I've shopped at Ashley's for years. Half the furniture in my house is from them. It's decent priced and holds up great. Which is why Ashley's is one of the first places I went when looking at getting a new mattress as well as a new bedroom set. After shopping around at several stores, I decided on the set from Ashley's. Originally I had looked at the Bolingbrook store and had a great experience. When i was ready to purchase, I went to the Joliet store as it's closer to my house. I picked out the mattress and bedroom set... everything was going fine.. until the lady came back with the broken down prices and the financing options. I saw there was a $998 charge on there. I inquire and she said it's the warranty. Oh ok well I don't do warranties to please remove it. FOR THE FIRST TIME LITERALLY EVER I was told "oh no, we can't remove the warranty. You have to get it when financing for 36 months." I'm sorry WHAT?! So I asked to speak with her manager who told me the same. I asked for their reasoning.. she goes "well if you're still making payments on it and something breaks, we need you covered." I laughed and asked how this was any different than my mortgage payment or car payment. Something breaks ok it's on me. She gave me a blank stare. By then I had been arguing with them for a solid 20 minutes and was about to walk out of the store. Magically, they were able to remove it after all. I've never had a bad experience anywhere as I did that night in the Joliet store. Shame on you for trying to lie to customers into getting your warranties. Not cool. read more

PEOPLE...PLEASE...PLEASE DO AT LEAST 2 THINGS. FIRST ONE, READ ALL OF THIS. SECONDLY, DO NOT...DO NOT EVER SHOP HERE. Back in 2020, I had ordered the North Shore King size bed, a chest and nightstand all for my new bedroom set. It was a nightmare with the bed. Pieces will show up damaged or just the wrong piece. After months of this, I finally get all of the bed pieces. I was told that they would put it together, NOPE. They had said, we don't do that and left. Fine, my buddy and I put it together. It was a freaking nightmare. BUT, if I didn't call or get anything fixed to my existing furniture for 5 years, I would have a $500 off my next order. My fiancé and I moved into a farmhouse and we saw a chest and 2 bar stools totaling $623. The sales rep Omar says to me, "All you owe is a balance of $123. Allow 3 weeks for a notification that your order is on the way to your pick up place or it is alrady there." They will not deliver to where I live. Which is fine, I would be more than happy to pick up my furntiture. He asked if I would pay the difference now. I said no, when the order comes in, I will. (Thank GOD I did just that it.) Three weeks and some change has passed as of yesterday. First of all, and I am shaking my head, you cannot...I repeat...CANNOT call the store directly. Your calls go to a call center. I spoke to a guy in the early morning...he says to me, it is only 9:45...store doesn't open yet. Please call back. SO I am thinking this is an answering service. I call at 11 AM, He proceeds to tell me that there is no order in my name and phone number. I got Omars business card when I was there, remembering how you cannot get ahold of anyone. I tried his cell number and it goes straight to voice mail. I called 3 times yesterday, a few hours after each time. I left a voicemail each time and never heard back from him. Now if I had paid????? I will have lost my $123.00. They will not honor that $500 and chose to "ghost" me. Honestly, its all my fault. I should have never stepped back in there. This is the store by the Louis Joliet Mall. You know what??? As I am typing this, I am going to call that cell number for Omar Shatat one more time. Calling from a different number, just in case. BRB. NOPE...straight to voice mail. Horribly unprofessional. I purchased furniture from this store and purchased the "protection plan." I call the protection plan people, get nowhere. I call the Ashley store in Joliet and request a refund for the protection plan. I am told someone will call me back. They never do. I get a hold of "Doug" who is a sales manager. Horribly unprofessional... won't even give out his last name. I ask who is the store manager. He won't even give me that individual's name. So here I am with broken furniture and Ashley furniture won't hold up their end of the deal by repairing the furniture. All I want is a refund for the "protection plan" and I will fix the furniture myself. I will never buy from Ashley furniture again over $280 of a scam "protection plan." UPDATE: -I don't know who "db" is, but here is the update. Everyone can see the game going on here. I have already reached out to the "protection plan" people and Ashley furniture three times, but you want me to provide my information yet again. The worst service ever. I bought a new sectional in November. They rescheduled the delivery four times finally got it in January. One of the recliners is broken. I went to the store in Joliet, Illinois. I emailed the CEO Todd Wanek and In the senior vice president, Kurt Haines. no response from either. I now understand why the local leadership has no desire for customer service as the executive leadership team has no desire to service their customers either. No, I would never ever recommend this store to anyone. The only reason I gave it. One star is because I had to give it a star. It doesn't deserve that the customer service suck at least the peoples upfront sitting behind the desk a group of young peoples laughing on the phone, not knowledgeable or helpful at all my couch couldn't fit in my house OK so I ordered another one. It took forever coming, but the delivery guys did a great job in and out but as far as me calling someone at the store, I never got an answer. The only way I would get an answer is if I had to go to the store myself And I shouldn't have to to and during the time I was waiting for my sofa to be delivered. Total disaster all around. Sales people don't know what's going on with delivery and the delivery warehouse can't keep to a schedule. It's literally been several months of trying to coordinate a delivery. They keep confirming, canceling, rescheduling, confirming, canceling, rescheduling, confirming, canceling...I forget where we're at now... oh yeah, I have no furniture!! Update: delivery was made finally. Upped my rating to two stars because we like the product. I purchased a recliner and waited 6 weeks for delivery. The chair was delivered defective and I called immediately to report it. I waited another 6 weeks for a replacement. The replacement was also defective, in fact it looks exactly like the first chair did and has the same defects. One arm is not fully stuffed and has a large place with no stuffing. The foot rest does not lock in when I push the lever so I can get out of the chair. That is very dangerous and can rise up and cause a person to fall. When reclining the back does not fully recline. When I reported the defects to the store I was told they would send a repairman to my home to fix it. Oh yes, I must wait again for the parts and let them REPAIR IT IN MY HOME!!! No stars read more

