Nothing but great things to say about this place. We are new to the area, had family visiting and unfortunately one of our loved ones took a spill at the baseball fields. Hospital was easy to get to, clean, friendly, efficient, nice. We came around 930 am and was out in less than an hour. They cleaned all the wounds, bandaged it back up with home instructions, did xrays because the knee was swollen last night after the fall. Glad we came here first and they take Medicare, insurance etc. Great work team! read more

I have been trying to get information about a charge for $43.50 (Laboratory) . I took my husband to ER in Seton Southwest; he did not want to be treated without an idea of how much the visit would cost. After 20 minutes fighting to have a estimation, someone said the amount of $$ and he decided to leave without being treated. I have been trying to get information about this charge, but they don't keep record of me being authorized so they can talk to me; I work 8 to 5 ; I don't have him with me to authorize each time I call asking them to explain the charge for a "ghost service". Just be careful driving by 1826. You might get a bill! Thankful for the person who gave us a figure. read more

Nothing is more important to me than being seen quickly when someone I love is suffering. Recently it was my turn to be in the health crisis. When the ambulance asked where I wanted to go, i knew from previous experience that Ascension Seton was the only place I wanted to go. Fortunately the emergency was an IV and antibiotics so a quick turnaround but I felt well taken care of and was confident in the diagnosis due to the thorough testing and information. read more

I recently had a total knee replacement at Seton SW, and everyone I encountered from the front desk person at check-in to the nurses, doctors, anesthetists, physical therapists, etc. were all so kind, patient and caring. I appreciate them all and the top notch care they provided. read more

These useless nurses and doctors let my mother, who was profusely bleeding from her lower half walk out with no help at all!! She was in pain bleeding all over the floor and instead of taking her seriously or helping her they told her to just take Tylenol. When she said she felt like she was about to faint due to blood loss instead of continuing to treat her they simply offered to wheel her out. She called out for help but all the nurses were chit chatting about lunch instead of tending to a woman that was actively bleeding all over the floor about to faint. It's a bit hit or miss here. They are often very busy which isn't their fault but wait times can be long and they may be unable to treat children after a long wait time so we often opt for the children's hospital to ensure we can be treated. The small ER area leaves you open to disclosures of your private medical information as the rooms circle around the reception/medical desk and they are often loudly conversing about this patient or that. They usually have great doctors and nurses with exception of one extremely rude nurse we encountered a year or more ago but haven't forgotten. Leaving the review as I do hope they will be more conscious of the private medical information that others can readily hear. As well, if you're in the area and over the age of 18 I think they can be helpful for many emergencies. read more

It was INCREDIBLY hard finding those location. Not the hospital's fault, there's a lot of construction and its so recent GPS wasn't updated yo reflect detours. Even after leaving my house an hour before i was told to be there (appt was at 12:30pm but i was told to arrive 30 minutes early) i still arrived about 10 minutes after i was told to arrive. When i got there i realized it wasnt an imaging center but a full hospital. I had no clue where to go because wasn't given any instruction when i scheduled. But i was relieved to find out i was correct in going to reception as i was to check in there and a tech would come get me. I was also told i didn't have to worry bc even though i was told i needed to be there 30 minutes early, i in fact did not so even though i thought i was 10 minutes late it was perfectly fine. And in fact they would try to get me on early...WHICH THEY DID! A few minutes after filling out 2 simple forms i was taken to the back. The tech was friendly and explained everything very well. I dare say i enjoyed my experience here! I was leaving the hospital a mere 10 minutes after my 12:30pm appointment. They are truly on top of things here which is a relief because this is peoples health and life bring dealt with here. They seem to understand that and take it VERY seriously. Then on the way home, turns out i could have avoided all the construction by going straight up slaughter...stupid navigation :/ read more

