I must start off by saying I LOVED my L&D nurse Audrey!! I was admitted to have my son and was told to be at the ER at 7, we got there at 6:45 and we were the only ones there. The labor and delivery staff were short handed and we didn't get taken upstairs to a room until well after 8:00, and the nurse we had was called in due to the the unit being short staffed. She was nice, but left because she had been called in, then here comes Audrey and she was amazing!!!!! Knowing I already had children she still stayed there with me through the contractions and made suggestions as to help with the pain, encouraged me, handled my family like I needed them handled but most importantly sat with my daughters and explained to them everything that was going on during labor, while my husband was at my bedside. It was so great she made this experience the best I've had. The food was good, nice to have a place that serves the spouse/ significant other as well. The rest of the staff was good, checked on us frequently, offered assistance and were easily accessible. read more

Last week I went into the ER with a severe pain in my left shoulder. It was about 12:30AM, and there were no other people in the waiting room. The check-in guy was very nice, and it was done very quickly. No sooner had I checked in when a nurse, John, called and took me back to a room in the ER area. After he checked my blood pressure, etc., another nurse, Mallorie, saw me and said she'd be my nurse for the entire visit. She was as nice as could be, funny and was very professional in her work. The attending doctor was Dr. Le Boeuf. She examined me thoroughly and looked at the xrays they took and explained that it was probably a torn or pulled deltoid as there was no bone anomaly showing on the x-ray. She was very nice. They all took very good care of me and explained everything that was going on. I have to give another shout-out to the fast yet gentle x-ray technician. I don't recall his name, Brad?, but we discussed motorcycles. This visit was very quick as i was in and out in about an hour-and-a-half. This hospital has wonderful doctors and nurses, but we did not have a good experience with our nurses for the first 2 days after my wife's delivery. The nurses kept ignoring us even tough we asked their help many times, finally they started to listen to our complaints and sent us better nurses, but I and my wife really got exhausted and upset. We really had a frustrating time. Sorry to the few good apples, but the bad ones are bad and overshadow the good. read more

After a nightmare trip to Seton Medical Center ER... We came to Seton NW the next day. The staff was very helpful and sympathetic. We did not wait long in the waiting room... I would say we waited for about 10 min. They quickly got my boyfriend into a bed, and started an IV... His test results came back within about 30 min. and it was the flu. We were only there for about 2 hours and he felt MUCH better. They kept an eye on him quite a bit and made sure he was okay. I would not go anywhere else. read more

I give this review on one of the ER nurses, he was the best greatest er nurse that I have ever encountered, he was patient, very concern, and right on point. Justin was his name. If I must go to the ER I want Justin as my primary nurse. Justin you are the greatest. read more

I went to this hospital for severe lower back pain. I could barely walk and the front desk person told me if I wanted I could get a wheel chair which was another 20 steps i did not want to take. I waited almost an hour to be put in a crumby little room with no privacy. The male nurse was supposed to fax over prescription in house and another 40 minutes passed and he then told me that it did not go through. I then waited another 40 minutes again for the medicine which two injections in the same shoulder, which the nurse proceeded to rub on the area. It caused me enough pain to scream out loud. He did not place a gauze or band-aid on the injection sites which bled through my white shirt and I considered this unsanitary and a lack of effort on the medical staff. It is now 10 days later and i have swelling in my shoulder and pain radiating in my arm. I called and complained but received no response from any one in this matter. I will be personally returning only to complain about the poor service and terrible experience. If could rate lower than one or negative i would. read more

The best hospital experience I've ever had. From arrival at emergency room through ERCP and gallbladder surgery, was treated with respect and made to feel at ease. Staff, from doctors and nurses to clinicians, all were very patient oriented and professional. Made what could have been a nightmare a very positive experience. read more

If you value your life and the life of your loved ones do not go to any Seaton hospital. I tried to post all the medical mistakes and problems from Seaton but limited space wont allow it. My partner has stage 4 cancer and stage 4 COPD. The Doctor's at Seaton have the God complex and do not care to listen and treat the patient as an individual. To many mistakes from the DR's and nurses. Given medications he was allergic to without following hospital protocol of checking records asking about allergies or even checking the red allergy band. Had to be intubated from being given meds he was deathly allergic to. Records "lost", cover ups. Complaints run in house and not through out side parties not connected to seaton. Wrong diagnosis, pain issues not addressed. He had heart attack while monitor alarms, call button and screams for help at their heart hospital were ignored! Blood pressure documented, but Er doctor refused to listen to complaints of heart attack and ordered a contrast CT of heart, later proved from enzyme test proved it was in fact a heart attack and nit a PE. Why bother to ask a persons pain level with no intension to provide relief? I have been through many health related issues with him from where we used to live up until Austin. I/we have never seen such issues at other hospitals until Seaton. The cover up investigations, even with statements from nurses and reparatory therapists from the ER doctor not responding to code calls, you will get the same scripted response " the doctor was not in violation of hospital policy" . This hospital need serious investigations from parties not affiliated with them. At 54 years of age i have never felt the disgust of the poor treatment and lack of "care" this hospital claims are top priority. read more

