I took my car to Art's for a free 40-point inspection for AAA members. Seemed legit based on positive ratings from consumers. Also needed some basic maintenance such as an oil change and replacement of front brake pads. When I picked up my car, I expected some kind of 40-point checklist to let me know in exactly what state various and important parts like the battery would be in. But there was no checklist. I asked about the life of the battery, which they didn't know because they hadn't even checked it. Obviously they did not conduct a complete 40-point inspection. They proceeded to test it after I asked, revealing that the battery was in fact very low and needed to be replaced. Had they tested it earlier, as they should have, it could have been replaced that same day. Would have saved me a trip to another mechanic. But it gets worse. They proceeded to inform me that they used semi-synthetic oil, which would need to be changed in about 3,000 miles. My car takes synthetic oil, which lasts 7,500 miles. Seemed like a cheap trick to get me to come in again sooner. Any decent mechanic knows the proper type of oil a car needs. To top it off, I asked about the 10% discount provided to AAA members. They have a sign indicating the discount to customers at the desk. But there was no indication that the discount had been applied on the receipt I received. When questioned, I was told any documentation of the discount on the receipt would cause them issues when filing their taxes. Shady. If they had done a good job on the car, I might have excused some of these shortcomings, but now my front brakes are noisier than they ever were before, making loud screeches which indicates that they did a lousy job. I'm not happy with the result of my visit with Art's whatsoever. read more

This is my forever mechanic from now on. I had my car towed here few weeks ago because A few days prior I had took my BMW in for maintenance and all of a sudden my hoses were scratched and leaking I called BMW and they said it will be over 2000 to repair it and I thought yeah after you destroyed it so I had it towed because I heard really good things and great reviews about Arts Auto Care and since it wasn't too far from where I was located at the time I had it towed and I met Arabo, Can he be any more authentic? A very honest individual he's such an amazing guy straightforward doesn't try to rip you off he does a great job he works hard and you just overall epic I am so grateful that I ran into the Arabo instead of some money hungry mechanic that would rip me off. These guys are truly Top Notch!! I first stopped by Jiffy Lube to see if I could get a smog check despite better judgment as they are always over priced. A guy there was nice enough to not make me wait and re-directed me to Arts. From the moment I pulled up, the staff was very polite and knowledgeable. Arabo and his father could not have been nicer to work with. Even before meeting us, he accommodated us when our SUV had to be towed in the evening following two punctured  tires during the commute home. AAA suggested Arts Auto in Burbank , and Arabo  was very patient staying past his normal receiving hours to accept our car. He assessed the damage and offered us choices in tire replacement according to our budget and the jeep Cherokee's requirements. They were always communicative and available, and kept us abreast of the timeline for repair completion. They also worked seamlessly with our insurance and when we picked up the car, it had been cleaned and detailed to our surprise. My car broke down while on vacation in California, I was towed by AAA to Art's Auto Care. I thought that I had a busted hose or cracked coolant tank, my car over geared and coolant spilled all over. Arabo and his father spent half a day looking for a leak, and found nothing. My car just simply overheated. I don't know much about cars at all, they could have told me it was anything. took my crown vic to arts when it wouldnt start,was in town from palmdale.explained i had been having fuel circuit issues,told arabo exactly how to diagnose problem: to 1)check for 12 v at the fuel pump connector and 2) to apply 12 v directly to the pump and see if it runs. Im no slouch in fact a certified electrician my self and haqve done all the work related to such on this car myself. he then told me that was no guarantee that the problem wasnt gonna be the pump cuz 12 v directly applied to the pump wasnt the same as the 12 v coming from the cars electrical system.....? ok anyway told me he would "properly" diagnose the problem.then i suggested we put in a junkyard pump to save $. he said they couldnt do that because he couldnt warranty the repair like that....estimate forr 800$ to drop tank and r&r the pump. k sat he called and said it was the pump,and i authorized the repair. he also text me that he replaced the fuel filter too cuz it was"really bad" and may have been the reason the pump went out....I was suspicious about this cuz i had just replaced it w/ a oem dealer filter about a week earlier...hmmmm. picked the car up a couple days later and thanked them. after driving 5 miles i stopped for a burger, when i started the car it barely starte ran rough, i thought maybe there was some air in the line so i drove it for 30 min before heading into the dessert. then i stopped again when i restarted it it was runing poorly same issue. so i took it bk to them i told them my "ultragauge" indicated a fuel pressure problem and suggested the pump was bad. they put on their diagnoses tool and told me there was no code(of course not i said it was a pending code that hadnt matured to a check engine light yet)he told me my ultra gauge was wrong. it had never been wrong before sooo. he adamently guaranteed me that the pump was not the problem and said it was ok to drive it into the void of palmdale. the next morning i took it to my mech ,after i got there he said start it turn it off repeated this 3 times then the car ultimately would not start again! he removed the fuel line from the rail and when i turned on the key guess what?nothing...no fuel delivered he told me the fuel pump was bad.and promptly handed me an estimate for 600$ to replace it less in palomdale than burbank? highly illogical captain. I refused to do that based on the fact it was under warranty. so i had my friend from camarillo come ther and he suggest we put the "bad "pump back init a procedure that took 15 min w/out removing the tank done on jackstands that i had to supply cuz due to insurance reasons my mech wouldnt loan me his. well the car started right up on that"bad"pump(arabo later told me that was possible because maybe the motor was intermittent) I explained to art how a motor works either yes or no but he wasnt buying it. anyway to the customer service part: i called him explained the whole thing he told me he didnt make the new pump so it wasnt his fault after all what was i gonna do have it towed back to burbank? then he said"how do i (arabo) even know that the pump was in fact defective ? this is when I asked him"are you calling me a liar, you think i fabricated this story or what?)I then had my mech write up a svc order declaring "pump was not pumping fuel to motor" anyways arabo asked what i wanted hijm to do. I said fed ex me new pump right now same day delivery he said he would think about it and call me later. UNEXCEPTABLE!! I proceeded to returnt to arts from palmadale where we had a rather heated exchange.after all we put in a "NEW" pump for warranty reasons and that pump left me stranded in the dessert. all this after he let me leave his facility with my car in poor condition running rough idle spitting etc and guaranteed me it wasnt related to their repair work.ultimately this engagement ended when i asked him(and his father what they were gonna do about this situation. they told me "we are going to do absolutely nothing". i told them ill see you in court and left. fortunately i used credit card to pay for this and when i reported it to my bank they(who know nothing about these "scientific"isuues immediately returned my money. . additionally arabo told me he wouldnt help me with this issue cuz he didnt like my attitude,granted i was upset and even appoligized to them in advance for my etiquet based on the fact that he left me stranded in the dessert after denying any responsibility for letting me leave his facility w/ a malfunctioning automobile.btw i took the old fuel filter back to the dealer and compared it to one fresh off the shelf and the results were identical.I gave these guys every opportuniy to do the right thing(besides what skin off theie nose to warranty the pump?)VERY VERY dissapointing....cost me alot of extra money too . SHAME ON YOU ARTS AUTOMOTIVE!!! read more

