Over the last few weeks we have been furnishing our new home with the help of Ashely Furniture in Shiloh. Ashley Sledge was our sales person each time, and we highly recommend him. He was incredibly helpful, and did not try to push or oversell a single item on us. He gave us just what we wanted, and gave us plenty of time to think and make decisions for ourselves. This meant so much to us! We had two separate deliveries for our furniture, and both teams were phenomenal. I don't remember the names of the first group, but Robert Power was the name of the man who delivered our second round of furniture. He took great care of our house and furniture, and helped us to get everything lined up and arranged perfectly. I am completely surprised by how awesome this whole experience was. I would give them more than 5 stars if possible, and definitely will be returning for my furniture needs. read more

I purchased a dining table and had Ashley assemble it at my home one year ago. Now that we are moving homes we wanted to take the legs off to make the move easier. That's when I noticed the installers stripper two bolts, one hole was empty (they didn't even bother with the bolt) and they tightened one of the corners so tight that it split the wood. read more

I scheduled the removal of my old furniture to make room, then less than 24 hours from the delivery date, Ashley decided to call me to tell me that the furniture was on back order. When I called back, I get an oversees call center filled with completely useless associates. Absolutely unacceptable - I will never shop at this shit store again. **Consumer Alert** Before you go out this weekend and consider Ashley Furniture for your home Furniture purchase please be ready for war!! Going to the store and meeting with the salesmen and managers is a pleasant experience, they have some nice showcased Furniture at what seems to be a reasonable price. Once purchased though... the nightmare begins. You will need to schedule a drop off time(that you have NO control over) on a specified day. Be ready to take off work for delivery. We had to reschedule our first drop off twice. When the Furniture (a sectional for us)finally arrived it had a tear in all but one piece. We contacted the number provided and was met with immediate hatefullness. Called the store manager and explained the situation. He tried his best to help(they are very limited at the store). After three weeks of waiting and sending pictures and videos(multiple times). Zero call backs after promises from customer service supervisors, We were finally given another delivery date(not time). When the "new" sectional showed up, it was worse than the original pieces, not wrapped, holes and tears not even the original color. In frustration we contacted the number provided again(was given another run around). At one point we were told "we had the tools to get the job done, its our job to use them" whatever that meant. We told the store we wanted a refund and come pick up everything, apparently thats not allowed, you buy it its yours. No give backs. We were ready to just drop it off in front of the store. The manager at the store, went above his means, contacted corporate for us. We got yet another rescheduled date for replacement Furniture..again 3 weeks went by. Furniture showed up (still cant pick a time)and one piece was still torn in the set. Went down the rabbit hole of phone calls again... corporate is involved so within 8 days we had the final piece to our sectional. They did not offer any concessions or compensation for our headaches, time taken off work, time spent on phone calls or moving our schedules around everytime they set the time for delivery. The customer service does not have means or tools to truly give customers the help they need. QC is non existent as far as I cant tell. The logistics delivery department is dated and understaffed. Went to Ashley fuuurniture in Shilo Illinois. Purchased a kitchen table, chairs and hutch. It took the manager a long time to process our purchase. After quite a while we made our purchase and left the store. About 15 minutes later i got a call from the mnager saying our card didnt go through. He asked us to come back to charge our card again. I checked with my bank and they told me the charge went through. So now im pissed. I went back to the store and canceled my order 4600 dollars. This was on a Sunday. Did not get my refund back for 6 days. Please watch out for this store and the management. They dont know what they are doing. I went to another furniture store and my experience was very different. The sales clerk was rude and had a thing with serving white people. Very impatient with questions and then, after being passive aggressive was just aggressive. When I said I was uncomfortable with his replies he asked if it was the color of his skin. I said no, it's how you are speaking to me. He said let me get the manager, someone who looks like you. Where does that come from? He was rude and impatient and when called out he said it was race?! I went to a different Ashley store, placed my thousands of dollars worth of business and was then happy with the service. Won't go into Shiloh Ashley again. They do not even deserve one star!! I would like to give Ashley Store a negative 20!! On November 9th I went to the Shiloh, IL location of Ashley Furniture to purchase a recliner/lift chair for my 99 year old mother-in-law who lives in an independent living facility. They only has 3 lift chairs in the store to look at. The sales person and I went on the website and chose one online that they had in the local warehouse and could be delivered on Friday, November 14th. I paid for white glove