My daughter who was diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial hypertension by Seton years ago went to Seton NW ER for pain in her face and head and she was also having tremors. She assumed she was having an issue with the IIH which is why she went. She had been without insurance for a few months because she had just started a new job and that insurance would not kick in until July, so when she said no insurance, she was then treated like a second class citizen. Everyone's demeanor changed and she was now not worth time or effort, basically a piece of crap. The triage nurse calls her back and that is when it all got started. The nurse discredit every feeling she was having she was dry and very rude to her, but the part that really got me was when the nurse told her to control her hand and to stop shaking it she needed to get a reading. She had no control of her hands because she was in fact having some tremors. They asked her why had it been so long since she was seen by her Neuro and she explained she was a single mom with no insurance and that she really couldn't afford to pay out of pocket for visits like that and had been off her meds for quite some time because her meds were so expensive. She is walked to the back to a room where she was seen promptly by Doctor. I thought he was ok until he too discredited and ignored everything she was saying. He didn't ask about her past issues anything. He said, he could give her some pain meds and discharge her (we didn't go in for meds) or she could have a MRI but he really didn't want to do it because it was expensive and without insurance it would not be recommended, but if she wanted it she could have it done, I then spoke up and said, do it, we need to make sure there is nothing else going on, he said," I was hoping for an easy case, but ok". He kept trying to convenience her that he could give her pain meds but she did not go for meds, she wanted someone to tell her what was going on. When he stepped out my daughter asked me why he was doing a MRI, I didn't know, it didn't make sense to me to do a MRI unless he was trying to rule out something else, but he never explained that. We thought he would have done a spinal tap which is what they've done in the past which actually helps but they ignored the fact that she had been in the hospital for IIH before. The guy comes from radiology and he tells her to remove her piercings and her wig, well, she was not wearing a wig, it was her hair, I guess because she was African American with blue hair it had to be a wig, but it was not it was her hair, that was just "Rude" my daughter was already in pain and was crying and that comment just took the case, she wanted to leave at that point. Finally the nurse comes in right before she left for the MRI to give her pain meds, that nurse had great bedside manners unlike the rest of the bunch. When she comes back from her MRI the nurse comes in and ask her how she was doing and if the meds worked, my daughter told her she was still in pain and that her pain level was the same. That led me to think, the spinal tap would have been best solution to the issue. Well to get to the end, the doctor tells her that he found nothing on the MRI and that she was fine and that he would give her meds for her headache and he discharged her. I said, "So this is what Human care is" I was sad because I am an employee at Seton and I am ashamed and embarrassed at how the poor and vulnerable are treated. My daughter was later taken to St David's and they kept her. read more

In November of 2009 i became very ill and was rushed to Seton Northwest with severe stomach pains and dizziness. After a few hours in the ER and a dose of Morphine i was told even with high white blood cell counts that there was nothing wrong with me and was sent home. Over the course of the next 3 weeks i was back in the ER 6 more times and finally hospitalized. Still nothing was found and i was discharged. I ended up that same night i was discharged back in the ER and hospitalized again. Surgery was performed and they removed my gallbladder even though the test showed it functioning correctly. After i recovered at home for a month i was still having my dizziness and severe pains. I tried to contact Seton and they just brushed me off and said there was nothing they could do for me and to stop coming in. I ended up having to go to Houston medical center and they found a polyp in my small intestine. So here is the deal on Seton Northwest. They are a bunch of idiots. They do nothing but guess and cannot diagnose. They removed an organ that did not need to come out and were very rude to me. Now they want me to pay my bill? They will never get a dime out of me and i am in the process of suing them for what they put me through. Do not go here. Go downtown or go to Houston. Yeah they turned me over to a collection agency but i have all the patience in the world and you will still not get anything out of me. Ill see you in court you pieces of crap! read more
