Ashley Catering made our February 2019 celebration easy and delicious. Here is how it worked... Several weeks prior to the event we went to Redlands where we sampled from several alternative menus. We were invited to pick and choose from any of the options. We selected a Southern menu (biscuits, fried chicken, gravy, collards, black-eyed peas, and salad. We provided some feedback that changed things significantly and Ashley Catering worked hard to fulfill our vision. Did I mention that we insisted on a vegan meal? What? These guys met our challenge and exceeded our expectations in every way. Adults and children, carnivores and vegetarians alike loved it. Ashley Catering also provided setup, service, and breakdown. We rented tables, chairs, linens, and heaters from them. They were friendly, professional, flexible and punctual. Afterward, they worked with us the to store the leftovers professionally until we could donate them to a food rescue operation! (The flu had reduced our turnout.) My department scheduled a training in Riverside CA for today and I got a call this morning saying that the expected catering had not been delivered. I called Philip at Ashley Catering and he made it so easy for me to order and was able to have it delivered to the site. Lunch got there on time and he brought coffee since we were missing it this morning. We decided to give Ashley Catering a chance by starting with a taste test for our wedding. And let me tell you, I am sooooo glad that we did. From the very beginning Philip was very professional, polite, and presented himself and the company very well. He brought all of the different food options to our home for us to try without any inconvenience. I was worried the food wouldn't be hot, but I was wrong. Everything was fresh and well prepared and tasted delicious. The food was beautiful in every aspect. We chose the salmon and the chicken as our entrees. We were very please with the presentation and the taste that we decided that evening to cancel our other tastings and go with Ashley Catering. Something I really appreciated was how Philip allowed me to select the dates I wanted to make my installment payments ( he does a payment plan in the time leading up to the event. He was very flexible which I appreciate. A couple days prior to the wedding Philip called us to get all of the details to our wedding he was very open and full of great advice too. The event itself went off without a hitch. He was early as discussed. He was set up before the ceremony started. And he was very attentive during the reception. ALL OF MY GUESTS loved the food. I've directly used Ashley Catering twice now. The first time we contracted them to cater our company Christmas luncheon. They did such an excellent job for us that I referred them to one of our biggest clients who then used them 2 times to host their own lunch meeting at our site. Philip Hannah was my contact for each event and he has always been professional, courteous, and responsive to emails and phone calls. I appreciate their straight forward pricing on their website and wonderful customer service. I haven't used another caterer because Ashley always does a great job for us. Their food is also very good and our employees always give compliments on the taste. We typically book their self service buffet option with the choice of 2 main selections, 2 side selections, rolls & butter, 1 salad selection, and 2 beverage selections. My wife and I found Phillip and Ashley catering using Yelp. He was the first caterer we met with. After our tasting , which was amazing. We didn't need to look any further. We described our venue and our wedding guest list that was 220. Phillip worked with us on the menu, and provisions that is provided. Our wedding was amazing, Ashley catering was very professional, the crew made sure all our guest were fed. Phillip is a master with not only his setup, organization, but the overall taste of the food. Our guest were completely satisfied , and bellys were full. We had a bit of delay due to our wedding party , and Phillip met with our DJ, and venue coordinator to ensure that everyone was on the same page and adjusted for the delay. I can't say enough about how wonderful Ashley Catering is. They catered my wedding on May 6th and were AMAZING! Everyone told me how delicious the food was and someone even mentioned how it was the best food they'd had at a wedding in a while. Philip helped me so much throughout the whole planning process and was very patient with me and my ramblings. :) He would always respond to my emails quickly and would answer my calls and help me with everything I needed. The serving crew the day of were super awesome and very friendly and professional. They were able to work around the sudden rain and made sure everything went smoothly. Our company had a grand opening event on June 22, 2017 in Fontana, California. We needed to find a caterer for our event. We found Ashley Catering, and based on their Google Rating of 5 stars, we decided to use them for our event. Everything leading up to the event was great. However, from the event forward, they were extremely unprofessional. The day of the event Ashley Catering was supposed to arrive at 8AM for their 2 hour window to set up to be done by 10AM. They didn't arrive until after 9AM and were still setting up as guests were arriving. We didn't even know they were going to be delayed until I had to call them to confirm their ETA. Once they arrived, the 3 staff members, (we were told there would be 4), though very nice, were slow to set up. Their presentation skills were lacking, and I had to go and ask them to make the very sad looking platters more abundant and appetizing. Their food was also subpar. We placed an order for bacon wrapped chicken skewers, finger sandwiches and pinwheels and bruschetta. The finger sandwiches looked like a kindergartener cut them, they left crusts on. The bread was squished and unenticing. They were not presentable for what we had paid for this event. The pinwheels were messy and the bruschetta were tiny. I had to bring out our facility popcorn maker just to offset how terrible the food was. Then we had issues with their dessert, which was store bought. At $21.00 per person, I would expect something that wasn't from a supplier like Costco, Sam's Club or Smart and Final. I would have expected something made in their kitchen. We also paid an additional fee to have the attendants serve the food, and we have photographic evidence on multiple occasions that this wasn't the case and one was on her phone constantly. When brought to the company's attention after the fact in looking for compensation from this embarrassing event, we were given the run around, had to call multiple times to receive answers and basically were fluffed off by them saying "they considered the event a success." The way they are handling these real grievances are completely unprofessional. read more

