My entire experience with this dentist office has been amazing. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. I got lost on the way to their office and she gave me guided directions on how to get there. Everyone was great. The receptionist, dental assistant, and the dentist herself. For the past 5 years, the members of our family have been patients of Dr. Harrison. We only have high recommendations for her and the team. Adjectives like: professional, warm, communicative, gentle, friendly, attentive, thorough, and caring immediately come to mind. The team's approach is to be conservative (e.g., don't remove more tooth in a filling than you need to) and proactive with a high attention to detail and prevention. I would have gladly recommended Ashley after the first two years with her - in fact I did. But since the pandemic, there seemed to be a real change in the office. I would describe the office as a "toxic workplace" at one point, though I can't speak to how it may be now. I no longer recommend her office. Her dental work is "OK" but seems a bit rushed and sometimes inappropriate. My feeling is that she is more interested in expensive cosmetic work than everyday care. She also seems to have a bias when it comes to senior citizens - based on my experience with her. read more

I had my first appointment with Dr.. Harrison yesterday and I was impressed. Honestly I have never had such a thorough exam and I have had many (in my 69 years). My wife and I moved from Santa Rosa CA in August and have been looking for another dentist as competent and up to speed as my previous dentist. We tried one of the dental practices listed on the "Best of" lists but were very dissatisfied with our experience there. I feel very lucky to have found Dr.. Harrison. She is the real deal. Her staff is competent and caring and the office is clean. Today I had my very "sensitive" teeth cleaned by Jen C. and I have to say she is the best hygienist I have ever had. She was sensitive to my wimpy teeth and my teeth have never looked whiter. In fact, I was surprised when it was over it went so quickly. (Nitrous might have helped a bit!) Dr. Harrison and her staff are friendly, down to earth, accommodating, and professional. She explains everything that she is going to do in a way that is informative without leaving you feeling like an idiot, and rapport is easily established. Dr. Harrison makes sure that you understand everything that will happen, and does not rush through appointments. I had a crown done today with Jenn's help, and the entire experience was great. The office is exceptionally clean and modern, and very comfortable. After experiencing debilitating dental pain misdiagnosed by another Chico dentist for months, I am now pain free and don't dread going in for appointments. I do agree that pricing is a bit high in comparison with other local offices, but you truly get what you pay for. The equipment is state of the art and the expertise and bedside manner of the staff more than make up for it. I'm 100% sticking with Dr. Harrison's office and encourage you to make a switch if you're not happy with your dental provider. read more

Dr. Harrison's staff rocks! My family has been going there for about a year now (and we are not easy clients). I just had a 6-month cleaning and the hygienist was top notch. She was gentle, thorough, patient and respectful, even when I told her I hadn't been flossing at all! She non-judgmentally explained what damage that had done since my last visit and what would happen if I continued in that direction. I could tell that she genuinely cared if I let things deteriorate to periodontal disease and she respectfully impressed the urgency of things. The front desk staff is amazing at trying to get every last penny out of insurance before billing us. I try to give them money and they won't take it until all avenues have been exhausted. They are completely trusting that we will pay what we owe. I've never experienced such respect and effort from a dentist office! read more

I simply can't say enough about Dr.Harrison and her amazing staff! Since my first initial visit and therefore after I have been blown away!! For one, they are up to speed with all the new gadgets in dentistry which is great! Secondly, they are extremely thorough & explain everything in great detail! For my first visit with them, they did extensive testing on the health of my teeth and then mapped out a plan for me to get them pearly whites looking their best! For my second visit I had two fillings done with Dr. Harrison and it was a breeze!! I mean, no one likes getting fillings done but honestly, it was kind of fun. Her and her assistant, Jenn, explain what they are doing the entire time which is pretty awesome. They also laughed with me at my stupid jokes - thanks girls! Ashley Harrison the dentist is quite good at her job. The Office Manager Christina is not. Specifically this last summer I had dental work I needed done and due to me having an outside insurance company (delta dental) I asked for an estimate on what portion of the procedure I would have to pay. I was told approximately 400 dollars. In a phone conversation with Christina she specifically said "Would you like me to confirm that amount?" I said yes. I never heard back from her before the date of the procedure in September. A few days after the procedure I paid my estimated fee of approx. 400 dollars. My insurance company paid off a much smaller portion of the bill than anticipated and I was saddled with an additional 266 dollar charge from Ashley Harrison DDS. When I called about the bill Christina made the statement that she can't guarantee anything and apologized for being "unclear". If it was 50 or 75 dollars I would have just paid the bill, but 266 dollars is OVER 50% of her estimate and it was post her saying she would "confirm" my portion of the bill. There was no statements made to me pre-procedure that the patient portion of the bill can vary wildly. read more

I'm a big chicken when it comes to the dentist because I have extremly sensitive teeth, not only did she explain to me why this was but made notes in my chart for future cleanings to use "sensitve" gels and warm water to make my cleanings a more pleasant experience. My new patient intake was extremely thorogh and consisted of many queries and insights that I've never had a denist take an interest in or feel the need to discuss with me. I wish I could rate her higher! I have been to some butchers here in town, and require some special handling. Dr. Harrison happily met with me before we did examination so I could meet her and some of her team, and give her some of my horrific dental history. If Dental Anxiety is a thing, I have it. I'm a victim of Manzella and Eltzroth. Dr. Harrison was extremely considerate, and did everything they could to make sure I was comfortable and treated gently and respectfully. Also very progressive.
