They can fix anything. Gail and Connie started this salon after moving around a bit since Capello's was changing. They, I believe, were the first two certified hair colorists in the state. They travel to the Redken seminar each year for education. What's more, they care. Gail was cutting my hair for around 9 years and she was doing fine, though her eyesight for cuts was not as good when I moved out of the area. I'm always amazed what she could do with an up-do, even with a wedding party screaming early in the morning. Why do they scream? I'd say that they're so nervous that perfection wouldn't please them. She also can do a highlight quite well, when she did the shoeshine technique on me. I've also seen her take care of someone whose hair was butchered by a bad coloring session and by the time she's finished, you can't tell that there was a problem. She and Connie will work so hard to make sure you're pleased and they keep people working in the salon that seem to feel the same way. read more

I got my hair done here a couple of months ago and I asked for balayage with pictures for examples that showed a very clear dark to light inspiration and instead got different variations of blonde stripes all over my hair, some chunky and some thin. It was my first time doing my hair and I had expected to at least be close to the ombre balayage technique picture I showed but was given very rushed looking highlights. The new owner is very nice and talked to me over the phone but I had mentioned a few times that I live an hour away and don't want to come in for nothing to be done about my hair, which is exactly what happened because I was offered a $240 touch up with toner and complementary conditioning which is more than I payed (by $60) to begin with. I even showed pictures of how my hair looked the same week I got it done, same thing as how my hair looked today with chunky stripes in it today with all the different tones of yellow, and still I was only offered services $150+ which I might as well use to just get my hair done at a better salon. I left disappointed and feeling like I just wasted 2+ hours with the drive there, back, and the time I spent during my "consultation" which basically was telling me nothing could be done to fix my hair unless I paid more than what I did originally. The consultation could have easily been done over the phone or through email. They tried to make it sound like I was getting a good deal but it was not. My biggest mistake was coming to this salon and I regret coming here to get my hair done, it was a huge mistake, I would much rather spend and recommend to pay more by a $40 or $50 than to come here and not get what you hoped for. This salon shows zero respect for their customer!! I purchased 2 Groupons for haircut and blow dry for my mom who is 101 years old. I called, made the appointment, told the girl I had a Groupon. We went this morning with Groupon in hand. When we got there the stylist told us she will not honor the Groupon. The girl I spoke to on the phone when I made the appointment said I didn't tell her I had a Groupon. The owner got involved and sided with her employee, basically saying that I lied about informing her of the Groupon. Keep in mind that nowhere on the Groupon (even the fine print) did not mention anything about using a specific stylist. At no time was I disrespectful to anyone there. That's not my nature. I had to pay full price for the haircut AND I told them they lost me as a customer. The owners attitude was she could care less. She said "sorry, there's noting I can do". I returned both Groupons to Groupon and I filed a complaint to them about this business. I requested the management call me back to tell me what they find and what happens next. read more

Had a great experience with Courtney with my eyelash extensions! She knows her stuff and was soo considerate letting you know from start to finish on what she was doing! She is sweet and enthusastic to what she was doing on top of being extremely professional! I have been a client of Gail's for almost 30 years!! Needless to say, I have always been extremely pleased with Gail's work and her suggestions! I learned over the years to trust Gail with what type of cut best suits my face, and what color highlights would compliment my complexion. Guess what? Gail has NEVER BEEN WRONG! I have always left the salon feeling happy and confident because of Gail's work as well as her judgement! I would also like to mention that as the years went by my health took a toll on my hair because of illness. In fact, several times I have had about one third to one half of my hair fall out! Gail was patient with my tears, spent extra time with me explaining what SHE could do with my hair to make the loss of hair less obvious, treatments that could possibly help my hair grow once again along with advice to go to a dermatologist just to be certain that the hair loss did not need more attention than she could give it! I have been going to this place for two years and the past several visits have been more than disappointing. If you're going to cater to a college audience, offer a college discount AND advertise in local college magazines, you should expect college customers! I am NOT going to pay $30 for a blow out when my hair is paper thin and it is a service that should be included like every other salon (yes, I am talking about the high end salons also) and then on top of that charge extra for "extra grow out" in my color service because I waited an extra month to come in... you did not use extra product believe me I've paid attention to how much you use. And don't anyone dare question the prices and policies of their salon or the owner will quickly correct you with her snarky attitude. Needless to say, on several occasions, I've left unsatisfied with sopping wet hair (not even decently towel dried) & unhappy (feeling skimped) with how much I've been charged. She showed her the cut and color that she wanted( photo below) and there seemed to be no issue so I left to keep my son busy. She let me know she was done so I hurried back over and was confused.. it didn't seem like anything had been done other than a bad haircut. After looking more closely I saw some VERY oddly done highlights with horrible lines and they weren't even the color she asked for. The style of the dye job wasn't even close to correct and we voiced this to the owner. She agreed without question that it wasn't right at all but we had to come back a few days later because I had a meeting to get to. We paid and stupidly tipped $30 thinking it would be fixed without issue. Before their student discount the cost was apparently $160 .. So I made her an appointment to fix it ( Thursday ) and wasn't concerned after seeing the outstanding work done by other stylists at this salon. As I am sitting there waiting my daughter comes back to the front and tells me we have to pay another $65.00 for toner. I was just so shocked that after such GLARING mistakes on her end we would still have to pay to correct what should have never been an issue to begin with. So long story short( because my daughters hair sure isn't)- it's "better" but it is still not what we paid for or even close to what she wanted. It was not handled professionally and if you offer a student discount to customers you should still treat them as important as other customers. We rescheduled her senior pictures that were supposed to take place and now I will have to pay someone else to correct the lines on the back of her head and the color issues. I am bummed out for my daughter that she spent her own hard earned $$ and finally did something for herself only to be left with a fried head of hair, the incorrect haircut and completely wrong color job covered in weird lines like she has a graph on the back of her head!!!! When I asked why my daughter why she didn't tell me how wrong it was after the "fix" she explained that she just had to get out of there and couldn't really tell how bad it still was until we got outside into the sunlight. If the desired style or colors could not be achieved then a stylists job is to tell the customer up front. Not take on the job and wreck someones hair. Lesson learned. Sadly at a high cost both financially and her senior photos. Now I was witness to some amazing acts of kindness by the owner, what she does for women battling cancer is AMAZING. I wish this had been handled differently and someone else had been in charge of correcting such blatant mistakes. I did ask the front desk if it would have to be the same person correcting the issue and was told that was how it worked. I still cannot believe that any stylist could let this walk out and represent them. read more

