Definitely not your typical car buying experience!…read more I found a car here online that I was very interested in seeing and set up an appointment with Caroline. The next day I drove two hours from out of state to view and test drivr the car in person. When I arrived, Caroline greeted me and mentioned they were putting new brakes and rotors on the front and that it would be ready very soon to drive. As it was close to lunchtime, the employees were all setting up a group order from a fast food restaurant, and after Caroline learned that I was a huge pizza fan she personally ordered and bought me a large pie from a local spot. Who does that? One of the sweetest genuine people and what a super thoughtful gesture. She said I needed a large to take some home for my family to try. I proceeded to have lunch with the staff in their break room and enjoyed great conversation - mind you I have not purchased the car, let alone test drove it- and they were treating me like an old friend! At one point I joked that I would just come back daily for lunch! After a belly-full I test drove the car and Caroline made sure to let me feel the car on the hwy as well as city streets. I got to meet the owner (Phil) as well, and the hospitality continued throughout. After making the purchase, Phil said he could pick me up from the train station if I wanted to come back up to drive it home. I decided on shipping it, and Caroline went above and beyond to find a shipper and help coordinate- something that was not even their responsibility! She was extremely thorough and organized all the documents I needed including the papers for titling in my state. There was a delay in shipping partially due to the holiday weekend but Caroline continued to help by putting pressure on the shippers and even seeking potential alternatives if needed- amazing A+++ service! Folks- this place overflows with customer service. From the first second that I walked in til the moment I left, everyone I saw greeted me, spoke with me, made sure I was comfortable and contributed to the most stress-free car buying afternoon ever. Sell them your car, buy a car, have them locate a car for you- whatever you do, it is worth the visit! So refreshing to see a no haggle, no pressure, genuine experience in today's age.

Everyone wants to know what is it like to sell your car to CarMax. I can only tell you about my own…read morepersonal experience here. It was fantastic. I submitted a request for a quote on my car, I was pleased with their offer which exceeded most others by several thousands of dollars. It was exactly $2K below the current market value of my car according to CarFax. It was not the highest offer but I trusted CarMax based on my research and their reputation to deliver, and they did. Well financially they delivered. I had to deliver my car to them. However, let me contrast that with CarGuru who offered me more money and was willing to pick my car up BUT I would not get my money on th spot. That would come 2-3 days later and of course there was no guarantee it would match their offer. Well all I can say to that is no, No, NO THANK YOU! I followed my instincts about CarGuru and while walking my dog the evening before delivering my car to CarMax, I met a fellow dog walker who turned out to in the car selling business and told me NOT to deal with CarGuru. He said to stick to CarMax or CarVana only. That is hot off the dog network (as I call it) people. CarMax was easy. I got their offer, made an appointment for the following day, drove my car there and received the exact amount of money they originally offered me. I was in and out of CarMax with my check in hand in an hour and a half, and I was about 15 minutes late. By the way, the only reason I was 15 minutes late was because I made the decision to have my car detailed before brining it in to be sold. It is certainly did not hurt the evaluation process. Everyone I met there was friendly and professional from the front desk check in person to Andrew who handled my sale. I had a completely positive experience here and I highly recommend them. Last but not least, if you do head to this CarMax store, be sure to hit Arethusa Farm in East Haven. CT, approximately 3.5 miles from CarMax. They have the world's best coffee ice cream. And you thought this was a non-food related review! Lmao!

I knew after speaking with 2 different sales reps on the phone on two separate occasions that something about this place was extremely shady!!!! I can't thank everyone enough for their honest feedback. They are most likely getting these vehicles for dirt cheap down South where they are all sitting in flood waters. SMH makes sense to me why they don't back anything up. I am so sorry all those who got taken advantage of. It's too bad that people can't stick together anymore. In any case, I won't be going there and will also spread the word. Thanks again!!!

So far the transition to Crabtree was a little rocky however, things have definitely improved to date. I'm writing about my most recent experience going into Crabtree with every intention of just looking around to see the latest models. I had been researching cars for multiple months to make a decision on switching vehicles from my Toyota. On the day that we came in, I had no intention of walking away with a new vehicle, but that's exactly what happened! Upon walking in, our family was welcomed by Erian who was very warm and accommodating. Although our family of four can seem intimidating to some sales people, he took us on with no complaint, eagerly showing us around and allowing us the opportunity to test drive the 2026 TX. I also wanted to check out the GX that day, however, there were none in stock at the time being that they're in very high demand. So we explored the floor model of the TX and literally drove it out of the showroom for the test drive, which went very smoothly. Erian was very helpful along the test drive, pointing out the bells and whistles of the car to get us acclimated with its power and what it can do. Upon entering the showroom, he was very diligent and thoughtful and drafting up the most important part: the numbers! It was really important for me to stay within a specific price point and he worked his hardest to make that happen. I was really grateful that he was so helpful throughout this entire process, and although it can be scary and intimidating, he really made it a breeze. He was a joy to work with, even following up with me personally after the fact to make sure that everything was fine and to ensure that I was taking advantage of the services offered for my new vehicle. I would highly recommend working with Erian at Crabtree Lexus of New Haven to anybody!