I decided to host a birthday party on Memorial Day and based on a recommendation from a friend, I decided to call Ashley Catering. I was concerned my choice of date would pose a problem, but Philip answered my call and assured me they could accommodate my request and cater my event. Philip was professional from start to finish. All transactions were completed in a very timely manner. The food was delivered and setup well within the time frame we discussed. The food was fresh and delicious; my guests could not stop raving about it. The servings were generous and there was more than enough to go around. My mother passed a short time ago we contacted Phillip (owner) to quote catering her memorial on 11/23 he hardly ever answers his phone and you always get a voice mail (no cell phone) and have to leave a message or send an email after playing phone tag for several days we connected and he sent me an estimate and agreement over the weekend the agreement stated 30 days prior notice and had other limitations - my issue was that I have 14 days to get this ordered and settled We spoke in the phone at 930am today and I told Phillip that the 30 day terms would not work and suggested I change it to 10 days due to the time constraints HE SAID NO PROBLEM and that he would revise the agreement and email it to me along with a call this afternoon. It is now 8:09 pm and NO call, text or email! Nice Phillip - this is my Mothers memorial and you have left me in a bind where I now have to seek other caterers with 2 weeks notice....not a good way to promote your business. read more

I am recently married and had Ashley Catering work our wedding. I found them on Yelp and saw that they had great reviews. They were inexpensive, gave great deals, and were prompt when I first called. I met Philip in person to do a food tasting, he was polite and professional. The food was wonderful! On the wedding day, the staff was helpful and great to work with. Everyone was complimenting how great the food tasted. Philip would come over to ask me or my parents how everything was going and if he could help with anything else. They also contracted licensed bartenders out for us at our wedding, which eliminated a step for us and made our lives easier. Overall it was a good experience working with Ashley Catering. My only critic is the responsiveness leading up to the wedding, it was pretty hard to get ahold of Philip the few months leading up to our wedding day. Calling by phone is usually better to reach him than through email. But I would recommend this catering company for your catering needs. read more

We used Ashley Catering for an overnight running event in Temecula and had them provide coffee and hot chocolate for our participants. They did such an excellent job and will be asking them to come back next year and probably have them sell food as well! They never ran out of beverages even in the middle of the night. We tried them for the first time to cater our Christmas party. The sides of green beans and potatoes were great but that's where it ends. The tri trip was unfortunately the toughest I've ever eaten and most of the staff couldn't eat it and the stuffed pork tenderloin was ok. We had 100 guests and it was an overwhelming vote not to have them come back for any events. Also, I asked for salmon and somehow that was miscommunicated and replaced completely by pork tenderloin so the 50 employees that requested salmon were upset. I brought this up to the manager who was overseeing the event and he said it was my fault. He didn't offer any solutions to help resolve this even though half of the staff was asking why there wasn't salmon. Clearly I know what I ordered for my staff so this was very unsettling. Maybe this is why they insisted that I pay in full prior to the event, this was a mistake on my end. read more

