Well, that was an experience. While the front office and crew were professional and personable in their demeanor, and worked steadily, they were not adept at moving difficult objects. They had a hard time taking down a piece that was taken upstairs, marking up my walls and damaging the piece in the process. Another piece was damaged but that was likely due to old glue, not anything they did incorrectly. I also noticed that they tended to make more work for themselves, which isn't a huge negative but if they are taking additional time, then it is. But I did not get that sense. Perhaps they are more skilled than I know and that my house did not require the panoply of skills they might have but it was hard to tell. Another frustration was how they listened to instruction. Admittedly, I talk fast, think fast and expect people to keep up but that didn't happen. I could have made myself more explicit up front so I didn't have to manage the process, and perhaps I should have. Now I have many boxes in the wrong rooms. Or perhaps it would not have made a difference if I was more explicit. I packed myself and marked boxes with breakable objects in boxes with 8x11 white labels showing them as "fragile". It didn't matter and many boxes came back crushed. When I looked into the back of the truck, boxes and totes were stacked 5-7 deep and the ones on the bottom were crushing. Finally, they left a few of my things wrapped up and I needed to unwrap those and clean up after them. It's a damn good thing I know something about movers; In packing and instructions, I always assume the worst handling and pack accordingly. So with luck, I don't find more damage. Pros: Reasonable rates; very professional front office; personable crews that worked hard; none of the "movers games" that you hear so much about; finished in only 75% of the original estimated time. Cons: Charges a fee to take credit cards, movers aren't as skilled as others I've see; damage to furniture that made many prior moves, and stacking boxes/bins with abandon. In sum, I would use them again if I had less to move (and less to pack), and did not have all of the weight that they moved. And if I could move sensitive items separately. read more

I cannot express how relieved I am about this company. We had to move my mother's furnishings into a storage unit as she was moving to Nework and needed her expensive and big things to be stored first. A lot of the items that she needed stored were antique items like a huge china set and cabinet and an antiquated vanity. Garrett talked with my mom and I and we were both very pleased with how he handled everything. He took extra care with all the older items and my mom said he was extra careful with her great-grandmother's breakables as if he recognized their monetary and sentimental value. My mother was further pleased with how they stored everything - grouped up so it was all easy to find. She did have some questions, but Garrett had no problems recollecting and answering her questions. I've used ASC 3 times. Each time, they were professional, respectful and very careful with my items. The first time, I moved from KoP to Wilmington, and they were prompt and didn't mess around as to go over the 2.5 hour minimum. Second time, I put a lot of my items into their storage facility, and everything came back as if it were in a home or finished basement, etc. - no smell, and everything was coded to keep it together. Although they were late the third time (it was literally a monsoon outside, and they came from another large job), the process was just as seemless as the others. Andre (owner) was actually one of the gentlemen on my last move - he was so accommodating, and put some extra TLC into the packing and wrapping of my items. No freebies or anything - but as a repeat customer, I saw the pride he has for his company and this was definitely apparent while he simultaneously wrapped my furniture and answered phone calls on his headset! Poor customer service. They don't return remails or phone calls. Minimum 3 hours which includes 30 minutes of travel time even if they are down the street is outrageous. Quoted me almost $700 to move three rooms of furniture from a small house into a garage and they were .8 miles away. On 19 February 2018 I entered into a contract with ASC Moving to move the belongings in my home from Newark, DE to Wilmington, DE, a total of approximately 12 Miles. The contract called for ASC Moving to pack said belongings on Tuesday, 2/27/18 and move them on Wednesday, 2/28/18. I was quoted an estimate and I paid a deposit. Even though I paid for packing, I found that many things had still not been packed. The ASC staff completed their "shift" at 4:00pm and left, even though the job was not completed. I had to pack many things myself. Because of the amount of content to be moved, the move would take place using two trucks, and four men. ASC Charges per hour per man, plus a truck fee. Because they don't have big 53' trucks, they would send 2 trucks, but I'd only pay for 1. Move day (2/28/18): 3 movers arrived at the Newark home with one small truck. They said the driver of the larger truck had an accident and was hospitalized. I'm sorry that happened, but don't they have a backup? They also said that, because they have only the small truck, the move would be completed in two trips. WTF? I immediately phoned the ASC