This is one of the few honest auto repair shops you can find. I towed my disabled car to their garage and asked them to see what is wrong. They were recommended to me by the AAA operator that sent the tow truck and the same recommendation came from the tow truck driver. I thought the mechanic at the shop will find something major wrong and it will cost me a lots of money to fix. After all the car was not starting. To my surprise I received a call from Arabo, the customer service guy, and told that they ran different checks and tests on the car and there is nothing wrong with it. All they did is they charged the battery and the car was starting without failing. They could have told me that I needed to replace some parts and I would have done it, because I don't know any better. They are honest and honesty pays well, so when they recommended oil change, which it was in due time, I went for it and that was the only charge, they even waived the initial diagnostic charges which they told me about at the very beginning. By treating me with honesty and fairness they gained a customer for life. I highly recommend their services. read more

I called this shop early on a Saturday of a holiday weekend. A very nice gentleman, Jores, told me to go ahead and bring it in so he could at least take look at it. A very considerate thing to do since most shops were closing early for Memorial Day weekend. I took it in, he diagnosed it quickly and started off with the most inexpensive fixes. I told him my cigarette lighter also wasn't working so I wasn't able to charge my cell phone in the car and I was going on a long road trip. He had to take the entire panel under the steering wheel apart just to get to the fuse, but he did it, replaced the fuse, and didn't charge me an extra dime. I will take my car back to Art's anytime I have a problem. Highly recommend them. read more
