Christmas came early a few weeks ago as I had to have stitches for the first time ever. Since the accident happened late at night I went to Family Emergency Room as it is close to my house. After filling out the quick paperwork I was seen by Erica a Nurse Practitioner who was amazing. She explained carefully what she would be doing and answered my questions. The whole process was fairly quick and involved a little discomfort but no real pain. I had to return 10 days later for removal and was given detailed instructions on how to care for the affected area during that time. The 2nd visit for stitches removal was quick and easy. Everyone involved did an amazing job and truly seemed to care about my well being. Sure I could have gone to a hospital emergency room, but no telling how long I would have waited to be seen, so the extra $$ out of pocket was well spent in my opinion. read more

Excellent staff at this facility. Malona, Ryan, and the rest of the nursing staff go above and beyond to ensure the standards of patient care are exceeded. Dr. Higgins, their Director of ER took time to really build rapport and get to know his patients. He said it was "the best way to know what they need." I went here during the Covid lock down for a UTI. I was the only person there or really on the street for that matter. There were polite and I was out in under 10 minutes. That 10 minutes cost over $5000 after my insurance negotiated. The bill does not list the services. I called my insurance and they informed me that one of the services was a $480 pregnancy test. I am 48 and not in a relationship right now. Why would they even perform this? I did not tell them to or give them permission. Also, since it is not described in the bill I would not even have known if my insurance had not told me. I am not working to negotiate this outrageous bill, there is no way I can pay this amount for something that should be in $300 range out of pocket. read more

Worst experience ever. We came with our infant at night, he had fever. What have they done? They gave him Motrin. Then decided to check if he has COVID, and it was it. I requested to retest for covid, but instead they sent us to hospital! Why??? Upon arrival to hospital nurse asked us why we came here and why emergency room doctor sent us here? Because they cannot do anything about it. Overall, how they treated the baby was awful, the nurse was so brutal, when taking temperature, checking COVID and giving medication. I don't know, it seems that that old woman doesn't have kids! They took $800 from us for doing nothing, but torturing our baby. Hate this place, hate these people who work there. I cannot say greater things about this place! I was a patient there and was treated fast and you can tell Dr. Green cares about her patients. The nursing staff made sure to do check ins with me too which was nice. When going to CT, Ryan personally came to wheel me over and was calming me down after my nervousness( never had a CT done before) The front desk is so friendly and very informative! NO WAIT TIMES EITHER! Would recommend to anyone! read more

This ER is horrible. My husband went in with an infection in his leg. They started running an IV with antibiotics and then several hours later, they stupidly tried to find out what kind of bacterial infection it was but they couldn't get good results because they already had him packed full of antibiotics. They just assumed it was staph. The doctor took a momentary glance and said, "it's not staph". They got a whole bunch of no answers. Then they billed us contrary to what our insurance company is saying, and when we asked about it, they wouldn't send any documentation or explain anything. I wouldn't send a dog that I cared about to this ER much less a human being. read more

Is there a 0 star? This institution is exactly what's wrong with our entire medical environment in the US. I go in because I have a stomach bug, get seen for less than 5 minutes, and $1500 later, I get a bill. You wonder why we have such high insurance costs? Because of PREDATORS like this. The doctors who built this facility said, "let's call ourselves an emergency room" so we can over charge and say we charge "just like any other emergency room." It's disgusting that you people have created a predatory business to steal people's money under the guise of healthcare. Also, very funny that all these reviews are totally fake. Family ER administered the COVID vaccine for me and my family... and I think most of Round Rock! When the county wasn't stepping up, these guys did, and for everyone vaccinated, our infection rate goes down more and more, so huge impact they had on the recovery by acting and scaling so quickly. Despite the huge volume of patients they were seeing and treating quickly, which had to cause a lot of stress on the staff, everyone was so calm, friendly and caring. Family ER did a huge service for Williamson County during this critical time of need. So thankful we have a resource like this to supplement the traditional hospital ER system. read more