Even though we have closer option, there was no question that we would be returning to Brandfon for car. From the initial phone call to driving off the lot, the employees were professional, accommodating, and kind. They were transparent and we felt no pressure in the friendly, warm environment. We were given the time we needed to discuss our options with Dennis, the sales manager. He helped us make a decision and there were no hidden fees. Dennis went out of his way to find a vehicle on the lot so we could drive away with it the same day. There were no Tuscons on the lot that matched what we were looking for, so Dennis found a higher model and gave us an exceptional deal. The sales and leasing consultant, Tyler, was very patient with us. He was extremely knowledgeable and spent time making sure that we felt comfortable. Tyler really seemed to prioritize a relationship with us, rather than just making a sale. He communicated with the service department, making sure our car was ready for us as fast as possible. Tyler spent time reviewing the car with us and going over all the features. He reached out the day after we got the car to ensure we were comfortable with the vehicle and its features, as well as setting us up on the Bluelink app so we could use all the technology that is available to Hyundai owners. Rafael, the business manager, went through the financing we us, making the most stressful part of the day when buying or leasing a car much more comfortable. He provided all the information to us in a clear manner, and just as he had with our last purchase, Rafael felt more like a friend than a businessman while still remaining professional. We left feeling comfortable and very happy with our lease agreement. My husband and I would absolutely recommend Brandfon as the dealership to use when buying a Hyundai. Our experience was excellent from start to finish. They handled us with a kindness and professionalism that is hard to find in the car industry. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Brandfon Hyundai for a comfortable and seamless leasing experience.

Service Oversights, Disrespectful Management, and Zero Goodwill…read more A few days ago, expecting safety and professionalism, I brought my Chevy Cobalt to this dealer for an alignment and four-wheel balancing after a bad experience with another shop. The Chevy technician noted a bent front rim and rotated it to the rear. I returned 3 days later with a replacement wheel for them to finish the job. Unfortunately, the service shop committed a safety oversight by returning my car with 43 PSI instead of 30 PSI for the tire they mounted onto the front left. The remaining tires were at the correct factory specification of 30 PSI. After leaving, the car was drifting and pulling to the right. Leaving a front tire overinflated by 13 PSI created a rolling diameter imbalance. I pulled over on the side of the road, confirmed the 43 PSI with my gauge, and bled the pressure back down to 30 PSI to make the car safe. The steering drift instantly disappeared. Furthermore, upon leaving the shop, the front end developed a loose clunking sound. I had recently installed a new stabilizer link and knew it was very snug before arriving. When the dealership placed the car on the hoist, the dead weight of the suspension hanging free likely jarred the link out of its initial seat. While the dealership isn't technically responsible for my DIY installation, the manager flatly refused to provide a 5-minute courtesy torque check of a nut to ensure I could drive away safely, simply because I had installed the part. When I returned to report these safety issues, the Service Manager refused to take accountability. Instead, he questioned my motives and falsely insinuated that I was just trying to get free services from his shop and the prior tire shop, which was deeply disrespectful to a customer. While walking away, he claimed a 13 PSI tire pressure imbalance "would never cause a car to drift" and blamed the pulling on the link--violating basic automotive physics, as stabilizer links control body roll, not tracking. He then advised me I should be inflating all my tires to 35 PSI instead (violating my GM factory door placard specs) and told me to go wait in the lobby. After being left stranded in the waiting room for a long time with no update, I left in utter disgust, driving my clunking car home to East Haven. Because of their refusal to act on a courtesy gesture for the inconvenience and oversight with the tire pressure blunder, a senior had to spend over an hour in his garage jacking up the car and crawling underneath to awkwardly pull down with body leverage--despite dealing with a torn rotator cuff--just to get the link torqued properly. I succeeded, and the car is now safe and quiet, but only because I corrected both safety issues myself. They committed multiple service oversights and chose to insult a new customer's character rather than show basic goodwill. They saved themselves 5 minutes of labor, but wasted over two hours of my time. If you expect professionalism and safety, avoid this service department and dealership.
