Since I don't indulge, this rating is based on viewing my colleague's exclamations and expressed satisfaction...and her purchases! Service from the bartender was thoughtful, knowledgeable, flexible, and engaging. My colleague initially wanted to taste one item based on another vendor's recommendation to visit this venue. A wise one! The bartender noted in the flight menu that the beverage in question could be added to the flight. Very nice of him, he didn't delete a flight to fit it in, either! Another colleague asked if she purchased, would the flight be free? Answer: yes! Two bottles, minimum. She loved them all, but selected three of the flights to purchase; two full bottles and one half bottle. (Business traveler/ International colleague with a travel liquor limit). Bottles were very well priced, and she'd can't wait to introduce them to colleagues in Taiwan! The decor and spacious area set a casual, respectful vibe which lends to a great venue for small groups, solo visitors, and couples on a date. There was a solo reading customer comfortably seated in a couch set up like a living room. There was a couple in another seating area and some friends at the bar. Didn't look much further in though. My colleague was very well pleased with her tastings and purchase, and I'm sure you'll receive the same great service from the bartender!

A place with unique craft homemade drinks. Lots of vegan or vegan alternative options. Unique New Mexican styles and seasonal menus. The ambiance is great. Some dark moody gothic like spaces. Glassware is also interesting. Definitely a little slow on the service but it does take time to make these drinks and one day was pretty busy. They are also quite pricey but they do have a happy hour and they are definitely delicious and quality drinks. The collab with other local companies is also great. I believe they also make an effort to be sustainable. Always important. Definitely a place I'd hang out a lot if I lived in the area.

One word describes this distillery- WOW! I came here about a month ago on a little staycation and I am still thinking about it. The decor and ambiance gave a spooky yet elevated feel. There was an obvious love and dedication to the craft as well as supporting local. Every drink was done to perfection. The bartenders were friendly and efficient. The only thing thats a bummer is that it's not in ABQ so I cant come here all the time! I saw they do events with Crows Nest oddities store so I am definitely going to make an effort to come paint some skulls while sipping on these mind blowing cocktails.

Note to self: time spent drinking great cocktails with great people never time wasted. Seriously though, I really should spend more time in Santa Fe. It's so close yet so far away. I really want to invest a little more time and energy and exploring all that little city has to offer. Like really great cocktail bars. I came with some friends after an event at Violet Crown next-door. It's kind of funny cause we went to get into our cars and then realize it was literally next-door to where we had already been. All of which is right by the train stop which in future visits would be perfect. Anyways, we came during a time in which they were doing a tropical themed Christmas pop-up bar, which was so fun. They had all kinds of fun glasses and themed cocktails. I got the choquito which I will admit was just OK, but it really was more of a problem with the name and not living up to a coquito should be. Too much lime. The other cocktails that we tried really saved the day. Specifically, the espresso cocktail which my friends ordered multiple rounds of. I really loved the decor. It's a super fun bar. Cocktails are pricey, but worth it.

This is a super cute location with great decor and evening events! My friends and I tried different drinks and shared sips. Mine was probably the worst one because it tasted extremely bitter when I expected it to be more creamy and soft. I think they brewed the tea for too long or something because I couldn't even finish it. My friends got fruity drinks and they definitely tasted better than mine. You have to order at the bar but there's no signage for that so just a heads up. The bartenders were nice and quick in making the drinks, but most of them are pre batched too. Will probably be back to give it another try since they have seasonal menus with different options and I've heard great things! Their distilled alcohol is really good so even if you pop by to grab a bottle of something, def give it a try.

Good beer selection & TASTY non-alcoholic libations (this one has hibiscus)

Great spot to grab a drink while strolling around the railyard! They have a couple creative, TASTY NON-ALCOHOLIC choices, too! I recommend the one with hibiscus. I thought, with the celebrity owner & CLASSY surroundings, it would be more expensive, but we were pleasantly surprised. ;) Big Nose Kate is a great whisky & they have other locally made spirits, too! You can see the GORGEOUS, copper boilers in the back room, behind the bar. Staff is always friendly & helpful with the menu to guide you to your perfect drink. They WILL make personalized adjustments when needed.

I had the gift You Wanna Be My Mango. My husband had the Blue Suede Shoes. Both were delicious! Highly recommend this gem for quality cocktails!

Visited Santa Fe this month and did a distillery tour at As Above, so Below and it was a blast! The vodka was smooth and flavorful, the gin SURPRISED me with his good it was (and I'm not a gin drinker), purchased a bottle of the bourbon and the absinthe was the cherry on top. The owner is so knowledgeable and friendly. The ambiance here is so comfy and chic. I absolutely loved it so much that I came back the next day to have another cocktail. It's in a cool Railyard area. I'd recommend this location to anyone who loves cool new drinks that's locally owned!

