Never had Yemeni coffee before, so take what I say with a grain of caution, but the aroma was something I have yet to experience before and I fell in love with the cup even before I took my first sip. I ordered a Jubani for myself and Americano for my wife. The aroma was on a different level. I did have a reaction to the cardamom, ginger ad cinnamon in that I was not used this combination, but it was smooth and enhanced the flavors of the coffee. Service was on spot. It seemed to have just opened before their 'grand opening' (I visited in early August) but it was timely. read more

Went for the grand opening this Saturday!! Super cute inside, love the decor. We tried the palm date matcha, pistachio latte, and the cheesy flatbread, as well as a few of the small cookies (3 for $5!). The pistachio latte tasted like real pistachio; you can tell they don't use a typical syrup. The date palm flavor tasted like a house made blend as well, and even though we got almond milk in both, the lattes were both incredibly rich and sweet. We also got to try the Adeni tea which was spiced to perfection!! The employees were all super sweet and efficient despite the long lines that come with a grand opening, and we could tell that managers were walking around ensuring everyone was taken care of, which was a nice touch. Stopped by while we were seeing the town. Had their cinnamon and cardamom latte and their date and white chocolate latte. Both were solid. Had some sweet and savory baked goods. Of those items the baklava was our favorite! Honestly this place seems perfect to work at. Really beautiful inside (you can tell they care about the interior) and vibey. There's a wall perfect for photos with a chair and LED light should that be something you're into. Can't comment on parking as we walked there. read more

Checked out Arwa Yemeni Coffee for the first time and had a pretty good experience. When walking in, the interior was really pleasant. There was warm, lighting and a good amount of tables that are well spaced and not too cramped together. I went in the morning and it seemed like there were a lot of people trying to do work there with most of the tables just having one person of them. All of the tables were occupied, so there was no place to try to grab a seat unless maybe asking to share a table with somebody. They have a lot of really good sounding drinks from traditional coffee to some classic espresso/coffee drink and matcha. They also do have a seasonal or special menu with some fun coffee or matcha that you can try. Lots of pastries/bakery items too. I decided to try the sand dune latte and got it with oat milk. They have oat milk and almond milk as non-dairy options. It seems most of the menu is easy to make non-dairy or is already non-dairy, so that is nice! I really liked the taste of the latte and thought it was really well balanced without being too sweet. I would definitely get it again. The only drawback is that it was a little over $9 for just the standard drink with oat milk. Quality was great but that is up there in price for a latte. read more

A rainy day is a perfect day to visit Arwa Coffee. It lifted my spirits immediately with its warm ambient lighting, luxe finishes, and dramatic canopy. There is plenty of seating for 1-4 people each, but it filled up quickly after I got there, with folks meeting for a coffee and quite a number of laptops. The staff were nice but seemed rushed, not surprising since it was busy with the weekday lunch rush. It was my first time there so I had a few questions about the traditional Yemeni drinks. I wanted a coffee drink with dairy-free milk, but it sounded like many of the traditional drinks are premade with regular milk. In the future I would consider a sampler flight to share (4 traditional drinks set up like a more elegant beer flight on a wooden tray), since there were spiced non-milk drinks that seemed intriguing. I ended up opting for the Yemeni latte with almond milk. It was rather pricey ($7.50 plus $1 for almond milk), but I love cardamom, and their spice blend (generously sprinkled on top in the shape of a camel) really did make it a special latte, if a bit on the sweet side. They also have oat milk as a non-dairy option. There are a number of baked goods that didn't look particularly special but offered a bunch of options, from savory flatbreads and spinach/shawarma triangles to croissants and sweets like baklava (one type). The desserts were mostly European like napoleons and tiramisu, but they did have a honeycomb bread that looked delicious as well as a rice pudding. I got a potato bun, which was tasty enough for a pre-lunch snack and had a nice springy dough. I wish it had a bit more filling and a bit more spice and flavor, though. I also wish they had a cardamom bun in this format or other, to mirror the cardamom in their drinks. I would definitely come back to try some of their other drinks. Unfortunately, they don't have gluten free pastries available, but then again, not many Middle Eastern bakeries do. (I am usually gluten free but had enough leeway to indulge a bit today.) read more