The paramedic and male nurse made my experience better however I felt like my pain wasn't looked at as serious by the first female nurse and lady at the front desk. I am young and was experiencing what I believed was chest pains and she automatically disregarded it to chest congestion not knowing my past Health conditions. I was also somewhat insulted when the front desk assumed I was on Medicade. I was having anxiety in that moment and I wish the women at that office were more understanding and welcoming. read more

do not use this place. they will look at your insurance card and tell you that they are in network and in fact cheaper than using a minute clinic for a strep test . do not fall for their lies as you will get hit for a hefty bill even if you have insurance. very disappointed with their tactics and this is what is wrong with health care . I left a review for Family Emergency Room Cedar Park as well. I was seen at both places as they are the same Family Emergency Room but with two locations. I will post my previous review here as it goes the same. I came to the Austin area for a vacation and had the unfortunate pleasure of needing to go to Cedar Park Family emergency Room and the Round Rock location after badly hurting myself on the river. Every Doctor I saw and spoke with (Dr.Matulich,Dr Higgins,Dr.Patel and Dr.Greenwood)gave me the most outstanding care I can remember receiving in a Emergency Room setting as well as all of the nurses and X-ray tech and Ultra sound tech. I unfortunately got a infection through a puncture wound in the river, and it got a bit scary for me. But with the very prompt, and thoroughly explained care it put me at ease I was in good hands. I fly back home to San Francisco tomorrow and truly wish we had one of their Emergency Rooms there! I would of been waiting 8 hrs no joke in the waiting room In SF and I was seen immediately at both locations here. I'm on the mend and owe it all to the superb qualified care from here. Dr. Rodriguez was able to quickly diagnose and treat the source of my ailment. Within hours, I felt substantially better and two days later I'm back to normal. Dr. Rodriguez is a supremely skilled clinician. All at the Family Emergency Room clinic from the receptionist to nurses (Dana and Laura), technicians, aides, and radiologist provided an exceptional level of care. Was in so much pain I started having a panic attack so my boyfriend rushed me here. The nurse freaked out and was really rude. Didn't even try to calm me down.. instead she says in a very stern way, "well breathing like that isn't going to help" I was in utter shock. She literally added onto my anxiety! What happened to bedside manner?! And is it not the nurses job to get you calm before you see a doctor?! This is what I grew up learning I mean my mom was a nurse so I only know the best courteous bedside manner. But the reason I'm giving this place 3 stars is because I went another time and the staff all around had an EXCELLENT attitude! So I'm trying to give credit where it's due. This emergency room is not all around bad. It was just that one night I went in I ended up feeling worse after going there than I did going in. Needless to say... The world of medicine has changed so drastically over the years. When I first moved here I went to St. Davids. Having an active prescription for pin medication, the full bottle with me and never used, they treated me like an addict. Other stand alone ERs require co-pay up front, or no care. Not this place. I went on Tuesday for a two week old head cold/coughing. The doctor thoroughly examined me and I left with medications. Sadly, I was worse two days later. Dr. Higgins explained everything to me, what test and why. I was diagnosed with acute bronchitis. My nurse, Misty, was AWESOME! The entire staff from the front desk, physician, nursing and radiology were all just amazing. This is what medicine should be. It's about the medicine and the patient, not the bottom line. I'm amazed, thankful, and so happy they opened a block from my house. read more

This place is amazing. The people that were working over night last night, phenomenal! A big thank you to the staff for making our visit smooth. I took my son in and was in tears knowing he would have to be slightly sedated to get a CT. The nurse could see how scared I was to see my 5 year old have to go through this as I had tears rolling down my face she wiped my tears with no hesitation and reassured me everything would be OK. I was made aware that a lady by my work place had suffered a fall & was in need of medical assistance, in the same shopping center, that the incident occurred was an emergency center. Family Emergency Room at Round Rock. I thought it would be easy to call the ER that was only a few yards away for a wheel chair & assistance. I spoke with A patient registration rep., she was quick to meet me on the sidewalk of their facility, eager to assist & she wheeled the patient to the ER as I returned the patients vehicle to her residence across the street from the facility. I was initially impressed with the staff's helpfulness. But I am greatly disturbed to find out that staff member that helped me was fired for assisting me & the injured patient. Due to their handling of this situation, I feel this ER is not in service to help the community, but to only make a profit off their patients. PLEASE BEWARE & DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!! read more

Was greeted promptly after entering the facility by the front desk clerk who was courteous. Was asked back to the triage room quickly and greeted by a very friendly tech (Brandy) and rn (Alma). They explained the process concisely and made it easy to understand. Alma planted an iv with ease and talked a bit with me before the doctor (Dr. Brooks) came in and told me what was going on. It was the easiest trip to an ER that I've ever had. Would 100% recommend this ER to anyone in need of their services. read more
