There was a coupon in the mail for a synthetic oil change special, so that is what brought me here. Their online appt system was super easy and I appreciated that they had a shuttle/rideshare service to take you home so you don't have to wait around for your car. I found the experience overall very pleasant and their team is very friendly. It's a small shop with a 1 car entrance so can be easy to miss if you aren't paying attention to your GPS. I wasn't aware of this ahead of time, but they specialize in European cars. I drive a Toyota so most likely will utilize an auto shop that focuses on Japanese cars in the future if there was anything more complex that needed to be diagnosed. I drive a hybrid Mini Countryman. I've been taking my car to MMS for years. They've always taken great care of my car. No hard selling of services. Fair pricing for work that needed to be done. Quality work. Friendly people. I took my car in this time because a message popped up that said "High-voltage system fault". Scary. But before I got to MMS, the message went away. With that, the exact problem wasn't clear. MMS ran an assessment, drove the car around, even put gas in my car. At the end, because they didn't find the problem, they did not charge me. I repeat, they did not charge me! I asked twice, said they really at least should charge me for an assessment. Jessie said no twice. He then thought, maybe I can pay for the gas they put into my car, which I did. If I didn't persist, they were going to let me walk away with free gas! I'm a car idiot. MMS could have easily taken advantage of me in this situation. They didn't. They're good people. I highly recommend! read more

I was desperate for a mechanic close to my work for a last minute headlight change. I'd tried to do it myself and failed. I found this spot and when I rolled up I was so nervous because it looked like a place for luxury cars, and I didn't think they'd take any time to help out my beat up 1997 4runner. Or if they did, I figured it was going to cost an arm and a leg. I was SO wrong! I drove up and they showed me where to park, welcomed me, and told me they'd change my headlights no problem. Needed an oil change but didn't feel like driving far so I found a local spot thru Yelp. Called Tuesday and was able to make an appointment for next day (I called late afternoon). So here I am 9:30 (I was 15min late) in the morning. The entrance is quit small so you will have to look carefully. I missed it but no big deal, easy u-turn back. Place is a nice little boutique style shop. Very clean. Only one other customer waiting inside when I arrived but I was able to sit outside in the back area. Lady in the front, Vanessa was very friendly. She immediately helped us and also brought us bottled water to drink. Jesse was the mechanic that worked on the mini. He inspected the car and walked me thru some minor issues and gave me a quote. He's incredibly thorough and knowledgeable. I also got to meet the owner Mike and found out that he's partnered up w his buddy Jesse and Vanessa's his sister. All super nice people and great vibes. I ended up getting my oil changed and air filter changed. And will be back to get the rest of the items fixed. They wipe down and sanitize everything afterwards, a major plus for me. Let me preface this by saying I really wanted to like this shop and from the reviews seems like I might have found a gem, but unfortunately not the case. I Went in for the first time to get my oil changed even making an appointment a week in advance. Got called the day before the appointment to be told they overbooked and asked if I could come in the following day. A bit of an inconvenience but the special was a great price so figured why not. Got to my "waiting" appointment but then told the shop they could keep it and call me when they were done. The appointment was at 11 and the tech told me I would get a call between 2-4. Well, I ended up having to call the shop myself at 5:30 (30 mins before closing) and was told it was fine for a while now. Ok so don't value customers time, got it. Was then informed I needed some further work done to which I asked for a quote and the shop said they would call me the next couple business days for a quote. Well that was nearly 2 weeks ago and zero communication. Shame because was planning on getting extensive work done (engine/transmission swap etc). Conclusion: if you don't mind your time wasted or not valued then this place could work but if you want any form of communication or general respect I recommend going elsewhere, I know I am. read more

Me before I went: "Damn, how is it even possible for anything on Yelp to have nothing but five star reviews?!" Me now: "Ohhhh, I get it" Reponded within a day with a reasonable quote. Accidentally ran into an October oil special, not sure how they're staying afloat with deals that barely cover parts. General rates are $135/hr for labor, on par with Mini shops in the general LA area. Fantastic communication by both e-mail and text with full estimates and photos for every section. I've been to quite a few Mini only shops in LA and the bay area. I'm a little jumpy because I had a shop up north screw up a big repair and had to bring my car in multiple times for warranty repairs. This time during my oil change, the team found an oil leak I had gotten fixed last year at a different shop. Went back to that other shop who insisted there wasn't a problem. Jessie really stepped up and both communicated with the other shop on my behalf, then acknowledged how frustrating this is for the customer and offered to handle the repair as if it was his warranty. That is above and beyond service from someone who wants to be your long term mechanic. Can be a little hard to find since it's a single car entrance. Just wait until you get inside and it opens up! The rainy day I was accused of trying to steal an oil change. I was waiting inside their cold, unpleasant "waiting" area when I was told that my car was done. I paid and had my paperwork, glad to leave. I went outside to the curb, the owner (?) was in the car. He looked at me strangely. He said he didn't want to open the door because of the oncoming traffic (there was plenty of room). I stood there getting wet. He wondered what I was doing there, he was still checking the car. He didn't believe that I had already paid, insisting on seeing the paperwork. It was very unpleasant. Steal an oil change? Are you nuts? You have my license number, VIN, phone number, who knows what else - I am going to try to steal $140? Two years before that I paid over $1400 for work on the cooling system. Now I don't have $140? I went back in and waited. They brought the car back in with one of those oil stickers on inside A pillar. I don't like stickers on my car, especially without being asked. I took it off and said "please don't put stickers on my car without asking". Later I was told that I "tore" it off, some kind of implied violence there, I think. Crazy. I was happy to leave. The work that they have done is good, they seem thorough. Realize that they do not offer bargain prices by any means - probably not much less than the dealer. However the customer service part falls short in my opinion. Just from the start, over the phone, the service manager told me it would $185 to assess my car! Then he hemmed and hawed over whether it would apply towards repairs. I pushed him and he agreed to waive given that I was a returning customer. Turns out I was just a quart of oil low and needed an oil change. $185 service fee would have been crazy. Another example. Rainy day, my car is inside the shop. Above is a set of windows and a long beam. There is this yellow-ish colored water dripping onto my hood. Some chemical from the roof or who knows what. I just had the hood painted, less than a year ago (courtesy of a deer) and I didn't want the clear coat to get stained. Unknown chemical + auto paint = Problem. When I asked someone to move my card, strange attitude. The only reason I went there two years ago was because my long time mechanic retired when they lost their lease. Trust me (they didn't!) I won't go back, not after being treated like a thief. read more