This hospital is garbage. The doctors are garbage and the alleged "nurses" are not patient advocates. If you go to this place seeking medical care, you need to be aware that you will likely not receive care, and the so-called "professionals" that work there as the gatekeepers to healthcare will happily let you die out of sheer apathy. You might find a nun out front in the lobby, but be aware the devil is extant within their healthcare staff. There is something seriously and fundamentally wrong with this hospital. You will not find God operating within that building. You will find quite the opposite. Be warned. There is something off there, and it is not right. Never, ever set foot on that property. read more

Expensive uselessness is how I would characterize it. Took my daugter there on a Saturday for Emergeny Care as she had not been able to keep any food down for a few days and was growing weaker and listless. To their credit, the emergency care crew took blood samples but found nothing unusual in them -- I give them 1 star for that. But to their discredit, they offered no treatment for the nausea that kept her vomiting all food and drink intakes -- telling us to go see a primary care physician. That was nearly fatal -- so no stars for treatment, making the trip there expensive but useless. Wound up taking my daughter to St David Hospital the next morning, where they repeated the blood tests, and actually started treating her -- first with an IV treatmnt to rehydrate her, and a prescription for nausea so she could keep her food and drink down and replenish her bodies energy. read more

I wish this had a hundred stars because the staff at Ascension Seton Southwest hospital are such a deserving group of medical professional. My wife spent 2 days with some of the most sincere and devoted Drs and Nursing staff. Maggie, Liza, Jacob, Danny, Jackie, Belinda are the incredible staff persons that took care of my wife and were very committed and accommodating to making my wife and I feel at home. As for Dr Mark Lindsay, MD,Surgeon and Dr Matthew Middaugh MD, Internal Medicine, We are lost for words, beyond amazing, to describe their great and loving professionalism explaining, in detail, the situation and reasoning on how they will approach my wife's condition. we highly happy and satisfied with them and recommend to everyone. It's one of the worst ERs ever! Went in for chest pain, and the doctor and the nurse completely ignored me after the first 5 minutes of being there. Dr. Shih shouldn't even be a licensed practicing doctor in any state. Bed side mannor was horrid, and so after I was discharged, I proceeded to call the charge nurse Barbra and discuss my stay. She basically shrugged me off and said well you have the right to your own opinion. Perfect example of how much of an unprofessional staff she runs by 0 leading by example. Dont ever go there, and for your own good, go somewhere else, like St David's where they treat you like human beings. read more

Great experience! Took my mom here on 10/3/2023 due to chest pain. Nurse Naomi and Dr. Spital were great! Was a little worried she would be treated differently due to my mom not speaking english but they were very patient and kind and even offered to have someone to translate although I told them I was comfortable helping my mom. I was not feeling well so decided to check into the ER at Seton Southwest Hospital. This hospital is basically around the corner from my home. It is a small hospital with few beds but the service you get here is excellent, and with lots of nurses attentive to your delicate needs. The ER doctor checked me out and scheduled tests to figure out what was wrong. Once he knew what was wrong I was moved to a regular room. Once in my room the nurses made me feel comfortable. I had my own private room and my wife slept in a Murphy bed. My nighttime schedule was adjusted so I could sleep a little longer at night. The nurses were very nice, relaxed and friendly and enjoyed talking to their patients. Other hospitals I have been to the nurses are stressed out, busy, and do not come by often. I really liked this hospital besides having to be here. For guests there is a very nice food court with lots of machines dispensing drinks, coffee, and food. The hospital chef came by and ordered a special plate for myself and a guest plate for my wife. The food was spectacular and assume because Austin in a foodie city. Surgery went well and before it the doctors were very nice and making me feel calm. Afterwards my recovery was hard but the nurses kept keeping me positive where I would get better. And soon I was able to check out and go home. So overall Seton performed an excellent job and if I ever need to return then this hospital will be first on the list or another Seton hospital. read more

