This facility seems to really unlike working with other nationality other than caucasians. Second time we had to come here to get an ultrasound done and we had the same problem. As we had a doctor's order, we made the appointment. When you arrived to the main entrance, you have to sign in and wait in the waiting area until they call you up to register. So we did, then 5 minutes later 2 other family came in and signed in. At one point, we all were waiting and then the second & third family were called before us. So I decided to just go up and ask if we would be on time to our appt since you didn't call us before them. Anyways they finally got us registered but during the registration, one of the lady, I think her name is Andrea, not 100% but the blonde caucasian one went back to the printer to grab some papers for the person she working with and just eyed us and shook her head. It is unfortunate to have that kind of treatment. No one should be treated with disrespect no matter what race or nationality. We pay our taxes, pay for our insurance, we should be able to get service when we are sick, I'll, or injured without judgments. On a good note, 1 star for the lady name Lisa who works at the imaging center. She turned everything back to a positive note. read more

I was a patient for 5 days on the cardiology floor and had excellent care. The physician coordination was excellent. I did not need to use my call bell a single time! The nurses, therapists, and PCT's were wonderful! read more

Communication with this hospital is very uneven, from very careful to simply presenting facts about vitals. When I've called the floor to inquire about my family member's status, most of the nurse give credible feedback. A HUGE exception is Dr. Raymond Harshbarger, who never called after surgery the day of the procedure or any days afterward nor designated another staff member or nurse to call. Reviews of him on other sites are tepid. He may be a surgery pro but sure doesn't seem like a compassionate human being. This is incredibly frustrating and speaks poorly of the hospital. read more

I broke it down by service or department for easy viewing. I hope you find it beneficial. Location: Located off AW Grimes and University Blvd, in North Round Rock about 5 miles or so from Georgetown, is Seton Williamson medical center (hospital). The hospital is laid out kind of weird. Especially if you are going from the ER to the dining room/cafe and back. Prepare to do a lot of walking! Emergency Room: ER seems hit and miss. Guess it depends on the time of day, I've always gone during late evening or nighttime. Sometimes you wait, but never for more than 20 minutes before being seen by triage. Surgical Services: They seem ok. My husband was admitted for chest pain and it took the cardiologist 22 hours to make an appearance at all.. whatsoever. Billing/Registration: Ugh. I always have bad experiences with medical billing. The patient registration employees expect to collect money, so bring your wallet. Nursing Staff: Well, in the ER, you often get the incompetent and baby nurses, so I won't judge it based on my ER experiences. We stayed on the third floor which is cardiology and the clinical assistants were very responsive and friendly, but the nurses lacked some basic communication errors and made multiple mistakes. Patient Rooms: Patient Rooms have a futon (couch that turns into a bed) along with a few other chairs for visitors. They are some private rooms, others have two patient beds. The private rooms have their own bathroom, shower, sink with mirror. There is a big window in the rooms with an easily adjustable shade to adjust the level and extent of light. There is a small television (probably a flat screen 19-inch) that has cable along with other movie options. There is a closet/cabinet for the patient's belongings and a little counter top next to that area. The room itself was clean and looked new. We either had quite neighbors or the rooms are pretty soundproof. Dining services: They offer patients a nice menu with the a selection of healthy choice options along with the typical cold cuts and burgers. There food isn't that great, hospital food never is. And the cafeteria is pretty small and the food options are very limited. Oh, and here is a biggie... THE CAFETERIA CLOSES AT 7PM. My suggestion? Skip the cafeteria, hop back in the car, and drive down University Blvd (about 2 mi away) and you can eat at Mighty Fine Burgers, Steak N' Shake, Sonic, Subway, Which wich, a Cajun restaurant, TGIFridays, Mimi's Cafe, or BJ's Brewhouse. Housekeeping: Personally, I think they should be cleaning the patient room during their visit, not just after they leave. My husband was admitted and stayed 3 days, his bathroom never got cleaned during his stay. The hospital itself is pretty clean and new. Parking: Free, no parking garage, and there is multiple locations throughout the hospital to park. Easy parking. Overall, its an okay hospital, as far as hospitals go anyway. Its clean and modern. At a convenient location, parking is a breeze, and the patient rooms are nice. So, its our hospital of choice as we live in Round Rock. read more

