Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. Avoid this hotel at all costs. This was, without question, the worst hotel experience I have ever had. After a full day of traveling with my family, we arrived at the hotel only to be told that our room had been given away because I supposedly failed to confirm my reservation by 6:00 p.m. The problem? We were on a plane. The hotel claimed they had contacted me through Expedia. That is simply not true. I checked every email and every message in the Expedia app. The only message I ever received was the booking confirmation and a welcome message saying they couldn't wait to host us. At no point was I ever informed that I had to confirm my reservation or risk losing the room I had already booked. Who gives away a family's room while they're literally traveling to the hotel? Instead of taking responsibility, they blamed Expedia and left us scrambling to find somewhere else to stay after an exhausting day of travel. It was stressful, frustrating, and completely avoidable. To make matters worse, the property did not feel secure. There was no staff member at the front desk when we arrived. Instead, guests are expected to retrieve their room keys from a lockbox/safe. There is no real check-in process, and anyone can walk right into the building. Traveling with family, that was incredibly concerning and did not inspire confidence in the safety or security of the property. This hotel failed to honor a legitimate reservation, failed to communicate an alleged confirmation requirement, and failed to provide the level of service and security that any traveler should reasonably expect. I would never stay here again, and I strongly encourage others to book somewhere else. If a hotel can give away your reserved room while you're in the air and leave you without a place to stay, they simply cannot be trusted. read more

The grounds were great and the pool was beautiful but a housekeeper stole my cancer meds which the hotel manager had to replace and right before I left the assistant manager indie told me I wasn't allowed to talk to housekeepers when I'm always nice to everyone it truly seemed like they were trying to set me up for what reason I don't know read more

I missed this hotel when initially researching in the Florence area. It was when I looked at the Ark Encounter / Creation Museum hotel partners on their website that I learned about where to stay while planning to visit them. The listed prices were the same as using another hotel website. I checked in early but did not know about the late check-in process as they do not have someone manning check-in 24 hours. It is individually owned so more focused on pleasing the guests. My stay was not perfect, but the employees went above to resolve the problems satisfactorily. For example, I could only get one TV station until it was reset appropriately. My studio room contents were mostly clean except mainly for some of the cabinet's dirty dishes, which I could see from the floor but too high to reach all of them; I did not inform the staff of the situation as I would have washed them before using anyway (because of Covid) with their supplied kitchen supplies. I liked the glass door for the shower in my studio room. I felt that the bathroom was a little small. The hotel could use a refreshing look with paint, but their holiday décor made it better. It was great to use their real silverware for cutting their fresh Gala apple and orange provided in their lobby's breakfast area. I was pleasantly surprised that they provided in my room and in the breakfast area organic green tea. For continental breakfast, they also provided different kinds of processed grab-and-go food; I mentioned my limited diet of no pork (as they had various shapes of sausage products) and of little salt and sugar; the attendant was willing to consider better options in the future. Apparently, microwave popcorn should have been supplied in my studio room so it was greatly corrected. I was informed, but not staying on Wednesday, that the hotel provides a variety of pizzas from Papa John on those days. A guest across from my room was loud as she yelled to her companion. So beware that the TV in your room, etc. can be heard from outside the room, but I could not hear others' noise while in my room. This hotel was centrally located around chained restaurants (with healthier First Watch and Cheddar's nearby), entertainment, shopping, and church. I recommend this hotel and would visit again if staying overnight. read more

We booked this hotel because it had a suite. We arrived after hours, which is 8PM!!! so had to do self check?? Never heard of such a thing. Right there I knew we were in trouble. Then you have to walk up a flight of stairs to a lobby that's a throwback to the 70's. Once we got the room key we headed down the dingy hallway to our room. We walked in and I told my husband and son we are not staying. The place was gross. It wasn't even hot outside yet the room was moist and humid. Dirty brown carpet, crappy beds and the pullout was probably 100 years old. I would never have been able to sleep there. Never even looked at the bathroom, because there was no way I was staying. Took a short drive to the Drury, which we have stayed at many times and thought we would just have to settle for a regular hotel room (which are always extremely nice). When we got there we were upgraded (without even asking) to a suite, which I wasn't even aware that they had and it all cost us just $10 more than we paid at Ashley Quarters. We ate the money that we paid at Ashley Quarters and I have no regrets about doing so. It was well worth it, because that place is a dump. Do not believe all of those 4 and 5 star reviews. They must be friends and family leaving those reviews. Would have give 0 stars if that was an option. read more

