Very clean and beautiful campground. There is an upper and lower camper parking area with laundry facilities on each level. Which is really nice and convenient. Two playgrounds for kids, mini golf, hiking trails and a small store/front desk. The people working here are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this campground. Only 10 minutes from Walmart and restaurants. Very very clean! read more

I think a four star rating is perfect. It's conveniently located, about a mile from the interstate. In a factory area that had there not have been clear signs, you'd probably think you were on the wrong path. It's far enough that you can't hear interstate noise. When we checked in we were told that things got busy at 10pm and 7am and that we may here noise from the road behind us. We kept the heater going and never were bothered. There two sections to the campground. The part by check-in seems packed and not secluded at all. Then there is the area down the hill that seem to have the bigger, more secluded sites. We were in site 47, which was the the very furthest one away from the check-in area and thought for sure that we wouldn't have been able to get wifi, but low and behold, the signal was strong and unlike the one at the other KOA that I stayed at. I will say that there was a price discrepancy with what I looked up online and what was quoted when I got there. The lady was nice about it though and said that if I could pull it up on my phone, she would match it. But when I pulled it back up the session has timed out. Oh well, it was only like $10 difference. So book online before depending on the site price. There's a pool and a ton of stuff for kids to do, but we were just looking for a place to pull up and sleep. We literally didn't even detach the RV from the truck and never got out. I wish they'd offer a cheaper rate for folks like us, which are probably common patrons, since they're just off of the interstate. We were coming from WV and headed back home to Lexington. Several exits up there was a campground called Jims Camping. Had I'd have known the price was what it actually was here, I'd have stopped at Jims. www.yelp.com/biz/jims-camping-milton which, according to the Yelp review, is about half of the price per night than this KOA. Oh well, just a thought for next time around. There aren't any restaurants around, so we were happy to find so many common items at the check-in store. This is one of the nicest KOAs we've stayed at. Just off I-64, we would stay longer if we could. Super-friendly staff and campers. No big cities nearby but a great Mexican restaurant about 15 away. All the amenities you've come to expect from a KOA but very well maintained. Showers and restrooms immaculate. You can tell this is a family business. We'll definitely choose this KOA when we're in the area again. read more

This is do able for a quick overnight stop but I wouldn't recommend it for longer or monthly. First, the positives: * Price: 48/night (50 amp hookup) (decent) * The campground is fairly new. And, the reason for our 3-star review: * We checked in late ~9pm. The staff were NOT friendly & made it seem like checking us in was a nuisance. Not exactly icing on top of the cake when you've been driving all day. * Then we get to our site and it was incredibly unlevel. Our RV was like a funhouse. * WiFi does not work in the lower lot and there is no cell service. * The layout of the park is very odd, I would not recommend showing up after dark with a big rig. Luckily, we are a small rig and pretty advanced at maneuvering. If you need a quick place to stop while traveling, this will do. Otherwise, I'd recommend cruising on down the highway until you can find something better. read more

Clean nice cabins. Never dealt with the staff in person since we were in very late and out very early. They did have all the information we needed and cabin ready when we arrived so cudos to them for being on the ball. Cabin had everything we needed and was clean, warm and comfy. Convenient location for us. Good price for the stay too! We would stay here again anytime! read more

I called KOA Ashland on July 3rd and spoke with an employee about cancelling my reservation I had on Aug 7th. She informed me that I would forfeit $10 as a cancellation fee. I informed her that I'm a VIP member and per KOA cancellation policy the cancellation fee is waived. She stated that per the campground owner they are an independently owned and that KOA policy does not apply to them. I told her that as a franchise of KOA they cannot pick and choose which policies to follow. I then said I understand that you are just the messenger. She even shared with me that the system was even showing her to issue a full refund. I asked her to inform the manager that I would be contacting KOA corporate on Tuesday in refence to this matter. On July 3rd I posted a review simply stating I'm not recommending this campground with the comment " They don't follow KOA cancellation policy for VIP members!". On July 7th the owner called very angry because I called KOA and posted the reviews. I tried to explain to the owner but there was not talking to him. This owner has no customer service skills at all! If he would have called and said that we must have a misunderstanding, how can we make this right? But he immediately went into everything was my fault without trying to understand what his employee stated. He went on to say that my reservation was not even cancelled. I can only speculate that when I spoke with his employee that she was hesitant to cancel until after she had an opportunity to speak with the owner. Regardless, I had asked for the reservation to be cancelled. Arguing on the call was not getting us anywhere. I asked the owner would he cancel my reservation and process a full refund. The owner's response was "I might not" and hung up. A short time later in the day I received an email cancellation with no refund at all. The cancelation fee was listed at $46.08. Therefore, from my prospective the owner stole my money as a penalty for the review. This is clearly not the documented cancelation policy. I will continue to work with KOA to resolve this very unwelcoming and dishonest situation. Campers beware!! read more