Where to begin...My family has been here multiple times because of emergencies and because of the convenience of the location. The staff is usually rude except for the dr. Dr. Zimmerman was helpful but the MA seemed clueless. I was prepped for and IV but never got one and upon leaving i had to remind her to take the thing out of my arm, which took her multiple sticks and bruised mt arm. Did I mention the blood on the floor and sink?! Who knows who's it was and we had our 2 kids with us because of the emergency. Worst hospital ever! The staff here in the ER were amazing. (There was one male staff who did the EKG and drew blood that I want to give specific praise to, but I can't remember his name though!) I don't fault them because they were short staffed and doing their best. What I do have issue with is the hospital. I arrived at 10 am, and didn't get seen until after 4 pm (note: I didn't leave the ER until after 6 pm, so I had been in the ER for 8 hours). In the time from 10-12:15 they had did some tests, and stuck an IV needle in my arm and made me wait in the lobby, that was it. Nobody gave updates other than they were running with 1 tech, and I had to ask for the update. I understand they were busy, but I was quoted 30-45 minute wait time when I had received an X-ray at 12:15, and that was inaccurate. I'm glad my problem wasn't super serious after all, because if it was, it would've been made worse. The one staff I do have an issue with is the doctor. I feel he didn't diagnose me correctly. I'm still having issues today, and he barely even looked at me. I will definitely not be returning back to this ER. read more

We were sent to the ER by our PCP. The ER was expecting us when we arrived. My son was very sick and in respiratory distress, it was terrifying. Once we arrived the took us right back to a room and began working on him. I want to say a very special thanks to the ER nurse Mario - he was amazing. He put my son at ease. He did such a beautiful job putting an IV into scared little boy. My son didn't even notice it, that IV held up through our entire time in the hospital. One poke is all my son had to endure. My son was diagnosed with pneumonia and transerred to Dell Children's Hospital. I am so incredibly grateful to the professional staff for being there for us when we needed theme. read more

I wish I could give this place negative stars. The bedside manner and lack of resourceful people in this hospital is uncanny. My father came in after a massive head trauma and was treated as if they just wanted to check every box off the list and get him out ASAP. We brought him home, and they had forgotten to prescribe the one med that was helping his pain. We brought him back only to experience an awful AWFUL night of him not being able to sleep due to pain and the nurses and doctors REFUSING to give him anything through the IV because they wanted to transition him out the next day. He has been writhing in pain all night and no one has been helpful in giving him anything. The fact that a hospital is not helping someone with a MASSIVE HEAD INJURY to feel better and more comfortable and is more obsessed with pushing their own agenda is ridiculous. Luckily our second visit back to this hospital was more successful, although I would hardly credit anyone but one nurse and the neurologist, who finally gave him some medication that helped. He will never fully recover from the losses he took by being sent home early from this hospital. Would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent place for them or their loved one to be treated at. read more

My husband cut his index finger pretty severely cutting an artery a few days ago and had to get stitches. Went in for a check up and our PCP said go to ER because his finger was turning black. We have now been here at ER for three hours. The first doctor ordered xrays even though the finger wasn't broken. A few hours later the doctor came back and wanted to take out his stitches and remove the flap of skin per the on call plastic surgeon's instruction via a phone call. My husband said no as that was about 70% of the tip of his finger. Now we are having to wait at least another hour for the plastic surgeon to come in and look at his finger. They should have called him hours ago when they said that's what we were waiting for! read more

This happened a while ago but it has stuck with me as completely worth putting out there. First time I saw the doctor. I found the nurse practitioner was better than the doctor, initially. I went about 3 times to NP with o.k. results, probably because I was asking for referrals. She often questioned my medical history. Initially, I gave her the benefit of the doubt because my history is rather lengthy for someone my age. I thought that maybe she was wanting to check something. Now I know it wasn't any of that and she was falsely judging my issues. On the 4th visit when she denied me help with lower back pain which was causing a lot of fatigue and said she didn't know where to refer me and so gave me a blood test. Feeling a little in shock I just went along with her ordering a blood test for vitamin deficiency, when I knew it was because the pain was serious. When they were taking my blood in the lab in the back, I could hear the nurse practitioner talking about me negatively to the staff around the desk. You're lucky I wasn't feeling well or I would've confronted you and reported you to the Nursing board for confidentiality violation. It turned out I needed physical therapy for several things she totally missed. The doctor and nurse practitioner were incompetent. The nurse practitioner was also unprofessional. read more