Absolutely disgusted in the charges for doing very little. My husband had a accident which involved Losing a part of his finger. We rotted in an emergency room over a shift change for 4 hours while they figured out what to do. Gave a tetanus shot and wrapped his finger and referred us to a specialist then charged $3000! $745 for a tetanus shot!! Disgusting practices just robbing people blind! Stay away! read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! When I showed up for my CT scan I paid the receptionist before the test. They gave me a receipt and I have my bank records showing my payment. They have billed me for the $75. Every month thereafter. I called their bookkeeping department to straighten out their records. They had me FAX the proof of payment. I did. Then they sent me another bill saying they hadn't received payment. I called them again. That time I actually mailed them a copy of the receipt. Now they have turned me over to a Medical Financial Solutions agency. It is beyond my belief that a bIlling department of a hospital can be this inept. read more

I've never reviewed a hospital before, but this day has me so frustrated and angry. Husband had an outpatient surgery for gallbladder removal today. Everything was fine, surgery went great, surgeon was great and kept me informed. My issue is the nurse that put in our wrong pharmacy, even after my husband and I both gave her the address multiple times, even going as far as showing it on the map on my phone. After all that, she still messed it up and sent his pain meds to a pharmacy 25 mins away from our normal pharmacy. At this point, I'm like fine, I'll just drop him off at home and go grab it. Well, I get to the pharmacy and they can't even fill it due to being out of stock. Not the pharmacy's fault, hell not even the nurses really at this point. But I am so frustrated because I feel like we did everything to ensure they sent it to the correct place. The incompetence of this nurse has caused so much more headache and pain for my husband. Maybe, if they spend more time making sure everything was correct, and less time gossiping about how they got in trouble for pushing patients out before they were ready, my husband wouldn't have to wait 24hrs for his pain meds read more

Awful experience with Seton - large bill, emails unanswered, voice mails not returned.

I hate going to the ER but I was in pain and needed to be seen sooner rather than later. I went online and debating between St Davids and Seton since both were in network with my insurance. ST David had an estimate of a 18 minute wait at 5 in the morning. Seton however allowed me to schedule online my arrival. I showed up a little early but that didn't matter. I was immediately checked in and taken to a room. I was there for a little less than 2 hours. This is quite rare I believe compared to all my other ER visits. The doctor was friendly, explained things when I asked questions and concerned. I would definitely consider coming here again. I will have to see however how insurance gets billed since that can reflect a lot on a hospital. read more

I have a favor to return to the urgent care of this hospital. A favor to return for checking me in for a wasp sting, not really taking care of me, giving me a Benadryl, checking me out but then coding me as a heart attack and stiffing my insurance for thousands of dollars. I mean six thousand dollars which meant I also had to pay 500 dollars out of pocket. This was fraud. I reported it to the insurance company but the insurance company didn't want to fight it and just paid it. Subsequent visits for family members were similAr experiences with continued poor quality of care, just this overall messiness, unorganized pandemonium and this sense that no one there knew what they were doing. Hardly the type of experience one needs from an urgent care facility. These experiences took place over the course of last decade we lived in the area. We haven't gone back recently and not planning on it. I do not recommend this location unless you are dying and happen to be outside their front gate. Go elsewhere. Anywhere. Not here. read more