delivery which included plugging in the chair and making sure it worked. When the delivery person showed up there was a lot going. The delivery person put the chair in place plugged it in and saw that the controller lite up. As soon as he walked out the door the controller was tried and the chair did not move. No recline, no lift. We immediately called the delivery person but he did not answer so we called the customer care number. We told them the problem and they said they would have a technician come out on Monday, November 17th. Monday came and went, no technician, no contact with us. On Tuesday I called customer care again and now they said they needed pictures of the damage!! I kept telling them there is no damage the chair DOES NOT WORK. Since last Tuesday I have exchanged phone calls and emails with them (many). Ashley would not do anything until we sent pictures of the DAMAGE!! I sent the pictures and received an email from Ashley on Thursday, November 20th saying they received the pictures (of nothing but the chair since there was no damage to see) they were forwarding the information to their specialist and we would hear back in 1 business day. Today, 2 business days later I had to call customer care again since I have never heard back from anyone at Ashley. I am now told they need a serial number for the chair, which they should have on the delivery papers, before they can help us!! We were not given a copy of the delivery paperwork. As I said in the beginning the chair has never worked and the delivery person would have seen it did not work if he had tried the chair like he was supposed to have done with the white glove delivery that we paid for! At this point we are going to file a complaint with our credit card and have the chair taken back and get our money back. I have also called the store and they would not help me at all! Recently moved into a new house and needed some furniture heard that Ashley's was a good place to go for sofas. As soon as I walked in with my roommates a sales man instantly walked up to us and asked if we were here with our parents (We all over 20). We were told we had to leave because we were probably not going to buy furniture. The man was very dismissive and direct with telling us that we couldn't be there without our parents. In June of 2024, my mother purchased a couch and loveseat from Ashley Furniture along with an extended warranty for $999.99. She was assured that the warranty would protect her purchase, particularly because it was a floor model. However, just nine months later, she encountered a mechanical issue with the loveseat recliner. When we attempted to file a claim, we were shocked to learn that the warranty did not cover the problem--and, in fact, seems to offer little to no real protection. As it turns out, the extended warranty excludes coverage for any "as-is" purchases. This crucial detail was never made clear at the time of sale, leaving my mother to pay nearly a thousand dollars for a warranty that was essentially useless. I believe she was misled about what she was paying for and relied upon this extended warranty when she purchased the items.  I am requesting that Ashley Furniture provide a full refund for the $999.99 warranty, repair the loveseat, and compensate her for her time and her money that was tied up in a service that failed to deliver any actual benefit. We have spent many numerous hours contacting the extended warranty company, Ashley corporate headquarters and even stopped by the location where she purchased the furniture, without any resolution or answers. Despite repeated attempts to resolve this issue, I have only been met with delays and vague timelines from Ashley customer service. I am sharing this experience to help others make informed decisions before purchasing extended warranties from Ashley. I still hope the company will do the right thing and make this right. read more

I ordered a recliner on 11/24/23 and am still waiting for delivery. The only way to talk to anyone in the store is to go in person. I live 25 miles away and drove in twice to find out the delivery delay. I am supposed to be on the delivery schedule for tomorrow, but I have had several text messages in the last week wanting me to schedule my delivery for 2 weeks from now. I cannot believe how bad their customer service is and won't be shopping in their store anymore. We liked the Sofa/sectional we purchased 14 months ago. It was great... Until we were looking for the TV remote and moved a cushion and noticed the stitching gave away on the edge of the "decking" (the stretched fabric under the cushions) leaving it open on the edge. I wish I could say that this was a pleasant experience, but it was not. I want to go on record and state that in the past, I have bought a couch, love seat, and coffee table with side tables set from Ashley. My wife found a couch online that she liked so we went in to check it out. The salesman said it was not available anymore even though it says we can order it online and have it delivered. I asked to see something comparable and was shown in a quick manner two couches that were not close to what we were looking for. There was one that was like the couch we wanted but he did not show that to us. We had to find it. I asked if it was on sale and he said 15% off. Then he clicked back to his blu tooth phone call. Terrible customer service. I've been having problems with a return for months now despite getting the "comfort" guarantee. A specialist responded to my first review but then did nothing to fix the issue and has not responded in weeks. If you are thinking about buying something here, I would recommend testing it out in the