I had an outpatient procedure here recently. The hospital was extremely clean and the staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable before and after my procedure. When I was taken in to pre op to get prepared a nurse came to greet me and explain what was happening, etc. I knew I was in good hands. I also liked the fact that my wife got text messages informing her about every stage of my procedure. My procedure went well. Thank you so much! read more

From out-of-town; Hubby has health issues - so we "get the pleasure" of checking local ERs. DON'T GO TO METRO HOSP!! The wait in Seton ER was minimal. The ER room was clean, nice - but not very comfortable. They brought me a free sandwich - nice. It was a long wait in ER - to get checked into a regular room - but considering they had to move him to another Seton... OK. Once settled in the hospital - WOW! EVERYONE was GREAT! Loved that patient meals were more like a nice hotel's room service! I stayed in the room with hubby all week. I don't motor well (broke back) and the staff treated me very well also. They had a fold-out couch for me and "guest" meals ($5 - $7.50). The care they gave hubby was TOPS!! Thanks SETON! note; the patient beds was awful - an airbed that CONSTANTLY aired. Needs a silent pump!! read more

I recently spent time in this hospital. Most of the nurses were incredible. I greatly appreciate that. The Drs. were amazing. I did have a couple of issues. One issue was the 2 women that are "in your face" type. They walked into my room stating, "We need to look at your skin. Can we look at your skin? We have to look at your skin. We're just going to look at your skin!" All the while being all hands. It's very disturbing. My Dermatologist isn't that interested in seeing "my skin", and I have skin cancer! Another issue was, once it was decided I could be discharged, I was rushed to get out. When asked if I could call someone to come get me, I said I would call Uber. I was told they'll call for me. Ok, that's fine. Next thing I know, I'm taken downstairs to wait for Uber, and find out they had NOT called Uber, they called Yellow Cab. 2 hours later, I received a text from Yellow Cab stating they still had not found a driver to pick me up. I was then taken back upstairs, to a waiting area, and was left alone. I contacted yellow cab, at the number in the text, canceled them, and contacted Uber. Less that 15 minutes later, Uber had arrived, and I was on my way home. I was in excruciating pain, by the time I got home. My Uber driver helped me into the house. I showered, went to bed, and cried from pain. My brother, a Paramedic and RN, called to check on me, gave me suggestions to ease the pain, which I immediately put to good use, and did receive some relief. 6 days later, pain was finally tolerable, and I was beginning to think I won't mind waking tomorrow. I was not given any discharge instructions, only follow up was to "see my primary care physician." Having online access to your care, isn't helpful, when the only info there was from 6 years prior. Most of the people here were excellent. I do appreciate the help I did receive. read more

I had inpatient surgery here. I have also been to this ER twice, once being admitted for a couple of days. Both ER experiences were the fastest I've ever had. Also, both times I was inpatient, I was on the fourth floor. The nurses were amazing. read more

I requested restrictions on the uses and disclosures of my personal and medical records: "All of my personal and medical records. All people and companies except myself, son and daughter. I will never seek treatment at any Ascension facility again." Having rational communications is virtually impossible with Ascensions' employees. Ascension denied my request to restrict use of my protected health information (PHI) "in order to provide our patients the best care possible" ... allow your providers to securely search your healthcare records" ... "to guide your care" ... "have access to all of your healthcare information" ... "clearer picture of your overall health" ... "better to provide you care" ... "treatment of you" ... "if we restrict your medical records". If I am never going to have Ascension provide treatment again, why did Ascension justify denying my requested restriction based on providing my care? Maybe they assumed I have no control over who provides my care. I have numerous non-Ascension in-network doctors and my primary-care doctor has no control over where I go. I appealed Ascensions' denial stating, " It is obvious your rejection was based on your absolutely false assumption that I will ever have any relationship with any Ascension provider under any circumstance. No Ascension provider will ever have any need to access my five visits. If any non-Ascension provider needs to access my Seton medical records, I will provide them. I have all 425 pages." Guess what? Ascension denied my appeal. Ascension denied my original request for restricting use and disclosure of my PHI so Ascension could provide better care for me, even though I also stated I would never go to an Ascension provider again. In denying my appeal, Ascension never once mentioned the argument they used in denying my original request. Instead, they threw out an argument that has absolutely nothing to do with my original request or my appeal ... an issue I never mentioned. Ascension stated, "Due to state and federal record retention laws and other legal considerations, Ascension is mandated to maintain medical records. Therefore, we are unable to restrict your medical records ..." Ascension either does not know the difference between maintaining and accessing or it is playing games. I have 3 books in my desk that I have never opened and never will because the subjects are irrelevant to my life ... analogous to maintaining, but not accessing my PHI. Why does Ascension not understand? Since I will never be treated by Ascension again, why does it need to access my PHI? Maybe Ascension just cannot find its butt, even if it uses both hands. read more