His name is Greg and we completely felt pushed and shamed that we left to another store to buy the mattress. When we finally got our delivery date, the night before we got rid of all of our old furniture, on delivery day the driver showed up text they were there, took pictures of our house, signed my husband's name to the sheet and sent a text our furniture was delivered. Never even rang our doorbell. After spending a long time on phone with multiple people, no one could help us or contact the driver to ask what was going on. They gave us a new delivery date a week out, so I guess for a week we will have to eat our meals on the kitchen floor. No one is willing to do anything helpful. The worst delivery service I've ever experienced. Three deliveries, all horrible! The second and third delivery were the most notable. I received a text confirming my delivery that read " if this date doesn't work, call us". Well, since that date and time worked, I didn't call. On that date, no delivery and I was told I had to call them to confirm. So after explaining what "if" meant, I received a $25 discount. Third delivery, my delivery day was a Sunday evening. In which, I confirmed with a reply text. On Sunday, they called me and said that evening time window was wrong and they would be at my home between 9 am and noon. No, ma'am, I'M AT CHURCH!!!! After waiting for a month for this delivery, I told them rescheduling to another day is unacceptable. They assured me the delivery would be at noon. Bought a $1000 couch from this store off the floor. Days later I came in to pick up, on the day we discussed, and they said I couldn't have it because some person wasn't there. It was still on the floor even though they told me they would take it off the night I bought it. Very poor customer service! Two separate deliveries for one couch? First delivery: Delivery drivers would not take damaged couch back to truck when questioned about damage. Proceeded to "take pics to send to customer service" and lied to get a signature. When calling customer service and the store location, I was met with "there's nothing we can do". Second delivery: the other half came filthy with hand prints all over it and the drivers refused to take it back to the truck & left! Again calls were made, I was told to wait 24 hours for a call back and never received one? When calling again, I was told that they franchise their stores and they can't control what they do from their corporate offices. When given the information for the store owners to speak with them directly, no one at the store knew of them? And when asking to speak to a manager they're at lunch no matter what time of day it is? Terrible experience. Waited 45 minutes for someone to help us place our order for a sectional. Two days later, their own website is showing a lower price for the couch, so I called them to see if they do price corrections. They said they can match the sale price for the couch, but when I asked them if they can also match the 10% off sale from the official Ashley website, they said they would call me back. They never called me back. Due to this, I tried to cancel the order over the phone and they asked me when I can come in to the store. I told them I want to cancel over the phone and they said they will check with the manager and call back within the hour. They did not call back. read more