Last Christmas Eve, my 2 year old ended up with nursemaid elbow. As a parent of 4, I've seen this before--on a cruise ship, after doctors' hours, in international waters, with no insurance coverage. The cost was $272.97, with x-rays and a consultation with an off-ship American radiologist. I have heard of local urgent care visits for this costing $100 with no insurance. I knew ERs were expensive. I also had a high-deductible plan. But the online "Ascension Hospital Pricing" tool showed a "Visit ER LVL 1" as $54.69. Even the highest level visit is $404.81. With professional fees, I thought it'd be $500-$750. Hesitantly, I decided being able to enjoy Christmas was worth that expense. Not wanting to waste the evening in the waiting room, I tried making an ER "appointment." We waited for the "appointment," and then headed to the ER. Unfortunately, even with the "appointment," we didn't even make it out of the waiting room for an hour. We sat in the ER nearly another hour before the doctor arrived. The doctor confirmed the problem and fixed the elbow. He was great, and in and out in less than 5 minutes. No X-Rays. No complicated equipment. My daughter was dancing around again 5 minutes later. But then, despite my repeated requests to leave, we waited for another 2 hours to be "de-admitted," with my obviously better daughter yelling at the top of her lungs that she was ready to go. On Christmas Eve. *OF ALL THINGS, THESE 4 HOURS AT SETON ARE WHAT MY DAUGHTER REMEMBERS ABOUT CHRISTMAS* But I understood them being short-staffed, so I kept my mouth shut. We finally discovered, by the way, that being "de-admitted" meant simply that a nurse had to take my daughter's vitals and ask how she is feeling. Our bill came a month later. Our minor injury was billed to Aetna as a $6888.50 emergency, accompanied by a $1158.31 doctor bill! Of course, Aetna cut those down to $1643 and $238 respectively. But THIS IS STILL AN INSANE AMOUNT to pay for 5 minutes of doctor's time, and a nurse taking my daughter's vitals twice for procedural sake. Even worse, there was no explanation of our bill. I called Ascension. They offered to send me an itemized bill, which arrived by mail almost 2 weeks later, and was a joke--just three line items for ibuprofen, "Emergency Procedure V", and "Visit ER IV W/25." Still nothing to help us evaluate the accuracy of the bill, like what an "Emergency Procedure V" is, and what services we supposedly received that warranted this charge. I called Aetna. They explained that, of the many levels of emergency, I was being billed at a relatively high one--the allowable charges for the lowest level were nearly $1000 lower. Clearly, I thought, there must have been a mistake. Very few ER procedures could warrant less attention and resources than we were provided. So Aetna put me in touch with the audit people at Ascension. A month later, I had no word about the audit. I called Ascension and was told that the audit was already complete (thanks for letting me know). They found everything was entered correctly. Again, no further explanation. I asked if there was anyone who could better explain what I am actually being billed for. They told me no, and to contact the Department of Health Services if I had a complaint (which does nothing really but log the complaint). I checked in with Aetna again. Oddly, a new claim had just been submitted. The claim included more information, and now classified the visit as a level 3 emergency. It also showed a maximum charge of $1250. Now, I still think $1250 (on top of the doctor's bill) is outrageous, but I emailed Ascension and asked to at least correct the bill. They initially said I needed to contact Health Services, and IT TOOK ME 3 TIMES OF CONTACTING ASCENSION TO GET THEM TO RECOGNIZE THE NEW AUTHORIZED AMOUNT! As for the new claim, I was billed CPT 26400--an "elbow fracture," whereas the code for nursemaid elbow appears to be 24640. I was also billed CPT 99283--a problem of "moderate severity", requiring an "expanded history" and "expanded examination." But the doctor saw what the problem was almost instantly. How was that "expanded"? My daughter is 2--what history was there to expand on? The fix was a 5 second twist of her arm. What complexity was there? CPT 99281 would have made more sense. But Ascension couldn't be bothered to talk about codes. And I was ready to move on. So I set up a payment plan, and just decided I was essentially donating my stimulus check to doctors. Why re-open the wound now (aside from a cramped Christmas budget this year on account of this)? A week before the last payment was due, my payment plan was canceled without explanation, and I was emailed that my account was going to collections. I quickly paid manually, so hopefully there are no collections. But I am sick and tired of incompetency, obfuscation, and greed from Ascension/Seton. I will go out of my way to avoid them now, and wish there was a way our ER doctors could too. read more

In July 2021, I had my second "Day Surgery" scheduled at the Southwest facility. Due to post op bladder issues, I remained for much of the first shift. I was cared for by many of the staff. I wish to acknowledge my gratitude for the professionalism and kindness with which they administered my care. My first surgery was two years previous to this one, and the care was of the same quality. I think that is indicative of their commitment to their patients. read more

