I strongly advise anyone to never, ever buy furniture from any Ashley store. We bought a sofa here and after only three months of use the support piece under the cushions was completely broken. After dozens of calls between the store and corporate, where no one seemed to want to help us, a technician was finally sent out to repair it. Only six months later now the front support piece is broken and they are refusing the do anything to fix the couch that has now broken twice in less than a year of owning it. The customer service has been terrible. We paid over $1,000 for a couch that has broken twice in under a year and we plan on throwing out. Do not waste your money here. read more

I purchased a queen-size memory foam mattress from Ashley in Gaithersburg Maryland, it was the worst purchase I ever made. HORRIBLE. Ordered my furniture April of 2021 and told I would have it by first week of June 2021, then told July, then told August, then September, then finally delivered November 16th. In the middle of all of those promises, I was told several times they were waiting for one more piece to come in, that piece would arrive but then they would have sold my other pieces by then and so on. Managers inlcude Justin and Raheem, but there were others. DOESN'T STOP THERE: The sofa set came with broken LED cup holder lights. Total run around getting that fixed. BUT WORSE, on November 16 they damaged my wall upon delivery, still getting the run around, and the installers didn't connect the adjustable base wires, still getting the run around. We visited this store a few times and had the pleasure of working with Hajo. We went in to window shopping and we were told by several different employees that there was a sale on the listed price. Not sure why they would not change price tags for different sales, but okay save the environment and paper. We shopped around and got some ideas. We went back about a month later after looking at their online sales. We worked with Hajo again this time we found what we wanted and asked about the online price since it was about $500.00 less. We were informed that they price match their online price! Woo hoo. Ask and you shall receive. What a nice surprise. She is very friendly and she knows her furniture. Update 3/28: Today Ashley Furniture called to inform me that they would NOT cover the pilling under their "warranty" by sending me replacement covers. A week ago, they told me replacement covers were on their way to me in the mail. They even called to ask me if I received them. Lies, lies, lies. The representative who called today tried to tell me that pilling wasn't covered because my couch is like a sweater. Well, no, honey. It isn't. When I spend $2000 on something of any kind, I expect it to last YEARS longer than a $15 item from Target. So, no, these things do not equate. However, this does tell me that Ashley Furniture admits their fabric shouldn't be expected to last longer than the fabric of an ordinary sweater. Anyway, I lost my patience and just hung up on her. Then she called me and told me I was rude for hanging up on her. And then she hung up on me. Are these people for real? I feel like I'm living in the twilight zone right now. Regardless, my sofa looks like I found it behind a dumpster and it's only 4 months old, and Ashley Furniture refuses to do anything to correct it. You will notice that Ashley Furniture responded below. Well, when I emailed them telling them the lady who was supposed to get in touch with me yesterday never called back (in addition to a laundry list of other things), they included in their email "we see you spoke to Shelby yesterday." I never said I didn't speak to Shelby yesterday. I said she didn't call me back. There was no follow-up. These people need to learn to read. Maybe there are still seats available at Derek Zoolander's school for ants .... *** My $1880 sectional is defective and Ashley won't even come out to look at it. The cushions slide out after sitting on it for 10 minutes. I have to pause shows multiple times to get up and push the cushions back in. We have had this piece of garbage for two weeks (only started using it 1 week ago) and I am livid. We are a military family and don't have money to spend wildly, we have a tight budget and wanted a nice couch that would last a long time. Instead we got this. I might as well have purchased a used couch off of Craigslist. This isn't right, and Ashley is a terrible company. Do not buy anything from them. You will regret it. We were in need of a good sectional (plus tables) for our living room. We also wanted a new better guest bed. We wandered to Ashley's. We found the couch we really wanted. It was one of those while shopping online my wife found it, we went to the store and unlike most sectionals, it actually looked as good in the store as the professional photo did online. The team was helpful. I took one star because frankly, the manager tried an upsell at the last minute (I hate that) so they lost a star. We had the furniture delivered, the team was prompt, very polite, and most critically they removed all the trash. They were extremely careful of our wood floors (laid down carpet sections to avoid scratching the wood). Really good furniture store. We ended up going back a month later to replace two more end tables based on the quality of the first experience! read more

