unfriendly and it was clear he was not interested in helping us. Unfortunately, there is one tile we would like to order for our project. I got one response from the salesperson, but since then my phone call and 4 subsequent emails have gone unanswered!! All I wish to do is place an order. I wrote to a different salesperson at the showroom and have not heard back from him either. It is frankly quite shocking. I am trying to find an alternative tile somewhere else, this place has been a complete waste of my time. read more

They were so patient with me when I made a mistake and were quick to help me resolve my issue (I didn't order enough tiles and was in a mad rush to get more!). They both treated me with such care. While this store has top notch products this particular location has a lot to be desired when it comes to civilized service. Several things to say... they forgot to place the order in its entirety, then they calculated wrong measurements; they also miscalculated the costs, and that's ok. But when the store manager Roy Marcus (stay away from him) sent wrong door saddles that were not even finished as I asked, then I have a problem with it. Roy Marcus agreed to refund after rudely arguing over the phone, and I thanked him despite the aggravation inflicted. But after 15 days that I have generously returned only one saddle instead of both, I'm still waiting for the refund and obviously he is doing it on purpose to get back to me. So, to recap: I retuned in person the wrong tile and they still hold the refund...It's a trashy behavior from the manager. I opened a dispute via CC. I would suggest to be careful and avoid dealing with him. I continued doing business with artistic tile but at a different location. Terrible store manager... This store is beautiful and has a lot of tiled displays for you to draw ideas from. My husband and I were looking to tile 2 bathrooms that are going through a gut renovation. The first time we came here, it was an hour before closing so the salespeople told us to walk around and come back when we had more time. That was fine cause it was the beginning of our tile search. We then came back in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday and waited 20min to speak with someone... we walked out. No one greeted us or noticed us. We're young and are young so I think they judged us. Maybe they thought they wouldn't make a sale. If you want good service and an even larger selection, I recommend Nemo Tile a few blocks away, as well as Ann Sacks, and Complete Tile Collection. The service was top notch at all three. I'd rather go somewhere, where people value my money. read more

Mark at the 21st street location is absolutely the best. He helped me select tile for both my kitchen and bathroom. In the kitchen: floor tile, backsplash, and counter. Bathroom: wall and floor tile. Mark has a great design eye, and was able to help me think through some subtle design considerations specific to a pre-war building in a historic neighborhood. My kitchen turned out absolutely beautifully, and I am looking forward to seeing my finished bathroom. Additionally Mark was able to very smoothly handle some delivery hiccups. Shane is a pleasure to work with, amazing taste and style, very professional, patient, extremely responsive and wonderful follow up. The selection and service at Artistic Tile is of the highest quality - five stars! First he understood my taste and style right away and helped me select the most beautiful stone tile for the two bathrooms that were being renovated. In addition, he selected the perfect grout as well. He was extremely responsive when I needed extra tile for one of my bathrooms. He went above and beyond in making sure the delivery went smooth. He assisted me in ordering light fixtures that were on display at the showroom in Manhattan as well. They have beautiful tiles at Artistic Tile. Silvana, the person who helped us, was very knowledgeable and sensitive to our needs concerning both design and finances. The backsplash tile she helped us choose has been installed and looks fantastic. Why then only a three star rating you ask? The reason is that the delivery was horrendous. Although we paid $125 for the delivery, the delivery men would not take the tile up the three steps into our building lobby. They unloaded 19 boxes of tiles to the sidewalk and refused to take it any further despite my offering an additional $100. At that point, because I couldn't leave the tiles unattended on the street, I had to find someone via telephone to help me get the tiles into the lobby and then to my apartment. When I called Artistic Tile to complain, they blamed the delivery company and took no responsibility. Shame on them. Update: Since I wrote this review, Artistic Tile has reached out to me about their delivery service. They have refunded the delivery charge and have promised that they will address their delivery problems and reevaluate their policy and the company they use for delivery. Again, let me reiterate, the product is fantastic and the sales/design service is wonderful. Once the delivery service is corrected the entire experience at Artistic Tile will rate an unconditional 5 stars. read more

Artistic Tile was instrumental in my kitchen and bathroom renovation, from tile, to grout to custom shower/bath doors to countertops. The selection is fantastic and the service is even better. I highly recommend Shane. He was super professional and responsive and full of great advice. I really can't say enough great things about Shane and Artistic Tile. I came to Artistic Tile desperately needing 200' of tile for a bathroom renovation. After spending 3 days looking for the right tiles I purchased 1/3 of what I needed to complete the rest after the Christmas holidays after I hired a contractor to install the tiles. On Jan 10 I received an email from HASSAN HASSOUN which read: " Artistic Tile has decided to refund you for your purchase we cannot hand select the material and cannot have it on our dock." After noting to MGR GERARD ESMAIL from the Secaucus Warehouse that they sold my property to someone else and demanded my tiles back , he iterated "go shop somewhere else." Now I'm left with a disheveled bathroom and no contractor and have to start my search all over again - I'm forced to sue artistic tile for all damages . My advice to anyone considering shopping at Artistic Tile , take Gerard's advice; "shop somewhere else." Very untrustworthy company!!!! read more

Awesome tiles awesome staff - especially Irma who took a little sketch that I brought to her and helped me figure out what exactly I needed in shape size and design. She was fantastic and patient with multiple visits to figure things out. The delivery was a nightmare. The trucking company puts Artistic tile low on the list as they do the bulk of their work for JC Penny and Ikea. Tiles are a filler when they see fit. If you can pick up in Secaucus and avoid the delivery I would go for it. But if on a deadline or requiring an accurate delivery don't buy from here. read more