Very good price for the Cincinnati/Covington/Florence area. It seems to be set up more for long term stays and with the office hours and actual office rather than counter, it felt more like a short term apartment, along the vein of Extended Stay America. It seemed to be the same class of hotel. They do offer breakfast, largely grab and go items, but still very good for the price. The layout of the place is super unique, but I think this adds to the character. The place isn't super close to any sights, but it is convenient to one of the interstates. At this price point, it's worth the extra drive. read more

As soon as we stepped in it smelled like nastiest rotten egg smell ever. Walking down either hallways had its own smell too, from curry to a stench of the bathroom. Arriving in our room, it smelled like Ashley was up all day cooking dump for breakfast lunch and dinner. Another room that we had booked for our friends smelled better but also had its smells. Going to the bathroom was alright, other than the fact that I could not find the toilet paper for the life of me! On the wall? Nope. Behind the 4 towels on the wall? Also no. Under the sink? Yep. Hidden under the sink. Who is ever going to find that Ashley?? Maybe the pool will make up for it...NOPE. The pool looks 5 times smaller in real life than it does in the pictures. Finally as night rolls around, I go to get in my pullout bed and almost break my back on a metal bar in the dead center of the bed. I think sleeping on stairs would be more flat than that bed. As I lay down for the 2nd time, my bed feels a lil too cold, oh never mind it's just a lil damp and soggy. Couldn't even sleep cause of a cookout happening right outside my room at 11 pm when I NEED to wake up at 4:00 AM! Oh but let's not forget the 4 bugs we found within 10 seconds... right next to my bed with his buddy, Adam and Bill. So maybe if you want to have a not so nice memory come here, but you probably won't even remember due to you getting no sleep that night. Do not sleep in room 122. read more

I must say that I had some minor reservations because of certain reviews and also because I've never had a really late check-in especially at a hotel with no night attendant. My "late" check-in process was simple and quick! My room was clean and even though it was obvious the room used to allow smoking it wasn't bad. The kitchenette was nice with plenty of utensils. There is no daily housekeeping which I liked not having to put up a do not disturb sign. Will stay again!! read more

What a refreshing place to stay. We arrived late, but were given instructions for check-in which was easy. If we messed up there is a contact number, so that was nice. Nice breakfast spread. Wish we had made it earlier to hang out at the pool. If we get back that way, we will stay again. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean and our room was perfect for two. Me and My cousins were attending the Cincinnati Music Fest. So, one of my cousins found this hotel while looking online. The pics online were very nice and had a 4 Star Rating. That was right up our alley to stay someplace with a nice review. 2 Queen beds and a let out couch with a nice spacious kitchen, outside pool area and work out room. Hotel was super quiet. Upon arrival our room was nice and clean. Now here is where it went left and my feelings change about this hotel. First night after we came back from dinner I noticed a black bug crawling on the room. No Biggie it was just a harmless little bug. The next morning we had requested for room service to bring us more towels. We went out to breakfast and did some shopping came back the room was never tidy and our towels were never delivered. Now that's a problem when you have 5 ladies in one room. We had to literally walk over to the front service desk to get our towels. Second night after we came back from the concert it was late and we were exhausted. Everyone was waiting to take their showers and call it a night. One of my cousins pulled back the covers to get into bed and there was a another bug just crawling in the bed. Yucky. I'm not a Big Fan of anything crawling especially in my bed. That just took the cake for me. Before we checked out the next morning we were all checking our bags for bugs. Thank Goodness we did in one of ours bags there was again another black bug crawling around. I'm getting chills just writing this review. Not a bad hotel just need to make sure that it is bug free and that it's fully inspected before allowing guest to stay in a bug infested room. I found this quaint place on Expedia after planning an impromptu last minute weekend getaway. I first checked air bnb but found Expedia was way cheaper this time. I looked on Yelp and was pleased with what others had to say about this local place. I'm a fan of visiting places that aren't in a chain so this was right up our alley. The location was convenient for a day spent at the Creation Museum/Ark Encounter (bucket list items for forever!). There's also a lot of shopping and food options nearby, even within walking distance on a nice day. When I checked in, there was an older woman at the front desk who just needed me to sign a couple of items (I had pre-paid with Expedia because it said I had to check in by 8pm or I may be locked out and have to use a lock box, I didn't want that hassle along with trying to figure out how to pay). The only thing I didn't like when checking in was that I had to sign that I agreed to the rate when the rate area was blank. I don't think someone would write in a crazy high rate but they certainly could with it being blank. The woman was a little annoyed at my concern on this but my husband encouraged me to let it go since I wasn't giving them a card to hold on file. The place is like an older large home. I felt like we were at a grandparent's place - it was cozy. Our room was a decent size. Since we were only staying one night, I got the smaller of the two options with a king bed but it still had a full kitchen, full size fridge, dresser, closet, nice bathroom. I wish each side of the bed had a night stand but that's a minor thing. There was a little tv with a lot of channels and free wifi. The best was not the comfiest, more on the firm side with springs. It seemed clean so that was reassuring. It was quiet at night, despite being close to a busy road. The next morning, we went up for continental breakfast. They had activia yogurt, cereal, milk, juice, and packaged items like donuts, pop tarts, muffins. Not a total breakfast, more like free snacks. Checkout was fine, I just dropped the keys with the same woman and left. Overall, I'd recommend this place, as well as Gabe's right behind it for some shopping. read more