First of all let me start off by saying I HAVE NEVER in my life seen such a lazy incompetent work environment. I walked in here on Monday March 1st around 4:30pm interested in buying a bedroom set for my daughter. There were 3 workers just sitting there at the computers next to the entrance huddled around whispering like a bunch of teenage girls in high school. The sales person I dealt with unfortunately was no better at her job as she made no effort to help me out with what I needed. Let this sink in, me and my daughter for the first time ever had to walk out after the sales person's next words because that is how bad the service was. We had inquired about a set we were interested in and the lady uninterested in our needs just casually said " oh we don't have that here, you can just go to home goods." Are you serious??? Your own employee could not do the one job that she has and At least try and up sell, how embarrassing. To make matters worse we were about to look around ourselves when we see the huddled up workers by the computers pointing their fingers at us and laughing... after seeing that we gave up and said this place is not worth it let's go. With management not being around and lazy unprofessional workers as well I see this business missing out on a lot of potential sales. How sad. read more

Update to my original review posted 9/6/19: The extended warranty company won't fix my dining room table because they said it is too damaged. Yeah, you heard that right. Glad I spent the extra $100 on that useless warranty. Also, Ashley's Escalation team got in touch with me and gave me hope, false it turned out, that my table would be repaired. They said the damage was my fault because I put hot items and wet items on the table! Imagine that, using a table like everyone does and having it damaged after just 4 months! And yes, I used hot pads to divert the direct heat from dishes that were hot. So, once again, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE! Unless you like poorly manufactured furniture. read more

On Saturday, January 7th, my family and I visited Ashley Furniture in Joliet, Illinois. We were trying to purchase a bedroom furniture set for my daughter. The salesman was helpful, and we came to an agreement of $1000.00 for the Baystorm set with twin bed, dresser with mirror and chest of drawers. The final price was $1247...this included 8.75% sales tax and delivery fee. The sales person then said we could get 0% financing for 6 months. I filled out the finance paperwork and gave then identification and another credit card. It was taking a long time, but the salesman returned and said everything was good, but he messed up and the cost was higher. The salesman stated he made a mistake. I then got up and said we were leaving. They ran financing on me and then changed the terms of the agreement! We went to the manager, Doug. Doug stated they couldn't give that price. I stated that the salesman already agreed on the price and it was poor customer service to change it. He then told me that the salesman never agreed on the price. I stated I wouldn't have started thr finance process if I didn't have a price. My wife and I told him it was poor customer service. He looked away and just said "Have a good day." This is very shady!! They ran my credit and then changed the terms of the deal afterwards. Will never shop here again!!! read more

Visited yesterday (July 21st) with my boyfriend to purchase a sofa. Shortly after arriving found one that we liked and asked one sales consultant about pricing for delivery and if they were able to deliver out of state. She came back and told us that they offer next day delivery so I could get the couch delivered in Orland before I moved and therefore didn't need to ship it out of state. She also said that they had the couch in stock at the warehouse so I could pick it up if I didn't want to get it delivered. She stepped away and another sales consultant came over,who had greeted us at the door. He told us they don't offer one day shipping and that it wasn't in stock at the warehouse and the earliest date I could have it delivered was July 27th. I asked how much delivery would be out of state since I would be moved out by the 27th and he said $199. At this point I was getting frustrated and confused why nobody seemed to know what was going on. After pointing out that both of them told me two completely different things within a matter of 5 minutes, I was treated rudely and decided to leave as I did not want to give them my business. I visited the Ashley in Orland and had a much better experience there and decided to place my order with them. The manager at Orland mentioned that they don't ship out of state and that he's not sure why the other sales consultant would have told me that. Bottom line: the sales consultants all need to be on the same page!! There's no reason that 2 consultants should be giving me different information literally minutes apart. And not to mention how rude they were when I started asking questions about the disparities in what they were each telling me. Will never visit this location again! read more