store and then buying from another retailer online. BUYER BEWARE!! Check the website for pricing! The store charged us $549.99 for a nightstand and $274.99 for the second night stand that was "50% off". One night stand on their website is $269.99 full price both comes to $539.99! They charged us $1,199.99 for a door chest that is $749.99 on their website! When I called to cancel the order it is impossible to talk to a person and the person I finally got to talk to said there was nothing she could do and she couldn't cancel the order. My fiancé and I went to the Shiloh location to buy a couch, coffee table, and end table. The salesperson was very helpful with the sale. Yet.. it stopped there! My fiancé wanted to pick up the order at the warehouse in South County. That's when everything went down hill. We went on December 23 to the warehouse and the men working brought the couch out. They dropped the couch in front of us. Thankfully no damaged occurred. However the corner of the couch had cardboard ripped off and the fabric had debris and grease from the storage and the men. We said we did not want that couch. Called Ashley headquarters and they said we'd get a replacement as soon as possible. My fiancé received a call on Dec 26 stating they got a NEW couch . That we could pick it up. So he arranged to get it and the coffee table. We drove to the warehouse only to be given the SAME EXACT couch, only they had someone try to clean and take the stain out. The warehouse manager/mover ( same man from last time) was rude and told my fiancé that it was a different couch. We questioned why the same corner of cardboard was ripped off, why everyone else had couches covered by plastic and cardboard, but ours had been exposed. The man continued to proceed with it was a NEW couch and that they just ripped it off that day. Why would they need to do that? My fiancé was so frustrated because the man completely lied to our face. We took the couch and will NEVER purchase from this company again. The customer service from the home store was null. No one tried to rectify the situation. Just beware of the people working in the warehouse...they DO NOT take care of the pieces they move inside. Absolutely horrible customer service! read more

Ashley fails again. So, we bought some furniture I mention in an earlier comment and were told a delivery date of Dec 13th. Dec 11th they call to confirm we'll be home on the 13th. Dec 12th they call to say nothing is going to be delivered and provided no explanation. Dec 13th, they show up with a partial delivery after telling us nothing is going to be delivered. Again, no explanation where the rest of the purchase is. Dec 16th, they text to tell me the rest of the order will be delivered on Dec 20th. Today, Dec 17th, they left a voice msg for me to call to confirm delivery time for the 20th. I call to confirm and they tell me nothing is going to be delivered until Jan 8th. Extremely rude service from the "guest response team". I asked to speak with anyone else and the lady refused to let me. The incompetence in the reps I've been dealing with is comical. Someone responded to my original yelp comment that they want to elevate the issue. So I responded to that person who I've never heard from again. This was my 2nd and last purchase at Ashley HomeStore. Should have learned my lesson the first time. I will say the one thing they have mastered is how to take money for furniture very quickly. The customer service at this location needs to do better. We ordered a bedroom set several weeks ago, and was given a 26 Dec delivery date. We followed the instructions to contact the automated line for delivery information update; however, when we contacted the number we we told that our delivery had not been scheduled. After going back and forth and receiving a call from our salesperson, we were scheduled for a new date. Again we called to verify, and were told once again that we were not scheduled and had to wait yet again. I completely understand delays do happen, but the fact that we have to call instead of being kept in the loop, is extremely frustrating! My girlfriend and I ordered a furniture set, they say it'll be 6 weeks, sure that's fine. We pay cash. 2 weeks later it gets bumped back an additional four weeks, the total is 10 weeks now, we call the store directly and talk to Devin, someone else who identifies themself as a manager, and a lady identifying herself as the delivery coordinator. We get told a story about how things are backed up because of covid and because of how the furniture building and assembly is backed up because the online website kept taking orders while they were closed. Ten weeks is still longer than what we were initially promised, and why take orders if you know you can't fill them? Additionally, my girlfriend and I work in healthcare, we take care of covid patients, we literally live and die what is going on right now, it's been four months since the outbreak happened here in the US so stop using that overplayed excuse. Fast forward to today, we get a notification that our order is pushed back an additional four weeks, that brings the overall total to 14 weeks. Crazy huh? We call the store directly, Devin, a manager of some sort isn't available, the delivery coordinator lady is gone for the day but someone else promises she'll get back to us the next day. I call the 800 number, mind you I know I didn't order the order online, I ordered in person at the store, an hour later on the phone I'm talking to a supervisor at the 800 number and they're going to touch base with the district manager and Devin to get to the bottom of what's going on. Literally we don't care anymore, just want