What a wonderful place to have a rest and recover while on the road! The hotel was a quick convenient drive to the venue we played at in Newport KY that night. It was also in a great spot close to a lot of stores, and restaurants to grab a bite to eat or pick up any needed essentials. The hotel staff was very welcoming and friendly to our group and helped us with anything we needed during our stay. The rooms are the size of a small apartment with a living room, full kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. If you were staying a long time it would be very convenient to be able to cook your own meals here. They do offer a free breakfast that will give you a good start to the day. There's a fitness room that you can get a good workout in too. Really the hotel has everything you need for a short or a long stay! We stayed three nights at the Ashley Quarters in Florence, Kentucky last week. We had stayed there before several years ago. Unfortunately, the place has gone downhill. The carpet in our room was old and unraveling near the kitchen. Even though there was a sign in the room to hang up the towels you planned to use again, leaving the others on the floor I guess, no one ever replaced our towels in the three days. When leaving I saw one sign next to the exit door that stated we needed to contact them if we want more linens. Shouldn't this have been posted in the room? Their website stated they have a fitness center; it is also listed on the map of the hotel in the room. If there was a fitness center it was well hidden. I went through the hotel looking for it and never found it. The last time we stayed at the Ashley Quarters their complimentary breakfast offered hot food. Not this time. Everything was pre-packaged. Except the milk, which was in an open pitcher in the small fridge, and the cold cereal which were in dispensers. I will say the employees seemed friendly. It is not their fault that the place is not what it used to be. read more

PASS GO AND DO NOT COLLECT $200. This place was bad from the start. Our first room was on the lower level and had a very moist smell. The bed felt like the pull out beds some hotels have. The room also had mold in the bathroom and I literally heard the manager tell the maintenance guy to basically paint over it so they could resell the room because they were at capacity. The room we got switched too was no better but instead of a moist smell the A/C didn't work. read more

On September 21st, I checked in around 4 p.m. My key worked, and I brought my belongings to my room. I left for a business meeting. When I arrived back around 9:30, my card key got me into the building but not into my room. I went to the front desk, and no one was there. They had closed for the evening. I called the helpline to access someone who could recharge my card. No one answered the phone. I called until 2:30 in the morning, but no one answered. I ended up having to sleep in my van. At 6:30 a.m., a woman, Indy, started setting up breakfast. I asked her if she could help, and she did. I told her what had happened. She said that was rare, and she said that she would let the manager, Michelle, know. Indy took the note that I had written to the manager. Indy tried to blame me for the cards going dead. Regardless of the cards going dead, there should be someone who can help in that situation. Upon looking at my account, Michelle checked me into one room but then changed my room without my knowledge. The room was 109, and she changed it to 210 sometime during the afternoon without my knowledge. She also said that she had refunded my stay. I have yet to hear from the manager or receive a refund. read more

Great experience at Ashley Quarters! This establishment has a very home grown vibe that we really enjoyed. The room was spacious, with comfortable living area and a full kitchen. The large screen HDTV with Direct TV was a bonus! We didn't get a chance to use the DVD player in our room but there was an amazing library of movies to choose from in the lobby. The bathroom has newly refurbished modern feel and the shower has great water pressure and fancy shower head. Great outdoor seating area with access to a barbecue/grill. Staff was friendly and thoughtful. We'll definitely come back next time we're passing through! read more

Stayed the night here on our way south. Room was adequate, carpet could have used a shampoo, bathroom very clean, shower awesome (rain shower head), hot water. Bed was comfy, however, the pillows were big and round and stayed that way even when you put your head on them, not comfortable. No hangers in closet. Slept until around 4 am when the dog in the next room started barking non-stop until 6:30 am. Front desk was not helpful, they knew that dog was a problem because he said so. Offered no solution. Breakfast was just okay, lady there was nice. read more