We purchased our couch with Day, who was fantastic! We also love our couch, although it did come stained. With that said, between the extended delayed timeframe (4 months), no communication regarding the delay we had to call and inquire, told different delivery dates on every interaction, coupled with very poor management both in store and regionally, it is a hassle and I would not recommend purchasing from this specific store. Further, we went into the store once our couch was delivered, per policy, so the manager of the store could take a photo on his phone of our invoice to then email his regional counterpart to be considered for compensation. The manager never followed through, it had been a week, we called back, the manager placed blame on all of his staff and placed me on an extended hold so he could talk on the phone with his regional manager and yield an answer. Legitimately, the worst buying experience I have ever had. The In-store purchasing was fine. Nothing special. But since then, we have been continuously lied to about when our furniture would be arriving. We are now on week 7 and still being told it will arrive to warehouse "this week." I. Still. Do. Not. Have. My. Furniture. Three weeks before, I was told it would be there by the tenth of this month...no call, no message, nothing. Effective communication really isn't that difficult but the laziness and lack of help that has been exhibited at this location is bar-none. Recently went to Ashley's Furniture to purchase a Nightstand for my sons bedroom. I already found exactly what I wanted to purchase online; however, the price online had a shipping cost of almost the same amount of money it cost for the actual Nightstand. When I went into the store to order the Nightstand (mind you I tried to order over the phone, but they stated the purchase had to be handled inside of the store), I met a Salesman named Ish. He was a great guy who was extremely helpful in helping me place my order. The process to order was very easy & everyone in the store was extremely pleasant & humorous. Even the Sales Manager was a breath of fresh air. I will advise the shipping times were a bit much (8 to 12 weeks), but I am not pressed for it to arrive at this exact moment so I will wait it out. We purchased a sofa & werent able to have an immediate delivery-we were told there wasnt a time limit- but they sold ours, never told us, & then it was backordered.I was told to speak with Rohin, GM, & that he would call me.He never called, so I had to call again & schedule my delivery.I took off work, only to discover it was damaged.The upholstery is not taught, the framing is lumpy, there's alignment & cushion issues.I contacted Ashley immediately & spoke w/Rohin.He asked me to send pictures,which I did- he promised to look into a refund & submit a ticket for repair, which he never did-I never heard back.After 6 weeks of no contact despite my attempts, I filed a BBB Claim-it was only then that I received contact about scheduling the repair-a month later! I took off work again, & they canceled the morning of the appt- it took another month to reschedule. I took off of work again, & they called again that morning to cancel-I pushed back & they agreed to send me someone that afternoon-who said the entire sofa was damaged so they would replace it.When it arrived, it was also damaged- they said "all of the sofas are damaged like that."I declined the delivery.They suggested I call Ashley for a refund-I spoke with Joe,the GM,who promised a full refund for my troubles if I came into the store.When I arrived, he reneged on his promise & told me that I would need to return the sofa for a refund.This was not part of the terms of our agreement.When I questioned this, Joe was sarcastic, & condescending.He claimed to have left me a VM that day to tell me-I did not receive a VM & also questioned the need for one unless he was reneging.I wouldn't have driven 1 hour each way. I have to say, I was extremely nervous about ordering from Ashley after reading these reviews. I ordered before seeing all the 1 star reviews and complaints. Thankfully, I had a great experience. Dory was amazing at the store and helped us find everything we needed. He was patient and not pushy at all. We ordered on February 19. Some items were on order and expected on March 13. I received a call a week later on February 26th that our items were already ready for delivery. Everything was delivered this week in perfect condition. The delivery men were awesome and delivered and set everything up carefully. They were patient and placed everything with care and consideration. I haven't had the furniture long enough to review quality yet, but so far so good. read more

Should have yelped this store before making a purchase. Had the worst experience ever. We order a sectional from here and the piece was delivered and the springs on the chase didn't look right as soon as it came. The delivery person said it is because the piece is new and will be fine once we use it a bit and left. Within minutes of sitting on it, there a squeaky noise and the bottom of the chase is all ripped and the springs are out. There are also a couple of screws and nuts that fell off the sofa. Within 30 mins of delivery, we complained about the sectional to the store. It had been 2 weeks and still no proper response from the store. We keep calling/visiting the store but looks like they just don't care. Bought furniture from other stores like Value City, Bob's furniture and never had any issues with customer service. This store is by far the worst with customer service. They are always too busy to respond or will always tell you that they will get back to you within an hour and totally not do it. Be prepared to at least call them 5 times to have anyone respond to you properly. We unfortunately also took a warranty on the sectional but if they cant fix an issue that happened immediately after delivery, I hardly doubt if the 5 yr warranty is of any use. Rohim has no sense of customer service. No wonder this store has 2 stars and zero customers. They say they will price match you but rather they increase the price by 110%. I