When my 2010 Toyota Highlander with 164k miles on it died out on me, I called ASAP Mobile Auto to come out for an evaluation to determine if repair was worthwhile, or if it was time to replace the "family truckster". Alberto came out in short time and discovered metal shavings in my oil. He recommended engine replacement and found an amazing 2012 engine with only 75k miles on it in SoCal to swap into my car. I had my car towed out to his Mountain View location the night before the engine was to be delivered via freight. Once it was all in his hands, my car was done two days later! The cost was at least a couple thousand $ less than my usual mechanic and the repair is warrantied for one year. A couple weeks later, a problem arose where my anti-skid light was on solid, and my brakes were not functioning properly. we found asap mobile auto mechanic through yelp about a year ago after being scammed by countless other mechanics and shops before. as a woman, i've always been wary of being taken advantage of in terms of auto service and pricings, but have never felt that way with asap! we have called on alberto and his crew for all our car issues ever since. his response times have always been quick (give or take an hour if he was busy with another car), and what was even better was that he works even on the weekends when many other mechanics don't! a lot of our car issues were quickly diagnosed by him within minutes, and addressed immediately as he runs to the nearest auto store to grab any necessary parts if he didn't already have it in his truck. his prices have always been fair compared to other shops and mechanics, and he is also very friendly and more than willing to share his car knowledge so we know what's going on with our car! most recently, i was quoted $7k by the dealership to deal with a major engine issue where coolant was leaking into cylinder 2. alberto found a practically brand new engine replacement for me under $1k, and he and his crew took my civic down to their shop in santa cruz the friday that i called them up. they had the car ready for me before work on sunday evening, for a quote of basically half of what the dealership gave me! they updated me throughout the process, and did really great work. my civic is running smoother than it did going in, I'll be referring any friends and family to alberto and asap mobile in the future! read more

Three mechanics replaced the radiator on my 2002 Honda Odyssey in May 2025. After that, the transmission cooler line started leaking where it connects to the radiator. This part is included in the radiator installation. Because of the leak, all the transmission fluid came out, and my car could not drive at all. I sent them many messages asking them to come back and check their work. I also told them I have no other car and I cannot drive this car. But they never replied to me. I think this is very unprofessional and irresponsible. A good mechanic or team should take care of their work, especially when it affects the safety and basic use of the car. This situation left me stuck with no car and a lot of trouble. I do not recommend their service. read more

Where do I even start? Tldr These guys are clearly experts at what they do and I will be coming back to them(or I guess it's actually the other way, because they are a mobile mechanic) for all my future car repair needs. I texted them about the check engine light on my diesel ford transit and sent them the error codes (glow plug needs replacement) and within an hour Alberto and Richard found replacement parts from an Oreilly store and arrived at my door. These are folks that go straight to the point and get stuff done right away. In about 3 hours of time they were able to replace all five glow plugs and now my check engine light is gone. Before calling asap mobile mechanic I actually sent my car to a neighborhood car mechanic shop and unfortunately they just ended up letting my car sit in the lot for more than a whole day before I finally said enough and took the car back and gave asap mobile a try. I mean if you look at the sheer efficiency and quality of work that asap mobile does, these guys just blow regular mechanic shops out of the water. If I had let my car stay in the mechanic shop it would probably still be in the lot right now waiting to get worked on. And did I tell you asap mobile charged me less than half of what I was quoted at the other shop? The shop told me it was a complicated job to replace glow plugs in my van because of how hard it is to access and how many things you need to remove first, but it turns out it can get done and it can get done fast! Why would anyone go to a mechanic shop and have a 1 day job turn into a 3 day job when you can just have these guys from asap mobile come over and get it done right away? So i had a low oil pressure light come on while driving my 2014 suburban. I pulled over immediately and turned the vehicle off. Checked my oil level and it was fine and tried to drive again. Worked for about 2 miles and the same issue came up. I was close enough to home and began doing research on wjat the issue was and determined it was beyond my amateur skills. These guys are amazing! My car battery died this morning, and no amount of jumping would revive it. I had a busy day of meetings, so the convenience of having someone come and handle it all was appealing. The places I found online could only get it done tomorrow, but I really needed my car today. ASAP Mobile Auto Mechanic popped up on Yelp and I called around 11 am. Although they didn't pick up, they called me back shortly after. They gave me a quote over the phone for the battery and labor and mentioned they were in Salinas (over an hour away from me). I was okay with it because they could fix my car today. They were communicative over text with me when they were leaving Salinas and after checking out my car, they noticed and showed me something else broken in my car (well, they showed my partner as I was in meetings). They went off to buy the battery and top motor mount and I went about my day. A few hours later, they called me to come out as they were done. Honestly, I was in meetings in the room right next to where my car was being worked on and I didn't even hear them return or work on the car. Car ninjas!!! I popped out and they explained the price differential as the only battery available was a more expensive one than quoted (but it did come with a 3-year warranty). They gave me the itemized receipt for the 2 things they bought and I sent them payment. My car is alive again so I am a happy camper!!! It was $$ but that's life with any car repairs. I noticed something wrong with my coolant levels rising and lowering. My engine was heating up as well in a matter of 2 days. I knew it had to be something wrong with the hose connected to the coolant reservoir. Derik and Alberto were the first ones to respond to my Yelp call for help via messaging to many shops. They were busy and sent me a message to meet up with me ASAP. They came over and assisted the situation super fast! Long story short they used their equipment to show me that 2 damages were done and needed immediate attention. 1. Being the hose to coolant and 2. Being the thermostat They fixed both and I'm doing so Derik noticed a hose to my firewall? I believe it was called being tumor like and ruined. He said "get the part and fix it now." I'm like on it. Alberto is a good mechanic, but somewhat dishonest and irresponsible. It's quite a long story, but I'll summarize my experience. My 30-year old car's engine was damaged by a different car shop. Alberto diagnosed the problem and estimated a $1500 repair which was more than the value of the car. So instead of fixing it, he offered to take the car from me and sell me a car he had recently acquired and repaired himself. It seemed like a good deal and he did disclose SOME of the repairs this newer (2009) car needed before it was ready to be registered, but not all of them. He assured me the check engine light was only because the coolant temperature sensor needed replacing. But in fact, that was only one of many things that needed repair and replacing on the car. Both catalytic converters, the exhaust manifold, 4 different sensors, and some other electrical repairs totaling over $3000 are all needed to make this car ready to pass smog inspections. It was an out of state transfer as well, and the cost of doing so was double what Alberto told me. The suspension also needed repair for additional expenses, but he did disclose that to me up front. He told me how he had repaired the engine and transmission himself, and he seems to have done a good job on that, but it also means he had extensively been under the car and definitely knew the catalytic converters were not only going bad, but were not the original ones and not matching what's on the emissions label as is required by law. This was basically confirmed when it came to light that he had intended me to register the car using an illegal smogging solution to avoid the catalytic converter and registration problem. But didn't tell me about that until it was too late anyway. He also assured me he would be able to help me get the evidence I needed to get compensation from the original car shop that damaged my original car, but he hasn't done that. All of this was more or less confirmed and topped off by the fact that he now refuses to respond to my attempts to contact him. The only reason it's not a one star review is that I got the newer used car from him very cheap and his mechanic work is generally good. Alberto is a very nice guy and very knowledgeable, but the dishonesty and irresponsibility of ghosting me is absolutely infuriating. read more