My mother who recently experienced a fall and experienced multiple medical issues has been cared for by thoughtful and amazing nurses, nurse assistants, PT, Respiratory and OT techs. I have been so impressed with their empathy and kindness. Their job is difficult, yet they smiled and provide encouragement to my mother during her greatest need. I want to say thank you to the 4th floor unit, Jinu , Priyanka,, Lauren and all the other health care professionals. I also want to say thank you to Sasha and the food service dept. Exceptional performance from the ER this week. Took husband in 4pm Thanksgiving Eve. 50 minutes later he's been triaged, IV placed, fluid bolus, IV pain meds, lab drawn, stool sample sent, CT scan completed!!! Corey the doc kept us in the loop with plan of care and DeeAnn was timely with meds and fluids. He's now an inpatient and has received pretty good care on the floor. Sure, there's a few things that could be a tad better, like the toilet being cleaned each day (he is here with bowel issues!!!!), but nothing major. Everyone is super friendly and helpful if asked. The nurses are young and a little green but we all have to start somewhere. I am a RN myself and I am super critical so this is praise indeed. I work for a competitor hospital system and I am pretty sure he wouldn't have got an ER experience like this at my facility.... read more

Terrible customer Service, I tried to do everything right prior to going in for a Colonoscopy procedure, requested by my doctor as part of my physical . I called the billing department to get a cost estimate beforehand. I was assured that I was covered 100% by insurance. I checked with all the associated doctors and anesthesiologist to make sure everyone was in my network. Good to go, or so I thought, The facility was clean and professional, everything went well, overall a fairly pleasant experience, as far as a colonoscopy can be. Then I get a bill from them for $940.00 charged to my deductible. What??, I check with the insurance and they instructed me that Seton billed the procedure as diagnostic and that is not covered for full payment, it needs to be filed as "Preventative" for 100% coverage. They instructed me to have Seton re-file with the corrected codes and they would cover it. I contacted the billing department and was told that they would re-file my claim, 6 months have now passed and they still have not done so. The doctor filed correctly and was paid, the Anesthesiologist filed correctly and was paid. Seton won't file a corrected claim, and want's me to pay. I pay a lot for health insurance and this is a covered procedure. I can't even get an address to write to anyone at Seton, only phone numbers. I was told by their billing department it would be handled, but it's only lip service. I can't get anything in writing from them except a bill! I would give the facility a higher ranking, but the billing department zeros anything good about them OUT!!! read more

My mom is here at the moment and the doctors and nurses are really doing a great job. The hospital is very clean and we have had a very positive experience so far. I have lived in the area for about 30 years and this is the best hospital I have been exposed to so far and I have been to most all of them in this area. Keep up the good work!!! read more

My husband had a scare of shortness of breath, BP issues and heart palpitations.... I took him to the ER and they took him right back, ran all the needed tests (blood, EKG, BP, X-ray) and we were seen by the doctor... we were in and out, all within 2.5 hours. They took great care of him and this place is very clean. ER's are always expensive, but you can't put a price on peace-of-mind! read more