This place is terrible . Had my first kid here in 2012 . They had no nicu area at time, so my son was transferred. This is worse than a clinic. 10 years later my wife and I check in at 9 pm don't get seen till 11 . During triage they said just wait we will be giving you a ultra sound . It's 11 pm when they call us in and just to tell us they don't have anyone to do an ultra sound . All they did was check her vitals to document they did something just to charge us later. This place is terrible please just save your time and go to a actual hospital. St David's is where to go read more

I've been here...4 times? Went this morning at 2:30 with appendicitis. This is a cozy hospital, small and personable. I've never had a wait. I saw JJ in the emergency room - he was great! He listened carefully to all our questions, answered thoroughly and honestly. I didn't feel rushed or ignored. My mom tested positive for covid and was in serious pain. We ended up coming here twice and each time she was sent home because 'it was just covid there was nothing they could do.' Another doctor did an at home visit and my mom's covid turned into a bacterial pneumonia that had gone on so long it reached her brain. She has had two ruptured ears that they happened to miss even though they looked at her ears. These ruptures also became severely infected due to the lack of timely treatment. This may cause permanent damage so yeah I do not recommend receiving care from this facility. read more

Went to the ER for chest pain and coughing red/brown flem, which a triage nurse suggested that I was coughing blood. ER docs didn't find anything, and I sat for an extra hour in my room with no communication from staff before finally being discharged. Fast forward 2 months, and I receive a $900 bill from the ER doctor. Now, Seton Southwest is in-network but it turns out that they contract in ER doctors which were out-of-network. My insurance tells me that it's "impossible to know" whether a doctor is in-network or not, but refuses to pay the bill. The ER doctor's billing group tells me that it's the insurance's responsibility. So now I'm stuck with a $900 bill even though I went to an in-network hospital. Bottom line -- Seton ER seems to scam patients by hiring out-of-network doctors. Go somewhere else unless you like surprise bills. read more

I wanted to provide a follow up. I have spent some time thinking about this whole experience and it is difficult to separate the two pieces of this puzzle. Treatment and billing. Overall, the treatment seemed fine, albeit a little over cautious. I can understand wanting to make sure they check out everything, especially when your are in an ER environment. All that cost is passed on to the patient. Their liability must be huge, IE don't be overcautious and the patient suffers then they are looking at a potential law suit. The facility itself was not busy, I might of been one of two people in the place, even with that I spent a the better part of the two hours with nurses and literally 5-7 minutes with the ER Dr. Nurses and specialists were great, considerate and engaging. The issue is the check-out billing department. This pain continues even today. After consulting with my insurer, UHC, it was determined that ER would be the best bet for me and Seton Southwest was an approved in network facility. This is why I went there to begin with. During this month long ordeal, I have not been asked for payment, apart from my ER visit. The vendors would run my services through UHC first, payment is applied by UHC, knowing my true deductible and then the remainder is billed to me. The young lady who hovered over me with paperwork at Seton to sign which I never have yet to receive a copy of, told me I had to make a payment now, was simply incorrect. I am grateful she didn't really have a clue as far as what had been paid to my deductible this year, zero is the correct answer. Luckily I was only charged $400 or so, when they could of hit me up for the full $600 deductible. Why is this important? Bills from doctors, my ortho and the hospital all came in to UHC at different times. UHC applied the deductible and the health care plan payment and then left a balance for me to pay for each vendor. Since Southwest was the only vendor who demanded payment, not required btw, they now OWE ME a refund of over $100. When the extremely helpful UHC billing rep called Seton Southwest, she was able to let me know I would be able to request the refund in a couple of weeks and they would be happy to conference me in with Seton to make sure it get's done in the future. What a pain. Lesson learned. read more

My surgery is being held up by the Seton PSH. They won't even return my phone calls. My orthopedic surgeon claims he doesn't know why PSH is holding things up and it just seems like another layer of bureaucracy and a way to get more money from the patient or insurance companies. I will be trying to change surgeons to get away from Seton. I will also be posting my opinion on Yelp in an effort to warn others. read more

