If i could give them 10 stars i would! Yesterday my run flat tire literally popped as i was getting off the 10 fwy to work. Pressure was dropping fast and once i parked, it was obvious i couldn't drive off to a gas station even to get some air. Local car guru! Alex was really nice and patient with me as I described my problem (splash guard was dragging underneath my chassis). He told me over phone to bring it in to him to get it looked at, and he put it on his lift to diagnose what was going on pro bono. I initially started by generating a project right here on yelp. I was suggested a quote for replacing my brake pads by many auto shops but none had the follow through to get my business that this place had! Brian, the sons owner called me directly. He was able to get me the parts the day before I came in and get the job done the day of all within the time and price agreed.  I know very little about cars and about car care. Brian looked at my car and suggested some things I needed based on the need of that specific part in the car. I had not done any major work on my vehicle in years so I went along and got my engine filter changed and tossed in a synthetic oil change with the brake pads I came in for! They have a waiting room for customers here. Brian came in and explained everything about what he was doing and why it mattered. I have never seen such a dedicated person, he really own this craft! His commitment is unparalleled to anyone I have encountered in the auto care industry.   The job took between two and three hours, they finished well before the agreed time I had to go run errands for the day. They even tested the car after to see if the job was done correctly. I want to highly recommend this auto shop because of overall quality of service! This review is a little overdue, but definitely better than gatekeeping a great shop. I've owned my 1987 Honda Civic Si for 3 years now and have done a lot of the work myself. I had some concerns with a timing belt replacement and the adjustment I did on my own, Alex not only gave me the best pricing for the job, but also let me know I wasn't far from off. He made the small adjustment, and then went on to help fix a starting issue which turned out to be an aging distributor that honestly I should have replaced when I first purchased the car. It's been about 2 months since the job took place and I have had no concerns with reliability or the quality of the work. Wow! That was my initial reaction when I got my car back within 3 days for MAJOR work that I was told by others that would take at least a week or two. Alex and his team are incredibly efficient, knowledgeable and very fair priced and got the job done! I had called many shops to get my car fixed and many of them would not touch or were not able to do the major work I needed as they said Audi engines were more complicated. This mechanic didn't know what he was doing, and he must not want business. Not only does he not properly inspect the car's problem, he seems to want you out of his face as soon as possible. On top of his attitude he doesn't know the car part's ID number, correct name, or even if he needs it. When it comes to fixing the vehicle, theres no proper estimate for the amount of, time for repair, damage, risk, or cost of repair. I had to ask the office for a quote because he kept forgetting how much he was charging me like 3 times. After trial and error of having to figure out what part was needed, mailing and returning unwanted parts, transporting said parts with malfunctioning car. I started feeling sketch, I figured it needed another part or so, I asked and he said it would function ok. I didn't want ok I wanted good, so I asked how much to replace the other part. He said no its fine, and he would only do the part that is broken. Obviously, the other part finally ended up giving out. I eventually had to tow the car there and back while realizing he didn't care if my car got fixed. Worst of all, the part that was replaced wasn't put in properly and there was so much more to the issue, so the car didn't end up fixed at this location. I'm upset that they allowed the situation to get worse, so I would come back and try to charge me more for every time I did, while he acted like I didn't have work or needed a car. I called around for over an hour to get a tow of an in-op vehicle. I wish I had called Alexander 1st. I explained to him I had an old car that doesn't run at all that needs to be towed across town for restoration. He told me he could come to my house in 20min & gave me a more than fair price. 10min later he was there! I was glad to see he brought a flatbed and help. They then helped me get the car out of my backyard (one helped push the other steered) & we were off and running in a few minutes. It was a great experience all the way around. I just moved to Los Angeles from San Francisco and have a guy in San Francisco that I trust with my car implicitly. He doesn't hose me, doesn't overcharge me and really cares about what he does. I needed what would be simple repairs, and, as usual, it's never simple. I took my car to Alexander. He was very prompt in responding and extraordinarily courteous on the phone. I called him on Monday. He told me to come in first thing Tuesday morning. I was there right at 8am and they opened about 7:50 which was great. I told Alexandert my personal circumstances, and I was blown away by how accommodating, kind, and considerate he was given what I shared. Not only that, but he thoroughly explained what was happening with my car, so that I understood. it's easy to get led astray with car repairs, especially being overcharged. I like to be in long-term relationships with people who help me with every day issues. I think this will be one of them.