office and, after conversation expressing my frustration, received affirmation from Andres Santa, the owner, that the "clock would stop" once the truck was unloaded at the Wilmington home the first time. This really should have been the point at which I canceled the move with ASC and rescheduled with a different company, in spite of the expenses that I would have to incur. Surprisingly, they damaged only one piece of furniture (a bookshelf). The shelf was so badly damaged it made no sense to have it moved. Some of the "kitchen" boxes did not have appropriate padding and it was amazing that some of the glass items (mason jars, in particular) did not break. The first load took 8 hours and 15 minutes from start to finish During the round two packing, one of the crew members asked if the clothes in the closet were going (yes, he really did ask me that question), he told me that they had no garment boxes and wanted to know if I had some garbage bags through which they could stick the hangers and move the clothes that way. I supplied the garbage bags. I wondered why they didn't have (or use) a dolly or why they didn't have a ramp to move heavier items up the steps - all the things I have seen happen in the many, many moves I have experienced before (but all with national moving companies). Then they realized they would still need a third trip, and that would happen on 3/1/18. I had no choice; items couldn't fit on the truck. Highlights of the move include: - the dining room table top was moved, but the base wasn't moved at the same time. - They didn't bring my clothes, shoes, etc in the 1st or 2nd round, so I had no clean clothes until next day - All the paintings and mirrors and those types of fragile items were not properly wrapped. I had to be explicit about how to care for these items. - Some bookcases were moved to the new home but the shelves for the cases were not moved in the same run, so made unpacking difficult. - They left trash (plastic bags from clothes and also from mattress cover in the new home; I guess I have to trash them - When I emailed the owner about the damage to my property, he said it could be fixed with some wood glue - Owner, Andres Santa, offered no compensation for my having to pay another month's rent at my old place because they had to complete the move on 3/1, when I needed to be out of the old house on 2/28. I know this is a long message. And it only begins to capture the unprofessionalism and what I would also characterize as incompetence of this moving company, ASC Moving. This company was referred to me by a trusted colleague. I can say with certainty that no-one will get a referral to ASC from me. read more

Unlike other movers ASC team has the passion to perform their job, they handle everything very professionally and patiently. I cannot say enough good things about ASC. I had booked another mover who never showed up even after confirming my move. I had to get someone last minute and called ASC at 11:40 on a Saturday. They said they could have someone there between noon and 2:00 pm. Their quote was very reasonable, too. I got a call about 20 minutes later asking if they could come between 3 and 3:30 so the men could get lunch between jobs. Of course, I had no problem with that. They showed at 3:40 and hade my apartment packed by 5:30. My new home was an hour away and they asked only for the time to gas up their truck. They were extremely careful with my things and very friendly. I would recommend ASC to anyone needing a reliable, reasonable, friendly mover! Horrifying moving experience. I want to post my review because it seems like this moving company has received decent reviews and I wouldn't want anyone to go through the same experience I did based on old reviews. Owner quoted my move without even coming to my home prior to my move to see contents therefore did not have enough trucks for moving day. Gave him a rough estimate & requested an additional truck. Movers damaged almost every single piece of furniture they touched. At several points I contacted the owner Andre to make him aware they were breaking items of ours within 30 minutes of packing it on their truck. Then one of the movers actually kicked my broken ceramic vase in the grass and told another mover not to say anything to hide the fact they were breaking our items!!! Andre was made aware. Realtors, among many others witnessed them damaging our furniture on moving day. Those same witnesses also voiced concern over smelling marijuana coming from their moving truck. After the move once damages were all accessed we tried to come to a settlement for damages with the owner. He would not refund any of our money however promised to send out his furniture repair guy to atleast try to repair broken items. His furniture repair guy said this was the worst in damages he's ever seen in his 30 years of business. Once this estimate was provided to Andre he went back on his word and wouldn't pay for the furniture repairs. We were left with all the damages after the move. Disgraceful business practice. Lastly, wanted to mention his movers will move as slow as humanly possible to run the clock on your tab. Several people inquired on moving day asking why they were moving so slow and at some points not doing anything at all. My recent experience with ASC was drastically different from the previous reviews of the movers. I have