Vic, the owner of Art's Auto Service has been very reliable, trustworthy & dependable. Everytime I go to his shop to fix my car, he is always there for me And this is my story (why I said that over & over). My Toyota Corolla 2004 was stucked in a Superstar Car Washing facility in Gardena due to shifter not working all of a sudden, after a day of driving around without noticing any problem with it. It was 7 pm. Called AAA for battery check & technician said everything was okay except the shifter & maybe it was the transmission, suggested getting a tow. Had to park the car overnight at the carwash & next morning, called AAA again. Tow technician, said it must be the cable & he let me drove the Toyota manually without touching the shifter, drove it to Vic. Vic looked at it & said it was not the cable, it was a bushing unit disconnected to the shifting gear that was broken due to wear & tear. The cables or coils are fine & he charged me $120 for the service. He said no need to replace anything. Got my car back in operation same morning, did not have to wait too long. Another Vic's gesture of good customer service--he fixed my car without prior notice, just a phone call, honestly explained to me the problem & my car is now back to normal. Thank you Vic. Go see Vick, who's as much of a master detective as a mechanic. He found a pinhole leak in a tiny rubber hose of my gas tank's internal fuel pump. The 3-year-old pump assembly, was otherwise fine, so he replaced just the offending hose and fairly, charged me only for labor. That's Integrity. read more

There was a noise coming from the front of my xtera that I thought was a wheel bearing. It didn't sound horrible but I don't like taking chances which could result in wheels falling off. I left the truck with Vic for a day during which he test drove and put it up in the rack. Turns out there was nothing mechanically wrong and the noise is likely the tires. Great! I asked Vic how much for the evaluation and said nothing. Such a class act. Next time something breaks I'll be coming back for sure. read more

When I tried to have it towed, AAA wouldn't cover it as Roadside Assistance (jerks!) I took my 2002 Toyota 4Runner to Arts Auto Service the other day. I had been driving my car and all of a sudden it started running terribly rough and 3 of the check engine lights went on. I decided to call a place that was right across the street from American Tire Depot where I have been getting my tires for the last 20 years. When I called over I talked to Vick and he said "just bring it in first thing in the a.m.", when they opened . I dropped it off the next day and after a full check up they found out it was just a faulty ignition wire, but also found that the previous Mechanic had put in the wrong spark plugs which actually solved a previous problem of lack of engine performance. all in all a few hours after I had dropped it off they had completely fixed the problem and less than 24 hours after the problem started it was completely fixed. Customer service there was great! Vick was all about explaining what he was doing and what he had done. The cost was more than reasonable, and I will be bringing my car in for service there for now on. read more

This is my go to mechanic now. They are so nice and knowledgeable about cars. I've come here 4 or 5 times now in the last few years and recommend them to all my friends. They've taken care of all my cars issues in a timely fashion and explained clearly to me what was wrong. There's even been a couple times they told me what was wrong and how to fix it then charged me nothing because they didn't fix it. I thought my alternator was broken they tested it was my battery and he noticed how new it was and still under warranty by AAA. Helped me get a new battery from them. MUST READ: First of all the guy is just a super friendly, kind, and honest. I came in to get my toyota camry's power steering fluid changed and the cabin air filter replaced but the dealership was charging me almost 400 bucks for all that work being done so I looked up reviews and this shop stood out to me with a lot of good ratings. So I went by, only little small con but nothing major was that the office is very small and communication over the phone isn't the best but when you meet the people in person it's a good vibe you get. They did everything i needed for 120 bucks! I find their pricing semi low but still fair and competitive with other shops for a good quality work. ON TOP OF THAT he is honest and showed me the old filter I had and popped my hood and showed me the clean power steering fluid to show he isn't scamming people so these people are very trustworthy! Well, what can I say. In the words of Britney Spears, OOPS, Vick did it again. Without warning, the driver's side of my window, which was rolled all the way down, would no longer work. I was concerned about possible rain and flooding inside my car. This happened late Thursday and I wasn't near Art's automotive. I wasn't even sure if Vick worked on windows but decided to drive over and find out. I also called the dealership and was not prepared to pay close to $900.00 for an estimate over the phone and $160.00 just for them to diagnose the problem. I explained the issue and Vick was able to assess, provided me with an extremely, reasonable price and the car was ready early the next day. I have a Honda CRV and unfortunately pulled the car with my RV with the emergency brake on for several miles because we had to flee in a hurry from the approaching wildfire. I took the car to the Kastner Honda in Napa and they #1 didn't have the parts to fix it for 4 days and #2 they wanted $2,700.00 to fix it. We were leaving the next day so they disconnected the emergency brake so I could tow it home. I took the car to Art's Auto Service and Vic (super nice guy) not only repaired the emergency brake but checked all the brakes and got rid of a squeak in the steering. I had stopped by three places before coming here because all of them were busy. Vic was in the middle of working on a car as well, but he was the only mechanic who stopped to not only help me, but show me how to do it, saying that it's not so hard once you know what to look for. This shop has earned all my future auto business. I own a Lexus and have been taking my car into independent Lexus shops because its a lot cheaper than going into the stealerships. I thought since hey, they specialize in Lexus cars so they must know everything to know about Lexus cars. Nope. I took my car into Lexus shop I've been going to, but recently I realized they don't seem to know what they are doing. I took my car there twice for the same brake issues, and after taking it in, it seemingly got worse each time. Even after paying more money for something I probably didn't need. I got a little fed up with them so I got referred to Arts auto service. I took my car in this morning and within 10 mins, the tech already knew one of the problems and fixed it for free.