I used Ashley Catering for my wedding last weekend, July 22, 2017. EVERYONE loved the food, and I had so many compliments. Philip went above and beyond to make my special day perfect with the food and beverages. We had garlic crusted prime rib, rosemary chicken, sautéed vegetables, creamy mashed potatoes, and a Cesar salad. The food was absolutely delicious. For the beverages, we had peach tea and strawberry lemonade and they were amazing too. Ashley's catering was on time, and very professional. Ashley Catering was wonderful to work with from first request for quote to our final goodbye. My organization (Riverside Co. School Board Association) just had our Annual Spring Conference. A gathering of top, community leaders and stakeholders from across two counties (appox. 140 guest). Not an easy group to impress. Philip and Ashley Caters did just that. From working with me to make the changes and adjustments needed pre-conference to the final yummy red velvet cupcake. The service was stellar, polite, quick, timely and flawless. We opted for buffet service, 140 people were served an amazing meal in approximately 25 minutes with smiles, care and style. Now the food: roast beef, rosemary chicken, roasted red potatoes, summer veggies, Auju pear salad, strawberry lemonade, raspberry iced tea, finished with assorted cupcakes and coffee. This listing does nothing to describe the meal. The beef was cooked just right, medium rare, throughout the service. The rosemary chicken was light, fresh, juicy and fork tender. The potatoes were tender yet crisp, the veggies were light, tender and bursting with flavor. The Auju pear salad tried to steal the spotlight, fresh strawberries, pears, crisp greens and lilting vinaigrette. As if that was not enough the finishing touch of mini Red Velvet, Chocolate and Lemon cupcakes served with a rich smooth coffee made for an amazing and impressive meal. Oh, how could I forget the Strawberry Lemonade and Raspberry Mint Iced Tea. I have to admit I could not stop refilling my lemonade, it is addictive! Along with all of this the cost was right on budget, with no hidden cost or fees. I can not recommend or thank Philip and Ashley Catering enough. This company is excellent in every way - from the quality of the meal, to the presentation, to the helpfulness and attitude of the staff and management. We can't tell you if the food is any good because we never got past the unprofessional Food Service Coordinator. After our first phone discussion, we were going to schedule an event with Ashley Catering. We kept calling back and leaving messages. Finally spoke to Philip again and he assured us we were set and he would email estimate. Waited over a week. Made more calls. Finally caught him and again he promised to send estimate and information that day. By next day,less than 2 weeks until our event, nothing in writing. So we scheduled another caterer. The NEXT day we got an email from Philip and he had tacked on a $250.00 charge for having less than 50 people in our party. That was never mentioned in our discussions. If he did not want to take our business, he should have just said so. We are retired Riversiders who know ALOT of people who entertain. We will certainly steer people clear of Ashley Catering. Even if we had scheduled them, I would have worried about whether they would have even shown up! read more

Sorry, not impressed. Although it was inexpensively priced, it was a fairly small, simple, office event. We found that the service and products did not meet our needs. The server was an hour and a half late, served Tang instead of orange juice, and dumped dirty, unwashed fruit into a bowl as part of the delivery of goods. It was not what I would consider catering, as all items were store bought, with little or no prepation. My staff was asked to assist in unloading and setup, and were concerned about the appearance of the inside of the delivery vehicle. The server wanted us to be done with our event early so she could come pick up the "equipment" within an hour. Upon her return, she attempted to take back un opened items that were paid for within the scope of the arrangements. A complaint, complete with pictures, was filed through our purchasing office. Instead of a refund, the owner offered a do-over. No thanks! read more