our money back and want compensated for what equates to giving Ashley HomeStore an interest-free loan to play with our money for six weeks now, with no delivery of product, no completion of service, and a lot of smoke and mirrors. Something real would be the district manager and Devin picking up a hammer and some nails and physically producing the furniture they're hawking, or enough of us customers getting fed up with this "moving the goal post" back sales scheme and just suing them, not only for what we paid, but also damages and lost opportunity cost where we could've already had our promised furniture with another company that actually fulfills it's customers orders and honors what it's promising as delivery dates. By the way, watch for the quick response from Ashley HomeStore on this, it should sound something like "we're sorry to hear this, someone from our customer care team will reach out to you soon!". That statement is worth about as much as what wipes my cheeks after I'm done passing excrement. read more

Update: On 12 Dec I responded to corporate Ashley providing more details concerning my experience with the local Ashley store. That email prompted a phone call on 13 Dec in which I retold the story. The Ashley rep very politely and professionally confirmed that Ashley has a no-return policy as stated in the sales order (5th page, small print) and then wished me happy holidays. So my original advice to prospective customers remains the same: beware and read everything before concluding your purchase. If they have what you want, be happy; but don't assume. read more

It is also super awkward at the store... their employees hover over year and then linger around watching you like they are stalking you. Very uncomfortable and very unprofessional. I will say that the in store experience is good. I was able to get the exact furniture I wanted with a pretty decent sales experience. Delivery was fantastic, on time, and the delivery crew was great. Here is where it went off the rails. After a few days, one of the reclining sides of my love seat started catching and was unable to lift or drop without considerable effort. I think no problem, I'll call in the warranty and have it looked at. I have called at least a dozen times in the past month, sometimes you can get through, most often not. After 15 minutes of being on hold you automatically get dropped. Of the times I have gotten through the person who answers the phone is always pleasant and understanding. I have been promised that a "technician" will call me tomorrow, in a few days, next week. I've had scheduled repair visits and I have not yet been called by anyone. NOTHING. I call every few days and get told the same thing EVERY TIME, "that isn't our department, we have no control over that, they are a third party repair and we have no direct contact." So the bottom line is, Ashley Furniture isn't interested in backing the product they sell. They are interested in the sale and nothing after. If you want furniture with zero satisfaction or support on the warranty then Ashley is the store for you. These will be the last items I buy from Ashley. read more

Once your name is on a contract service plummets. Delivery is scheduled at their convenience and then changed if they deem it necessary without consulting you. Headboard was delivered with finish damaged and footboard missing. Next day footboard was installed but drawers did not close properly and there was rather large chip on the edge. The installers didn't care. One pays a rather excessive fee for the worst possible service. This is another instance when a corporation becomes so big it feels it no longer has to please the customer. We are still waiting for them to fulfill their obligations. I've waited 3 months already and every time I call they have moved the delivery date back to "12-14 weeks" (at the time of purchase it was at 10 weeks) And for the last 3 weeks no one is answering the phone. From them lying to us about prices and changing them every time we went in, to them delivering BROKEN furniture, it's been a hassle from the start. We went in several different times to pick things out as we wanted to do our homework before making such a big purchase. We bought an adjustable base, a mattress, as well as an entire bedroom set. Every time we went in, they promised us a deal on the entire set and gift cards, etc. When we would go in the next time of course the person who made us the deal the last time wasn't in and we had to start from scratch. Apparently their prices vary greatly based on who you are working with. Unprofessional. This store also flat out lied to us about their return policy. We were told if at any point within 30 days we changed our minds about anything we would only be subject to a 10% restocking fee. We clarified this with them every time we went in as we were trying out a new (& quite expensive) bed and wanted to be sure we had options if we ended up not liking it and wanted to go with something different. Well, after everything is all said and done that isn't true at all. They apparently have a zero return policy. Unacceptable. Their "white glove" delivery service is far from it. They were not only late (which can be forgivable, but every time is ridiculous--we had several different deliveries), they tried to deliver us broken furniture and they damaged our other furniture in the process. Then when we had to get them to repair it or send new, we had to jump through hoops. Call this number, send this email, they will call you back, etc. We STILL have furniture that they damaged on delivery and we probably won't ever get that fixed. They left our bedroom completely torn apart and