A nice campground. They have lots of sites for tents and RV's. There is some cabins also. Probably some of the best showers of any KOA ever. I would've gave a 5 star rating but the motion sensor wasn't working in the men's bathroom so it was dark in there. read more

Looks like a basic campground , but is it so much more.It has an amazing pool,amazing shower houses,and amazing things to do and games set up for kids like bingo night,putt putt/mini golf and way more.It has a big camper area , a tent area , and a road that leads to more spots for a camper area. read more

The property was beautiful. The trees are still young, but the owner is able to show the progress of the property from a field with nothing to what is clearly a well thought out plan for the future. Everything was wonderfully maintained. The owners assisted us with an issue with our RV and were professional and kind. The location right off of I-64 was so convienent, but you would never know that you were anywhere but the country. read more

The park is really nice, really well maintained. But garbage. Park management allows residents to throw garbage all over their sites. The first thing I had to do before pulling into my site was throw away my neighbors garbage. How do I know it was my neighbor's garbage, their site had it all over the grass. The wife was using new trash to start a fire in the fire pit. Their site and the one next to it looked like an explosion had gone off. If it isn't garbage it the people behind us that are storing dog crap in grocery bags near their door. And then you got the work campers who store large pieces of equipment everywhere. There aren't a lot of choices in this area but until management develops a backbone and starts telling people to clean up I'd find a different place to stay. But if you are a slob, this place is for you. read more

We stay at KOA'S all over the US, because they have a high standard you can count on. This one is lacking. It's very small, no trees at the sites, and almost no lighting for the entire campground. I felt uneasy. The guy that was maintenance and the camp all around guy, literally lived in a box on site. It was 4 giant boards nailed together and a tarp for a roof. He seemed nice, but looked more like a vagrant. The only good thing was that the wifi was OK and the sites fairly level. read more

This property it's self is mediocre at best.The one lady on there staff who is apparently the owner's son girlfriend was so rude about everything!She yelled at my son for walking in the bathroom while it was being cleaned,yelled at my kids and my sisters kid because she thought they were in the pool by themselves (my sister was sitting right there,and she didn't even apologize for the mistake!) Horrible, horrible, customer service.My sister attempted to talk with the owner but apparently she had better things to do and walked away(as for me,I told that troll where to go)Koa should NOT be affiliated with this campground because it is NOT friendly or FUN to be yelled at by a troll all weekend when you are trying to have a good time with your family!one star is one too many. read more

Haven't had any problems, been here two weeks will be here 2 months. Staff does a great job keeping bathrooms clean. Small pond to fish in, pool, air conditioned game room, small store on sight to buy snacks and two laundry rooms with three washers and dryers each. Only complaint, no shade. It's HOT. Really hot. They're planting trees but it will be quite a while before they offer any shade. Would be fine in the cooler months. All of the staff have been friendly and the owner I met was a very nice lady. When you check in don't forget to pet Romeo, the cat by the bench, he's very friendly. read more

BEWARE FRAUDULENT CHARGES The campground was fine. Pool, full hookups and clean. The problem??? Dishonest and fraudulent charges. They advertise a monthly rate. They refused to honor it because of high occupancy. They agreed to give us a weekly rate for a month. We learned at checkout and they had given us a weekly rate for one week and then charged a daily rate for the rest of the time. I assumed it was an error. Nope! Thelma said she didn't know I wanted the weekly rate for the whole stay. What???!!! I asked her to correct it. Nope! I told her that was dishonest and that I would report her to KOA. She gave me the number and told me good luck with that. I told her I would report it to my credit card company and dispute the charges. She said it wouldn't work. We will see. Seems she may have run this scam before. read more
