Nigiri, Spicy Cowboy and Tomo rolls

Always find a sushi bar anywhere I travel and this evening I had some fabulous sushi at Asahi. Ambiance was nice and quiet and the staff was great. Received my order very fast which caught me off guard as I expected it to take longer. Prices were in line with what I pay elsewhere. Great dinner tonight and I will be back tomorrow night to try and few different selections.

    Revolt against bad sushi

I was SO excited to find sushi in Ada. After experiencing it, I was equally disappointed. After having sushi around the world, I could chalk up my experience to being a "snob," but from start to finish, nothing could have helped this expensive experiment. I usually start with miso soup and edamame, and this was no different. I also ordered an unsweetened tea with lemon. Sadly, the edamame remains the star of this whole meal. The miso was simple cloudy water with a hint of miso... reminded me of dirty dish water. The iced tea arrived without ice. Then, in a mostly empty restaurant, they code to seat a coven of old ladies right next to me, who were so overly-perfumed, that I had to move tables to grab some oxygen before my Dragon Roll arrived. (PLEASE STOP WEARING PERFUME/COLOGNE TO RESTAURANTS!!!! You screw up the experience for everyone in your vicinity... SO RUDE!!!) The only good thing about the Dragon Roll was the way it looked. The wasabi (weak, dry, and scraped from the side of some container) and ginger (dry, crusty, and scraped from the side of some container) were horrible. The Dragon roll (which boasts a name suggesting bold and fearless flavors), tasted like a "pigeon roll." I couldn't pay my bill fast enough and had to go to the desk to do so because I never saw a server again. If this is your only sushi experience, please know there's a world of exquisite sushi elsewhere in the world... this ain't it!

Amazing food! We got the chicken teriyaki and it came out steaming. The also gave us a free appetizer. They even have them happened sodas and Minso soup!

Delicious sushi. Good quality, fresh fish. Pleasantly surprised for the only sushi place I could find in Ada. Friendly service as well.

Great place. My friend and I came here for dinner. Very friendly service also very quick.

    Mmm Asian chips and dip??

This was a good detour off the main road on the way back to OKC. I fell in love with their wontons and sweet and spicy chili sauce as an appetizer. The Rainbow Roll was delicious. The katsu was good, but the sauce tasted like A1. It would have been nice to have a glaze over the meat or something. The udon noodles were tender and soft, shrimp was bursting with flavor, but I didn't care for the sauce. It tasted bitter, like perhaps it was burned or overheated. It was still a fulfilling meal as I was starving. The service was great and I would like to try other sushi rolls or the Bento Box next time.

I'm updating my review from a few months ago. Giving it a better review because the meal I just had was very good. Not the very best sushi I have ever had but nonetheless VERY GOOD!! Fresh and chilled just how I like it. So on a scale of 1-10 my sushi (all nigiri) was about a 9 tonight. KUDOS to ADA for supporting a decent sushi restaurant. Old review: Ok first let me start by saying I've been eating sushi for literally 40 years and have had it hundreds of times and in most major cities in the USA. that being said I do find it remarkable that there is edible sushi in southern Oklahoma. On a scale of 1-10 I would give the sushi quality a 6.5-7. But I'm happy to have that in Ada!!! I've Eaten here 3 times I the past 2 weeks. Pros: Edible sushi in Ada Very nice atmosphere. Doesn't feel like ur in a small town. Staff is all Asian actually Japanese I suspect. Cons: Staff not warm and friendly (maybe a cultural thing?) Garnish (lemon, cucumber, ginger) obviously cut much earlier and stale. Sushi not the freshest or the most flavorful. Also prefer mine served colder. BUT O VERY HAPPY TO HAVE A SUSHI BAR THAT IS OVERALL VERY GOOD!!!

I'm amazed that the small town of Ada has such a delicious sushi restaurant. Great rolls and I love the fried rice.

Excellent service. Portions were much more than anticipated…read more I ordered their dinner bento with chicken katsu for takeout... I prefer to pick up my food... still don't trust third party meal delivery services... back to the food. Great packaging for takeout orders. The hot section was hot and the old section was cold. I must have been to get a big serving of miso soup packed in a reliable container. 4 stars for my takeout experience here. If you don't have time to dine in, I recommend their takeout. One day I'll trust those third party delivery services.

My family and I came in on my husband's lunch hour. We ordered two chicken hibachi meals, one bento…read morebox and one sushi roll. The microwaved hibachi came out right away with the soups and salads. We were told "we're still waiting on the sushi and bento box". Two people began eating. The bento box (3/4 of it) came next, without one side. We were told quite casually "we're still waiting on the two sushi's" once everyone was done with their meals, and our plates and cups were empty, I requested our ticket. Instead of bringing it, the waitress tried to shove the rest of our meal in front of us, to which I said no, we need to leave now. We then had to get up and walk to the cash register for the ticket. Everyone has bad days. I prefer to eat at restaurants that serve everyone's meal at the same time, where service is basically polite. The worst offense for this service was not in the fact that they served our food late, it is because not a single person in this restaurant apologized, not the waitress, not the owner or manager.

I've been meaning to try this spot for a while, but I don't visit Eufaula often (it's my hometown)…read more So today we stopped for a late lunch/early dinner, and the place was empty. It looks like they offer a buffet sometimes because there's one right as you walk in. I noticed a little advertisement on our table for a sushi roll option 3 rolls for $13.99, which seems too good to be true. Well, it was. I asked about it and the server went to the kitchen to ask, and they just said they couldn't make those specific rolls. So then I was confused because were they out of ingredients or they just didn't want me to order from the advertised menu? So he then clarified that I could just order from the menu. Ok fine, but don't have that on the table as advertisement. I got the Ironhead roll, which ended up being delicious and worth the $12.99 for 10 pieces. My husband ordered a bento box, which was unique from any I've had in other sushi restaurants. It had a great sushi roll they call avocado, but it had crab and good stuff too. Then it had lo mein with chicken & steak, an egg roll, a wonton, and some little chicken skewers. It was a great deal for $13.99. It was supposed to have soup & salad, but we had to ask because the server forgot. Also they offered ranch... The interior decor is definitely still the exact same as it was when it was a Mexican restaurant too. If you want the most hillbilly Mexican version of a sushi restaurant, this is your spot! I very much enjoyed my sushi roll. And I'd still eat here again. It was just a bit of an odd experience.