didn't even tell us they were leaving, we didn't sign for the delivery or anything. My husband ended up putting the furniture together himself. All and all we would absolutely NEVER recommend this store to anyone. They might make you nice, shiny promises but that's only to get your money. I was not contacted or informed that a table was on back order and I would not be receiving anything, two days before Thanksgiving mind you, I had no furniture because it's a brand new building I've been working on for two years I was so excited about the holidays. So I went over in person because it is a one hour away from me, after the Black Friday rush was over.. I spoke to the salesman who sold me the furniture he directed me to the back to this girl felt so sorry for me and was reassuring to have something done about it the next day and I'm still waiting on the phone call from her.. Every time I try to call the store it directs me to corporate, and they don't seem to care about anything either.. so I just wait it out until the delivery was supposed to happen again no furniture on the day it was supposed to be there they told me two days before that they would call me and give me a three hour range of when they would be here no call no show again... This time I asked corporate to please contact the store and have the store manager call me, The store manager called me and seemed to wonder why I was complaining.. so I asked him to speak to whoever he answers to and he told me she was out for the day but she would call me tomorrow for sure, That was four weeks ago!! Last week I finally get my furniture and I still am missing the table which was the hold up in the first place.. now I'm really angry and they don't really care at all! All that they've done is give me free shipping and come to find out if I would've ordered online I would've already had all my stuff and it would've been automatic free shipping... Avoid this store and Ashley Furniture in general at all costs. I purchased a bedroom set with my wife in December of 2014. The sales staff was initially quite helpful and the price was good, so I added in the full warranty they offered and I placed an order knowing it would be a few weeks for delivery. The day came and the delivery men brought the furniture into the house. I immediately noticed a large gash on the chest (dresser). The delivery staff set everything up as needed but when they concluded I pointed out the issue with the dresser. The driver used a phone and took pictures of the gash to document the issue and assured me that I would be contacted within 48 hours by customer service. Later that night my wife found a giant crack in the base of the headboard that I had missed by delivery. But hey, it just got delivered and we paid extra for the warranty.. no worries right? 2 weeks later... still no call from customer service. So I visit the store. Of course they try to look up the issue but nothing is found. The CS agent at the store entered the issue and all in the computer and scheduled a date several weeks out. The day for the service arrives and the technician shows up. He's able to patch up the gash in the dresser after awhile and it looked great. Kudos to him. However, he was not able to repair the crack in the headboard. However, he documented the issues and took a great deal of pictures for reference. It was at this time I informed him that I would be moving in March and that we'd need to correct this sooner rather than later. But hey, that's 2 months away... plenty of time right? Fast forward a few more weeks and still no call. I go back into the store too see what is going on. Initial search found nothing, but they they did finally find a ticket. It showed that a new headboard would be delivered to me sometime in April. I again informed them that I would be moving in March and that we'd need to expedite the issue. I was told I'd get a call that afternoon. 2 days later... Still no call. (Seeing a pattern here?) So I headed back into the store and this time spoke directly to the Customer Service manager. I was assured that she would open an emergency ticket to setup delivery for the next day OR they'd arrange to have the headboard sent up to me in Chicago where I was moving too. Sounded acceptable to me. The manager was to let me know the answer by 11am the next morning. 2 days later still no call or email. (Really?!) So I called the store as it was the day before moving day. After talking to the customer services reps who are unable to assist, I was put on the line with the sales manager. Once he understood what the issue was and what was promised so far, he consulted with the store manager. He came back and told me that they'd be unable to help at this point and I would need to take my issue up with the Ashley Furniture in Chicago (where I was moving too.) So of course I repeated this all back in my words, after 3 months of going back and forth they where wiping their hands of me and pawning me off to start the process again with a different branch in a different city. He agreed that was exactly what was being said and apologized for the issue again mentioning this is their policy. Point being... don't buy from these people. The moment they have your money, they could care less about fixing any damage that THEY caused themselves. I'm quite certain had I even given them more time I'd be in the exact same situation as they clearly had no intention of doing any work. SUCCESS! Finally heard back that corporate had "reconsidered" and my new dresser was delivered today. Should not have taken that much energy, but still upgrading my previous review to 2* to reflect satisfactory resolution of the problem. read more
