It was a challenge finding parking but when we did, we excitedly walked to the park anticipating the enjoyment we would all have. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were greeted with multiple signs advising that the park does not allow dogs and encouraging people to walk their dogs around outside the park. We did that, as well as attempting one of the trail options but we have better options for that without driving here, hence the two stars. We also understand the necessity of not allowing dogs is specific locations so this review is for anyone researching because the Internet has told them this is a dog friendly place. It is not.

Gone are the onslaught of splinters, burns from the hot metal slides and being attacked by the countless wasps hiding in the nooks, crannies and roof peaks. Even back then, this was the park to go to! Fast forward to a recent refresh, the playground is still sprawling and super diverse, something for everyone! Wood has been replaced by plastic and metal but the laughter of kids as they run wild is still here. The only downside is maybe the lack of parking, but on hot summer days you'll find the ice cream truck posted up in the lot closest to the playground. What I really love about this park is that's it's more than just a playground. The greenway cuts through it making bike riding an awesome option. Keeping in that theme, there's a BMX style dirt track with whoops, table tops and fat banks and burms. A comprehensive skateboard park, tennis courts, a huge open grassy area, covered seating for parties and a large dog park round out this sprawling Medford classic.

There is plenty of parking spots and good to see no non sense going on in the parking lot. We have been to a few skate parks where there were shenanigans going on in the parking lot. We stopped because I used to skate and it cool to watch the different levels of skaters having a great time. I'm 56 now and no more skating, I do have a super cool RC truck that I normally bring to the parks, I didn't have it with me on this trip. It was good to see skateboarders , bike riders and scooter riders all having a good time together. Sometimes the younger scooter riders get a hard time from the older kids. We sat in the shade for about an hour and watched tricks being practiced and tricks being pulled off, it brought back a lot of great memories. It was a surprise to see that not everyone had a helmet on, I know it saved my head more than a few times. Side note, just as we were leaving the police pulled up in the parking lot just to do a walk around. There are a lot of trees and bushes blocking the view of the freeway. The campground has paved roads and paths but otherwise is very dusty, dirty and super hot in July. We had a site that did not have a sewer in loop F. They have a dump station at the entrance. There was no easy path from the campsites in loop F to river access. The path to the river is behind the other loops. Once we found the rivers edge, the current was way too fast to use the river to cool off. The location was very convenient to Grants Pass and Medford. This is a fine place to stop for the night but we were glad to move on and wouldn't choose this as a destination to camp at in the future.

They are always helpful with any questions and swapping out skates. Open skate is only offered at certain times of day so make sure to check the schedule. We like to go in the afternoon when it is typically not as cold. We have found that more teenagers go to the night open skate. Parking is easy and they also have a lot of snack options for purchase including hot chocolate. Would recommend ice skating at Bill Collier Community Ice Arena, overall rating 4.25. Our whole family always has a blast ice skating here.