found the exact same bedroom set for $1400 and he was giving me a quote for $2700. He told me I was not allowed to take the quote with me. This was per company policy. How? How is this store still in business. The same with the actual couches which are priced at $920 yet you can find them online for around $350. The salesperson was Ish and he did a great job explaining all the fine details of the product and was gave us great recommendations that fit our need while his manager Justine was a great at providing us extra discount. We bought an outdoor furniture set from Ashley Furniture a little over a year ago. We like the set...comfortable and looks great on the deck. Unfortunately we had a raccoon that decided to make a home in the furniture one weekend. He also unfortunately dug into the furniture and ripped up two of the big cushions. We contacted Ashley furniture and asked how to replace two cushions. They said they would find out and contact me back. Two weeks later I was driving by the store and asked to find out what they found. They said they were planning on calling us...When???...I have no idea. So they tell us we can order them and they will contact us when the are in. We paid for them ($150) and left the store. Another two weeks went by and we haven't heard anything. My wife decides to call and find out if they are in. The gentleman tells us that the corporate office said they are not allowed to sell the cushions separately. He said that someone should have contacted us...they didn't!!! Wait, you took our money and said they were ordered, and then never called to tell us they couldn't do that???? That is really poor customer service and even poorer company policy to not sell the cushions. Guess they want me to buy another $1500 patio set...NOT. I heard about Ashley HomeStore through the ads that come with the local newspaper. They had pretty decent sale deals, so I went to check them out this past weekend. I was looking for a dinning room set table. After walking around the first and second floor I came across a dinning room set table that was perfect for me. Employees at Ashley HomeStore are friendly and courteous. I had 2 employees ask if I needed anything. At the time, I didn't. Later Cory started assisting me. He was polite, a good listener, and exceed my expectations of a sales person. I placed my order with no trouble, and delivery time was less then a week for me because they had my table set in stock. The manager on duty that day was super helpful too as he gave me a discount on my delivery fee (originally $100). Terrible experience. I was told I would not need a box spring for the bed frame I purchased, but I definitely do. I was also under the impression the the bed I purchased had two sets of drawers. The whole point of me getting this bed was to have two sets of drawers. It in fact does not have two sets of drawers, and I was offered to purchase an extra drawer set for 200+ dollars. I am so very disappointed with the customer service provided to me by Ashley Furniture. I had a great experience when I was purchasing my furniture the sales people were incredibly helpful and friendly. However it's been eight weeks and I still have not received my furniture. I was originally told that delivery will take place between 2 to 6 weeks and that I would "most likely" receive my furniture within three weeks. After two month have come and gone. I am now being told by the company that I will not get my furniture for another week, and this Thursday is Thanksgiving. I asked to speak to a manager and while I was upset and disappointed before, after speaking with this manager I was incredibly insulted. This sales manager called me back from the store and was incredibly rude and condescending with me. He would not take any responsibility for the company's mistake, he spoke to me like I was a child and did not show any empathy at all. I am extremely disappointed in how they handled this. The staff showed utter disregard for the customer, and have completely soured the reputation of this company in my mind forever. I am disappointed that I need to write this review, but I have not yet reached a satisfactory outcome with Ashley Furniture. I purchased an entertainment center in the middle of March. The salesperson told us we would receive our item in 3 weeks, but could be anywhere between 2-6 weeks. We are past 6 weeks, and no contact from Ashley. We had to call them to get updates, and we've been informed that our order may now arrive at the distribution center 8.5 weeks after our purchase date, with extra time needed to get to my house. I had to pay a delivery fee because they would not let me pick the item up from the store. Even though they have not delivered in the time frame, they won't refund the delivery fee. I find this especially egregious when an additional delivery fee was REQUIRED, over and above the purchase price of the furniture, for a delivery that has not happened. At this time, they have not honored a request to cancel the order and for issue of a refund. They told me they will only cancel my order in person. The closest store is a 30 min drive, and having to drive for an hour to cancel this stupid order in person is a waste of time. The terms written on the sales receipt say nothing about requiring in person cancellations, so I suspect this is to discourage me from doing cancelling. I do wish to say that compared to other furniture retailers, I found the in store sales staff to be knowledgeable, polite and helpful. If this review were of them, the tone would be extremely different. However, at the end of the day, the company is selling merchandise. Until that merchandise has been delivered, all they have done is take my money in apparently bad faith. read more
