After working with Olive Auto Center for 13 years, I will no longer allow Bobby or anyone on his team to put their hands on my cars. I went in for a simple oil change. They rotated my tires at their own discretion (I did NOT request a rotation). I pick up my wife and 3 year old and we head home, driving on the highway at 70 MPH. I pull into the garage, get out of the car, and to my surprise see a lug nut on the ground. I look at the wheel and only 1 lug nut remained attached to the wheel - all others had fallen out. For those who don't know, lug nuts keep the wheels on your car! I took pictures immediately and called Bobby. They did NOT check this car before they gave it back to me. They were careless, lazy, and put my family's lives at risk. We came horrifyingly close to dying that evening, and I am still a bit in shock as I write this. It truly is a miracle the wheel didn't fall off in route. Bobby came to my house the next day to put on new lug nuts and I ended the relationship there. He knows they screwed up and if I had kept driving for 60 more seconds, it would have ended my family's lives. read more

I hate to do this but I have to inform others of my experience. I met Bobby and Tyler when I was having some issues with my battery connection and they fixed it beautifully. Since then I've gone in for oil changes and filter changes - no problem. Let's fast forward to the latest. My car - Hyundai Elantra 2015 sport had misfires while accelerating and my immediate reaction was to go see them. After their diagnosis, they determined there was a problem with the fuel pump and that the engine/trans had issues. Bobby told me I'd have to spend over 1.5k to fix it properly or do a cheaper fix for spark plugs replacement and recommended that I sell it. He even explained to me I was probably out of warranty since the 10 year/100000 miles meant whichever comes first(my car only has 52k). So I opted for the cheaper fix and was going to sell to Carmax, but I love my car and wanted a second opinion at Hyundai service center. After their diagnosis, I was told it was only an ignition coil replacement job and that the engine/trans were perfectly intact. So I called Bobby back to see if I could get a rebate for misdiagnosis, he told me that I was the one that had informed him on my desire to sell the car so that's why he did the cheaper repair, that he would've done the ignition coil change himself. So I chose to stop the pursuit(didn't want to linger the argument) Bobby and Tyler are great guys and their shop is a nice place. However, I almost sold a car that I love that still has plenty left for misdiagnosis and misinformation. I would've appreciated a small rebate but was denied and more importantly, it would've been an insanely stupid/terrible move for me to have sold my lovely car for a simple ignition coil replacement. Sadly, I am not sure if I trust their opinions anymore and not sure if I will be back for service. I do wish them all the best read more

Engine light turned on yesterday and I noticed a puff of smoke out the back of my car so I called immediately and Tyler had me come down so he could take a look at the Codes. Thankfully, I think I just needed the oil changed and the engine cleaned. I have a 2014 Ford fusion so I guess it was time for an engine cleaning. Car is running much better fingers crossed it continues. I appreciate them squeezing me in last minute to make sure we got that taken care of so hopefully no lasting damage to my engine. It was very bizarre because my car just put the change oil soon notification on 1-2 days beforehand. I'm thinking Ford might want to have that light come on a bit quicker? I got my rear brakes serviced due to air in my brake line. I also got my rear brake pads adjusted on Friday 08/02/2024. My brakes are good again. I replaced my own rear brakes to save myself money I did 90% of the job and just needed help adjusting my brakes pads and bleeding the brake line. I did approve the service because I had drove there early that morning to avoid any traffic since my breaks were not safe to drive with. Upon receiving my quote I wanted to go somewhere else but felt like it was not a good idea to drive with my brakes being unsafe. That's the only reason why I got my service done because I did not want to be a liability to others on the road. I did not feel good about the transaction since saving money was the purpose of doing my own brakes. I came to olive auto center because of reviews I read about having great prices. What others think are great prices may not be the same for you. I highly recommend calling multiple shops for prices before committing to one. I called other shops in Burbank and got quoted significantly less than what I paid. I hope this review may help others. read more