What an adorable distillery!! I was lured in by the cool logo and funky name, only to be blown away by the interior. Whoever was in charge of decorating... Come do my house?? Some of the coolest decor I've seen at a distillery and definitely fits with the Santa Fe vibe. I came in the early afternoon so there were very few patrons, allowing me to pick from a wide selection of fun, cozy seating arrangements. I really appreciate it when places have options for you to snuggle up with a loved one, lounge solo with a book, sit with acquaintances, post up at a table to get work done, or hang at the bar. As Above So Below checked all these boxes for me. They had just released their absinthe when I visited, so I opted for one of their absinthe cocktails. Very delicious - I wish I could have tried more as their menu had some fun stuff to choose from. I ended up leaving with a bottle because #epic. Lastly, the gal working was very kind, happy to answer any questions I had, and knowledgeable. I was extremely happy with my stumbling upon this spot and would recommend distillery lovers give it a try when visiting Santa Fe. You won't regret it!

Excellent stop for cocktails! Really enjoyed the chill vibe and high quality cocktail options. The gin cocktails were a highlight! PS They have the nicest bathrooms in Santa Fe.

Had a fun time at this distillery. The tasting flight is a must to determine what type of cocktail you will venture onto next. Spirits are smooth (vodka, gin and whiskey) as they use malted barley from Colorado for their base. Staff was super friendly and gave us a taste of their new absinthe. Space is big and has plenty of comfortable options for seating. The Persephone cocktail is a fun option. It even comes with a crystal at the bottom of your martini glass.

Definitely the best bar we visited in Santa Fe…read more When we arrived there was still seating at the bar so we promptly sat ourselves there. We ordered a charcuterie and cheese board which was much larger than expected and had plenty of local options. I started with a See You At Dusk, which was a combo of Melleti, souchu, balasmic, ginger and walnut. I found it to be a very flavorful drink that paired well with the board. I next tried a Bywater which was rum, falernum, genepy and Averna. It was a very deep and rich cocktail which I also enjoyed. The bartender was very friendly and offered us small samples of a few unusual items they stock. Overall a very fun experience.

Martin insisted the Dark Winds cocktail integrate even more beets- so many beets that the mezcal itself was stifled like a flame under shovelfuls of fecund loam and that homey odor of fresh earth itself somehow overpowering a smoke-scented spirit- when this titan of imagination demanded more beet! in his signature drink, did he bang his closed fist against the table in passion? Did tears of certainty spark his eyes as he sat under those moody lights, standing firm that yes So Long, See You Tomorrow needs not one or two but three different types of sesame- what did he feel? What did intend to bankroll? And the sickest joke of all- the Bellow's Breath- a bone broth mocktail like some crystal cup of soup. Was that beverage intended to pogo stick my friend off the proverbial wagon into the depths of glugging Long Island ice teas just to feel something familiar again? Because it did. And my heart aches for that friend but I too would lose my mind if I were to stare into such a void and see whatever it is that stares back. Was this menu the vision of a team- a baffling Frankenweenie invented by committee- or the secret wish of one troubled mind? I see it all so clearly and yet I can't help but doubt my own memory. That many beets on such an expensive cocktail menu? Who salts blueberries? This total disregard for the green chile cult that runs this city like a delicious cabal? Had no drink technician ever walked from front door to car, inhaled the piñon perfumed air outside and thought, I can do something with that. I don't know what happened and I don't think I ever will but I know I did not like it. Also the bartenders were vacant and so confused that human beings wanted to order cocktails in a cocktail bar.

And while their cocktails were good, the service was lackluster and it was loud and crowded. Granted I visited Tonic a little later in the evening, but it was low lit, quiet, not crowded, and playing jazz. The bartender was SUPER attentive, but in a positive way. He really seemed to care that we were comfortable. In fact, most of the negative reviews complain that it was low lit and quiet and only one bartender. I found these things the most attractive. They focus on craft cocktails with seasonal ingredients. I visited late in the night after other stops at Secreto and Coyote Cafe, so I was flagging a bit. I can't even remember what I ordered, but both cocktails were great. Very herbal and complex. They have herbal cocktails, savory cocktails, spicy too. I also love how some of their cocktails have little romance novels or stories to go along with them as a way to describe their flavors/mood.

A staff member asked our group size, said she needed to check with the bartender, and then a male employee came up and said he was the bartender. He told us they couldn't accommodate a party of nine and also refused to let us split into smaller groups. The way it was handled made it worse--he was condescending and hit us with, "I don't make the rules, I just enforce them," with zero effort to offer alternatives or show any basic customer service. I've never experienced a place turn away a group that's clearly ready to spend money, especially on drinks. Turning away out-of-town guests like that without even trying to work with us is a pretty bad look. Definitely not a great first impression.