My dad was brought to this hospital on 04/29/19 with a massive stroke and brain bleed. We were told it was not a survivable incident, and my mother decided to not have life support. Daddy was placed in a room on the fifth floor and was kept comfortable and out of pain until he passed four days later. During that time, many people were in and out of his room, and the nurses and doctor and chaplains were absolutely the best. I do not think for one minute that we could have gotten through those terrible four days without their loving support of my daddy and of all of us. I cannot say thank you enough to the staff in emergency and on the fifth floor for all they did. They are precious people to all of us, and their kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. read more

this hospital is awesome. I am so glad we switched from another local hospital we used to frequent. at the other hospital we never saw a cardiologist even when my husband was in there for chf. The staff is awesome, my only compliant is they forgot to tell us we had to call in and order every meal and the fact that they make me pay for my meals. they brought a yellow carnation to his room in pretty little vase and every time we ring the call bell someone comes within a short time. We love this place and will probably never go anywhere else. read more

Actually, No Stars, my wife took her mother to the ER on Saturday. They would not let us both in due to Covid 19 restrictions, once inside however my wife was confronted with a situation that was totally unacceptable. Many staff members were not wearing mask, practicing any sort of social distancing and had nothing but excuses when my wife attempted to address the situation with the nurse/staff. If you took an elderly very frail 87 year old to a hospital, were over 60 yourself and had been practicing stringent isolation and cleanliness so as to keep your mother as safe as possible, then went to a hospital where it did not seen to be a priority, the staff was condescending and dismissive and then called in security, a very weak but blatant attempt to intimidate, when you complained. Would you go back or recommend someone else go there? Neither would I, nor will I. In fact, go else where if you can. read more

This review is for the Women's Center. I delivered my baby here and it was absolutely fabulous! Including myself, 3 women in my family had 3 babies in about a year at the 3 major hospital systems in Austin. My experience at Seton Williamson was far superior to the other 2. The nurses were attentive, knowledgeable and kind. They practice rooming in, so unlike other hospitals, my baby was not taken from me for hours after he was born-everything was done right in front of me. I was asked my birth plan upon check-in and the nurses all respected me and supported my wishes. Seton has got to be the MOST breastfeeding friendly hospital in town! I had several visits by Lactation Consultants and was set up with everything I could have possibly needed for breastfeeding success and comfort. The food was great, I didn't need anyone to bring me outside food at all. One downside is the cafeteria closes at 7, so if you have your baby in the early evening, you'll have to get food elsewhere. The small reason I didn't give Seton 5 stars is because of the post partum rooms. They are just regular hospital rooms, no nice or special blankets, no especially nice art or décor in the room and the worst part-the beds. They have those stupid beds that inflate/deflate to prevent bed sores, etc. Seriously?? If you have a baby, you are in the hospital for about 2 days, and you are up allll the time, bed sores are not a concern! Every time I would get a chance to sleep, the stupid bed would adjust and wake me up. Bad plan for PP rooms. I'll take it though, since everything else was so great! I highly recommend! read more

Probably the worst ER experience ever in my life. I've had two Cervical Spinal Fusions because of what happened in Iraq and went to ER because of a skiing fall that reinjured my neck. I sat in pain for close to 5 hours while doing a CT scan and MRI. Dr. Pittman came in once and never saw again and never saw the RN. Not sure why they would just let you sit in a room for 4 hours and never ask how I'm doing or how pain is. Never even got a Tylonol for the pain. Pretty sad ER treatment and hopefully never have to come back! I think I would have better luck driving for over an hour to the Veterans Hospital and get better care. Pretty sad our injured combat vets can't even get decent care in a private US hospital. read more

I was having severe abdominal pain so I had my husband take me to Seton. Seton has not been my first choice in a while because of the wait time, but they are close. Sure enough the wait time was horrible. I spoke to someone in check in and she took my name and number, collected my drivers license and insurance card, and then checked me in. I waited for about thirty minutes, maybe more, then they called me back and took my vitals. They told me it would be a while because they didn't have any rooms available, so I was sent back to the waiting room. I sat there for about thirty or so minutes and then decided enough was enough. The waiting room was full and I knew it would truly be a wait. I told them I was going elsewhere. My husband drove me to St. David's off of 620 and they saw me in no time. They immediately took my vitals, asked questions, took urine sample, hooked me up to IV and had blood work done within about 20 minutes of my arrival. Had I been at Seton, I would have probably still been waiting. The staff at Seton were very nice, but I really wish they would take a look at making some improvements. read more