I had the unfortunate experience of accompanying a friend to Ascension Seton Southwest twice within the last month. Seton Southwest is only five minutes away. My friend was doubled over in pain and groaning. Let me tell you about Seton Southwest! First there doesn't seem to be any triage. The staff avoid eye contact. We were told, "they will see you as soon as they can". When is that? if the beds are full, just say so. There are a couple of hospitals that are just a little further. We could head there if needed. My friend was finally taken to the room. He told them the problem. The doctor said they would do a CT scan and provide pain relief. The nurse wasn't in any hurry in bringing the pain medication. She seemed completely cold to his pain. He was finally given "something for pain". When I asked what, the reply sounded like I had asked something challenging. Unfortunately the pain medication didn't work. My friend had not been given the call light. No one checked on the effectiveness of the pain medication. Anyone walking by the room didn't look in. We waited a couple of hours for the CT while my friend was writhing in pain. When it was finally done, the doctor didn't share the results, just that they would do a procedure. The procedure wasn't successful, so he needed to be transferred to Seton Northwest. Time spent at Seton Southwest: five hours. No fluids given even though there was an IV. We arrived at Seton Northwest and there weren't any beds in the Emergency Department! Wasn't this a transfer? When I asked the staff walking through the waiting area that question, she said "some people have had a wait as long as three hours". When we finally made it to the back, things moved along pretty well. We made it home at about 4:30 AM. Time spent at Seton Northwest: three hours. How did this turn out? An infection set in. He is hospitalized (not at Seton). My advice to anyone reading this is to avoid the Seton system. There are two other major providers in the area, San Antonio is a little more than an hour away and Houston is three hours away. Any of those choices would have been better than what we encountered at Seton. Rather than asking me to call some number that no one answers, I would like Seton to reply with the answer here. read more

Worst emergency room ever!! I went in because I had fallen backwards onto a log while gathering firewood and I was in so much pain I couldn't walk. I explained to them what happened. But they treated me like I was a junky coming in for pain meds. After waiting for 3 hours as the next person in line for a room, they told me that to get dilaudid, I needed to have an I.V. After suffering in pain for so long, I allowed it. Then without permission, they tried to remove my blood from my body. I told them that wasn't necessary and that they can't do that. The nurse then said to me, "You want us to give you narcotics, but you won't let us test your blood?" I said, "Excuse me?" Then he didn't say anything else and he left the room. Then he had the doctor come in and said she needed to do a pregnancy test before she could give me an X-ray or a CT scan. I told her I had not been sexually active so I was therefore not pregnant. Then they walked out of the room without saying anything. After a few minutes, my friend asked what they were doing, and they said they were waiting for me to change my mind. Keep in mind I could barely walk, and they wanted to make me go through unnecessary hoops to make sure I wasn't faking it? I guess. Either that, or they were milking my insurance. Either way, holding a cup between my legs while I'm in excruciating pain was out of the question. --- They also suggested a catheter to remove the urine from my body. --- seriously??!!!?? Unbelievable!!!! Talk about adding insult to unjury. I came in to get treated for my pain and they just made everything worse. I finally left after 4 hours. No treatment. Not even a shot of dilaudid. (By the way, I found another emergency room - Cedar Park Family Emergency room on Whitestone Blvd. and they were amazing. They gave me X-rays and a shot of dilaudid and all without an I.V. or a pregnancy test or a catheter) YES!!. It was worth the longer drive!!!! I drove to Cedar Park Family ER, was seen, and drive back in shorter amount of time than I sat in the empty waiting room at Seton Southwest. I am now in full recovery with 7.5 mg norco and ibuprofen 800. I was in and out in 45 min. And they take all kinds of insurance. read more