The Look Salon is truly the best Salon I've been too! Toni did a fantastic job coloring my hair and I truly couldn't be happier! She has a art for working on all types of hair. She truly listens to what I requested, she always has good ideas and the color / cut came out simply perfect! It's so nice to go to a salon where the entire staff is so amazing at what they do. Everyone is very kind, smart and knowledgeable at many levels! My appointment started right on time and I was finished in a timely fashion (I even had time to go get lunch after before I picked up my sons from school). I highly recommend going to The Look Salon! I'm actually going back in two more days again just to get my hair washed and blow dried. This week I went with my 12 year old daughter to Look Salon to request the following service: Blonde tips for my daughter, in which the owner, replied yes of course we can do it, but then what was supposed to be blonde tips the hairdresser started calling Ombre styling! There is no mention of "ombre" in their website and saloon, the prices in the website do not match the "new" prices at the saloon, all prices have a + sign at the end meaning that they can charge any price they want based on the "density of the hair". They didn't give any price in advance or explained that this was considered a "special", bear in mind that full highlights in their web site is 110+ dollars. After an hour my daughter was done, the hair looked good and then the receptionist asked me $260.00 for the services provided to a 12 year old child!!!!! Outrageous!!!!!! No hair cut no special products. So in few words kids pay the same as adults and prices don't match their web site and if you ask for a service that is not in their list make sure to ask the price in advance. read more

Let me just say that my experience at The Look was spectacular. I am very particular for my blow outs but they went beyond my expectations. I went in for a blow out as I am having my engagement pictures taken tomorrow, so I needed my hair to be really nicely done. My hair has literally never looked better. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I appropriately scheduled an appointment with Camille and when I arrived was told she was behind and got Michelle. Fine. All was going well until the very end of my cut when the manager or some control freak started further cutting my hair. Why? I discussed what I wanted with Michelle. Hair cutting is not a team event. Needless to say, she had no idea the style I wanted, and I'm still not sure why she butted in. I did not get the cut I wanted, thanks to this control freak, and it showed in Michelle's tip. By far the worst haircut I have ever had. Not only was taken in an hour after my appt. The hairstylist did not listen to anything to how I wanted my cut. I said please not too much layers and long layers. Instead she me the opposite and layers literally 2 inch from my roots. I end up going to another salon to have it fix, the stylist there called my hair a fancy mullet. I still have to wait until my short layers will grow back. This was a Groupon deal, trust me I learned my lesson. Hairstylist at this salon have no experience! Don't go here and do research! My first visit here and made an appointment with Sarah based on a friend's recommendation. Although I made my appt 2 weeks prior, she had another client overlapped with me. No apology or explanation was offered. So when my foils were in, I was left far too long under the lamp as she cut and styled the other client. Sarah had no time to come back to check on the progress of the 1/2 head highlights. My hair takes very easily (which I told her prior) so I had ended up with white, platinum highlights instead of blonde. I would have expected her to comment but she didn't. For me, that's a deal breaker. I need to trust the stylist and would rather hear an 'oops, I'm sorry' (I understand things happen!) than pretend all is well. The girl who shampooed me was very curt and rough. Then I sat and waited while Sarah finished with her other client. No apology. My cut was fine and she did spend time discussing some styling tips and hair products so I'm giving a few stars for that.