That made the situation worse, the way you handled it. You can charge whatever you want, it's your right, but don't berate your customer. Yes, forming a trusted relationship with a business is highly important, which is why we've decided to part because we feel you are no longer trustworthy. **EDIT to add... Well, Olive Auto Center is at it again: friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, professional - all-around great service. We have been bringing our cars in to them for years. Just as the weather started to get hot, our car decided to stop blowing cold air. Tyler was on the desk, and he quickly diagnosed the problem: the air conditioner was fine, but the blower was dead. The part would be in the next day, but they were slammed through the beginning of the next week. Bobby, the owner, decided that (to paraphrase) "we are not going to let you drive around all weekend in a hot car - the part will be in around 10 tomorrow, so you have the car in around noon and we will get it done". And they did - in about an hour. And the price was good. There is nothing like an air conditioned car on a hot day. We needed a new Battery for our 2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid which is an expensive repair. His honesty in walking us through this process was fabulous. That included interfacing with the Toyota dealership to help save us a ton of $!!! He went above and beyond what as expected. The repair was done within the time he told us. So i have been a pervious customer to Olive Auto for years simply because I'm newer to the LA area and this shop was recommended. Went to get my breaks (2022) and security system fixed around (2023) and when i left the lot, my wheel censor went off. Looking back at this now, that should have been my sign to never come back. On February 10th, I called the shop to make an appointment because I was hearing a rhythmic clicking (like a fan) in my car. I'm pretty well versed in my car and have worked on it when i can save money but i've never heard this noise before. When I called the shop and told the owner, Bobby, about the issue, he asked " does your car click when you turn the wheel?" I responded " no" because I knew he was referring to a busted CV axle. He responded with " oh that's your car then, totally normal" I told him i'd like to make an appointment to take a look at my car and start fixing things up. On the 14th I took in my car at 7:45 am and within 2 hours he recommended I get my brakes, suspension and tires replaced. I already knew all of this so I started with brakes with cost about 1k and had my car back within 4 ish hours. When I picked up my car, it was still making a rhythmic clicking noise. When out to enjoy valentines that night and was driving around DTLA when. i noticed the clicking noise getting louder. So much louder that my car was now vibrating and I had to pull over on the side of the road. At 1 am I had my car towed to Olive Auto. On February 16th, I had my car looked at again and Bobby claimed it was my cooling fan,compressor clutch and drive belt. To get everything fixed was going to be $2400. When I confronted him about the original reason I brought in my car was because of the clicking, and that is could have been avoided if he listened to what I had to say, He was combative and claimed that " the car wasn't making that noise when he looked at it" I want to make it known that the clicking noise was the reason I brought my car in to begin with. If the owner truly cared about his customers, he wouldn't be deflecting blame instead of listening. This "mistake" cost me around $1600 in rentals, ubers and the cost for the new breaks I would have held out on getting if this issue was diagnosed first. Burbank has ALOT of very very well known and customer service shops. I've only been hearing bad things about Olive auto since I stopped going. Learn from my mistake and never give this shop your money. read more

I was looking for a local independent auto repair shop for my 2017 VW Tiguan. Olive Auto Center did one repair for me, full front brake job. The cost was $160 more than my dealer estimate but I wanted to give them a try. Big mistake. My brakes started squeaking about a month later and I brought it back and they did nothing. Soon after that my car was at the dealer for something else and they told me my brake fluid was dirty and showed it on a video but Olive had just replaced it so I went back again and showed them the video and they again did nothing. Now it's over a year later and my front brakes are making loud noises so I brought my car to another mechanic and they told me I need a full front brake job, my rotors are damaged. But they have a two year warranty from Olive so I called them and they told me to bring it and they took a quick look and said no it must be your driving we are not applying the warranty. If you value your car, time and money I recommend you stay clear of Olive Auto Center. They do not stand by their work even if they tell you upfront that they do. read more

I would have given them ZERO stars if I could.. First time customer, Feb 12th 2024 I brought my Jeep to Olive Auto Center due to positive reviews. I explained to Bobby about my concerns and make sure my Jeep was okay. Bobby tested driving my Jeep around & said "there was no noise" at first but two problems- first, engine mounts weak. Second, rear shock absorbers leaking. I told Bobby to replace shock absorbers & change oil only. I decided to hold engine mounts because it costs too expensive. After replacing shock absorbers, Oilve Auto returned Jeep to me with the new noisy problem (strut mounts) didn't bother to inform me WHILE Oilve Auto was replacing shock absorbers. Left me stuck with new problem, so noise whenever I drive. I called Bobby about noise- he told me to see the note about noise on an invoice paper and would cost me more $$$ for new strut mounts. Total almost $3,000 for all shock absorbers, oil change, engine mounts and surprise strut mounts. Red flag Bless my friend referred me to her trusted auto repair for a second opinion today- repair guy found the problem that Oilve Auto Center install strut spares was incorrectly upside down. He and crew removed and fixed strut spares correctly- the noise disappeared. Nothing's wrong with engine mounts. Saved me a lot of money. I am very disappointed in Oilve Auto Center trying to overcharge me for their screwup mistakes. Will not go back ever again. All I'm saying is don't let Oilve Auto Center's positive reviews fool you. read more

After they diagnosed it they called me and told me it was a factory defect tire and I could bring the car back to where I purchased the tire from and get it replaced for free.