Started with the salesperson who was new. He was kind and did his best. However, when he had a question, the manager was rude and impatient with him in front of us which is very unprofessional. I kept telling our sales person that he is doing a great job and that things happen when you're new and you ask questions and that's how you learn. His boss could have learned from him how to treat customers. When our order was supposed To be delivered, they came and over an hour BEFORE their scheduled 4 hour window. Worst Furniture store ever! Ordered furniture's a month ago to have it to my Christmas for my friends and family and I'm still waiting for the furniture to arrive! OK Long story Short! Bought living room, master bedroom and second bedroom sets on blackfriday sale costing me 4 grands for the new house we bought recently. They didnt offer free shipping so I thought to pick it up. They said all my orders will be available in 3 days.. (dec 2) but i thought to wait one more day and called and confirmed them that I will be I'll be picking up my items (because the same day I rented a truck to move my house thought to use the same truck to pickup all the furniture) but came to know that 3 items of my master bed were not available to pickup and I have to wait till 12th. With frustration I thought I can pickup the available items on the same day as I have a truck with me.. So went to the warehouse, picked up 8 items out of 11. When I called the warehouse on 12th to verify my order is ready, the CS lady had a very hard time to find my order and said your item will arrive on 17th.. Again with added Frustration I waited for 5 more days and called them and again the CS lady had a pretty hard time to find my order in their system.. after 25 minutes of talk and giving my all details she found my order has been completely closed saying that I have picked up all the items on dec 3rd. I really got shocked. I explained her clearly that I didnt receive few items and I also have the delivery receipt to prove it that says those items marked "0" She then said to me "sorry about the confusion" and created a brand new order for those missing items and told me to wait 10 more days..... I was about to give up my patience and almost yelled at her. She said she can delivery those items to my home and assemble it as well as a compensation. I then agreed to wait for another 10 moooore days. Today is 27th and my kind bed items came to my home delivered and they started to assemble my bed and came to know they are missing "King Poster" and they cannot assemble the bed without those.. they apologized me and said you might have to wait until we bring the King poster. Now I have parts of king bed scattered every where in my bed room and I have to wait another 3 to 4 days?? really???? I called CS again and she said she will verify the order and get back to me in 15 minutes but no return calls for the whole day... I would never ever shop again with Ashley furniture and this will be my first and very last one! I wont recommend to any of my friends too. It took 4 attempts to get a full bedroom set delivered without any defects. When trying to reach the Joliet Store, they were nothing but rude. The only thing I got was a $50 giftcard in the mail and the delivery fee taken out. 4 Deliveries which meant 4 days sitting 4 hours waiting for them to come on a Sunday. I felt bad being upset with the delivery guys because it's not their fault. The 2nd time they came to put up the mirror on the long dresser and the guys who came didn't have the right tools/equipment....so that was another date to be scheduled. The reason why I chose Ashley Furniture was because the Delivery Date was the soonest and the bedroom deal was great but the Customer Service at the Joliet store was horrrrrrible!!! The whole set should have been free with all the time I had to take off to wait for the delivery. Why would I want to use a $50 giftcard to go back? What am I going to possibly use it on. By far the worst experience I've had buying furniture. I bought a couch and was told it would be ready in 3 weeks. As the 3 week mark was approaching, I called to check on the status of my order. The sales associate never added my phone number to the order so not only was I unable to check the status, but I also had to call the customer service number and wait an hour to have it added. Once added, I was told my order was delayed an additional week. It is now the week that it's supposed to be available and when I called to check the status again, I was told it's delayed another 2-4 weeks. I called the customer service number again and asked the reasoning for the delay. I was told that the couch was put on back order, yet no one from the store called to let me know. The customer service rep told me that they attempted to call me but the number didn't work--I confirmed the number on file, gave her an additional number to add to my account, and told her I had no missed calls on the day they supposedly called me. The cherry on top is that the sales associate told me when I bought the couch, "it will be available 8/21 but things have been coming in earlier so I would anticipate it being ready before then!" I do not appreciate her giving me false hope as I am still waiting for my couch with no confirmed date of when it will be available. I would not recommend shopping at this location. read more
