I had a failing crown that was only four years old and I was concerned about the decay that was developing near the exposed root. I sought an opinion from my former dental provider, as they were responsible for the decay due to poor workmanship. They denied the obvious decay, so my trust in them was broken. A few days later, Dr. Johnson evaluated the same tooth and he found significant decay beneath the crown and recommended replacing it. He took the time to explain the problem clearly and he answered all of my questions. The crown replacement went smoothly, and I was relieved to learn that the tooth could be saved without needing a root canal. I am 56 years old and still have all of my natural teeth, so preserving this tooth was very important to me. I truly believe Dr. Johnson's treatment helped prevent further damage and tooth loss. The quality of care, professionalism, and attention to detail were outstanding. I also appreciate that the office provides a five-year warranty on crowns. I would highly recommend Dr. Gary Johnson and his team to anyone looking for a skilled and trustworthy dentist in Chico.

They put you on a care plan with certain priorities as far as what you need done, with detailed explanations of quotes for pricing you know exactly what yore getting into. I'm really self conscious about the state of my teeth and the staff here has never made me feel embarrassed or ashamed about my poor dental health. I had a terrible infection that was the result of some work done by another Dr. Dr Ryan recognized that my infection wasn't responding to the antibiotic my former Dr. had prescribed and called me in on a Saturday to change my antibiotic. The infection which had been persistent went away. The first time he worked on my mouth I was shocked that I never felt the injections. After having a few procedures done I am finally trusting. He doesn't do root canals nor implants and so when I need either he sends me off to specialist in those areas. The staff at Dr. Crowson's has always been very courteous and efficient and when I go in there I almost feel like part of their family. They helped put me at ease and made me comfortable the day of my appointment and the day I returned for my new tooth. I was recommended by a bunch of teachers here in Chico and knew that they would not steer me wrong! I came in with a very bad tooth pain that lit up my entire jaw, it was so bad I didn't even know which tooth was causing it. I went to Ampla as an emergency patient and they told me to buckle up for a 6 week approval from my insurance. When I contact Chico Dental and told them what was going on and I wasn't an established patient (but was interested in becoming one) they got me in the same week and got my work done a couple days later. Thank you!!! Again I'm so grateful and want to say thank you for getting me in and taken care of under the circumstance.
