We had a terrifying…read moreexperience yesterday evening when we had to bring in our two-year-old Great Pyrenees mix for a major laceration. From the second we arrived, Dr. Pearson and the entire care team--Megan, Ethan, and Nicole (the CEC)--were absolutely incredible. They provided top-tier medical care for our girl, but what I appreciated most was how they handled my wife and me. We were in a total state of panic, and they stayed calm, kept us informed, and treated us with so much empathy. It's rare to find a team that can balance high-level emergency medicine with such genuine bedside manner. Dr. Pearson is a total pro, and the nursing staff made us feel like our pup was their only priority. If you're in the Austin area and find yourself in a pet emergency, this is the only place I'd trust.

The staff worked patiently with me to avoid sedation with my cattle dog (if you know, you know). They were able to complete the necessary diagnostics and confirm that she did have an obstruction. Since we were there until around 8am, the team even set up a room with a futon so I could get some rest while staying with her, which meant a lot during such a stressful night. VEG first contacted my regular vet, who unfortunately wouldn't take her that morning, but they went above and beyond by proactively reaching out to another fantastic local vet who could perform the surgery (this was done to help reduce my costs, they were willing to perform the surgery). That support was incredibly appreciated and honestly something I would have struggled to coordinate on my own in the moment. Nova's surgery went well, and I brought her right back to VEG afterward for post-op care. I brought my laptop and they set me up a room so I could work from there, which greatly reduced the stress on her (and eased my mind). I truly believe this team played a huge role in her speedy recovery, as she' having healthy bowel movements just 3 days post-op and showing minimal discomfort. I am incredibly grateful for the care we received throughout the entire process. Without their diagnosis & quick actions, Nova may very well not be here today

My father was admitted over a holiday, which made things even more challenging, but everyone was at least willing to listen--something I can't always say has been my experience elsewhere. I want to highlight a couple of exceptional team members: a nurse named Sabreen and a PT/wound care nurse named Melissa. Both are five-star professionals who deserve raises for their outstanding care. Although this hospital is not located near us, I am grateful we made the drive here, per our doctor's recommendation. Parking is convenient, and there are plenty of nearby dining options. The hospital is undergoing renovations, so noise can be an issue at times, but I understand that such work has to be done eventually.

Their billing person confirmed this. Their website has a lot of info about the billing process as well. -They are flexible and will work with you to negotiate your dues to get the accounts closed out. I was stressing about the bills but their super nice billing lady helped us out. -Open 24/7. I looked at other options that were technically deemed in-network for my insurance plan and some were closed on Sunday. One of our visits was on Easter too. Why even bother with another ER when this place will bill in-network anyway? -Amazing nurses and doctors. Everyone is really nice and patient and takes great care of you. We've been there 3 times since November. Twice for my little guy (he was 1 during our first visit). Nurses and doctors were so nice and patient with him (and he definitely screamed a lot). -It's never crowded or full of sickly people. Not sure if that's a sign they don't have enough business though? PLEASE GO HERE SO THEY DON'T EVER SHUT DOWN. -Easy parking. -There's a cemetery next door which leaves a chance to make a morbid joke upon your departure.

First Visit: I had been dealing with a respiratory tract infection for almost 30 days and had already been treated by another community care center. Since I had a trip planned, I wanted to confirm whether I was still contagious. After completing my paperwork, I was called in quickly. The doctor reviewed my symptoms--fever that came and went, a bad cough, and throat discomfort. She checked my vitals, body temperature, and BP, which were all normal at that moment. Since I had already completed a round of antibiotics, she advised me to let my body fight the infection, reassuring me that I was no longer contagious. That was a relief, and I left Ally without being charged. Second Visit: After returning from my trip to California, I came back to Ally with a 103°F fever, severe body aches, extreme fatigue, and a baddd cough. This time, they ran every available test for infections and viruses, which confirmed that I had Influenza A, Influenza B, and COVID-19 and Respiratory Tract Infection. Unfortunately, since I had been sick for over a week, the doctor explained that antiviral medication wouldn't be effective. But they saw how severe my cough was, they prescribed an inhaler and cough medication to help manage my symptoms. I was charged $220 but that was in my best interest there are several other options which you can decide accordingly. What I appreciate most about Ally is that they are upfront about costs. Unlike other ERs that seem to prioritize billing over patient care, they inform you of pricing in advance, giving you the option to accept or decline services based on what's in your best interest. I honestly trust them more than my own physician at this point. I once took a friend to another ER where she tested positive for the flu. All they did was checked her vitals and BP before prescribing medication. Later she received a bill for $1,000. I was very ill at the time, so I do not have any pictures of Ally. However, I've attached a screenshot as proof of my visit.

No matter how many times I had health insurance changes, I always made sure I would be able to see Dr. Kravitz. I've had other doctors in other cities, but no one came close to Dr. Kravitz's knowledge (26+ years of practice), professional demeanor, and personability. He is knowledgeable on so many topics, and I know I'm able to ask him anything. And you know what? He listens. It's that simple. He sets your chart down, he looks at you, and he listens. Some doctors are just so harried they don't take the time to really let you explain what's happening or how you feel. It really does make the difference. We forget how important it is for a doctor to relate to his patients. I've seen doctors who have been cold, indifferent, uninterested in anything except performing an examination or treating whatever was wrong at the time. Sure, that's fine, but it's the bare minimum; it doesn't set me at ease. When I'm sick, and I'm concerned, Dr. Kravitz demonstrates a level of empathy I've yet to see in another doctor. It also helps he has a sense of humor! Even if he does not accept my insurance, I would only want to have him as my primary care physician. He's known me for years, and knows my medical history better than anyone. I hope to stick with him as long as I can. If you are looking for a new doctor in the area, you will NOT be disappointed. Dr. Kravitz is the real deal, and one of the few people I still trust in the healthcare field. A real winner!