had much better experience with other movers whom I had hired over the last 10+ years. There were two movers who came out. They were friendly and all, but the pace at which they moved our stuff was unacceptably slow. Although we primarly had small and medium size boxes, they would move only 2-3 boxes per trip. Because we lived on the second floor with an elevator, they took their time with each trip. It took over 8 hours to move a 2-bedroom apartment. It was no surprise that the price I was initially quoted was way off. The final bill came out to twice the amount of the initial quote. Additionally, they did not wrap any of our furnitures, and most of our furnitures ended up with either scratches or small dents/tears. One thing they did do right was to put our flat-panel TV in a box, but that was about it. In all honesty, I was not happy with their work or their fees at all. This was the first time over the last 10+ years that I've hired movers that I had such a negative experience like this. read more

This is the worst move I've ever had. I was originally scheduled for 5pm on Saturday 4/19. I got a call at 3:30pm saying they would be heading over my way around 4:30 and they were 45 minutes away. At 5:30 I got another call saying they were about to head over my way and were 45 minutes away. At 6:00 I got another call saying they were about to head over my way and were 45 minutes away. They showed up at 7:15. The loading was fairly quick, but once everything was loaded they could not get their truck to start for 20 minutes. Apparently a cable was loose and got disconnected from the battery. I told them since they showed up so late, we would need to be quiet and respectful of my new neighbors since I was not allowed to be moving in that late at night. They were the complete opposite. The one guy was pretty decent, but the other one was very obnoxious. He was yelling very loudly and running up the steps and just throwing boxes down. The other guy kept telling him to be quiet but he wasn't. This obnoxious guy was throwing the boxes down no matter what they said, including boxes labelled "Glasses-Fragile" I was absolutely disgusted at how much of my stuff was broken when I began unpacking. When I began unpacking I realized some stuff was missing. I called and left a message Sunday and Tuesday they called me back and told me they missed it and it was still on their truck. I was told they could drop it off for me the following Saturday afternoon, but I was not given a time. I made no plans Saturday and sat around all afternoon waiting for them to show up. The owner emailed me at 4:45 and told me the mover would be dropping it off that evening and would give me a call in an hour. At 6:15 I got a call from the mover saying he had his kid and could not drop it off. I ended up so sick of dealing with these people that I just told them to throw my stuff away. Also, when I complained about how unprofessional they were and how much stuff was broken, I was offered 40% off of my next move... as if I would ever want to deal with them again. These are the most inconsiderate, unprofessional people I have ever dealt with. They do not care about other peoples' time or stuff at all. You will do lots of waiting around for them. ASC Moving helped me move out of state this past weekend. They did a terrific job. They showed up on time and were meticulous in everything they did. The truck they brought had more than enough room for all my belongings and they wrapped everything so as not to damage any of my furniture. They even had a box for my flatscreen. The price I was quoted was truly all that I owed at the end of the move...no hidden extras or fees. Andres, Corey and Francis were all fantastic, respectful, and professional. I recently used ASC when I moved from North to South Philly. Ty, Kenny, and Sean were the ones to come out, and they did an excellent job. I have an extensive collection of crystal glassware, and Kenny carefully wrapped each glass. They had boxes for everything, and they packed all my belongings carefully, unlike movers I've used in the past. They were even able to get my large sectional up the stairs and into my new apartment- it took some creativity, but they got it in the door! I was very impressed. My favorite part, however, was that I called on a Thursday, and hired them for Sunday. Other moving places I contacted told me they couldn't do the move on such short notice. The movers were wonderful, friendly, fast, helpful. The front office and folks who handle the contract and pricing leave a lot to be desired. If you choose to use this company, just be sure to have the details of how many boxes and their size. The way they figure small, medium and large is not intuitive. Also, payment at the site if you choose to pay by check must be in the form of a cashier's check, which they do not specify when you speak with them by phone about sending the deposit (they accept personal check for that so I assumed personal check was OK at delivery). The contract did indicate cashiers check at delivery location but they sent the final contract 2 days before the move and while in the midst of moving, I did not see that line as I focused more on the items being listed correctly and the cost; so my fault technically but we spoke at least 4-5 times before the move so I really think they could have mentioned this. read more