I recently had to go to the ER here for a disturbingly swollen calf. Turns out I had a staph infection, and it was a bad one, but the treatment I got here was more than up to the challenge. I was seen literally 1 minute after completing my forms, and the treatment was professional, thorough and effective. I was back to normal in a few days. I'm 2 for 2 with amazing surgical experiences! 1st: 1/2019 "emergency," though my doctor routed me (on a Sunday) through the ER, it was for a direct admission (not an ER admit). From admission, to the care, to the food (well, they tried hard - it was more that I didn't care for the dinner personally), to the CARE, to the anesthesiologist & all the surgical prep and recovery, to the CARE, the professionalism, the discharge process - 5 star experience! I wish I kept names of everyone who provided care/assistance: everyone was fabulous! 2nd: 7/2019 - day surgery. Prior to my admission, I received a pre-op call reviewing my medical history/any concerns. I also received a call with the anticipated out-of-pocket amount owed upon check-in. Check-in/aka "Patient Access" person was nice, professional, prepared, efficient. I learned the approximated ending balance after the check-in $ payment (we'll see how that compares in actuality!). Admitting/primary caring nurse Dao: Awesome, Professional, Seasoned - and the first heplock/IV site I've ever had that didn't bruise AT ALL! Sad her shift ended before I left, but my next nurse Lacey (supervisor) was great too - thank you, Dao & Lacey! Anesthesiologist, nurse anesthetist, surgical assistant, and surgeon all visited prior to go over everything to ensure the greatest outcome for my procedure. Everything was explained well, all my questions and concerns were addressed. As I'm allergic to many antibiotics, extra attention was spent here to ensure my safety. As my procedure was in a specific area of concern, everything was explained to ensure my confidence. And additionally - unrelated, I had a bad shoulder: I received specific explanation of how they would move/position me to protect it (which they absolutely did, because it's doing great too!). Recovery nurse (to me, AKA, the "angel" who greets you on "the other side") was absolutely delightful (wish I remembered your name, but you "go" girl/mom of 2 beautiful young kids 20 months apart!). Discharge was super speedy - but not rushed-, efficient, with discharge instructions, and phoned in prescriptions to my pharmacy (that were ready for pickup upon leaving the hospital - go HEB @ Brodie!). The helper/volunteer was so kind and patient with escorting me to the car and for making sure I was safe with the transfer getting in. My overall "take-away" regarding all of the hospital team members involved: All were absolutely professional, knowledgeable in their areas, seasoned & confident, able to answer/address all my questions and concerns, and just awesome. For what it's worth, I really appreciated that no one was "green." I'm not putting down anyone who is (everyone needs to start somewhere), but for my experience and issue, I was happy to allow for student observers for the procedure but am glad that my care team was seasoned. Hospital was clean. Day surgery rooms are "yours" (felt comfortable leaving my phone/belongings there). Received heated blankets and every hospitality that I would want/expect in order to relax and be able to focus all positive energies towards the skillful hands of my surgeon! Oh, and I love how they ask the pain questions! (That 0-10 scale). Instead of merely, "what's your pain level?" I was asked beforehand (from Dao) what was MY "threshold" of pain tolerance - as in, at what point would I really need pain meds? Since I don't like pain meds, I knew what # to relate to avoid them, and when I wavered closely, my nurse responded appropriately! I remember appreciating this system from my previous surgery in January. Kudos to this, and kudos to the nurses' interpretive abilities! I had recently left a bad review for this hospital based on a personal al experience, BUT, back in April, I took my mom in because she was having chest pains, and they were all super helpful and fast to find out that she was actually having a heart attack. She had 3 heart attacks that day, and if the dr's and nurses hadn't acted as fast and thought as they did, I might not have my mama right now. I want to thank seton southwest for their fast response on getting her in an ambulance and shipped off to seton central. She ended up needing 5 Stints that night. read more

This is small hospital with usually only one ER doctor on staff. This place is good if you have minor issues going on, like cuts needing stitches or minor dehydration. They will typically see you relatively fast since they are not as busy as other hospitals. Do not go to this hospital for anything you think may be serious like headaches lasting a long time, chest pain, or other things you believe you might be admitted for. Also it's better if you take your children to Dell Children's hospital for anything slightly serious. I have nothing against this hospital but they just can't fully treat many things due to staff and equipment. read more