I stayed at Ashley Quarters Hotel a few days ago while on tour with my band. It's essentially a whole apartment! Full kitchen with table, two beds (really comfortable), a pull out couch, and a nice, modern bathroom. It was very comfortable for the 4 of us! They had an outdoor pool, which looked really nice, I wish we had the time to actually go swimming! They also had a great DVD collection available to borrow at no cost in the lobby area (which was more like a living room). If you're traveling through the Northern KY, greater Cincinnati area, I highly recommended staying at the Ashley Quarters hotel in conveniently located Florence KY. They were very accommodating to my after hours check in with a lock box with my key and check in information. I was in my clean and comfortable room in minuets from pulling into the parking lot. The double queen room was spacious and equipped with a clean kitchen and living room area. It felt like a little cozy apartment right off the interstate. Every interaction with hotel staff was kind and courteous and accommodating. The breakfast and lounge area was very inviting as well. This place was great. Very easy to find, not far from the highway, and with a fair amount of dining options nearby. I got in rather late, and they had my key waiting for me... very easy. The room was great... nice comfy king sized bed, and a full kitchen (not just a little fridge and microwave... but a larger fridge/freezer and an oven/stove (plus a microwave). The lady at the front desk at checkout was very friendly. Sadly I missed the breakfast spread (I slept in), but everything else was very nice, so I'm sure it was as well). read more

I stayed with my family of 7 in two connecting rooms. I saw no bed bugs. But my daughter did wake up with two bites from something. Could been mosquito for all I know. Uncomfortable beds for sure. Pillows were horrible. But the worst part was the moldy mildew smell in our room. We were on the first floor which is partly underground. Had to go to store and buy a diffuser so I could sleep. Also staff was quite lazy and unmotivated. And they leave at 8:00. So if you have an issue you have to call the front desk and leave a message. Then you wait for the guy who lives upstairs to take care of it. Annoying. This is a great place if you have a big family. We had a king size bed in one room with a pull out sofa and a full kitchen. The connecting room and have a double bed with a kitchen as well. The best part is having two bathrooms for large family. I won't go again simply because The discomfort and the mildew smell. read more

The Spacious rooms made me feel at home. Located right off the highway next to Target, and plenty of restaurants was ideal for my stay. Even being next to the highway it was peaceful with no noise pollution to disturb my slumber. If you're ever in Florence, I recommend you stay at this hotel. read more

Bed bugs were crawling all over the sheets, I immediately called front desk who asked me what they looked like. I said they look like bed bugs and wanted a full refund and to leave. She said "seriously?" ...yep! The check in process was less than convenient as some digital lockbox has your key at the front entrance but we weren't able to open it after following the instructions exactly as written. The staff person didn't put up a fight when I asked to leave. Luckily we booked through Expedia who were extremely helpful in getting us a full refund, a $50 coupon for another stay and even booked another hotel over the phone. Obviously, I would avoid this hotel at all costs. And if you do stay, bring some Benadryl for your bed bug bites. read more

I stayed here from February till may 15th spent about 10,000 dollars. They were late for breakfast many days sometimes over an hour. They cleaned my room 3 times in 4 months and then charged me 200 dollars to clean on my credit card after I left with no phone calls. Very dissapointing. Check your bills. I left some food in the refrigerator that I told them they could keep and they said at check out that would be fine, then charged me 200 the next day. Be careful staying here!!! 1star read more

This place has a condo-feel to it. The lady had my key waiting, and ready to go the second I walked in. Unfort for me, I threw my back-out the next morning, due to the firmness of the mattress. It's happened before-the lady on duty gave me a few ibuprofen which probably saved me from having to call an ambulance. Room was clean, and comfy, and I liked the walk-in shower. read more

The Ashley Quarters Hotel on Houston Road in Florence was a quiet restful stop for the night. The room was suite style with a kitchen and couch lounging area. Bathroom was clean and had modern fixtures. Good water temperature and pressure. They provided Makeup remover wipes and plenty of soft towels. There was even DVD loans in the lobby. The pool and gym are small but adequate. Breakfast was typical packaged hotel continental breakfast, but you can plan ahead and make your own meals in your own kitchen there. read more

This hotel exceeded my expectations in every respect. Our rooms were spacious, huge suites. I had a whole band with me -- 5 people, adults. There was a pull out couch, full kitchen, two huge beds, etc. In the back there's a pool area and back patio with a grill. Everything is clean, pristine. They gave us a late check out. An older property but well-cared for. Clean, recently renovated rooms. Friendly and helpful owners. Easy on and off interstate, plenty of parking near rooms. Nice little pool and covered patio area with grill . Rooms are all kitchenettes so if you want to save a few bucks on restaurants, you can. Decent brunch stuff available in lobby but nothing special.