I've heard such great things about Arwa and had wanted to try it for ages - and I'm very glad I did. I ordered the Yemeni Latte, and it was exceptional - it was bursting with flavor and was so rich. Its presentation was also so cute! There are also so many other drinks on their menu that look delicious! The ambience of the place is cute, but it is extremely crowded and loud - probably because it was the middle of the day on a Sunday though. The service was great and the servers were friendly. I enjoyed my experience at Arwa - I will definitely be returning again to drink that incredible latte and maybe try other drinks too! read more

When I walked in, it felt like a wonderful return trip to those times and places: the smells, the sights, the feels. Gorgeous space, worth stopping in just to check out the decor and atmosphere. And then you check out the menu: pricey yes, but such fun and unique items and flavors. They've got all the bases covered: strong coffee, tasty tea, frilly sugary drinks topped with whipped cream, little snackies and sweets, something for everyone. I got the sand dune latte and it was rich and sweet and a nice treat on a very hot day. I was hoping to try one of the drink flights (how fun!), but there were no seats available to park myself at, and I'm not sure how portable a flight would be- next time. I do wish there was more seating in general, but it's a small space that gets very crowded, so not much you can do there aside from going off-hours. Lovely coffee place! This place offers novel flavors that are delicious and fun to try. We got the Yemeni Latte and Sand Dune Latte (both half sweet). The Sand Dune Latte was our favorite-- and more than sweet enough being half sweet. Next time I would get the Yemeni Latte at normal sweetness. We went on a Sunday and it was bustling. Even with a 10 person line, it took only 5-8 minutes to get our drinks after ordering. The facility was sparklingly clean and the decorations were beautiful. Their speciality drinks are on the pricy side but a great treat for every once in a while. read more

I had high hopes for Arwa Yemeni Coffee and was really looking forward to its opening, which made the experience even more disappointing. The coffee is overpriced and does not taste good at all. Definitely not what you would expect for the price. The baked goods were even worse. Almost everything looked like it came straight from Costco or a generic food service distributor. Nothing looks fresh or appealing. The baklava trays were the worst I have ever seen, cut unevenly like a child did it. The cake slices are clearly not freshly made either. They also had these bizarre-looking small pizzas that looked like they had been sitting out for two days. Completely unappetizing. Disappointing, overpriced, low quality, and not worth it. Brookline is lucky to be Arwa's new home! In such a competitive cafe scene, they really blow it out of the water. I've made my way there many times already, proving that it's already a staple in my day to day. Creative latte art, amazing quality coffee, and enough choices ranging from sweet to savory pastries. The staff is so kind and you can tell they're people-first! Also, they have great photo opportunities I can't wait to bring my friends here when they're in town. I wanted to relate my experience today at the Cafe. I was extremely disappointed in the whole experience. I ordered and paid for two iced coffees and two almond croissants. After what I thought (compared to all other coffee 'spots') was a long wait, my order was called out for pickup. Two iced coffees and ONE croissant were given to me. I mentioned that I had ordered TWO croissants and the cashier informed me that I had ordered only one. She wanted to show me the receipt. Until then, I was just going to forget that I had ordered TWO croissants and (thought I had) paid for TWO. She offered to prepare another croissant (after I paid for it) but I declined. I asked her if they had cream and she said, "We have CoffeeMate". Its artificial ingredients in no way 'represent' cream, at least for me. I wondered why a coffee shop, unlike all the others I have patronized, DIDN'T have cream, but I thought, "Why bother and hold up the increasing line of people waiting to order?" I returned to the table and thought the coffee was 'mediocre' at best. Vowing never to return and experience the confusion at the register and with those preparing the coffees, I left. Now, to be fair, right after I had left, an employee 'flagged me down' and handed me a warmed croissant. I thought the gesture was very nice and appreciated it. However, given the confusion at the register and the uncommon length of time waiting for (mere) iced coffees and croissant(s), I won't be going back. read more