Superlative Design Assistance Throughout the Process I wandered into the 21st Street store, fully intending to pick the staff's brain and curated selection, and then order on-line. I'm quite sure my intentions were obvious, as I mentioned "price" and "cost" in every sentence, and asked for "tear sheets" with info about each tile I saw. Despite all that, my salesperson, Shannon Boehm, offered her full level of knowledge and service. She upended my clever plans, and I bought all my tile from Artistic. Yes, I paid more than I would have on-line. But two of the tiles I saw at Artistic Tile were not available on line. Including one glass mosaic that was stunningly beautiful and unique. Artistic Tile gave me a budget-preserving discount through my contractor. And sanity-and-soul-saving assistance from Shannon at every step in my renovation process. It was Shannon who first advised me to use an epoxy grout; who warned me about the quality differentials in square white wall tile; who advised me on EVERY design decision that came up. Far beyond the call of duty, and NOT available, on-line. Shannon shrugged off all my thanks, making it quite clear that she considers her level of assistance to be business-as-usual. I should also mention that I was never made uncomfortable, even though budget was a huge issue for me. Artistic Tile did have beautiful options within my range. Consistent with what's been said. The store is absolutely beautiful. I STRONGLY recommend you stay away if you're trying to stick to anything that resembles a conservative budget. But if you want to splurge... this is the place!!! The showroom can speak for itself. Reading all the negative reviews about service, I'm compelled to let people know that the person who took care of us was fantastic! Her name is Charlaine. I'm a bit frugal, or... as frugal as one can be in a store like this, and my fiance is very particular (read: we are probably a salesperson's nightmare). However, Charlaine was able to manage all our inquiries and never once acted annoyed, which is a strong feat considering I call multiple times in a day sometimes. I am also slow to pull the trigger on big ticket items, and she always seemed understanding and never rushed us. I vaguely remember not being serviced when we 1st walked in for the very 1st time, but - once we did meet Charlaine, it was a very positive experience. They have a customer for life in me (assuming I can continue to afford their products). All that said, I make it a point to ask for Charlaine every time I call or visit. I literally don't want to deal with anyone else. Not because their service sucks, but because Charlaine is just THAT GREAT!!! PS - On a side note, if you're reading this you're probably in market for a fabricator was well. I'm using Granite Tops, based or of Roselle, NJ. Their prices were 40% cheaper than quotes I found in the city. read more

I went into the showroom, where Darryel took the time to really help me. He volunteered to put together an estimate to send within a few days. And that was the end of that...... He responded to one email and promised some information by the end of the day. Never sent it, and never responded to my subsequent email. Why take so much time to help me in the store if there was no interest in having my order? Luckily, i have sourced the tile elsewhere (at lower cost), and am happy to give my business to a company that wants it. I had heard that Artistic Tile was not accommodating unless you were a designer, and it proved to be true. There seems to be no reason for them to have a showroom open to the public. read more

This is my first Yelp review... but I had to write about our excellent experience at Artistic Tile. I've always known the they are the leader in gorgeous original tiles, but after our visit there today, I'm convinced they are the best in the business. My mother is renovating a new home in south Florida and she is here visiting me this weekend to pick out her finishes. We visited Artistic Tile and had a wonderful appointment with Erma. She was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the products and incredibly helpful bringing our vision to life for the master bathroom. There are lots of stone and tile stores in NYC around 22nd street, but my experience at Artistic Tile was hard to beat First off, the range of stones and tile is terrific. Second the design associates are sterling. Ask for Mark McElligott, who is gracious, patient and so kind, with a keen eye. I had never chosen stone before and he ushered me through the process with the utmost serenity. The help at the stone yard in New Jersey was also stellar, and I wish I hadn't lost the name of the woman who helped me so carefully. I was hesitant to go there because it looked fancy (as in expensive), but my salesperson, roy, helped me find something I could afford. They have really really nice stuff, but the best part is that after you buy your tile they have someone take over and help you with the process -- making sure you have everything you need, talking to your contractor, giving advice and making sure it gets delivered when your building will let it go up the elevator! read more

I am a lifetime New Yorker who ran a NYC restaurant for more than 30 years and as such I have dealt with many, many contractors, repairmen, wholesalers, salesmen, employees, and the general public but I have NEVER had anything that approaches my experience with Artistic Tile. The level of incompetence was astounding. A simple order for tiles to repair damage from a leak in my shower stall turned into a three month nightmare. If a salesperson cannot write an order for one inch mosaic tiles correctly, or match the depth of the tiles that need replacing, then this person should find another line of work. After the second shipment of non-usable tiles arrived at my apartment, month two, I went back to the showroom, with tile in hand again, and chose simplest tile, 12x12, rather than wait another month for Artistic to cut them. Then they charged me again! I received a bill charging me for the tiles, shipment, and packing. I paid them in full two month ago for the tiles they screwed up and now I was supposed to pay for their mistakes. I refused. Another month passed and last week I received 10 12X12 tiles. I ordered 15 but now since it was their second replacement, and they were paying, their rule for ordering at least a third more went out the window. My contractor is in the bathroom now, trying to configure the tiles so that we will be able to finish the job. Two broke, but he thinks he can make it. Anything to keep me away from Artistic Tiles----a disaster! read more

She thought it might work for our recent bathroom renovation and it was my immediate favorite pick, from the moment I saw it.
